MSDH: Mississippi adds another 1,500-plus to COVID-19 tally

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reported the daily COVID-19 case count in the state had risen by more than 1,500.
MSDH reported 1,528 new COVID-19 cases and 36 additional deaths Saturday.
Fifteen new deaths were reported between Jan. 22-Jan 29. Another 21 deaths were discovered during a review of death certificates between Dec. 24-Jan. 23, including two in Jones County.
The latest figures brought the state’s total cases and deaths since March to 274.190 and 6,018.
