So far 319,000 people have tested positive for the virus in the state. 8,000 new cases is the last 24 hours. California department of healths had new warned Sonoma County it is on the states monitoring list because of the growing number of coronavirus cases. That means new restrictions could be issued monday morning. Allie rasmus explains what that would mean for businesses. Reporter when a county is placed on the states monitoring list, that moans they have to start tightening up on restrictions. He could put a stop op indoor dinings. Tastings at wineries would have to take place outdoors only. Movie theaters would have to stop indoor activities and places like arcades would have to stop operating indoors as well. Bars, clubs, breweries would only be able to serve alcohol outside when a customer purchases a meal. Sonoma county has 1,900 cases with 51 new cases in the past 24 hours. That is five times the amount they had in june so. County Health Officials are expected to make an announcement tomorrow. Reporting live, allie rasmus, ktvu fox 2 news. The county Health Department did issue a long list of new rules which does include a mandate on masks and new restrictions on both indoor and outdoor activities. It comes after 8 of the people in the county tested for the coronavirus last week came back with positive test results. Its an alarming rate. Can you imagine 100 people going to do the testing and thats alarming. It goes into Effect Tomorrow morning. In marin counties coronavirus outbreak has led to the death of five residents in a nursing home. This is at the marin post acute Nursing Center in san rafael. It is home to some 170 residents. 17 of the Staff Members have also tested positive for the coronavirus. Starting tomorrow several businesses will be allowed to open in santa clara county. Outdoor dining will resume along with gyms and fitness centers. Facial coverings will be required. Cardio and aerobics will not be allowed. If residents want to see businesses reopen, they need to do their part. If you think the test results will show we dont have a problem in santa clara county, then lets prove that. If you think theres a big problem or there could be, the only way were going to figure that out is to keep testing. In the last two weeks almost 2,000 people have been diagnosed with covid19. Nobody wants to shut things down again. County Health Officers are urging people to wear masks. Santa clara will open testing sites. They will be in san jose and gilroy. Each site can conduct 500 tests a day. The two sites are in san jose at independent high school and at the county of santa clara Services Center auditorium. Theyre open tuesday through friday. The gilroy le occasion site is located at the south county annex on ren avenue. It, too, will be open tuesday through friday from 1 00 to 6 00 p. M. Happening today the city of martinez is bracing for a huge protest and possibly a counter protest. Many downtown businesses and shops are boarding up for what could be the largest demonstration ever for this city of 40,000. What was supposed to be a black lives matter event quickly gained steam. White supremacy fliers have showed up. Martinez police requested help from other Law Enforcement agencies as they prepare for the rally. It is set to begin at 4 00 outside the courthouse in martinez. Reporter it means new restrictions on indoor activities in Sonoma County are likely. That means people who live or work there could see a stop to dining indoors at restaurants. Tastings at wineries would have to take place outside only. Movie theaters, zoos and museums would have to stop operating. And bars, clubs and breweries would only be able to serve alcohol outside when a exups mer purchases a meal. Sonoma county have 914 new cases. County Health Officials said that is five times the number of active cases they had back in june.
