Here's the trouble it's good morning to Victoria limbs The good morning in Perth think an awesome 89 there slow traffic south bank through the road works in Argyll imputes we're still seeing very slow traffic on the 83 between Inverary and Kira do an earlier lorry fire and quite are to blame for that there's traffic management in place while recovery is underway in Edinburgh there are queues on the a 902 Ferry Road both directions around New Haven road because of road works and the stairs are they 76 and is partially blocked by an accident involving a lorry just on the approach of the 77 at the battlefield rented by that happened on the range by so delays are likely on all approaches b.b.c. Radio Scotland travel and in the forecast scattered showers for some today especially over the northern and western isles Northwest Highlands Mari and a few for the borders as well but Argyle south to them freezing Galloway will see the best of the brightness and feeling cold eyes of just 5 or 6 Celsius in the north up to 9 or 10 at best in the southwest that's b.b.c. Radio Scotland in the studio with me our resident of Ward fitting that role Sol and he's here to help with all your pet problems and issues if you'd like to speak to him give him a call all the way to wait 59295 w. Or in detail from the text on 8 to 95 Also coming up before 12 yr incredible and I say my absolute pleasure and honor it's a great detonated gave you the pride of Britain Award Cheryl Cole but we'll be catching up with the mum of our own Hunter the 9 year old boy from West Dunbartonshire who is the Pride of Britain and I have to sound like the word feisty . I don't know why it's something to do because I think it's always related to women why doesn't Helen Mirren like being called a stay. At home and feisty Hutch them missing something and stay tuned for another clue to name the place mornings with Kay Adams on b.b.c. Radio Scotland. And could I just say well done ball the ball been passed has sneaked in another correct as a Rudy in Peebles was the 1st one to correctly guess the answer to today's name the place 1046 his guess came in and bulb and power share soon after I think will go to right last week actually I think he was 1st us we bowled as a bit of a player on him the place for everyone else I think I should give you another clue how many thing up on 3 so far so we'll go for Clue number for Alan in Edinburgh airport is saying is it John save in St John's tone of doll rise says Jane in Dumfries blackness says Sarah and I'm fireman or else if we go out on the all guesses going on. From here comes sort of way through them and the join thing is definitely getting people Blackford says Wendy who is walking the dogs in Lockhart . So Clue number 4 is assaulted heading Clue number 4 is assaulted having. Clue number one today's place shares part of his day with a fictional pirate Clue number 2 comes from a language associated with seafaring Raiders sometimes described as pirates Clue number 3 a clue to its nickname is in an illiterate to prove their way divide a wad by is the alliterative proverb and Clue number 4 is salted herring 80295 so you go on but that h.t. . Is back with those rules on high again rolls were got a crack call no more. You know time is money not really but I meant Alison good morning Alison morning on how his morning. I'm Ok thanks oh all right Ok I'm so believe you go an issue with one of the adults here how can I help. When I'm a doctor who. I know is this going to last is just 2 weeks ago yesterday just the day before and many state so she has been to anteriorly she started to give me a count that we're going to need if I did and got a payment done a lot of Egypt didn't have. The diagnosis and absolutely fantastic but when I got it diagnosis it was really going to start really still awful for. Trouble or not it was very good to talk to me probably weren't leaking it too early and the more is. Almost a call at the moment and the benefit to be. Completely fused and next to up again in kidney years and no one can I decide are ready to sue What's your question then. What is the likelihood of it traveling Ok great Spain. Right and what kind of dog is merely just kind of pioneering inspiring you Ok so I mean spondylosis like you know as a coma if I have a diagnosis spawned a list this is kind of an arthritic change or is also a fact is over the bones that make up the spine you know are very to Branson in fair to breath and the lower back and it's common for dogs as they get older to get some degree of spondylosis So this one was to sail for it's not this leo was going to cause intense Pete I mean it's quite surprising how you can take a tree's older dogs to take through the tummy for instance and you can see that. The waters but not shoot any things. Pain and discomfort in the back at the same tame some dogs like Millie often can house windows that can cause sometimes associates were paid so I mean what kind of symptoms are you noticing with Molly in particular that you just exploring up surely you know and will that a lagging the haying and she wasn't one can in any lead still but I have an inkling less of this is completed by you know really but it's really young I did a lot of old chucking which I really regret because I know what can I have to teach genetically predisposed or acquired You know if I made it such a good quietly that I know I definitely wouldn't