Palestinians even as israel keeps up its airstrikes. An hostages relatives plea for their safe return. More than 200 people were abducted by hamas during the attacks. Friends and family ask the Israeli Government to prioritize their release. I am nicole frolich. To our viewers on pbs and all of you joining us from around the world, welcome to the program. Israeli forces have continued to strike targets in the gaza strip throughout the day, including in the south of the territory, where israel told gazans to head for their own safety. When explosion in Southern Gaza killed and injured several people one explosion in Southern Gaza killed and injured several people. Report to say at least four people were killed. Hamas blames israeli airstrikes for the casualties. I asked dws reporter what israel is saying about airstrikes in the south of gaza. So the idea says it will strike targets across the entire gaza strip be at the north or south, wherever theres a threat by hamas aired hamas. Theres a likelihood the idf will target it and this is worrying for the People Living in the north of gaza and many of those have followed the idfs advice or order to vacate that area and move to the south because this was regarded as a safe area. Now, there have been strikes in the Southern Region today in the area of a major city in Southern Gaza and another sensitive area around the Border Crossing with egypt, where, at the moment, on the egyptian side, trucks are waiting with much needed humanitarian aid that is supposed to go into gaza as of tomorrow. In addition to that, there are people in gaza, those with dual citizenship or foreigners hoping to be able to leave through the Border Crossing if this area continues to be targeted. Its not yet clear if this will be possible. Nicole israels defense minister has been visiting troops on the gaza border. Max that is correct. The defense minister made a visit to the south of israel today and carried out an assessment of the troops and announced whoever sees gaza from afar now will see inside, so it sounds like hes preparing troops for a long anticipated and imminent ground offensive. He also added this offensive could take a very long time. This make take weeks or even months he said. Nicole that was max reporting from jerusalem. Demonstrators have taken to the streets across the muslim world in solidarity with the people of gaza. One rally was held in his temple and the turkish president is a fervent supporter of the palestinian held in istanbul and the turkish president is a fervent supporter of the palestinian cause. Another night of rage in his temple in istanbul. The protesters blamed israel for a deadly blast at a hospital in gaza city. Israel commits war crimes against humanity and we have to be sending out the word not only in muslim countries or even muslims. It is war crimes against humanity so we should be standing with the people in gaza. This horrible violation of human rights. Turkish president erdogan was also quick to assign blame. He called the hospital blast the latest example of israels attacks devoid of the most basic human values. Meanwhile, the Israeli Military says it can prove that a rocket launched by the Palestinian Militant Group Islamic Jihad is to blame. Islamic jihad in any case, consequences for ties between turkey and israel could be dire. Recently, erdogan has been working to repair relations with israel, which have long suffered from his support for the palestinians. A few weeks ago at the u. N. General assembly in new york, he even met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in person for the first time, but now, the fragile rapprochement could be over. What we are starting to see increasingly is erdogan and the government of turkey taking a strong antiisraeli position to the extent that i think erdogan is more interested in abandoning this socalled lukewarm rapprochement, which was never realistic to begin with. One of the major reasons analysts say is erdogans relationship with hamas. In july, he held talks with the mosts political leader with hamass political leader in ankara. They have met many times over the years and turkey has been accused of providing a safe haven for members of the group. During his more than two decades in power, erdogan has always been a fervent supporter of the palestinian cause, and it resonates well with many here in turkey. To this day, he refuses to classify hamas as a terrorist organization unlike most of his western allies. And along with iran and qatar, turkey is an actor that enables hamass activities on an international scale. Erdogan moved to ensure that hamas found office space, democratic recognition diplomatic recognition and harboring leaders inside turkey. Following hamass atrocities in israel on october 7, erdogan has been trying to use his ties with the group to play a mediating role. The government says they are negotiating the release of hostages held by hamas in the gaza strip, but how much influence does his government have . There means to be seen. My view would be to suggest that their influence with hamas is negligible but turkey offering itself as a mediator between israel and hamas authorities is insincere because the turkish relationship with israel is tenuous. The authorities dont trust the intentions of erdogan. While propalestinian groups are calling for more protests in the coming days, israel has told its citizens to leave turkey immediately amid fears of reprisal attacks. Nicole israel has confirmed that, from friday, it will allow a limited number of trucks carrying humanitarian aid to enter gaza. The crossing from egypt is the only frontier posed that israel does not control. Israel has said it will not block supplies provided. The United Nations is calling for unrestricted access for eight. The water may be flowing but theres no guarantee its safe to drink. Gazas Water Supplies on