STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Properly disposing of sensitive documents is one of the best ways to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
But not every Staten Islander has their own shredder at home to make sure their personal information remains safe when tossing out old paperwork.
With that in mind, Assemblyman Michael Cusick (D-Mid-Island) and state Sen. Andrew Lanza (R-Staten Island) will host their bi-annual Secure Shred event next week to give borough residents an opportunity to safely dispose of their unwanted documents.
