Manitowoc County high-speed chases result in three arrests

MANITOWOC - High-speed chases Saturday morning and Monday morning in Manitowoc County resulted in the arrest of three people from Milwaukee.
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig said in a news release Monday that the first incident started at 4:25 a.m. Saturday when a sheriff's deputy tried to stop a 2020 Hyundai Elantra that was speeding southbound on Interstate 43 near County Trunk Highway JJ in the township of Manitowoc Rapids.
The sheriff said the driver of the Elantra, 23-year-old Joshua Lawrence of Milwaukee, refused to stop for deputies. While exiting the interstate at U.S. 151, he collided with a curb, which caused the driver's-side tire to deflate. Lawrence then continued south on U.S. 151 with the flat tire, the sheriff said.
