I think its awesome. Its amazing. All across the bay area, fans of mario and luigi rejoicing. I think its exciting that were getting a Nintendo Store slated to open in San Franciscos union square sometime in 2025. The japan based video game giant announced friday. Im really excited for the new store. Ill definitely be going there hopefully day one. Right now, the only Nintendo Store in the country is located in new york city. 10,000ft s of accessories, apparel, and of course, games. And people travel to go out there to, you know, visit that store from like everywhere. So to have that out here and it be so close is actually pretty cool. A fan since he was a kid, jose pineda, browsing through some of the nintendo nostalgia at experience share in alameda. My dad got me a super nintendo when i was like, probably like 2 or 3 years old. Hoping the new shop also offers a boost to union square, which has seen an exodus of stores from the neighborhood over the last few years. People could go out, have a day in San Francisco instead of going, you know, to the same old places like the wharf, you know, the beaches. They could go play video games somewhere. You talk about video games or just enjoy nintendo in general. Thats the hope. According to the union square alliance, which lauded the news in a statement, saying in part, quote, nintendos decision to launch its second u. S. Store in San Franciscos iconic union square is a powerful testament to the districts resurgence and strategic significance. So what exactly makes a Nintendo Store so special . They have a lot of exclusive merch there, so you can buy like hoodies, hats, t shirts for a lot of franchises that you dont see. So theres some more obscure ones like arms or metroid that you dont see a lot of merch for. Theres, of course, like the exclusive marios, theres a plushies, and the list goes on enough to get mayor london breed excited to calling the announcement, quote, great news for union square and fans from everywhere. Fans like nassir, i feel good. Rest assured hell have a chaperon when those doors swing open. I get to experience this without traveling too, so its a win win situation. And plus, once again, its good for the community. So we have something to kind of put the bay area back on the map. Now of course, the big question on everyones mind where exactly is this store going to go in union square for that, youre going to have to stay tuned. Nintendo says it will be releasing more details as the opening nears in San Francisco. Zac sos, ktvu fox two news. A Group Seeking the recall of oakland mayor shengtao says they have enough signatures to put the recall on the november ballot. The group called oakland united to recall. Shengtao says theyve collected more than 30,000 signatures, surpassing the required 25,000. They say when they collect over 40,000 signatures, then they will submit them for verification. They argue that mayor tao has failed to get a handle on crime, and they do believe this recall will be successful. With respect to the 40,000 that sends the message that we already have more people signing to recall you than who voted for you to get elected in the first place. If the recall passes, an election will be held to choose a new mayor for oakland. We did reach out to the Mayors Office for a comment today, but we have not yet heard back. Just like the wife. Nobody knows how these mosquitoes arrived here, but the fact that they are taking hold in a residential neighborhood is of particular concern. As of april, our Surveillance Team has found 12 mosquitoes, which poses a significant public risk to our community. The mosquitoes in question are called aedes aegypti, and while they are not native to california, they do exist in some counties in central and Southern California. But the concern is that they can transmit diseases which are harmful to humans. The mosquito is known to transmit diseases like zika, yellow fever, chikungunya and dengue. Doctor monica roy, with Santa Clara County public health, says the health risk right now is low. But stopping the mosquitoes now is important. If the mosquito were to become established, this would pose a risk to everyone in our community but would be particularly concerning for our pregnant people. Elderly family members and those with compromised immune systems. At any given time, there are between 30 and 45 traps like this one in this neighborhood. Bay area forecast update as we do head into the weekend, and at least in the short term, were talking about a cooldown out there. We have lots of clouds to deal with for tonight into tomorrow morning, and take a look at the highs from this afternoon. Just some upper 50s, some 60s and still a few low 70s out there. A cloudy start tomorrow morning and then we will have some gusty winds developing in the afternoon hours. Sunday partly sunny skies. And then as we head into memorial day on monday, we are expecting some patchy morning fog. It should be the warmest day of the upcoming weekend. For right now though, we have a little system moving into northern california, this front kind of falling apart here, but this will usher in that cooler air. We also have lots of low clouds regrouping near the coast and already pushing back into the bay. And we also have that cool breeze out there. You can see some observations right now around 26 to over 31mph out toward sfo. Winds out of the west at 21 miles an hour. Heres our live camera looking out toward the golden gate bridge, a solid overcast here, and theres the chance. A fairly good chance we could have some drizzle first thing tomorrow morning. So just factor that into your plans for your saturday morning. Overnight temperatures will be in the upper 40s to the 50s, and heres that cloudy start tomorrow morning for your saturday into the afternoon hours. We are expecting partly to mostly sunny skies. We definitely scale back in the cloud cover. Theres the eventual temperature range from 6056 to the 60s to right around 70 degrees for tomorrow. All because this system has been dropping in from the north. This will kind of keep things on the cooler side for your saturday. Once this moves on out by sunday to monday, we do warm up those temperatures just a little bit. Theres no heat at all in our forecast, at least for the weekend, but temperatures will be trending up for sunday and into monday. Highs for tomorrow. Once again, we have that cloudy start and then into the afternoon hours. No 90s, no 80s. Warmest locations struggling to make it into the lower 70s tomorrow afternoon. And the winds could be picking up around 20 to 25, maybe 30 miles an hour. You could see a little bit of a bump in the numbers into sunday, and then by monday, the warmest locations inland, close to 80 degrees. Well kind of hold on to that pattern for tuesday. And into wednesday. So plan on that chilly start to the weekend. But then temperatures recover a little bit by sunday and into monday. Okay, mark. Thank you.
