The weather that you just drove through, it may be with us until june. You said. Well, off and on. Yeah, theres always temps bumping up, but everything right now is favoring kind of a continuation of this may gray june gloom, which i know ali over here likes. When it gets hot. Shes like, when is it going to cool off . Itll stay this way for a while here. This when fog makes it out to sacrament. Look at that. I mean thats impressive. For midmay. And temps in the valley have been hot, but not here, as you know. And i think thats the theme i think will favor us for much of the month and probably into early june as well. A lot of gray out there. So were working for the weekend, but its a cool start to the weekend , at least for some here, and i think itll be the same tonight into saturday morning. Fog will slowly burn back to the coast. Temp. So 60 and also 70. Well, hopefully for the morning commute. I dont have to say watch out. But heres the man who tells us how it is out there. Why . Thats in berkeley, near peoples park. Palestine police and riot gear formed a line around the building, and University Workers then went in to start clearing away the trash and belongings of the protesters inside that building, there was graffiti scrawled on some of the walls. There were no fights or reports of injuries, but 12 people were arrested. The protesters started occupying the uc berkeley owned building earlier this week as it was cleared out, the group chanted support for palestine in the war in gaza. Free, free, free, free palestine. Now, the university confirms this group is different from the protesters who set up an encampment near sproul hall a few weeks ago. That encampment was dismantled after a deal was reached with administrators, but the demonstrators at the anna head hall site said they would only provide information about their demands on their instagram page. They would not speak with the media about their cause and what exactly their objectives were in taking over that building. Now, uc berkeley says it considers the occupation of head hall a crime, not free speech, and says the 12 people who were arrested will likely be charged on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and vandalism. The University Says it plans to disclose the names and affiliations of the 12 people arrested. Back to you, dave. Okay, ali. Thank you. Time 704 classes on campus. Sapir built by the united states, first in n operation that American Military leaders say. Meanwhile in washington, House Republicans voted to pass a bill to reverse President Bidens freeze on sending a shipment of weapons to israel as it plans to invade the Southern Gaza city of rafah. Democrats are calling the bill a political stunt by republicans, as President Biden defies the will of congress with his use of executive privilege. He is brazen, doing so by withholding congressionally mandated aid. Everything it calls for. The administration is already doing. And it is just yet another example of the republicans using israel and antisemitism for their own political purposes every day. Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer says the senate will not take up the legislation. The white house has already said the president will veto the bill if it makes it to his desk. Our time now is 705. Israel defended its military actions in gaza at a hearing with the United Nations top court, and an israeli official said theyre taking the action to avoid harming civilians as they carry out a military offensive in rafah in the Southern Gaza area. That is why there has not been a large scale assault on rafah, but rather specific, limited and localized operations prefaced with evacuation efforts and support for humanitarian activities. Now, the International Court of justice is holding a third round of hearings on emergency measures requested by south africa, which wants the court to order a cease fire in gaza. Ktvu is andre senior in the studio with me now to tell us why these crimes are especially disturbing . Well, dave, there have been three brazen burglaries in the Redwood Heights neighborhood in just the past six weeks. Theyve all been taking place in broad daylight, sometimes while neighbors are watching. One crime took place earlier this week on monday afternoon. It was all captured on surveillance camera. It shows two masked burglars running out of a home, one holding a pillowcase. As you see right there, the victim says it was filled with jewelry stolen from her bedroom. Just bust in my home and take my things like its no problem. Its terrifying. Its frustrating. The People Living on reinhardt drive say all three break ins have been between the hours of noon and four. And they say these bold thieves dont seem to care that everyone can see them breaking into these homes. One neighbor says he screamed at them while they were driving away. They were, you know, certainly not put off by somebody seeing them commit a crime. It seems like this was kind of a normal practice for them. Neighbors say they have taken