Waste-busting network of community fridges to expand following £500,000 funding boost from the Co-op
The Co-op and environmental charity Hubbub have today announced plans to expand Hubbub's Community Fridge Network with the help of a £500,000 investment from the supermarket giant.
The funding will allow Hubbub to fast-track the expansion of its community fridges across the UK, in an effort to both tackle food poverty and improve access to food that would otherwise end up going to waste. The new programme will see 100 additional community fridges installed across the UK, expanding Hubbub's existing network to 250 sites by the end of the year.
