Shanghai bourse says to remove SMIC from Connect index

SHANGHAI : The Shanghai Stock Exchange said on Thursday it will remove Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) from an index composed of eligible Shanghai stocks under the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect.SMIC will be removed from the SSE SH Equities Index starting Aug 16, the exchange said