a photo of the thieves car. You see it right here. It was a black bmw sedan. The People Living on the street suspect their homes close proximity to highways 13 and 580 make them an attractive target for thieves. Looking for a quick getaway. We reached out to the Oakland Police department. Officers only would confirm that there have been three recent home break ins on that block. Garcia. Andre. Thank you. Bonnie doon davenport and santa rosa, all with some measurable amounts of drizzle. The wind has turned a little more west southwest, well more westerly right here. See this little low, little coastal eddy right there visiting the marin coast point rays. And then that funnels in this right there over through the golden gate, san pablo bay, right out to the street. And theres nothing to stop that low cloud deck. Its up around 2200ft. Water temps came down at just a skosh there, from about 54 or 50 5 to 52, 54 and in cold temps, water temps anytime. We talked about this in early april , as long as they stayed cold and we had any kind of onshore breeze, fog was never far away and boy is it ever 50 on the temps a few 40s, but a lot of low 50s. We are running about 2 to 5 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time. 52 popular scotts valley, socal, aptos, santa cruz, morgan hill, san martin, hollister all in there. A little warmer, but mid 50s around saratoga, campbell, also cupertino. Low clouds, a lot of gray over the bay and well out and out to the delta as well. And system is going to sweep into the north. Thatll keep the breeze going and also keep the theme of some cooler temps. So fog, drizzle, sunny, breezy, but temps not that warm unless youre really far inland. Big fog bank, windy and cooler taking us into at least saturday. Probably sunday and i would think drizzle as well is not going to be far away tonight and tomorrow again. For many, especially coastal hills, one item of interest would be the mountains starting early next week. Thunderstorm activity already popping up, maybe a return visit there for truckee, kirkwood and South Lake Tahoe down to mammoth. That would be early next week. Stratus quo is in place. Low overcast, fog, then sun. Nice. Mild, blustery, breezy to downright windy for some 5060 by the water. 60s and 70s inland. If anything, maybe a little cooler into the weekend. Some bump in temps probably early next week. Steve. Thank you. Well good morning. Thank you for joining us. Welcome back to mornings on two im dave clark im Gasia Mikaelian. It is friday may 18th some may 18th were sweating it out. Other days youre like, oh man, its already 90, you know . Right . Thats not the case here for us this may. And i dont think were really going to see much of that, probably all the way for the rest of the month. Early next week does look warmer, but then it comes right back down. There is a little bit of a break over sfo in the low cloud deck, but most locations say cloudy and the fog has made it all the way out to sacramento. Thats a heck of a surge right there, to see that even travis at one time had cloudy skies. I mean, usually thats about the cut off cordelia fairfield, but its a big fog bank. Some local drizzles in place, but were working for the weekend, thats for sure. But boy, its a cool start to friday, and i think it will be a cool weekend as well. Fog burns back to the coast. May take a while for some 60s and 70s at best. Well the morning commute is always on my mind, so lets ask the man himself how are things on a friday . Are you asking me to take you to the top, steve, because i cant. Yeah, just turn me loose, my friend. I will, steve, i will. Lets go right to the bay bridge, which is notorious for a bunch of slow traffic, but today its not. I think a lot of people are already working for the weekend, and theyre loving every minute of it. You can see interstate 880 is looking okay, but watch out. Theres a little slow traffic passing the coliseum, traffic is okay. On 580. San mateo bridge is moving along. Okay. And right now in san jose on northbound 101, two, 80 and 85, everything looks pretty good at 730. Lets get back to the headlines. New this morning. Highway one through big sur just reopened after being closed for more than six weeks due to marchs massive storms. Those repairs were completed eight days ahead of schedule. Ktvu tori gaines live in Monterey County with why tori this timing really is key. Absolutely. Good morning. Garcia the timing of this opening is huge, especially as tourists start to flock to our california coastlines to enjoy the beauty that is here, including down in big sur. Now this impact, this road slip that happened here more than six weeks ago has had a large impact on these coastal communities, particularly in big sur. Im going to step out of the frame so you can take a look at the traffic that is now making its way through. Now, excuse me. One second, one direction convoys, convoys were scheduled as a temporary solution here through this roadway closure. They were also intended only for essential