Reporter the Program Gives 72 transitioning foster youth in santa clara 1,000 a month for one year, starting when they turn 24. The total cost is 900,000 from the countys general fund. That early boost of a 1,000 stipend a month basically gets parlayed into a much Better Future for them. They stay out of our system, and that will save the county millions in the long run. Reporter supervisor dave cortezi said recipients have no condition on what this money can be spent on.
