Public reaction to the idea of tolling the I-83 South Bridge crossing the Susquehanna River to pay for its replacement and future maintenance has leaned toward negative but not everyone is opposed, according to a PennDOT official. | Jimmie Brown | jbrown@pennlive.com

PennDOT has received about 200 comments so far regarding its proposal to toll the I-83 South Bridge.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the majority of those comments have opposed the prospect of paying $1 or $2 to cross the bridge, while some are neutral. So far, few have said they are in favor of tolls.
