Newark and District U3A's activities continue throughout lockdown

A group that aims to bring retired and semi-retired people together hasn’t stopped just because of lockdown ­— in fact, its members are keen to keep dancing,
writes Elliot Ball.
Newark and District U3A has used the coronavirus pandemic as more of a reason to keep in touch with each other — particularly because people may be feeling lonely.
One way the group has been keeping active is through a virtual ballroom dance class — held every Wednesday online via Zoom — where members can learn anything from the waltz, rumba and cha-cha to the foxtrot and jive.
