Logic here, which is people are participating in the election, running up to election day, that ive always found that might be the day before, actually as probably more intense than the day of the election. And if a friendly suggestion is rather than having it on monday, everybody is going to be a hang overon wednesday, but you wont be participating in the election activities to have it on a wednesday instead. That is my suggestion. Supervisor fewer. Considering, i find myself to get in trouble on election night, i am wondering if we could actually the first timr considered that. Wondering if theres an option to actually not have a meeting that week and find another date to have a meeting. So im wondering if my colleagues wouldnt mind continuing this item or could we so that we could actually just speak among even our as a representative aids for example and to see what a better option might be. So i think i would like to have more time. This is just sprung on me now so im kind of thinking about what it might be like. And it is true that at the School District we dont meet on election night. But im wondering could we set a meeting another time. Could we continue this item to next week . That would be my preference to kind of kick it around. I think its an interesting idea and i appreciate my colleagues bringing it forward. So that would be my suggestion. In so far as i am at the top of the roster, i will withdraw my amendment if it is okay with my seconder, and i think continuing this item for a week because theres no pressing time urgency. And also hearing from the clerk of the board who is sick today, it would be fine with me. So if its okay with supervisor walton, i will withdraw my amendment and ask for a continuance and agree with supervisor fewer. Theres a motion to continue this item to next weeks meeting on december 17. Seconded my supervisor ronen. Then with no objection oh. I see theres a bunch of public on this ill be fast. Supervisor stefani. I just want to add that i concur with supervisor fewers suggestion to continue this for a week to discuss it. My inkling was i feel i was elected to work that week and not campaign that week and my constituents would expect me to come to work. So i would like to discuss whether or not we find another date during that week to have that meeting. Supervisor safai. I actually think that doing it the day of the election but earlier would be better, maybe we could think about that. Just throw that in the mix. Like maybe we meet at 10 00 that day to have an earlier meeting so it would be over. Anyway, just throw it out there. Supervisor ronen. I want to appreciate my colleagues for having this conversation. I dont even know exactly where i stand on it. But it feels like that day, i want to get out so badly of the meeting so i can get on the streets and campaign and get out the vote that it just occurred to me that perhaps we could figure something out that made more sense so we could be participating in the democratic process. And given how high the stakes are this november, it feels particularly urgent. So i think this is a great solution. And i appreciate the ongoing dialogue. Okay. So if theres no objection to the motion to continue, then it passes. Where am i . Item 54. Item 54 is a resolution to commend and honor supervisor vallie brown for her decades of dedicated service to San Francisco and her service as a member of the San Francisco board of supervisors. Okay. Thank you for serving along with this item. As this could very well be the last board of supervisors meeting that our colleague supervisor vallie brown, i really want to take advantage of this and make sure that we properly honor you. So im going to say and you said that you were a supervisor or the commissioner this morning for 16 months, i was really shocked, actually. I was thinking what, only 16 months . I personally thought you were a supervisor longer than that. I dont know im not too sure why i thought that. But i think part of it is when i thought about the impact weve had on the board of supervisors in terms of your legislation and the many pieces of legislation that you offer and push through, shows the volume of things that you were able to accomplish in the 16 months was actually pretty impressive. And when i thought about even the types of legislation that you chose to really push and author, its almost everything that you chose seemed to go back to fighting for the almost people that probably need a voice on this board. You fight for womens rights. You fight for homelessness, you fight for children, you fight for Climate Changes, you fight for tenant rights. Even the simple not simple but barring travels to states that deprive women of their right to choose control over their own bodies is something that is commendable. You coauthoring and pushing for having vehicles be able to really the poor people that cant afford a home should be able to find a place to park where its safe. Once again, its something that maybe some of us thought about, we didnt push it, but you did. So to me it goes on and on in terms of what you did. And i really do appreciate what youve done for not for the board but for the people in San Francisco. And certainly i appreciate your congeniality in working with all of us, always, even when you disagree, there was nothing about the disagreement that was disagreeable. You were just enough to state the facts and say this is what i believe in, you know, take it or leave it. And when other people did the same thing, you took it or leave it. So thats something that i respect as being a professional in the