The Northern Panhandle’s four counties found themselves Sunday in the safest categories on the Department of Health and Human Resources COVID-19 alert map.
Hancock, Brooke and Ohio counties all were green, the safest category on the five-color-coded map. Marshall County was yellow, the next-safest category.
Hancock County had an infection rate of 8.43 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 1.84. Brooke County had an infection rate of 10.42 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 2.04.
Ohio County had an infection rate of 15.87 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 2.26. Marshall County had an infection rate of 21.52 cases per 100,000 residents and a percent positivity of 3.96.