workers and local residents. Now, authorities aim to keep the stress on the roadway to a minimum as the repairs were under way some days in april, they canceled the convoys altogether due to wet weather. Now, caltrans says those challenges are part of navigating the roads on the coast. Conversation between the highway, the oceans and the mountain and trying to meet the challenge that Mother Nature gives us. Now, construction on this roadway was tricky business, as you can see in the picture here, a crane held repair crews suspended in a basket over the edge of the roadway, something that could only be done in very specific weather conditions, namely when winds were under the speed of 25mph. Because that basket was suspended more than 170ft in the air. Now governor gavin newsom visited the site earlier this month when he signed an emergency proclamation which would help secure 100 million in federal funding for repairs across the state due to recent storms. Excuse me one moment now. Newsom described the repairs and also celebrated the work being completed as the roadway is now open. But caltrans is asking drivers to use caution through the area. Just really want to encourage travelers to moderate their speed when they come through the new signal. Its a new traffic setup, and then once youre past this, you have a beautiful drive ahead of you. No need to get ahead and pretend youre in the big city, rush. Youre back in nature, relax and enjoy the ride. Now, these repairs, though very extensive, it took many crews, many hours of work to get this roadway prepared. These are. This is only a temporary fix. Now, there is currently a design phase for this roadway, which is expected to be completed in spring of 2025. Live in Monterey County. Tori gaines, ktvu, fox two news okay. Tori thank you. Time now. 733 well, yosemite has a new Instagram Account. Its to help the lovers of the Great Outdoors and climbing enthusiasts plan your trips to the national park. Now the account is called yosemite big wall travel. It tracks daily permits for wilderness climbing and the number of climbers on each individual route. Park rangers hope this traffic information will allow climbers to make better decisions on which route to take to avoid crowded climbs. One woman is in jail facing felony Assault Charges for what police are calling an unprovoked attack at a store in San Francisco. Surveillance video shows the victim walking into kansas food market in the citys potrero hill neighborhood tuesday afternoon. Moments later, another woman enters and begins hitting the victim with a bag containing a bottle of whiskey. The attack continues until the shop clerk chases the attacker away. I think the video tells one part of the story, but you know this is a real person with a real history, and the video doesnt share what that history is. Police arrested 26 year old Jessica Blasi of oakland shortly after the attack. She appeared in court yesterday. Her Attorney Says shes dealing with Serious Mental Health issues. Lets go to the bay bridge toll plaza. You can see theres a little bit of a backup we havent had a lot to talk about at, and im okay with that. We dont need a lot. Tuesday, wednesday and thursday are the busiest days of the week. We do have a little bit of slow traffic here on interstate 880. Dont worry, dont worry. Ill tell you when its over. The commute that is san mateo bridge is moving along pretty well and there have been no major problems here. As you get to the south bay commute. Now, what about the weather at 738 . Lets bring steve back in to tell us more about that. Thank you, mr. Mvp. Appreciate that. All right. We do have a huge fog bank huge. Well out to the Sacramento Valley i mean for midmay now theyve been hot but theyll cool down obviously today. But when you get low cloud deck to make it all the way out that far Sacramento Roseville yuba city there you go. So thats a heck of a push. Not only there, but look at Southern California socked in the may gray big time there in los angeles, Santa Barbara down to san diego. I dont think this patterns really changing all that much. Itll be subtle changes, but i think it takes us at the end of the may and into june with kind of a favoring that trend here. Bigger fog bank drizzle bases have lifted, had no problem flying over the coastal hills for many here. Drizzle tilden park with almost a 10th of an inch. Bonny doon, davenport santa rosa 0. 02 to a 0. 04. Therell be more tonight. Tomorrow. Now, when low clouds make it all the way to travis. And they were at one time cloudy, so the wind speeds come down when it gets overcast, but still west to 22, and its an onshore breeze for just about everyone. 