Industry insider CallOfDutyHope shared on Twitter that Activision issued a DMCA notice to a post about "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Remastered." The said post claimed that the remaster would release this year instead of the rumored "Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard." Moreover, the post revealed that devs would spin the remaster as a major COD event, which would lead to "MWII" in 2022.