political world, its not always easy to do, but you seem to be able to do that. So im going to miss you. Im hoping that well get to work on things outside of this chamber, because i think you have a remarkable mind and have a lot of passion. Thats everybody. Supervisor safai. Supervisor vallie brown. So i wanted to say its been such an honor to work with you. What im going to focus on is your style and the way in which i think that you have been able to manage impacting with people. Ive certainly enjoyed the way that youve interacted with me and my office and my staff. I think you have a calm style and a way in which you interact with people. You dont allow people to fluster you. So ive always appreciated that, watching you from the years that you were a legislative aid to then being supervisor, i said it then and i meant it, and i still mean it now, i think you transitioned to being a supervisor completely and relatively easy because you had the experience. And you were ready day one. And i think it shows from all the accomplishments and things you have done over the last year and a half. The work that we did on the safe parking, in particular, your resolve there, the way in which you approached me, and i know weve had some private conversations about that, but the fact that you just handled it in such a way that was calm, you didnt get in my face, you didnt throw your own personal experiences at me to guilt me. You just talked about it in a matter of fact way. And i really appreciated that. And you said lets do this together, and here we are tomorrow were going to have the grand opening, the first time in the citys history of having safe parking. And so much of that is because of you is the way you pushed me and challenged me to do better. And i really appreciate that. I know you are going to continue to be active. I know you are going to continue to challenge us, and i know you are going to continue to fight for this city. And i know the best things for you in terms of elected life, are yet to come. So i look forward to embracing that and working with you on that. Supervisor ronen. Yeah. We had a little chance to touch base in the hall earlier today. But as i said to you then in private and what i think you are going to hear echoed from all of us is i give you the most mature member of the board award. And not in age but in demeanor, without a doubt, you are a class act. You always are, no matter what you are facing. And its just been an incredible pleasure to serve with you in this way. I have an immense amount of respect for you, and im really looking forward to continuing to work with you in the future. Supervisor walton. Thank you, president yee and supervisor brown, i dont really do goodbyes. And i know you are going to continue to work for your community and continue to serve the city in whatever capacity as we move forward. But i just really do want to appreciate how you lead with grace. And the advice you gave me when i first got elected, you may not remember, but if you think, i know it will come back to you, that was some of the best advice i could have ever been given when coming into this room. So i want to thank you for taking the time to help me not get in my own way. I really do appreciate that. But i shall appreciate how much you care about community, how much you fight for community in the way that you do it. Your commitment is definitely unchallenged. And i know youll continue to serve in many big ways. So you always have a friend in me and supporter in me. And again, i want you to know that i appreciate everything youve done since youve been on the board of supervisors but also your Prior Service in city hall for a long time. Thank you. Supervisor fewer. Yes, vallie, i know im not going to be able to get through this without shedding a few tears. I like to think that im one of your closest colleagues, well, maybe not, but i would like to think so. I think that we have because i feel that we had really a connection around the issues that are so dear to my heart and yours. Looking at our most marginalized communities in San Francisco, fighting together for Racial Equity and really hammering that out to make it real for people that have waited so long for this type of help and assistance in the city and county of San Francisco. I was so proud to author that with you. Somebody that gave Public Comment today said something about how you write legislation, how you have a big heart. And i think this is the perfect combination in which to write legislation and to vote on legislation. It is about a great mind but a big heart. And in that way, we know that we are meeting the needs of San Franciscos. I think i didnt know you at all when you came in. Being only one of four women on this board. And by the way, whoever is not putting down the toilet seat in the bathroom, this is really rude. I just want to say that. But i have enjoyed so much the camaraderie of having another woman of color on the board also. And i think you are very kind. I think you are really generous. And always friendly. You have a really deep understanding about people of color and the struggle that they have, but in particular, about people who are in poverty or have been in poverty. This deep respect and understanding about what they are going through and how a helping hand is also to give them a leg up. And i think this legislation that you signed onto immediately, the n. C. O. , all these others eventually a lot of people have you stepped up and you understood what is like to work for 15 an hour. And struggling. And i think because of who you are, that these decisions