the brink of collapse. The United Nations says more than 2 million face dehydration and waterborne diseases. As gaza runs dry, many have no other option but to drink contaminated water. Often, we wait for two hours, and at the end, find out theres no water anymore. Water is life. No human can survive without water whether its tranquil or not. No one can survive without water. We fill these bottles just to go back and find that its not drinkable. In the south, gazans waited for hours to buy fuel. The population here has swelled after hundreds of thousands fled from northern gaza. I have been waiting four or five hours and now they say that diesel has run out. We dont know what to do. We dont know where to go. The israelis told us to evacuate but they follow us and kill us there also. Why do they tell us to evacuate . Just kilis in their homes. Israel has blocked supplies through his crossings into gaza following the terror attacks by hamas. After talks with israel and egypt, the u. S. Announced a deal to allow a limited amount of aid from egypt into gaza, but the United Nations says the besieged territory needs more. We urgently need an agreement by all relevant parties to allowed for the regular provision of Emergency Needs throughout gaza to get the level of distribution of assistance up to what it was before these terrible weeks. 100 trucks a day providing assistance throughout gaza to people in need. We need to get back to that level of ambition. In neighboring egypt at the Border Crossing, trucks are waiting for the green light to enter gaza and deliver the desperately needed aid. Nicole the World Health Organizations regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean was asked why it is so difficult to get aid into gaza. One of the difficulties we are facing now, we know their odds are not working. It has been damaged by strikes and trucks cannot move inside and thats why theres no coordination between regional authorities and other authorities on the other side to repair the roads and make sure that they get there. Nicole lack of access to clean water appears to be the biggest challenge at the moment. What are your colleagues on the ground telling you . They are telling us it is bad, as you have reported on your program. Theres is a severe shortage of water, clean water, either for the public or facilities, and that is worrying us from a Public Health perspective, the spread of waterborne diseases, like, for example, cholera, dehydration, children, women, elderly, people in high school that people in hospitals. Nicole as part of this partial opening, fuel will not be allowed into gaza. How important is that . Its a very important thing, nicole, because many hospitals are now starting to not be functioning, closing their services because unavailability of fuel, and this puts the lives of tens or hundreds of people into danger because of losing services they need 24 hours a day, seven days a week during this crisis. Nicole is anywhere safe for gazans right now to shelter from airstrikes and bombs that, even where they that that bombs that come even where they were not supposed to be. Used to be hospitals where the safest places in these situations. Unfortunately now, whats happened two days back, hospitals are becoming a target. There are 136 targets recorded by the who since the escalation, leading to 16 deaths among health care workers. Around 80 ambulances have been damaged because of the targeting. Four hospitals are not functioning and they are not functioning because of the attacks. Nicole that was the World Health Organizations regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean. Israel says more than 200 people were taken hostage by hamas during the terror attacks earlier this month. That includes the elderly, the disabled, children and even babies. The hostages captured in southern israel and take into gaza likely to be used as a bargaining tool. Their distraught families are pressuring the Israeli Government to prioritize their safe return. On a wall outside the Israeli Defense ministry in tel aviv and on walls across israel, the images of those taken and missing. The Israeli Government must focus first of all on doing whatever is necessary in order to release the hijacked people. Any october 7 attack, Hamas Terrorists killed indiscriminately and kidnapped civilians, soldiers, the elderly, disabled and children, so many children. Now the hostages are somewhere in the gaza strip or under it in the untold hundreds of kilometers of tunnels hamas has built. Now there will be lots of effort put into coordinating identifying and locating where the hostages are being kept as much as possible and, of course in the background, theres talk of potentially hostage rescue attempts, but these are very, very dangerous options with not always a guaranteed chance of success. What hamas recognizes, scott walker says, is israel has consistently prioritized the safe return of their citizens. Case in point, the 19yearold israeli soldier held by hamas for five years. Israel got him back by giving up more than 1000 palestinian prisoners thomas. They always want to take captives. They know what captives can do. One israeli soldier that is the price israel is willing to pay. The hostages ruthlessly taken on october 7 and likely guarded now by some of the hamas kidnappers face a lengthy captivity and indeed the threat of death from the captors. The families of those hostages are shaken and afraid, desperate for any word, and hopeful that the images of their sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents remain in the forefront of israels moves against hamas. Im joined by two relatives of four the hostages taken by hamas, you, whose sister was kidnapped, and you, whose aunt and uncle have been taken. We will start with you. When did you last hear from your sister and sisterinlaw, who has also been taken