blame yourself I think it's one of these things that if you actually you know main your old dogs almost certainly pretty much every single dog and I'm upset as Aaron and I would have some degree of spondylosis you know and some dogs will be affected more than others others hardly seem to have any kind of course aims at all so I wouldn't blame yourself in terms of throwing the ball at both of us a factor in terms of this point to assess your re I mean it can cause pain and discomfort in the lower back and often the symptoms might be quite mild so that may just be a step for the op in the morning or the may lie in a different position to usual the some of those can be far more fĂȘtes in a far more pain and discomfort and be not keen to go for walks or change a somethings holding up one leg because there's an intense kind of back pain. In terms of what you mentioned there you mentioned your what are your worries about well about this could spread up and I wouldn't get too hung up on that because I think the symptoms that you've noticed with the medications she's on should be helping are quite significantly it is quite likely another little vertebrate be affected to some degree but I don't think the treatments fundamentally going to change so I think what you're doing in terms of having a mountain fly when she's using Paignton is a human drug but it's one that is the same for fear of spinal pain or you know is used for conditions so much the kind of sass the kind people so we see a little pain in dogs often that can be quite effective to help Mellie out and yeah but I think. You know this is a condition that for often is quite mild and those respond favorably So I think a you should be quite positive it should do quite well yeah I heard you say it's not leafleting and nor would normally think this is life or thing but I think you should speak to your vet about all the things you could do to help her so things are simple things like getting our weight down with a family help or more than any medicine you know we will have that will help our and more the finer exercice which is not you know you're not food bowls for our nurses not doing too much hay to actual size those can for us I don't mean good quality diet if you do those cover those elements spawn those is something that's great treatable dogs normally do quite well so this is really awful Plus it's a shameful and all hopeless case no yeah yeah yeah no I mean she had that we could it help to see if she by 2050 point 8 killers I would like to get their effect. In life I think during a boarding school or. Yeah I listen I listen you know we could all we could all hear what it's you are you know and it's so difficult when you love it. And. Has been able to give you comfort there in a hope so best of luck with that and best of luck with Millie it's just so difficult for people as who are supposed to do these things you see the x. Rays is quite a dramatic visual thing it looks quite dramatic but the thing is that dogs don't we do respond really well to treatment and do well so it's not such a negative diagnosis Ok And let's go on said understood morning on a. Well paid Good morning well. I can also help. Well Kelly can. Lean on. Always being. She's a Celebrity Get Me Out of little patches between Kubrick we got the most for a respite care and serious hosting ventures absolutely fighting the floor like I was on the front porch and she was trying to look scary and shit starts squatting in the corner and studying and I thought. What exams and she had actually done a little the March of year old Ok Carla the up and says that Madonna has a lot because after all if so are you get any ideas has all the Cher arms she's a boat too too old sparky Sparky the same age or look a little spicy is hard when boys Honeyboy just past 8 years old right under the goose they'd normally roast the porch as far as they venture far below those that are growing Yes And has anything changed the home of any change in lay the structure of home a anything change of the routine around with Mother No no no no no no no no it's completely out of the mood yeah so I think you know cats are you know one of the pieces no it's not an uncommon thing for them to do that you know and often as a behavioral thing so and I can sure as she's 2 years old. And healthy otherwise any other what he's our solution is ever so slightly over we. Go Let's look at that little colleague It's Ok so if she's fed healthy otherwise almost all of this is behavioral So you know we've mentioned some of these things previously but the basic things to do home Lake Havasu of trees in the house even if they're late they're going to save having the trees in the house probably is a wise thing to do to have any trees in one on our trees in the house or else you got to say I think yeah Ok so if a tree in the house made me say this I mean you may not think. But of but should I as may actually be fair to go with the you know use the toilet in the house and use the litter tray and maybe put it in the porch with us where she peed the back of a simple thing to do and that may immediately and you should go to where you provide for her rather than going in the proper way but. Peeing it can be marking Ted It sure it can be that came a thing for sure I don't know personally because it looked after for a few years yeah I think the fight is just that tiny tiny drop the lot of talk