that youve made on the board and actually, i feel like youve been on the board much longer also. I concur can president yee. With president yee. I think its very fine. And its been a wonderful experience to work with you. And i personally just really want to thank you for your friendship. But also for what you have done for the people of San Francisco, and especially for those people. And i just have to say it once again, for those people that are most marginalized in San Francisco that now at this time so desperately need that voice. Thank you, vallie. I hope we will stay friends forever. Supervisor haney. Well, i want to say its been an honor to serve with you and to thank you for your service. I think as long as youve been working in Public Service and for the different folks youve worked for, its astonishing i have never heard anyone say a bad word about you like they dont respect and like they dont think you are a good person. And i think that just goes so far that you are somebody who all of us here know, not just your colleagues, but everyone who works at city hall, everyone you come across, that you are going to approach things with integrity, you are going to try to do the right thing. It never felt like things were political or that you were looking over your shoulder, you were trying to figure out what the right thing was to do and to represent your constituents. And for me as a new supervisor, being able to see that and learn from you around that was a real privilege and i want to thank you for that. Your staff is also really great. I think we all love your staff. And my staff was always like we love vallie, we love her staff. And im sure that was something all of our offices said. That really is a testament to you and the people that you bring around. And i always enjoyed when i had the opportunity to hear more and learn more about you and your life and your journey. And the way that you brought that here to your work, the times in which, you know, when we had the women who were here, the native american women who were talking about the murders and the violence, and to hear you stand up and speak about that and your experience and to see you do it again when we were talking about homelessness, i think that was so powerful for you to be vulnerable in that way but also just to be real and genuine about who you are and your experience and then to see you at the Fleetwood Mac concert just dancing all over the place just a few days after the election, i just its been just cool to see you be yourself and be genuine and not let any of this get to you, because i know you are going to continue to do this work. You are going to continue to be there for the folks who showed up for you today. You are going to continue to be there for people when nobody is watching. And i think for all of us, thats something that we should aspire to and do aspire to. And ive seen you do it in everything that youve done here during the time ive been here, and im sure obviously before i got here. And it will continue on and on after all of us we all have our time in office, but for you, this is a life of service. And its a service to the people of district 5, and i know thats going to continue. And all of us hope that whatever you do next, it will be in a place where we can to work with you. And thats completely something that all of us are excited to do in whatever capacity you choose to do it. So thank you for your service. Supervisor mar. Yeah, vallie, i was just thinking how a year ago when i was nervously getting ready to step into this role, i relied a lot on my brother, former supervisor mar, for advice on how to get ready. If i said he gave me a range of topics thats proven to be useful or not useful to varying degrees, but i think the best advice he gave me and really the most right on was how much im going to enjoy working with you. And how much how knowledgeable you were about City Government and so many different issues about how deeply committed to your community, the neighborhood and the city you were. And i think most importantly, how i would be able to trust you politically and how you were really progressive. Because despite both of us having many years of activism on different issues in the city, our paths have never crossed before, so i didnt really know you. But i think my brothers advice about you has proven to be right on and more so, its been a great pleasure to be sort of a seated partner with you at the board meetings and also on the committee with you and just being able to tap your all of your support and guidance as i struggled to get activated in this new role. And i really appreciated all the conversations weve had on issues small like staying healthy and to issues that we worked on from a. D. U. , supporting expansion of a. D. U. S to supporting our small neighborhood businesses more and then land use issues and even s. B. 50. Its just been really great to engage with you on all these. So thank you. And i look forward to continuing to work with you, maybe on this new body that you and i and some others in this chamber are for some reason stepping trying to step into. So thanks, vallie. Supervisor mandelman. Thank you, president yee. We join this board i think the same week. And i did not know you super well at that time, but i have so enjoyed working with you and everything that has been said is true. You are unfailingly collegial and kind. You have a ton of heart, but you also think carefully and thoughtfully about what the right answer is and try really hard to get to what is actually good for the city. And you have been personally