Bangalore: Drawing on shared strengths, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and University of British Columbia (UBC) signed a partnership agreement today to broaden and deepen academic and research collaborations between India and Canada. With a focus in broad areas of public and global health, researchers from the two leading institutions will work together under the new agreement to address issues of global relevance outlined in the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Both UBC and MAHE are committed to harnessing their ample resources for the greater good.
Designated as an “Institution of Eminence” by the Government of India, Manipal-based MAHE prioritizes research topics based on societal impacts and strives to be a leader in addressing literacy, poverty and health. The university excels in drug discovery and delivery, healthy solutions to conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, personalized medicine, infectious diseases, climate change, energy, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning.