by hamas . Where were they . I was in south africa with my father when we saw the last message from my sister that said that they are all right with a picture of her and her three years old kid and at that point it is kind of weird to say it but its kind of usual. They have a routine getting into the shelter so it was not very afraid. But as the time passed on we realized that this is very different situation and this is unusual, extremely unusual, and since 10 00 a. M. Saturday morning, we have not heard from her. Nicole what about you . What was the last you knew of your uncle and aunt . So, like roni said, on saturday morning, we woke up from missile alarms, again, not something too unusual, but then i heard on the tv that terrorists have broken into israel and they are massacring or murdering members of the kibitzing of the kib butzim near the border and it was pictured in gaza and thats how i found out. Nicole you found out on tv. Adi yes. Nicole and they were in one of the sites of adi yes. That area took a hard hit in this terror attack. 114 deaths for now and that number just keeps rising and lots of hostages also from the kibbutz. Its very concerning. My mom is from there. She grew up there. Its such a nice place. I used to grow up there all the time i used to go there all the time. It feels like a nightmare, a horror movie. Nicole you unfortunately share this fate with many other families in israel now. Does it give you any sort of solace that you can share this agony, that you are in this together . Adi i will say theres a lot of solidarity right now between the people of israel. People are volunteering to help. People were called up to the army and before in october we were divided in israel over political issues but now i think its safe to say that we are all there in this together. It does not matter right now about politics. We just want to get this over with, to bring these hostages back home, and to live peacefully. Nicole and its a top priority of the government to bring the hostages home. Have they been in touch with you and your families . Are they keeping you in the loop . Are they keeping you informed . Do they know anything about where your family members are . Roni i think that our government has everyone was really shocked. Nobody expected these attacks. So it took some time for the government to understand and i think that even now they dont really understand. We dont know the final numbers of the people who were murdered or kidnapped so until now theres a lot of unknowing. The government is trying to reach us and keep us updated but they dont know. My sister still in a status of missing although im sure that shes kidnapped. I know it. We were at the point that she was last seen and my brother for five days was in the warfield and looking for her. No signs of blood or fights so for sure they kidnapped her after she ran away and we are waiting for information and we are waiting for a sign of life and this is also the reason that we are here in germany because we really do need every help to know what is their condition. Nicole your sister is a german citizen and your uncle is a german citizen. Your aunt is a german citizen. What support have you been receiving from the German Government after you arrived here . Roni we arrived here after we were in this insane movie in israel and we decided that we need germany by our side and actually not by our side, with our side, because we are german citizens and germany should be a real active a real actor, not only a thirdparty. This is a matter also of germany so we came here and i have to say, really, we already met the chancellor and mr. Baerbock and a lot of people in the parliament and we really feel a lot of support and commitment to us to help our loved ones and i really do hope that they will do more than everything that they can, first of all, to bring us a sign of life, and then, right after then, get them released. Nicole there is talk about an imminent ground offensive, of course, also with the aim of freeing the hostages. How do you feel about that . Because it comes with a lot of danger, of course. Adi i do not know what to say because i am not familiar with what actions should be. All i know is i want israel in germany as well to do anything they can to bring back the hostages. We dont know what it takes but i am sure that they will do anything it takes. Nicole do you feel heard at this point . Adi in germany i have been here for two days and we have received this love and support. The politicians we met and also the public love we were receiving. It really is comforting to be here although there are still antisemitic actions here in berlin but that is everywhere in the world right now. Because we are not safe everywhere, not in israel and not outside of israel. Nicole thats a very unfortunate reality. If you had a message for your sister, what would it be . Roni the only thing the only thought i think my sister has in her mind right now that she does not know that her daughter is alive. She does not know that she, with her father, succeeded to hide and got back to the army force, so this is the only thing that i would tell her because i know that she knows that i love her. I know she knows that every one of us, her family, is doing everything we can to get her back, so i dont need to tell you that. Nicole what about you . Adi i hope they are both safe. I hope they are together. I am concerned about my aunt as well because she has an autoimmune disease. She takes a lot of pills every day. Its been two weeks now that she has not received any medical attention, i assume. We dont know. Thats why we need the help of humanitarian aid for the hostages as soon as possible because we dont know how much time she has left without those. Roni time is running out. This is not an event that happened in the seventh of october. This is still we are