Stamford Endowed Schools’ Sixth Form debating team secures place in East Midlands Regional Championship of the English-Speaking Union Schools’ Debating Mace

A school debating team has become one of the top 12 in the country, following success at the East Midlands Regional Final of the English-Speaking Union Schools’ Debating Mace.
The Stamford Endowed Schools’ Sixth Form debating team, comprising of Oliver Fraser, Harry Laventure and Kitty Henderson, participated in the first round of the competition in January against five schools, before taking part in the East Midlands Regional Championship via Zoom in late February.
In the regional championship, the team debated the motion ‘This House believes that national health decisions should be made by a panel of scientific experts rather than Government.’