so helpful to me and gracious and willing to share your knowledge and advice and support in tough times. And so i think supervisor ronen called you a class act, and i completely agree. And i think youre fantastic. Supervisor peskin. I will do my best to stand up as my hip is giving out. But that is my style. Vallie brown, because i knew you originally as vallie brown long before i knew you as supervisor brown, in, as i said, this morning at the transportation authority, in many incarnations. Vallie had a lifelong before she came to city hall which we learned about along the way but worked for two remarkably tough bosses. And i want to say did not learn any of their lessons, because she treated her staff and all of her colleagues and everybodys staff with profound respect. So you did not learn any of the bad ways of those two individuals that you served. And i am not naming names. Later on, vallie went to work for oewd where she was universally respected. And if you know that role, all of us think that we are being told untruths or halftruths. Everybody absolutely knew when vallie came down the hall, she was telling nothing but the truth and the whole truth. And if you asked her the right questions, she would tell you what the infirmities were, and i profoundly appreciated that for one. Supervisor haney actually referenced vallies not only being a member of the Indigenous Community but her work. And one thing that i really want to salute and you got me to go to the board of appeals and i had to get the City Attorneys permission, is removal across this great plaza of the statue. I was not going to get up that early in the morning, but you did, and i think that is a tribute to you and a reversal of the manifest injustice. I want to close by saying that it was not easy, and this is the elephant in the room, to be on the other side of your election. And i want to tell you how hard that was for me personally. And as you know, it wasnt personal. I actually endorse your opponent before you were even named to the seat that you are in. But let me tell you, its been a rough bunch of months for me personally. And the one thing i know is that when you are this committed to the city and to justice, you will be around i was out of office for seven years. I showed up here every once in a while and yelled and screamed at the board of supervisors. I expect you to do the same. Thank you, vallie brown. Supervisor stefani. Thank you, president yee. Vallie, i first met you, what, in 2007 when we both started as legislative aids, and im not going to name names but theres something about working for elected officials that makes one a stronger person, i believe. Im probably going to say that to my staff as well. It was clear then as it is clear now that you came to this work with a deep understanding, love and appreciation for your community. And you came as a neighborhood activist Getting Started in your neighborhoods, founding the Lower Haight Neighborhood Association and lower haight merchants association, knowing the value of neighborhood activism. And we all heard the stories of you out there picking up trash in the neighborhood. And that stuff matters. That matters to people. For decades, you have worked behind the scenes to bring real results for the neighborhoods and for the city. And youve done it without ever seeking the spotlight, and i think thats something thats absolutely tremendous. I was recently at an event, and i thought of you, with oakland mayor, where the mayor spoke about how there are so many women in every profession, really, but really behind the scenes politics, who are so focused on getting the job done that they really never raise their hands to take credit. And you had to be asked to serve in this capacity as did i. And i understand what thats all about, and you have done it with such incredible grace, class, and honor. Like i said, youve never sought credit for the work you have done. But we all should recognize your successes today, farmers market, Affordable Housing, aapproving the transportation infrastructure, focus on public safety. You are always there for your community. You have worked tirelessly to make sure that your communitys voice is heard here in this room. You have been an incredible colleague, a source of great support to me and a dear friend. You have always had my back. And even when we wisconsin dysagreed on things, you have when we disagreed on things, you have never talked down to me. You realize we come at issues differently, and i respect that more than you will ever know. I have so many stories just in the short time we have been colleagues, but one stands out, and i said it one saturday before we were knocking on doors, but i was the subject in this room of hateful comments by someone who was speaking at Public Comment, and you alongside supervisor fewer, got up from your chairs, i dont even know if you were conscious about doing this but you got up from your chairs and stood behind mine as this one person continued to say hateful things to me. And in that moment, just knowing that you had my back, that supervisor fewer had my back, that i had these two incredibly strong women standing behind me, is something that means a lot and something i will never forget, and its how i think of you, always having my back, standing up for whats right, standing up for people. Im going to miss you so much. I think im very sad that you are not continuing on, no one has right now, for now, no one has the experience that you have, no one has the sincerity, the authenticity, the integrity that you have that you have come to this job