still under attack. My sister and at least 200 more kidnapped people. They are still under attack. And i also would like to say that this is not an issue about israel and palestine. Really, its not. This is about terror and the liberal world. They were not started a war against our army because of ideological issues. This is innocent people, women, children, old people, ill people, that are now in a war zone just they need help. And they have not done anything that anything bad and their time is running out. Nicole thank you so much for sharing your story. All the best to you and your families. Adi thank you. Nicole thats it for now. You can get our news on our website. Thats dw. Com. Our handle on social media is dw news. Stay with us because after a short break i will be back to take you through the day. Byebye. The rafa Border Crossing between egypt and gaza is expected to open friday to allow for limited amounts of aid to gaza. Amidst growing fears the conflict could spread, hezbollah fighters more rockets at israel, resulting in the worst escalation in crossborder violence in 17 years. The british Prime Minister follows in the footsteps of the u. S. President , visiting israel in a show of support in the war against hamas. Good evening. We begin with the latest in gaza where an Israeli Ground invasion could be approaching. Israeli troops are already gathered at the gaza border, but the countrys defense minister told the troops they will soon be seeing a palestinian enclave from the inside. Israel began its aerial attacks on gaza right after october 7 hamas attacks in which 14 israelis were killed and some 206 others were taken hostage. It prompted a pledge from the israeli leadership to destroy hamas. Since then, the gaza strip and its residents have been under siege. Get organized, be ready, the order will come. Thank you so much, guys. We trust you. Good luck. We will meet again. Whoever sees gaza will see it from the inside. That is a promise. The Israeli Defense minister speaking there. 370 375 palestinians have been killed in gaza. More than one million others have been internally displaced. Today has been another deadly day with extracts on the south of the gaza strip, strikes in which children have been killed. Israel declared southern areas as being safe zones. A palestinian journalist says 16 palestinian reporters have also been killed since israel began bombarding the area. Egypt has taken further steps to allow aid into gaza. The first deliveries are expected tomorrow. The United Nations flag will be raised at the rafa Border Crossing the rafah Border Crossings and the United Nations will be overseeing with the egyptian and red crescents societies overseeing aid distribution to ensure it goes to civilians. Trucks full of humanitarian aid continue to amass at the egyptian border. About 20 of them have been allowed to got cross into gaza. Volunteers have been camping on the egyptian side as they wait for the border to open. I have been here for our palestinian brothers since october 7. We are staying here for palestinians. We will not leave until the aide enters palestine, to gaza, to our palestinian brothers. Some of the trucks here have been waiting for nearly a week, and more aid is on the way, including from the eu. We are talking about 56 or 54 times, rather, of essential humanitarian supplies. This includes hygiene items, sanitary material, but also food, water, and shelter. The request to open the crossing was made by u. S. President joe biden his visit to israel. He welcomed egyptian president s cooperation but warned that continuing the aide depended on the response of thomas up hamas. I reaffirm that egypt continues humanitarian aid and is committed to transferring that aid to the gaza strip. Developments on the ground and the repeated bombings by israel on the palestinian side have prevented operations. The crossing was recently hit , killing several palestinians and damaging buildings and roads. The checkpoint is the only path in and out of gaza that is not controlled by israel. Tom for more analysis, we speak to a global fellow with the Wilson Centers middle east program. Thank you very much for joining us. We got this news that aid should start entering gaza tomorrow. Would you say that is the most significant achievement that was made during the visit to the region by the u. S. President . I would not describe it as an achievement. This is a minimum of the rules of war, to allow some humanitarian aid. It is a large population. It has been near 12 days since this round of conflicts started. It is its how things will go. The next 24 hours looks crucial. Egypt is a key because the other Border Crossing points are not feasible now. I think the International Community should be pushing toward that objective regardless. Apart from achieving this and getting the gates of the Border Crossing open, we hope tomorrow, we think tomorrow, what else did President Biden achieved by visiting the region yesterday . The visit itself was relatively short. He spent time on air force one to get to israel more than he spent on the ground. For him, it was necessary to show the support. The preparation in the days and weeks before, first, there was a little bit of a delay, at least for a few days. The second was for him to achieve deescalation escalation of the conflict, but now he left israel, we are facing a new reality that an invasion might happen in the next days, as israelis are hinting, and we have a new escalation with iran. The objective of the visit immediately has cast doubt. I thought he should have gone with a clear plan to end the violence. He just went for a not very clear objective. There is still a need to basically come down the tension within the village. If joe biden did not manage to achieve that while he was there himself, which allies in the region can the United States count on to try to