The fight against a proposed oil pipeline that would run through parts of Tennessee and North Mississippi got a boost Sunday from a well-known civil rights figure.
Last month, former Vice President Al Gore spoke against the pipeline.
This weekend, a well-known reverend spoke out, calling the pipeline “environmental racism.”

Well-known activist Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II stopped in Memphis to speak against the proposed Byhalia Pipeline. Barber has fought other pipelines, saying they often target minority and low-income communities who often can’t fight back.