therapy these are like a smile here but these are important things like her straining that would suggest that maybe she is in a bit of discomfort and it's a tenet she Marken tentative marking normally wouldn't Miss Lee be like that so I think this is more likely a behavioral thing and straight into your name it would be akin to stressful component to that so have an initial archery you know ideally probably more than one lurch in the history wise maybe giving them a bit more space to feeding them separately from each other upgrade in different is so they can eat so the not right on top of each other. Helps or just the stress in the house. But to take to avoid going there is no. And I don't think good luck with the sparky and sure are a wonderful honest favorite to place. And well they were the type one look all the time to look over the title Nicole and Alistair's and I'm faced Good morning Alister. Morning and I also had such a loss I didn't realize I'm good. I was just wondering how much it's really for and I walk on all day I'm not feeling that it's up but I think it gets lonely sometimes wonder what would happen if a car. Had a female but it didn't go if. I said I thought you know cats are quite a soul the animals to some degree said you know it wouldn't your cow what your cat called Alice the. Well Allison. Oh no for goodness sake don't think we lost the language we didn't find out just as name there's a must as Can't say my love didn't know the name is my favorite. So I'm disappointed about. The situation I wouldn't be too worried about the cats being lonely quite often cats do like their own space and you know it really did too with Shiraz and Sparky just before often if they are on top of each other and that in a closed environment especially if you're not our own join the day that can thing about me increase the stress and anxiety so it would be you know not every Katniss of Lee would need a companion to catch me with a cat's lonely I mean you can know what dogs do is kind of let you know very obviously they don't like being on their own for long periods of time they will hang on stop press Alice's bank Hi Alister How do you as he did a 100. Touch. Monkey right and he's got a Christmas tree up right before he monkey What makes you think monkey might be a lonely Asta. Well. She was going to do it at night she's just a friend I thought it should be a good yet. Often or not right is there any any school for you to lay a monkey good Seders not a nonstarter for you Well well when you do and after you know you know when you go I'll let you know I literally right well Ok I must try. To go far right so I mean from what you see if monkeys can go you say that taser doesn't go too far and you know monkeys 4 years old I think I wouldn't be too worried about monkey be lonely you know and I think maybe what you could do 1st of all raw and get another cat and put it into your home environment and do not you know or and maybe get a cat flap the late monkey have the option of going to sites you get really good coffee shops have good microchip scholars on them so that you know it will relate monkey and I that may be something to do you can have 1st of all because I think often bring in another cat to try to you know to think they would meet monkeys life more fell they don't know if I would nestle away not so I think I probably maybe see if monkey wanted to grow a bit more I thought was I see thing to try that 1st of all. All right right good luck Alice thank you very much. And you know we go and when we got our dog was the kids want to call it session right but I said No I thought I'd be too confusing I did and like you very much Ross that was an interesting photo it was interesting things that I do hope Allison gets on well with their let's mentally I'll say you could get into voice what it was and Ross we will see you in a couple weeks and it's thank you very much get it on with Brian Barnett see the thing the soles of your pants on tonight's. Still to come Helen Mirren all shook up being about it I have to say I don't like the word feisty I don't know why it's something to do because I think it's always related to women and was then as I say or maybe a kid maybe but a funny in something I don't know why but you know I found. Feisty doesn't like feisty things that kind of I mean plateau I mean I would like to stay doing face Day Ball see if except at that one and it will talk about that a bit later is it cheaper to loose fruit and vege a new sell by dates answer to foodways what we're talking about that if we've got time I have to say it's 1122 already and all you need another clue to if a name the place. Gacy voice able to quote that is believe portent to have to go entirely there Ward and day to keep it to all of the other who had children who had faith in evil diseases he called her and he displayed in very poorly just day and really suffering because if you had said it all and has seen it all hers and it in a plate of trust to help to make that happy and help to ensure that it was able to call on Kuwait devoted Haitian. Because the chief macho man is not just that you battles with such a difficult condition it's all that he does to try and help others. That's create That's what I myself was closest out until he stated was the office even left the ward and display everything and he goes to a daily basis and he has asked people say over sanity