Ships and the air shows, but also about Building Community connections as well. On friday night at fleet week showed a different side of the us navy. The militarys rock band bringing the beats to the crowd at pier 39, the Community Concert capped off fridays full schedule. Well, earlier the parade of ships glided by the golden gate and day one of the air show brought the signature roar of the blue angels f a 18 hornets ripping through the bay area skies. I just love the blue angels. Ive been coming out here since seven years old when theyve been at moffett, and so i just follow them every time they come out for fleet week. For some, the spectacle of the us military is the big draw. But for others, fleet week is also about community. Whether its a handshake and a thank you from a fellow veteran. I went in 86. I was in the marine corps and i did 12 years. And you know, basic training and everything got out of the gunnery or a chance to show the San Francisco community the other ways military members serve. We became musicians. We want to perform. And its such an honor to be able to do that representing our country at the same time, on friday, members of the navys stewards of the sea Environmental Program brought their turtle mascot to showcase how the military Environment Team works to reduce trash, keep Marine Mammals out of training areas and protect the oceans and sea life. Not only are we out there in the navy protecting our country, but were doing it in an environmentally safe way for local nonprofits and businesses. As the fleet week crowds brought a welcome boost of energy and attention. While were offering, you know, some souvenirs to the people, you know, coming out to see the show, were also spreading the word about our programs and our services. And it was a chance to showcase what San Francisco is all about. The lobby is packed. Theres a ton of energy in the wharf right now. Its an amazing time to be here. And if you missed the air show, you still have a couple chances left. It works all the weekend. On saturday and sunday, the beginning time is 1218. And then if you want to catch that final act with the blue angels, that starts at 3 15 p. M. Saturday and sunday. So a lot of people out there and i have to tell you, you you have to give it up to the military Service Members because they were all in there like dark winter navy uniforms. They looked great, but i know they were hot. So i think theyre glad that theres a little cooldown in the evening. Yeah, it sounds about right. It looked great out there. And it looks like you said that they have masters. Is that right . They have. What do they have . Masters degrees. So for the band, yes, i was talking to them. They said that a lot of the people who are in the music program, the bands have masters degrees in music. They are professionals. And so they go out there and they just share the joy that they have for music and their love for the country. Its incredible. Gianna katsuyama thank you. All right. Mark how is it looking for the weekend . Well, we will begin a little bit of some cooling for tomorrow near the immediate coastline. But overall, saturday is another hot forecast. Thats after another day of some records to report here. Sfo oakland, san jose, all tying their records. Salinas breaking a record 98 degrees. So take a look at all these 90s from today. San franciscos second day in a row in the lower 90s so widespread 90s even out toward the immediate coastline. In fact, this was the scene looking out toward crissy field or out from crissy field, out toward the golden gate bridge, a beach day with those temperatures heating up. Now, the heat advisory continues into your saturday night. So this has been extended into the weekend for all these areas in yellow, San Francisco, oakland, hayward, redwood city, san jose, morgan hill and gilroy. Temperatures
