Documents show that there will be two parking spaces per home with a central green space in the middle of the development.
The site is part of an area with local historical importance as it once formed part of the Yorkshire Main pit
The pit was established in 1909 and extracted millions of tonnes of coal between its opening and closure in 1985.
The development site was the eastern point of the former YMC site, in an area previously used for spoil tipping. The site also accommodated associated railways and an engine house.
Following the pit’s closure in 1985, tip washing operations were undertaken to recover coal. Regrading works were then undertaken to create a development platform and vegetation subsequently began to grow.
