Ski Apache will bring snow to summer for the first time when it opens Thursday.
“We’re kicking off summer with snow! For the first time in Ski Apache’s history we are opening a snow tubing area utilizing our snow factory,” Ken Marlatt, director of operations at Ski Apache, said in a news release.
“This addition will complement our zipline and sight-seeing and at over 300 feet long it is one of only a handful in the country and the first in the state of New Mexico,” he added.
The ski resort, at 1286 Ski Run Road in Alto, New Mexico, will open with a weekend full of outdoor activities, live entertainment and family-friendly fun, as well as a season pass sale. Ski and snowboard enthusiasts can get a jump-start on the 2021-22 season with passes available for $450 (a savings of $400) from Thursday to July 31.
