Local schools eligible for $22.2 million in COVID emergency relief funds

Thanks to efforts by the North Carolina General Assembly, the three public school systems in Davidson County are eligible for up to $22.2 million in COVID relief funds through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Grant Program.
Davidson County Schools are eligible for up to $13.1 million; Lexington City Schools are eligible for up to $4.6 million and Thomasville City Schools are eligible for up to $4.3 million of assistance. Davidson Charter Academy is also eligible for up to $164,527 in ESSER II funds.
Local school systems must apply for the ESSER II grant and be approved for the earmarked funds.
