It says more about him than it does about her, my problem with this interview was i thought that the Harris Walz Ticket did actually do well, if you want information from people and you want policy, if you want to know what they would do, the way to do that is to ask real, substantive questions and not just be sort of very republican framed Talking Points or to ask them to sort of defend themselves against things that are not that was just an attack on her, it was not a question, theres no question there. She is who she is and its pretty offensive, that moment i thought she dealt with that as well as anyone could deal with something like that but imagine if someone asked me are you jewish . Im jewish. Thats it. Someone says im not jewish, thats okay but i am. Yeah, i agree with you that this is thats exactly how she should have responded. Whats interesting to me is that shes going to have to deal with this more and more as she does more interviews, as she also indirect attacks from trump himself, you prepped republican candidates, four for debates, what do you think about how she dealt with that and what stuck out with you about the interview . I thought that answer was great. And charming, so i think that was a definitely a highlight i concur with you on that. I think these interviews are challenging, this nitpick im going to offer is less about the nitpick but more about looking forward to the debate, she had to introduce herself and shes having to answer for some of these things, i thought she answered quite well explaining her evolution on a range of paulist knees. They took 2019 thats different to some positions now, they seem to prep for that and then she explained the rationale and how she wants to build consensus. I like that. You didnt see is what you do prep candidates for, they answer that and then put into whats terrible. The head of the debate is the big question. They said you never even met trump before, that would be the first time. It might be interesting to remind them why they never met before. Donald trump did not show up to the peaceful transition of power because he was pouting like a child and flying home to his house in maralago and his emotional sub or cougars and did not show up for the first president in history to not show up to the transition of power after he tried a violent coup on the capital. She does not have to be just as an example i think there are a lot of material to work with on trump. Lets turn to where the race stands now, maria because theres been some Paul Polling thats been interesting. When you look at latino or black voters or young voters. You see harris is leading the low income voters 58 to 35 , you been out there on the trail and youve been talking to people, what does that say to you about the polling youre saying right there coming into Labor Day and the path ahead . What we found interesting was right before the convention, she was at 60 independence were at second seven, trump was at 29, shes taking away the independence, shes taking from trump and that was before the bump, this is a poll that they conducted with 2000 voters in Battleground States in georgia and north carolina, arizona and nevada, what we are seeing since then is even more appetite for her because shes talking to them in a way that makes sense, this we have not covered enough but the fact that shes given them a platform to say we will build more for foreign housing, rent controls, all the way down the line. Thats what we found that young voters, black and latino, 18 to 29, housing is the number one issue, normally you think housing is something that you struggle with in your 30s and 40s, the fact that shes heading them exactly where they are speaks to not only who she is, right like this idea that shes a woman of color it has immigrant experience, she can talk to them in code but shes also translating it in meeting them where they are with better issues thats impacting them. Thats an interesting point because again we have long talked about this president ial race not being about policy issues, between harrison trump. There are some issues talking about what healthcare on this Bus Tour, you talking about economic issues that a lot of latino voters are responding to. How do you explain this kind of big swing among latino voters in this poll. What we found again, biden was on top of the ticket was on that the people were affected defecting to the republican party, they were interested in a Third Party thats women, Latina Women Defecting to Third Party because they were aligned with the democratic issues which is felt like they needed something fresh, and biden while he had great policy, they dont know his policy. We found was interesting and this is why her defining herself on this interview was so important, people loved her but they dont know who she is. Shes a blank slate, thats the best for an opportunity, unlike hillary who had 30 years of baggage because of the right to find her, she has an opportunity.
