Rejoinder on DBM Secretary's statement regarding PVAO's role in the differential pay of AFP retirees

QUEZON CITY, Feb. 2 -- The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) would like to clarify that the issue regarding the provision of the differential pay of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) retirees is not under the jurisdiction of PVAO.
The PVAO administers the pension and non-pension benefits of World War II veterans, Korean War veterans, Vietnam War veterans, AFP retirees upon reaching the age of 65, and their surviving spouses as embodied in Section 7, Article XVI of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. On the other hand, the differential pay of AFP retirees falls under the purview of the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center (AFP-PGMC) which is the primary office managing the Retirement Pension of all AFP retirees.
