STATESVILLE, N.C. — Officials with Third Creek Middle School announced Friday afternoon that all students will learn virtually for the week of May 17th through May 21st, due to a reported COVID cluster.
“There are currently seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 at TCMS,” stated Director of Communications Dr. Boen Nutting. “Four of those cases are directly related to secondary spread at school, and all grades are impacted. Currently, over 130 (27%) students have been deemed a close contact, and are quarantined at home.”
North Carolina health officials say a cluster is determined at schools when a minimum of 5 individuals have contracted COVID.
