Three Vernon Parish athletes named all-state

It was a stellar year when it came to Vernon Parish football as all three teams reached the playoffs. 
Now, three Vernon Parish athletes have received a little more recognition. 
The Rosepine duo of Ethan Frey and Grant Ducote, along with Pickering's DeShawn Jackson, were named honorable mention on the Class 2A all-state football team as selected by a panel of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. 
Frey, an LSU baseball commit, adds to his already loaded awards cabinet with this honor. He was a first-team all-district selection at quarterback for the Eagles, along with being the District 5-2A Offensive MVP. He recently won Offensive Player of the Year award from the BWS Sports all-Vernon Parish team.
