Sometimes it feels like there's a divide between the metro and Greater Minnesota. And right now, Range lawmakers are pushing for that, when it comes to following executive orders related to COVID restrictions on bars and restaurants.
Rep. Julie Sandstede is drafting legislation that would exempt areas outside of the seven-county metro from executive orders, IF certain COVID numbers are met. "The one-size-fits-all approach isn't working. The level of frustration is very high. I do think we need to take action, study the evidence as best we can, and make informed decisions. And then, there comes a time when you have to take a leap of faith, and you have to try it," she said.