deescalate and try to address this conflict . He had the plan to meet leaders in jordan, but this was canceled by mutual agreement after what happened in the Baptist Hospital in gaza. Previous mound of conflict ended in the same way. Israel is saying this is different now. We need to destroy the infrastructure of hamas, wipe out hamas. Americans are saying we need to give israel space to do this operation. Iran is saying no. This is where we are at this point, but inevitably, the solution is mediation, ceasefire. How long it will take to get to this point is the big question in the next days at least. One of the biggest dangerous some analysts are talking about is about a miscalculation by one party or another, notably on israels northern border because hezbollah really seemed to be testing the patience of the israelis in that part of the country. Hezbollah and israel are satisfied with the rules of engagement they have had since 2006, but now hezbollah has been increasingly under pressure to basically act as a deterrent for israel, that if you go on the ground in gaza, we are going to do this, but so far, it has been limited. I think for now, is it still, but when the Ground Invasion starts, we will see more tensions, but i think it is relatively linked to what is happening in gaza. Now the region is basically on the verge, but i dont see a huge escalation because both sides are not very invested in such a scenario, at least for now. Least of all, the lebanese people who have been through enough. Thank you so much indeed for taking the time to speak to us this evening. Thank you. Tom let us get some more analysis on what has been happening today. Im joined by shirley from the news desk. Lets get the latest on the hospitals. We have not talked about them for a while. What do we know . The Israeli Army Says it has notified the families of 203 hostages and prisoners of war, and it says that among them, there are roughly 30 miners, 30 children, and 10 to 20 elderly people. That is information about their identities, social groups, but what does it really mean . We know there have been negotiations through qatar, not directly between israelis and hamas, but through other countries. Qatar has great influence on hamas and has relations with israel. As leaders have been meeting with israeli leaders for two decades, and this evening, the former leader of hamas told the station that hamas has a number of Israeli Soldiers held hostage, which is enough to negotiate releasing the palestinian prisoners held in israel, so what does that mean . Does that mean that they have enough soldiers to let go the civilians and show they are not as barbaric as they have been criticized for what they have done and release these civilians . Thats probably unlikely. Does it mean they are ready to negotiate since he is talking about negotiating an exchange . The israelis are divided. Will israeli authorities be ready to release some 8000 palestinian prisoners, security prisoners back into the gaza strip . Some say yes. Even former top generals say there are already 30,000 to 40,000 hamas members in the gaza strip. 8000 more will not make that much of a difference. They will continue to fight them. They have to get civilians, hostages out of there. Other people say that is out of the question. No negotiating with hamas. They are pressing on with the ground operation that is still ahead. We also know the israelis had hoped to get some releases of hostages against humanitarian aid, if they authorized humanitarian aid, but that was blocked. The americans say into the israelis very quickly that is not negotiable. Humanitarian aid is not something you have talks about. It needs to go in as soon as possible because the situation is to dramatic. Not enough food, water, or medicine for the palestinians in the gaza strip, but the situation is extremely complex. Indeed. There are so many dimensions. Fair to say all the while, the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has had a pretty complicated kind of year and is very much under fire from at least an element of israeli society. Yes, and we can say a majority. Even within the right wing party, we have been hearing he has not spoken much. Everyone has taken responsibility, the head of intelligence, the head of security of the south. Many Security Leaders have said, this is my responsibility. We made terrible mistakes, terrible failures, but Benjamin Netanyahu, everyone in israel is asking the question, why is he not taking responsibility for all these failures as Prime Minister . This starts with the people in the south of israel, those who stayed behind who continue to be there because they need to keep working on their farms, and they are still there even though there are many security risks. They say, we want to see him here. Why cant he be like zelenskyy and go and take personal risks . Why is he just staying with top officials and World Leaders and not talking to the people and taking responsibility . Many say this is not the time to point fingers at netanyahu. After the war, he will probably leave many people saying this is probably the end of an era, so many people want to set politics aside, still, politics is very much part of the war because it will determine what will happen in the gaza strip, how the war will press ahead, what the plan is. Joe biden says he is worried he has not heard what the day after will look like, and the far right elements in the Israeli Government really could have an influence. They have a very different idea what they want to see in the day after than other members of the government who are mainstream, and the far right people say we need to reoccupy the gaza strip. We need to take chunks of the gaza strip. It will never look the same. We will take control or parts of it, and others are saying that would be suicidal. The current idea is to have some kind of