Morgan Carey is suing his sister claiming his depiction in her memoir
The Meaning of Mariah Carey defamed him and caused him intentional infliction of emotional distress. Morgan is also filing suit against Carey’s publisher Henry Holt & Co. and its imprint Andy Cohen Books, along with the book’s co-author
Michaela Angela Davis, according to the 18-page lawsuit filed against the singer March 3 in New York Supreme Court.
Morgan, who lives in Hawaii, said the book falsely portrays him as “physically violent man.” Mariah wrote in the book that she had “few memories of a big brother who protected me” and that “[m]ore often, I felt I had to protect myself from him and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too.”