help the other children and to a catastrophe to those other children and you know and has fully sons. But he is here to look at the for the debt that's the best that has not been a good foot in one other cats and I said more to. Some of this change that he's devoted to Astral had settled a few of those children had lost at least to. Out in the sea taking that in July and he was heartbroken for the families he told as he didn't want a moment to families to be upset and he didn't want to intimate if he seems to die and that means that they can and will cause more to. Do more. To help. Her you cope in with us. And then it faded to Africa. He has really suffered it and there's been a few times the past few months late Will had maybe been in a fight you know when I was teaching a little. What And I have already. Got a national played up and has given and I'll have a spark back you know he's. Good to see him smile when I see him to tend to to try and help that child an escape. Radio Scotland travel thank you very much Victoria and John Beattie is here to tell us we are going to have quite a story really amazing family very humbling very home thing indeed we were talking about Russian interference in referendums and elections exactly what are they do we know they've got their that promote various divisive bits of stuff so we try to find out why this report's not being released into. This report and this well there is a report into Russian if you like meddling in our you know our constitutional processes now we know this and they play in the United Kingdom and we know that Democratic thing. Smith The m e p had a bit of research I think it was a year or so ago where we know that many of the bots that are retreating stuff like probe Rex it sometimes pro independence stuff it's it's Russian bots some of them think $400000.00 is what was going to the last of the bricks at referendum so we know that you know Russia's advantage would be to break up anything and deal with smaller chunks doesn't mean that any course of action taken by any of those parties is young but the allegation is that it's being suppressed because that's what this report shows you don't know that that's not the case here and obviously we don't know there's no we don't know the source do it we haven't tracked this. But I mean we have all been living here also security services has been published hasn't been published yet I'm innocent until the report is published exactly what the other stories around the fact that have there been lots of bits of research by different universities as to the prevalence of Russian bots and social media and Facebook and Twitter so there's no argument about that but what this report says may be different yes yeah and as to who is controlling those Russian bots that's the other thing that we don't Ok good point good point I got that good. We've got a long interview with McKillip McCullum he's. The Pru to the line Melissa Reed from Lindsay. Was found guilty of trying to smuggle 11 kilograms of cocaine out of Lima when she was in prison she became a tourist attraction people would come and visit them extraordinary you go to much you preach you then go to visit the drug smugglers in jail oh my lodging is that say it is true it's true of just interviewed a pre-record the jacket she wore thought that. Exactly she was told that people weren't dressed and how even as the Peru smugglers the police proved rug smugglers . And she talks of some pretty horrendous stuff that happened to abounds of some of the guards male guards and the female dominating the more dominating female prisoners but talk about that only to be the the apprentice of the year as well don't know much about that but that'll be life but it's it's worth a listen when you absolutely look at the stupidity of drugs you should be it's just stupid oh yeah I'll do I'll do it and a whole bag full of porridge Oh yes that actually a cookie Yeah of course he. Hasn't actually written a book that's why we interview these people they come on that's the deal isn't it yeah we need to be them but there's no glory in what you've done as a as a human being but I'm here for the made me money to make. She says isn't going to Ok she thinks oh she certainly this is your only thing is he going to make your 1st one that is very well worth pointing out different Ok Ok Richard Jones thank you very much indeed it is 1135 this is chaotic with the on b.b.c. Radio Scotland Coming up why Helen Mirren doesn't like being cold feisty and we need to get other clues for name the place where we're doing with our guesses we've got more coming in says she and Paisley No I'm afraid no it's not Prestonpans and it is not our truth shall we just all of the clues and then we know where we are and you've got basically 20 minutes to see if you can get it correct before Professor Carol Huff cryptic Carol as we love to call her as opposed to Mystic Meg she's cryptic Carol will become in a fight that says that's going to stick now isn't it cryptic and she's going to coming up just about $5.00 to $12.00 and she will tell you where the places today and explain all these clues to you so the Foursquare gave to you was its assault tearing Clue number 5 is it has a unique link with a famous. And Clue number 6 an event from nearly 500 years ago appears in a ballad about a local hero who shared another name but the pirate clue what. Scooby Doo but also people