50 on the temps a few 40s, but we are running cooler today. Bodega bay 49 occidental. Good old oxy there 47. At one time sebastopol was now there 50, but i mean low 50s for many here. So its running cooler by about 2 to 5 degrees compared to yesterday. A couple systems just continue to take aim at us. The high is not that close. Its backed off well but morning fog, drizzle, sunny, breezy to windy at times. Here and it will continue. That big fog bank on saturday should get chewed up i would think a little bit, but still a blustery cooler weekend is on tap here. Drizzle looks likely again tonight into saturday morning, so temperatures will be reflected 5060 and some local drizzle friday night. Saturday morning. If youre going to the mountains because this low is going to swing into the north, could trigger some thunderstorm activity that would be early next week. So of lake tahoe, maybe central sierra. Keep that in mind. Stratus quo for us. Low overcast, drizzle some breaks in, but not many. There were a lot more yesterday than today, thats for sure. 50, 60, 70 on the temps here, i reluctantly went 76 in concord because they were only 71 yesterday, which was. Thats one for the books, but it does look quiet and no cooler. There may be a little bump up early next week. Steve, thank you. The bay area just celebrated its biggest day for bicycling yesterday with bike to wherever day. Bike shop owners say that sales surged past 5 billion in 2020. At the start of the pandemic, but the industry has hit a real slump since then. They say one challenge has been finding a lack of finding enough mechanics who can actually assemble the bikes. But another setback is that many people have lost interest in biking. Our industry, were urging people to get back out on your bicycles to find the passion that two wheels brings. To use bicycles as a source of transportation action. One reason for a slump in sales is that everyone who wanted a bike bought one early on in the pandemic, and of course, you dont buy a new bike every year unless youre some people. Last year, bike sales were down nearly a quarter from 2020, so this all has us thinking about whats in our garage. Well turn to andre senior here in the newsroom here, a question that really has us all thinking andre. Yeah its got me thinking to believe it or not, this morning were asking some viewer reaction here. We know those pandemic era bikes in your garage. So are you using them . Were asking, are you biking more or less in the post pandemic era . The answer is yes. Im biking more. No, im biking less or no. But i want to try. All you need to do is scan the qr code and go. Or you can go to ktvu. Com vote. And i can tell you firmly david garcia, but i am in the category where the bike is locked up in the garage. Oh no. Yeah did you use it at the early part of the pandemic . I did, i did, i got it because of that and i used it for a long time. But lately i, you know, i just dont anymore. You see i dont have one, so im not okay. So there you go. Yeah i wish i had one. We have more than enough to spare you. Yeah. You guys bike bikes for all of you. My husband and sons live on two wheels, so. But its an interesting one for sure. At the beginning of the pandemic, a lot of people went out and bought bright, shiny bikes, and theyre just sitting in a lot of things. We bought a lot of weights. Yeah, ke hings to ig the courts in San Francisco, the citys rec and Park Commission passed an initiative that would require people to pay a 5 reservation fee to play at 28 of its 66 locations. The citys point in time count shows total homelessness in San Francisco increased by 7 from 2022 to 2024. There are more than 8300 people now experiencing homelessness in the city. This, according to city researchers. Now, at the same time, city leaders point to the fact the number of People Living on streets, in tents or on vehicles is actually on the decline. And we see that here. The number of people without shelter decreased by 1 since 2022, a whopping 16. If you compare it to the 2019 numbers, nearly half of the citys Homeless Population is currently sheltered. The city data also point out that Youth Homelessness has decreased by 9, but the number of families who are homeless has gone up sharply by 94 since 2022 to now, 437 families. The city also found that its chronically Homeless Population increased by 9. More than 2900 people have been identified as chronically homeless. The city of San Francisco also says its new Homeless Outreach program has connected thousands of people with help. During its first year. The city says the Homeless Engagement Assistance Response Team, called heart for short, has responded to almost 14,000 calls, including 80 of calls to three one 1 or 9 one one involving unhoused people and 70 of calls related to sidewalk and street encampments. The city is currently sending other calls involving homeless people, including some for trespassing and suspicious persons. Calls to the Heart Program at the state capitol, the senate and Assembly Appropriations committee sifted through more than a thousand bills and blocked many of them due to californias budget crunch in the state assembly, lawmakers passed bills that attempted to crack down on retail theft and a proposed constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to clean air, water and environment committees, though blocked