with. No one has the heart for the community that you have. You have not, like i said, done this work for recognition or for a title behind your name. That has never been your driving factor, your driving factor has been showing up for your community. Just please know, vallie, that i respect you immensely. Im going to miss you so m cannt happens next. I know everything happens for a reason, which i know theres something bigger and better. And or maybe youll be back, but i will always be here for you. I will always have your back. And thank you for having the back of all of us here at the board for being an amazing colleague, an amazing Public Servant and most importantly, thanks for being one of my best friends here on the board. I love you so much. Im going to miss you. So vallie, would you like to Say Something . Just a couple words. I know its late. And i hate goodbyes. Im with supervisor walton. I hate goodbyes. I usually do the irish goodbye where you just leave and its like what happened to vallie. I think a lot of it, especially if im in a place that i love and i care about, i hate goodbyes. And i think its because, when i grew up, i was always meeting new people and saying goodbye. So i just quit saying goodbye. And i just started saying hello. But i just have to say thank you to mayor breed who actually had the confidence for me to step in this role. Its not an easy role. Its nothing i ever thought, oh, i want that role, i want to be supervisor. And i had to think about it really long and hard to do it. But i just thought like it was a calling, and it was a calling for me to come. And after ten years of being a legislative aid and two years working in oewd, i felt like it was something i had to do. I feel like i almost didnt have a choice. So i definitely want to thank mayor breed. And i know it was hard for her, because that is the place she grew up, and its her home where she lived so she wanted to make sure she had someone in there that could really take care of constituents. And i really want to thank the clerks office, angela and every one of her staff. I mean, when i came on as supervisor, you made me feel like i came home. I just want to say thank you to all of you. Youve just been amazing. You are actually the glue that keeps us all together. I want to tell you that. You really are. Sometimes we do come unglued. And you keep us together. So thank you for being there for us. And the attorneys office, john, i mean, its almost like, you know, you are like the person that i know so well. You come back to the board of supervisors and theres john. And its just so wonderful to have john to come back to. And first thingishes say to you is im sorry first thing i should say to you is im sorry because we give you legislation and you are like how do we do this. But i want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, because you have taken legislation that we were told we would get sued and it would never happen, and youve made it legislation that we could actually pass, and it will hold up in court. And i want to say thank you. And to your staff, you have amazing staff. And so thank you very much for everything youve done and all the years you have been here, john. You are right here for me. I want to go really fast, president yee, when we were having decisions about board president , i didnt know you that well, but i knew your staff and i knew the legislation that you had passed. And you always were someone that was doing things from the heart. And i just respected your background and the things that you did. And you really deserved presidency of this board. And you had been amazing. I cant tell you why im so happy in the 16 months ive been here that you were board president. So thank you for stepping up to that role, because i know its not easy. And just keeping us moving along in the right direction. Thank you so much. And thank you so much for being that ear when i want to come to you and talk to you about something and just being open. Thank you so much. Supervisor peskin, thank you fos respected you. Ive always respected everything that you have brought up and brought through legislation. Even when you made me bring my business streamlining three times through land use, yes, three times was a charm. But you know what . It was better legislation because of that. So i want to thank you for that. And ive always respected you, and ive always, everything that youve done, youve done it with such integrity, and you are such a policy, it really cracks me up when you catch those things, but no one else catches. So thank you for being so gracious and being there for me. Hillary, we started as legislative aids. Well, you came in a little bit after. And, you know, we bonded as legislative aids, because we both worked in districts that were really tough, violent districts. And we had to i think during the down economy, and we had to really push to make things happen and to address that. So when i came in as a supervisor, and we all worked with safai and you and i worked on the safe parking, and the things that you brought forward, and the things that you really wantedd to make sure were in there made it perfect. It was like the icing on the cake. So thank you so much for that. Thank you for introducing the American Indian cultural district. Im working with them now to make sure that they understand as it goes forward what that means for them. So thank you so much for stepping up to that. Because i know its difficult, especially in communities that are just so ravaged, getting them to work together. So i will definitely be part of that. But thank