who get lots of correct answers and Joan and Paisley Well done you've got to correct bing bing there's another one and correct or no I'm not going to say it just in case Allister American might have got it correct but I'm not prepared to commit myself it would 2000005. So how many of us on The One Show last week on the b.b.c. And she took exception to one particular word I have to say I don't like the word feisty I don't know why it's something to do because I think it was related to women it was they never. Made a funny. But. You know like if I state does she have a point you know she said well we don't talk about face to man we don't talk about a bossy bloke is this another word that is used to kind of patronize women and put them in their place I didn't realize to be honest here to help. Runner a professor of social policy at starting university Good morning to you Kristen morning morning and journalist Angela stunning Good morning Angela good morning good morning. Kristin feisty what do where does it come from the dead of a show that I've got children Paracha who's telling me their original meaning of feisty is to break wind no wonder Helen dislikes I don't know if that's true at all I mean are we calling our Sauter feisty I was I don't know I think I would object I think that would go to day ssion I think what it is that this why is there a commonly associated in an insulting way if they are the opposite of what is expected of that agenda so what the Web feisty is doing and that is I think she was talking about her role as Catherine the Great was talking about you know a woman who actually steps outside of the norm of being amenable pliable etc and actually talent is those conventions and I think she's actually right in a way to point out of course we wouldn't say feisty man because if I say a man is expected to be powerful to challenge conventions etc So it is and a way it's not just reflecting the way we use language but also the way in which we use language also shapes the way we think about things we've got lots of research that shows that this actually works in workplace it's you ations where women who are leaders are expected to be kind and caring leaders and if they step outside of that they get insults that bossy rather than assertive I've got a 13 year old girl who's constantly being told that she's bossy rather than she has leadership potential kind of thing and my sons were never told that thing so it might be a kind of fun kind of thing oh yes let's just make fun of people and call them feisty but actually does reflect sort of gender stereotypes that run a lot deeper than that but also interesting the way you explain it you know we say oh you wouldn't call a guy you wouldn't call a guy feisty because as you say there is a kind of assumption they are going to be all of those things so there would that's within their nor. So would the equivalence be the guy to say oh he's a very soft hearted Yes I mean we see this we don't we talk about career women and working mothers we don't talk about career men and working fathers and actually this again does have an impact this isn't very interesting is that it shows that men are much less willing to admit that they have family and caring commitments and that they have that work life balance thing going on and we do know that women are bearing the double burden and to actually attack challenge that and we know that that leads to gender stereotypes in the workplace but it also is directly attributable contributes to the gender pay gap so in order to challenge that we need to see more that it's Ok for men to be caring and fathers and it's Ok for women to be leaders and dominant and of language is those kinds of attitudes reflected here so in some ways I mean there are there are words I mean I've got a long list here that you know clearly have insulting comment connotations bolshie but she doesn't really say that you know bright sell a public of a you know the you know they're clearly within a realm a judgment is being imposed but take the word ambitious which I think is interesting if you were to apply that to all she's very ambitious there might be a bit of a kind of sideways swipe here as you say it is very ambitious that I get it would be understood differently wouldn't it would and if you acted this and again this very interesting research on this in job interviews that looked at the way in which people right qualitative assessments of how people perform in job interviews and ambition associated with a male candidate is seen as a positive attribute an ambition associated with a female candidate is seen as a negative attributes again I don't want to harp on this but it's not just the way we talk with that actually reflects the way we think and the way we act so it is something about you know if we actually start questioning these the assumptions behind the become very very. Clear and then we can start on picking some of the issues that the most structural issues that deal lead to these inequalities so you have some sympathy with Helen Mirren taking exception to that I do and I think you and I both work in areas where we attract a lot of commentary on because of agenda and I think you know I defy you to find me a b.b.c. To female journalist who hasn't been called something and some point I'm not know asking you to know yes 2nd 700. We all have I have as an academic I've been called