MATTAPOISETT — Starting mid-January, students in grades K-2 will return for in-person learning five days per week.
The Old Rochester Regional School Committee voted in favor of the in-person return in the Dec. 7 meeting. This plan affects both the Center and Old Hammondtown schools to accommodate social distancing of six feet for all students, as there is not enough space in the Center School alone. Larger gathering spaces, such as the cafeteria, library and auditorium, will now serve as classrooms for students. The full school week of in-person learning is a change from the previous hybrid plan of two in-person learning days per week and the rest remote.