you for bringing that forward. So i really appreciate it. And its been wonderful to work with you now at this capacity, moving from legislation aid to supervisor. And even though ahsha is not here and is probably having whiskey in his office, im not sure what hes doing. Its his sons birthday. I want to thank him because of the vehicle navigation center. I will be there tomorrow with him. But that was something that when i approached him, he was going for a ban, a straight ban, and for him to back up, and his constituents were not happy, showed me right there that he was willing to work for what i thought was something that we needed to create a solution creative solutions. And i just really appreciate that. So ahsha and i hope your son has a happy birthday today. Catherine, you are another one, supervisor stefani, another one that, you know, we came in as legislative aids, and even though i was on the opposite side as far as then i worked for someone we came in to city hall, we were left of the left. It was the green party. And but it was so you were always so gracious as a legislative aid. And you are also as a supervisor. And i just want to say, catherine, thank you for making sure that we are not numb with all the gun violence, because any time something happens, i feel i just want to be numb, because its so painful. And every time you stand up and shock us out of our numbness, i say yes, thank you. Thank you for doing that and being that champion. Someone has to do that. And you are that electricity that comes through and makes us where we are not numb. So thank you, catherine, for everything you do. Supervisor stefani, thank you for everything you do. Your constituents are very lucky they have you representing them. So thank you. Supervisor haney, you know, we share a border. And i share an opinion of you that is really positive, because one of the things i think we both really agree on is that we disagree with the homeless sweeps. And i know a lot of times you get the homeless sweeps in your community, in your district, and then they come to my district and it goes back and forth. And i really appreciate you looking at lets try to have some new solutions. With the mental health, with you and hillary going for the mental health, and realty digging deep for those creative solutions. We need that and the homeless solutions. I just want you to know that i stand with you on that. I will always stand with you on that. And im sure we will be working together on making sure that we do things that address the issue instead of sweeping it away. So thank you. Its been an honor to work with you for a year on this board. Supervisor walton, i appreciate all your support. You have been supportive of everything ive done and everything i have tried to do for the Africanamerican Community in district 5. I have come to you and asked you for your support, and you have said absolutely. And it is so refreshing to have someone just step up and say im there. And ive worked with the Africanamerican Community in district 5 for so long, and the thing that they need is that support. And they need that person thats going to fight for them of my and when you took Juvenile Hall and said im going to fight for this, i said thank god. So thank you so much. And thank you for being there. And i know things will be Going Forward like the heritage center, that will be opening up on friday, again, because that vision of a community thats still there for me, and i funded that, so please be supportive of that, and i know you will be, because it has to have some reparations that way. So thank you so much for everything. I know well still be talking about Different Things and looking for solutions. Supervisor mar, yes, i knew your brother much better than you. And your brother and our office used to get in trouble a lot together. But when i heard his brother was coming on the board, i was excited. And i really appreciate you sitting down and listening to the things that we worked on together, whether it was s. B. 50 or the a. D. U. S. I came to you and said can we increase it to have small property owners, you said absolutely, i really appreciate that, because that was going to cover also my constituents. So thank you for being open, always, and talking through things with me. I really appreciate that openness that you have demonstrated. And we share a border also. So there are a lot of things that we had to really look at together. So thank you so much. Supervisor mandelman, i think we are the pot and the environmental twins. We were always doing the cannabis together or [laughs] we were doing things for cannabis and then also environmental. And i really appreciate that i had someone that we could go back and forth with on different legislation and some things that we thought were really important. I appreciated that you really punished through on that. So thank you so much. And that you really pushed through on that. So thank you so much. Being this person that sits next to me, its always important to have someone that has a smile on their face when i look up when its some issue that i just want to stab myself in the leg with. So thank you so much, supervisor mandelman. Supervisor fewer, i didnt know you when i first came on. And i think we went to coffee and talked a little. And after a few months, i realized i think we were cut from the same cloth. But you have much more of a potty mouth than me. [laughter] but, you know, yeah. But you said things a lot of times i wanted to say and i just smirked in the background. But really jumping in with, like, the office of Racial Equity, also