names that my colleagues haven't been cool the bow being you know bolshie and things like that because I stand up and say things and it's really quite endemic particularly in public life and when we're commenting on people like Helen Mirren who are in public life. You know things like feisty I mean remember in 1975 well you weren't necessarily not. Your listeners some of your listeners will remember in 1975 she was on the Michael Parkinson show and she was having. Female attributes like a breast being commented on and she was one of the 1st people that you can't comment on that has nothing to do with my acting now we wouldn't do that now that it's taken you know it does take the could of sexism is a little bit more insidious and less obvious now but it doesn't mean it's any less damaging what is same conjurer would you be offended if you were. Just anybody Stacey about anything ask anything of if there's but in all seriousness I think there's an obvious state there's a great deal of language is certainly playing catch up the way that the cultural norms are applied 2025 years ago when absolutely ditched at home when the child was equally distributed these things that these kind of what we now regarded pejorative terms I would say this about Helen Mirren I think in this case she spoiling for an argument and I think what she does do is she meets and disempowers to really take stuff we do need to talk about in terms of objects occasion of women oh well women . Labeled in ways that we now regard is very negative and how will it discriminate and feisty I think is is a bit too much sort of it's really shown world which has been applied more to men and women are quite different to calling for a working mother rightist definitely labels genuine What would you talk about. Maybe I would maybe i wouldn't it would if I was being honest it would be the 1st for that would come to mind but equally as a woman I don't find it insulting to call high stakes I mean there are certain things that have become kind of double actually terms of origin semantics right now why but I call my husband and I call he goes on and on about about the fact that I could love a car or whatever is going on about I left the central heating off and I said you're such a knack and he doesn't actually he called me a lot afterward that relates to him and I think as an introvert but if he looked up he had a feeling that negative about women Chanology is very fluid nothing you just have to be careful how. Well yeah I mean is this a battle I guess. I don't know I've got read have been cool feisty all my life and to be a massive change in me I would love it would point out that that is probably one of the least offensive things I've been. Jailed yet I guess you know kind of thing but I mean I do think that some of that I agree with Angela by going to agree with the you know some of these things about it doesn't it sounds homeless when you're on picket it isn't actually that the the presumptions behind it are not that homeless and I think that we're having this discussion and saying actually no this reveals lots of gender norms and stereotypes that remain hidden as an important part of the discussion. So the other one and this is maybe I've got this but go sit. Very very well it's a tribute to a bunch of guys guys do it also they told Chris it's interesting still has Alzheimer's discussion about why it man. Oh we must do lunch a lot of the things a psychologist said and I think wages at meeting up. I know I have male friends who are letting kind of go. But it's again it comes back to stereotype that I think it's shifting up because playing more. Of it whether it's talk about stuff they didn't talk about it's interesting they all said my husband the public all of these lights come back and say well what did you talk about all evening I. Was waiting outside of me for good gossip so again it's that fluidity of language I think is that men do talk I mean I know we do with that there is that stereotype they come home from the pub but again looking at some of the research about how people talk about people in the workplace where I think it does actually matter because it has implications for them how they treated and how things how people evaluate them when they come up for promotions and things men do talk about other people's characteristics and they are and from my experience my qualitative not statistically significant this is. As bad as the women being negative about other people about things that are really nothing to do with the price performance let's put it that way whereas if women do that yet it's gossip and it's denigrating etc So yes I do think we can sort of you know there are gender issues behind the these kind of language and it's not except when women do it in is except it's just networking or talking about. Analyzing. Analyzing the film and it's kind of thing whereas women are just bitching kind of thing that somebody well one of the worst thing somebody said to me and I saw you talking to CMOs and such are you bitching because you literally bank I mean. Honestly man can't take this to the Kleeneze on how. I'm not being you know I'm not that we need to do this but when a judge Laura and met women and men are. Similar Let's get some crazy. Log cabin. If you figure out enough Listen thank you very much because there are a professor of social policy at Stirling University and until