Shattering another glass ceiling, Nethra Kumanan became the first Indian female sailor to qualify for Olympics. The 23-year-old will be competing at this year’s Tokyo Olympics 2021 event, which would kick off on July 23, in the laser radial class of sailing. The laser radial is a small boat, just big enough to carry one person, who has to navigate the boat.
She first made a mark with a bronze medal in the World Cup in 2020 after competing in the Asian Games in 2014 and 2018.