security area along the border, but israeli politics is very much central here, both about the war, the operation, and also what is happening in israel, in the west bank, in the north. Everyone says politics is for later, but it is very much part of today and what is happening in days to come. Indeed, a divided country. Perhaps some say made it more vulnerable to this kind of tragedy. Thank you very much for your analysis. The situation in gaza has sparked the worst escalation in 17 years on the border between israel and lebanon. Today, the militant Group Hezbollah said it fired rockets at israeli positions resulting in artillery barrage in response. The iranbacked group says 30 of its fighters have been killed so far in crossborder exchanges. One name of President Bidens visit to israel was to prevent this war from spilling over onto other fronts, but what are the risks of that . Selena it is the biggest Aircraft Carrier on the planet, deployed on the israeli coast in the Eastern Mediterranean. A second one also flying the American Flag is on its way. The United States has been flexing its muscles since hama attack on israel on october 7. It hopes to avoid using them. Washington hopes to discourage others from widening the conflict. Spillover will not only jeopardize Israeli Security according to this expert. I think the state of future security at least in the region and potentially the world, depending on what comes out is this seems to be moving increasingly rapidly towards public outrage sentiment toward israel that would be extremely hard to contain. For the last 10 days, there is been some timesdeadly exchanges of fire on israels border with lebanon, but they have been marginal and no new front in this conflict has opened up for now. The crossfire and incursion attempts by hezbollah and palestinian groups appear to be a show of support for hamas, but also a warning for israel to persuade them from going too far in gaza and keep the israeli army on their toes at the other end of the country. There has also been activity by iranbacked to militia in the south of syria. In case of a regional spillover with israels war with hamas and gaza, hezbollah and she militia in the north as well as American Military support, the threat could take a new direction. Any representation, especially diplomatic, of israel and the United States could become targets of several countries in the region and beyond. Thats without mentioning yvonnes other allies without mentioning irans other allies. Tom these fresh skirmishes have sparked fears of a second front opening up in the conflict. Andrew hillier is in northern israel and has the latest for us. A few kilometers away from israels northern border with lebanon, hundreds of cars have been parked haphazardly by the roadside. They belong to reservists who have shown up for duty at a nearby military base, heeding the call to prepare to fight. We are going roughly 3 km from the border. At the time of filming, this Community Still had not been given a mandatory evacuation order, but it still feels like a ghost town. I decided to stay open because lots of soldiers come to eat. He was born in lebanon and used to be part of the militia, backed by the lebanese army. He fled here 23 years ago. Im 42 years old. I moved here from lebanon when there was a war there and there was a war here. Every few years, there is chaos. The war of 2006 was very difficult, unlike right now. I spent 20 to 25 days in the shelter back then. Not far from here, we are meeting the towns mayor in a shelter. This becomes the town halls command center at time of crisis. He greets us wearing a bulletproof vest. Quite normally, we are a city of 24,000 people. Not anymore because of what is happening, because of the citys history, which for 36 years has endured constant missile attacks and terrorist infiltrating. I dont think any other city on the planet has endured that. People know that when tensions rise in the north, those who can take their families and belongings and leave for a safer place, mainly because here, we only have 10 seconds to hide once we hear the siren. Before we leave, the mayor insists on showing us the traces of an older rocket attack. It was carried out by hezbollah militants back in 1999. A reminder of the danger still present 24 years later. The british Prime Minister says the british Prime Minister makes a solidarity visit to israel and held talks with Benjamin Netanyahu and also with president as i cuts off. As well as offering support for israel, he stressed the need to get aid into gaza. At least nine british nationals are confirmed to have been killed in the october 7 hamas attack. Seven others remain unaccounted for. Time for a check of the top sports news. Im joined by james mussina. The war has been affecting the world of sport, including here in france. Tell us a little bit more. This is a story unfolding as we speak. Lawyer threatening to sue the interior minister. This after the interior minister accused him of having links with the muslim brotherhood. His is unbelievable frances top lawenforcement official would make such a statement. s lawyer says he is planning to file an official complaint. The last few hours, the interior minister said he would take those words back if he put a message out of support also in support of the professor who was killed in a French School last week. Staying here in france, investigators have raided the offices of the organizers of the the next Olympic Games in response to allegations of alleged favoritism when it came to awarding a contract. Organizers and Event Management firms involved in the Opening Ceremony are the main points of focus. They say they are cooperating with the investigation. Meanwhile, a french newspaper has reported that the french government has put forward a proposition to exempt International Sporting federations from paying tax.
