As a resident and parent living in the West Industrial neighbourhood, which has no parks of its own, but borders Optimist Park, this is simultaneously shocking, frustrating, and heartbreaking. The rationale for this site is that the original proposed location is too far for some children to travel, yet this is the logical consequence of amalgamation. And where was the consultation about closing our schools in the first place?