a lot of the American Indian initiatives that we were looking at, you were always saying why not, hell yes, the family tax credit that we put in the budget, and that when people say it was only some more low income families, but it was a lot for low income families. And i appreciate you saying yes, lets do it and really looking at those equity issues. I cant tell you how much im going to miss you. I was going to say too bad i cant come back and work for the city, i could come work for you as an aid. No. So i just want to say thank you for being that person. And we really need people like you here at the board. So i fullon support with whatever you want to do, im there for you. I also have to thank my aids. I have everybody said i have great staff, and i have amazing staff. Maybe because i was staffed for so long, i knew what want and what i didnt want. So some of them are here. I have a new addition, caleb carwin condition sko. What kind of name is that . Okay, ukrainian. He came into my office like many people that come into your office, as a volunteer, as one of those people that were there and was an amazing volunteer. He came in and said what can i do, how can i do it . And he was always there. And i really appreciate it. And when that fourth aid came up and we actually got it, we were all clicking our heel hells, you were the one i said has to come in and be the fourth aid so thank you for your work. Even though it was short, it was amazing. So thank you, caleb, so much appreciated. My other aid derek remski. Derek is the one that talked tomb making sure that brick and mortar businesses took cash. And i was so impressed, because right there he went into a mode that i would always go into for equity, because when we look at this, people who dont have wash, i mean theres a huge list of people who dont have cash. Its an equity issue. So derek, thank you for bringing those kinds of pieces to me, because you knew thats the kind of stuff i wanted to grab on and run. Also for managing my calendar. Any of us that have a legislative aid that manages the beast of the calendar, thank you for taking that and managing that calendar. Sometimes i would get grumpy and you would just say, okay, so thank you for really stepping up and doing that and you also were so meticulous with the m. T. A. , our t. A. Packets, all those things that just really needed a good reading. And thank you so much, derek, for always being there and sometimes driving picking me up off the couch and driving me home and dropping me off. I appreciate it. Thank you so much. And my aid juan carlos, he was the firstaid i brought in. I knew him from oewd and he was probably the first one i said will you come down with me. And he said hell yeah, and i brought him to the second door. Youre an amazing man. You are very humble. Many people dont know you have a law degree and you were educated at stanford. So many people dont know that because you dont announce that. You are humble. But you are so smart. And you dive into any legislation that we were doing, whether it was building making sure we had a High Percentage of Affordable Housing with those projects coming through, you dove in, and you got exact number that made sure we didnt kill that bill. I cant even believe the kind of thoroughness that you did with that legislation. Thats one of the reasons i you know, and also with business streamlining, i mean, you kept going and kept refining it and refining it. Thats the kind of people we need at city hall. And im so proud that you were my legislative aid, and you were the first one i drug in to take that. And that first week was hell, and im so sorry but you did an amazing job. You still do an amazing job with all the different legislations that you have brought through. And then last but not least, shakira simile. But shes in italy right now. We call her shak. I say to her if i had a daughter, it would be shak. When i brought her in, i knew her from working for buy right community development, also working in the southeast part of the city for p. U. C. , her she is a warrior, a a warrior with a huge heart. When we talked with her about the office of Racial Equity, she said absolutely, womens rights, reproductive rights, she was there. I am so proud of her. And even though she is not here today, i know she is feeling my love and our love. And i have to say, all my staff are, they all have secured jobs with the city. And the city is so lucky to have them. Shakira will be opening the office of Racial Equity. So really happy about that. Juan carlos is going up to do policy at oewd and the other two are moving through i wont announce it yet, but they are moving to really amazing opportunities in the in the cit. In this last 16 months, passing 31 pieces of legislation and half of it ordinance is because of my colleagues and doing it unanimously is because of you. I dont say its because of me. Its because i was able to work with amazing people, smart legislators that care about this city. And im so proud to have been part of it, even if it was 16 months. To the residents of district 5, you know im not going anywhere. I was an activist before i came into city hall, before i became a supervisor, and im an activist again. You know im going to be there for you. And you wont have to worry. Im going to be fighting for everything that we believe in and everything that needs to be done in this city. I might not be on this side, but as supervisor peskin said, ill be on that side when i need to be. So thank you, everyone. We have to go home. We need to eat. Take care. Thank you. [applause] so supervisor