several high profile proposals, including one that was a step toward the legalization of psychedelics and another that was an attempt to establish a Single Payer Health care system in california. I think its no secret where the budget is today. You know, we have an obligation to balance the budget here in california. We cant go into debt. So we have to be very judicious with the budget. I mean, we definitely there were bills that i have been big supporters of in years past, that its just a challenging budget time. And so we needed to be responsible, responsible with taxpayers money. So thats why we had to make some tough calls today. Just last week, the governor unveiled his proposed spending plan to address the budget deficit, estimated at more than 56 billion over the next two years. And one bill that did pass an important hurdle will require the state to issue a formal apology for slavery. That bill requires the state to apologize for its role in instituting slave laws and discriminatory practices. The bill is part of a package of measures introduced back in february, meant to bring reparations to descendants of people who were enslaved. It now heads to the state senate all right. 817 its been so far, so good. Lets not jinx it, sal. What do you see out there . I exactly agree, garcia. No news is good news. Lets go out and see what we have. Now, you can see that the traffic on highway four still a little bit slow coming up to the concord side. Ive been looking at chp list. We dont seem to have a lot going on at the bay bridge. 880, a little bit slow, san mateo bridge looks pretty good. There is one problem, and that would be southbound 17 before 85. Theyre clearing a crash, but they just cleared the lanes and, boom, the traffic is much better once they did that. 817 lets bring steve back in with todays weather. Thank you, kind sir. Yes, sir. All right, i dont usually talk about low clouds out to sacramento, but thats what we had today. And even into Southern Lake county. Thank you, chloe, for that. That doesnt happen all that often. Made it up to williams there. And even yuba city. Looks like its burning off, though, but even Fairfield Travis had cloudy skies. Thats thats kind of rare all the way up to ukiah. However, there are some breaks now showing up, including in San Francisco, which is starting to get some along the peninsula as well. You can see some of that burning off menlo park, san mateo, south San Francisco, into the city, glen park and ocean beach both reporting some sun. So theres a little bit out there. Drizzle last 24 hours in park. Bonnie doon, davenport, santa rosa to name just a few between. 02 and almost a 10th of an inch 50s on the temps, 57 looks popular. San carlos, menlo park in Mountain View you break through that fog, boom. The temp pops up, which is the same as vacaville boy. Dont say that all the time. And may 17th, thats for sure. Pittsburgh is in there. 57, kensington 52. Though they were down to 49 at one time. Clayton was also down to 49. Now 53, north dublin was 50, now 53, Castro Valley 53. Cool pattern. Were running about 2 to 5 degrees cooler than yesterday. This low up yonder up here will dig in. Now the track is the key here. It may end up on the east side of the sierra, or it may end up a little bit more in eastern nevada. Either way, its what we call the heights. Upper level heights are going to drop the thickness measure. The atmosphere is going to drop. What does that mean, steve . Cooler. It means cooler. Morning fog, drizzle, sunny, breezy for some, we cant get around this pattern, and it favors a cooling. I think therell be a big fog bank. Saturday should clear out sunday, but a windy pattern as that low drops into nevada could not only give us more drizzle late tonight, tomorrow morning. But if youre going to the mountains, theres some hints that maybe some activity popping up there. Truckee. Kirkwood. Mammoth. You get those boomers there, so keep that in mind if you are going up there. And also windy. I mean they had some mid 80s there. I think theyll be in the 60s though. On monday up in reno. Thank you antonio for that as well. Low overcast drizzle fog then sun. Nice to mild, breezy to windy 50s 60s by the water. And then well go 70s inland and does not look very warm until maybe around tuesday or wednesday. Next week well get a little pop steve thank you. Interstate six, 80 and 80 in western contra costa have a little bit of slow traffic, but for the most part, this friday commute is looking very good. The time now. 830 lets go back to the headlines. Thank you. Sal. New this morning. Highway one through big sur just reopened after being closed for more than six weeks due to marchs massive storms. Repairs were completed eight days ahead of schedule. Ktvu tori gaines has been there all morning live in Monterey County with why the timing is so important here. Tori good morning garcia. The timing of this reopening is absolutely key for these coastal communities, which see millions. Excuse me, not millions. Tons of visitors. Every