An operation involving HM Coastguard, RNLI crews and police took place late last night off the coast of Plymouth after concerns were raised about a sailor's welfare.
Police have confirmed a number of agencies were involved in the incident which began in Torquay when the owner of a yacht set off from Torquay harbour at around 2.05pm yesterday having made concerning remarks.
The vessel was tracked heading southwards into the English Channel.
