The CDC said Tuesday that even vaccinated people in areas where the COVID-19 delta variant is spreading should resume wearing them indoors, and infections are on the rise in Iowa.
But at Waterloo's SingleSpeed Brewing, where many riders gathered after the Day 4 journey from Iowa Falls, neither the employees nor patrons were masking up. Masks also weren't in evidence at the nearby Young Arena, where riders who'd completed a road day in temperatures that reached the mid-90s were free to hang out in the hockey-rink chill and watch the Olympics on the facility's big screen.
Outside the brewery, Jack Knipp, who calls Waterloo home, said he wasn't worried about the new guidance. In fact, he said he hadn’t even heard about it.