year. Now that this roadway is reopened, im going to take a step out of the way so you can see some traffic may be peppering its way through this morning, one of the one direction convoys earlier during the closure, one direction convoys were scheduled as a temporary solution to the problem of the slip out of this road. Now, initially they were also they were intended only for essential workers and local residents. But authorities aim to keep the stress on the roadway to a minimum, especially as repairs were underway some days. In april, they canceled the convoys altogether due to wet weather. Caltrans says those challenges are part of navigating roads on the coast. Conversation between the highway, the oceans and the mountain, and trying to meet the challenge that Mother Nature gives us. Crews began working around the clock in midapril. Two sets of 12 hour shifts in order to get the roadway repaired. Now, construction on this two lane highway was tricky. Business as you can see here. In this picture, a crane held repair crews suspended in a basket over the edge of the roadway, over 170ft above the ocean, something that could only be done in very specific weather conditions. Now governor gavin newsom visited the site earlier this month when he signed an emergency proclamation, which would help secure 100 million in federal funding for repairs across the state due to recent storms. Now, earlier this morning, we spoke with some folks at, down at Big Sur River in who are visiting big sur from la. Ive been driving down, on the highway one now thats like, yeah, amazing. So you got to actually come down now that its open. Exactly. Yeah. We took the convoy. They spent three weeks telling the world that it was closed. But now we spoke with local residents who also wanted to emphasize that though this closure near rocky creek bridge is open, there is still another slide south of big sur that is impacting traffic. Now caltrans is asking drivers as this roadway reopens to use caution through the area. Now these repairs though, they were very extensive, very, very many crews as i said, worked on this round the clock. They are only temporary. Its a temporary fix. Were expecting to see the next phase, which is the design phase. Its currently in process now. Were expecting to see the finished results of that in spring of 2025. Live in Monterey County. Tori gaines, ktvu, fox two news. Tori thank you. Your time now is 833. A San Francisco woman walks into a market, then is brutally attacked in what seems to have been unprovoked. Ktvu s Christien Kafton describes what happened in this video during the stunning video and the charges now facing the attacker. Surveillance video of the attack on tuesday afternoon, posted to nextdoor is shocking. The victim walks into the kansas food market in potrero hill. Moments later, another woman enters and begins hitting the victim from behind with a bag containing a bottle of jack daniels whiskey. That woman then begins pulling the victims hair and punching her until the victim falls to the floor. The attack continues until the shop clerk runs off the assailant. San Francisco Police arrested 26 year old Jessica Blasi from oakland shortly after the attack. She appeared in court where prosecutors formally charged her with felony assault. Through her attorney, she pled not guilty. So the next process is we do have some concerns about Mental Health. I dont know, miss blasi. She was having a challenging time explaining sort of some of her background and so what well do is we ask the court to do an incustody assessment of her Mental Health condition in court, the prosecutor said she struck the victim at least ten times in a flurry of blows. The District Attorneys Office releasing a statement about the attack, saying in part , quote, it is random acts of violence like this that negatively impact a feeling of safety in communities. Blazes defense attorney said the bottle in the attack was plastic, not glass, and at the time of the incident, blasi was wearing a hospital bracelet and may have recently been released from nearby zuckerberg San Francisco general hospital, just a few blocks away from the incident. Her defenders said. While the incident may have been captured on video, it doesnt necessarily tell the whole story. I think the video tells one part of the story, but you know, this is a real person with a real history and the video doesnt share with that. History is the shopkeeper who drove off. The attacker didnt want to talk on camera, but neighbors in the area say theyre surprised to hear about the unprovoked attack. I mean, its, you know, a big city, right . Well, a small, big city and stuff happens, but it is a little bit surprising. I think, like generally its a really safe neighborhood. The suspect in this case is due back in court at the end of the month. The low cloud deck, when it makes it all the way up to ukiah, even Southern Lake county and out to the Sacramento Valley. Its retreating, but made it up to yuba city, williams, roseville, sacramento, live