Two of American Dream's main attractions are set to open in May after being delayed for nearly a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The property's Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center are set to open on May 4, according to Merlin Entertainments, which operates both attractions. The two venues will add to the complex's entertainment options, with an indoor snow park and Nickelodeon-themed rides.
The 25,000-square-foot aquarium includes more than 10 interactive exhibits inspired by local landmarks, the company said, including “Sharks Fish Avenue,” and “Urban Jungle." Its main feature will be its underwater tunnel, which offers images of Manhattan landmarks scattered between schools of fish, sharks, rays and other sea creatures. The aquarium, similar to one that American Dream developer Triple Five hosts inside its Mall of America property in Minnesota, will be home to more than 1,000 creatures from the tri-state area to the Pacific Northwest.
