State opening 2 mass vaccination clinics in southern Maine as supply grows to 55,000 doses this week
A site at the Portland Expo and another at a former retail store in Sanford will add to a growing list of options. The Maine CDC also reported 128 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, continuing a downward trend.

The state is expected to administer more than 50,000 shots this week following the authorization of a third vaccine option manufactured by Johnson & Johnson.
As of Monday, 228,724 people had received their first dose, about 17 percent of the state’s population, while 121,566 people, or 9 percent, had been fully inoculated.