oak, even stockton. Yet i think for areas to the north there were some areas had low clouds all day, east bay temps still mainly stuck in the 50s. So thats kind of a rarity to see this late in the day, you know. But thats what were dealing with here. This kind of a pattern here. The high is just too far offshore. Its a weak high pressure. This system this low. Its either going to track pretty close to the east side of the sierra or a little bit more over towards eastern nevada, but that could easily fire up some activity in the mountains, i think sunday, monday. If youre going up to tahoe, keep an eye on things. Morning fog, drizzle, sunny. If you have that already, breeze will pick up. Not too bad if you get a south wind, but if you get a west southwest it can be roaring. Big fog Bank Saturday windy coolers. The way it looks as this low drops in again, the low is going to end up more over here eventually, so that will play into cooler temps for us. Should scour out. I think the fog and low clouds. But tonight. Tomorrow i would expect more drizzle and then temperatures will stay mainly in the 60s and low to mid 70s at best. But look at up in the mountains starts early on monday into tuesday. So truckee, kirkwood, mammoth could be some activity popping up depending on the track of that low stratus quo. Unless you have the sun already, then youre one of the, you know, fortunate, fortunate son daughter if you will, because most locations are dealing with the gray 50, 60, 70 on the temps here. In fact, i would not expect any warm up until maybe early next week, probably tuesday. Thank you steve. A string of new movies hits theaters this weekend. The bay area just celebrated its biggest day for bicycling yesterday with bike to wherever day bike shop owners though say sales surged past 5 billion back in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. But boy the industry has hit a slump since then. They say one challenge has been finding mechanics who can assemble the bikes. Another setback is that many people have lost interest in biking our industry. Were urging people to get back out on your bicycles to find the passion that two wheels brings. To use bicycles as a source of transportation. One reason for that slump in sales is that pretty much everyone who wanted a bike bought one early on in the pandemic last year, bike sales were down nearly a quarter from what we saw in 2020. All right. So were asking about reaction from this very story here. We know those pandemic era bikes are in your garage. So are you using them, here weve been asking this question. Weve been asking you, are you biking more or less in the post pandemic era . The answer is yes. Im biking more. No, im biking less or no. But i want to try scan the qr code on the top right hand corner of your screen, or go to ktvu. Com vote to cast your vote. Wed love to hear from you, because i know that this question prompted reminded me about bike in my garage. Youre like, oh yeah, oh yeah, i still have that bike and cut out. Yeah, right. So i figured out because i live, i live in an area thats flat that like when i drop off my car for service, i just put the bike. I mean, this from the pandemic, i just, you know, started riding my bike for, like, things that i didnt used to ride my bike for. So youre still doing it. Youre still riding your bike . Yeah. Not as much as during the pandemic where i would just go to joy rides, but more in a utilitarian sense, you know what i mean . I got to dust mine off. All right. Yes right. Dust it off, dust it off. Oh, boy, that paints an ugly picture, let me tell you. All right. Thank you, for some of you, lets start down around los gatos and then go up along the beautiful peninsula there, see the clearing . You get a south wind. So thats south wind and some sun. Youre like, what . Fog . Its all gone for other locations. Nope. Youre socked in big time here, especially north and east. Thats been incredible. Push of fog here all made it all the way out to the Sacramento Valley and Southern Lake county. This low up here is going to track somewhere close. If it does this there will be thunderstorm activity over the sierra. Probably sunday monday. If it does this probably not just cooler and windy, but keep it in mind if you are going to the mountains, it will mean a continuation of our pattern. No doubt about it. I think most of may here going into the end of may, will favor us being in this kind of a pattern. Cool to mild. Next tuesday might get a little pop on towns, but really theres nothing thats showing any prolonged heat or anything. If anything, its showing cooler conditions or what weve been seeing for a while. So drizzle will be back tonight into saturday morning. Looks like a blustery day on sunday, and thats the indication. Watch up in the mountains right there. Thatd be monday tuesday, depending on the track on the low. So if you have travel plans its all keep an eye on things. Stratus co one of the best cats i ever had in my life, was named stratus co.