brown, we cant go home yet. Sorry. We got a few more things. So this particular thing will be a threepart piece, here. First we have to approve this commendation. Then something that i dont usually do, which is to read a few of the clauses. But since its so small, i cant read it. I need my eyes over here, supervisor fewer will do that. And the third part is for you to accept it and hopefully we take a photo. Okay . So we have a different house right now, so madame clerk, can you call roll . Mr. President , we are going to read that, you should do that first before we take the vote. Im sorry. I didnt hear. If you are going to be reading them into the record you should do that before we take the vote. We could do that too okay. Supervisor fewer. Yes, president yee has ad southeast me to assist him in reading has asked me to assist him in reading this. Commending and honoring supervisor brown for her decades of dedicated service to San Francisco and her service as a member of the San Francisco board of supervisors, this is resolution number 52219. Whereas clauses i will read the last three that are of the resolve. That is San Francisco board of supervisors recognizes supervisor vallie brown for her service as the first person of native American Heritage to serve on this board which meets on traditional unseated lands and be it further resolved this board commends supervisor brown for being a model of courageous leadership as well as devotion to Public Service and to the constituents and communities of district 5 and San Francisco and be it further resolved that a suitably engrossed copy of this resolution be tended to supervisor brown as a small token of the esteem, affection and respect in which she is held by this board of supervisors and to express to her their appreciation for her service and high hopes for her future. So madame clerk, call the roll. Is there a conflict of interest . Do you have to recuse her . No, i dont believe so. Item 54, supervisor mandelman. Aye. Mar. Aye. Peskin. Aye. Ronen. Aye. Safai, absent. Stefani, aye. Walton, aye. Supervisor yee, aye. Brown, aye. Fewer, aye. Haney, aye. There are ten ayes. This commendation, the resolution is adopted. Can you please accept it, supervisor brown . [off mic] [off mic] okay. We are getting there, folks. Madame clerk, can you read the imperative agenda item . We have a imperative agenda item, it is a resolution commending the artist, the native Sons Building and the environmental profit one atmosphere for coming together to create the mural depicting environmental activist greta and amplifying a call for action against Climate Change colleagues, we have a imperative item that was received after the deadline, pursuant to 4. 25 that without objection we will proceed with consideration. This item requires the board to adopt two separate findings by eight votes before we can consider unanimous adoption on the resolution itself. The first is the sunshine ordinance finding that this resolution is purely commend tory and the second is the brown act finding that this action came to the attention of the board after the agenda was posted. Can i have a motion to approve these findings . So moved moved by supervisor peskin, seconded by supervisor ronen. And without objection these findings are approved. Then supervisor peskin, would you like to Say Something else . Thank you, president yee and colleagues and madame clerk for your indulgence in this relatively rare matter. And thank you for passing the purely commend tory findings pursuant to the sun commend tory findings pursuant to the sunshine act. This came to my attention last wednesday. Because it is quite important to the native Sons Building and it is important that they be commended, given situations within their organization, it is critical that it happen before next week, so i would like to make a motion for the brown act findings. I made the motion. It was made already. So those findings have been made after the fact and colleagues, i commend this resolution, commending the artist and the native Sons Building and the environmental nonprofit one atmosphere for getting together and creating this mural at 420 mason street in district 3. Thank you for your indulgence. Thank you can you add me as a cosponsor . Okay. Are there any other Public Comments on this item . Seeing none, Public Comment is now closed. And now on the substance of the interactive of the resolution itself, can we take this in call . Without objection, the resolution is passed unanimously. We still have closed session. I believe thats the last. Madame clerk, please call that. Item 53 is a closed session with the board of supervisors to convene for the purpose of conferring or receiving advice from the City Attorney regarding the following existing litigation in which the city is the petitioner and the pacific gas and pacific gas and Electric Company is an adverse company. Okay, colleagues, Public Comment was already taken on item 53 during general Public Comment, so we will now convene in closed session. So members of the public, we ask that you exit the chamber and the sheriffs lock the door behind them. We will reopen the chamber once we finish with the closed session, and the public will be. Okay. We are now back in open session. May i have a motion that the board finds that it is in the best interest of the public that the board aelect not to disclose its closed session deliberations . Motion made by supervisor peskin, seconded by supervisor brown. Without any objection, we will not disclose your closed session deliberations. Can i have a motion to continue the item .
