Questions Swirl After Decayed Corpse Found in Colorado ‘Cult’ HQ

DENVER—Investigators in Colorado are looking into whether the badly decaying body of a woman in her forties, found dead in a community near Crestone, is the leader of a bizarre spiritual group called “Love Has Won.”
A source familiar with the case told The Daily Beast that members of the group—which law enforcement and ex-members have previously called a “cult”—claimed the leader, Amy Carlson, was not dead, and merely “out of communication.”
But Saguache County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Royce Brubacher told The Daily Beast on Friday that deputies found a body on Thursday inside a mobile home, which is the Love Has Won headquarters, after a former member tipped them off.