Epstein and a journalist Yeah come on you've got time to come back on as 8 to 95 is is the text number. Right what we're talking about loose fruit and vege next are we here this is one of my favorite things that should this is a research today by waste and resources action program or wrap up for short suggesting that fits the food brought into our homes ends up in the bin as waste and so some of the suggestions that they've put to reduce include reducing the price of loose fruit and vege as well as getting rid of sell by date so here to tell us a bit more Helen White the self turned food waste lady she does what she says on the 10 from rat to Good morning to you Helen you learning good morning good morning and so in what way would that be helpful then. What we're asking for today we publish some guidance today on on fresh projects and what we're saying is that we would like to see more prodigies sold with that best before date on more of it so please what this does is a little bit of a double whammy in the fact that we think it's going to help to reduce food waste and also the use of single use and problematic plastic Now the sell by date a lot of people find very useful because of course you know for health and safety so they make sure that they are not eating food. That might cause them harm so they say you write that date very important and actually the Ritchie date of the consumers need to know about One is the use by date and that's the one about safety that is the one that you should really take notice of and you'll see that on meat stage poultry things like that and that's a good reason it's there because eating seed after that date you know could cause a thank you problems on fresh prodigies but just the highest wasted category of food the most wasted product in the u.k. In the potato home really really is they carry a best before date and that's a day that is about quality so it's saying that it's Ok to eat after that date but it might just might not be to specify. The very presence of a day can affect your behavior you are more likely to use the product before the date and less likely to use it to it so that's best before date on fresh projects which is very high the way it could be a little bit of a little red herring and what we're asking is maybe there are some of those fresh produce factors whereby 8 Ok to use your judgment and actually we will probably be more likely to use them up in Ricci's that tree twice yeah I mean it's interesting we were talking about this morning I. Found a narrow office there was a bit of a generational difference because I mean I wasn't brought up with. All of those days you know they were introduced to a later stage and so I less as well could I do the fridge on its own tempted to get up and use it you know and I had a big say I know there might be my kids for instance. Which is quite a regular occurrence start to serve up something for. Day The less I want is that I want to get that in any of it. So you've got a whole new generation has just become accustomed to that are well below it is the east of the day the some people do use them to manage their food in their home but what we found out today is that everything crisp likelihood especially with party they're in a what we would like people to day is use their judgment a little bit more it's not everything and not everything is peaceful to just working the plastic off so if you think about things like stuff for a slight breeze and blueberries and things like that they're highly perishable they they squash very easily they need to be contained in something and there are lots of alternatives that people are looking for how those are present so in the case of certain things respond respond back you know not everything but we'd like to say we'll see that increase because one of the things they can say and the food white lady this is my my other area is a. We were one of the retailers and we found when produce was available people were purchasing the right amount buying what they needed in smaller quantities frequently and that is the behavior that can really help reduce Speedway them especially when you think back to that potato the most wasted saying not going to get an enormous bag of potatoes in the next few days and being able to buy a smaller quantity and use them all up including those can then last a really good way 3 g. Should be like well I suppose there's also people's habits as to whether they you know do a big food show up one so we know whether they do on a daily basis or a. A couple of days you know that's going to end pipe tone you know these big quantities isn't it. Absolutely and I think you know if you're able to buy what you need so we actually know that single person households they waste proportionately more food to send more real than household so it's really important for people in smaller households to be able to buy smaller quantities if you will you'll start with a giant bag of revenge to both and you know the chances if you get in trade out within the time frame and this is whether there's a day on it or not you would be intitled every day for an adult several day and you know much as we love to. Actually it's a really good thing to be able to do that we all say found it was a more considered as people were connecting with that more when it was less and we think that's a really important things to get people to to look fade and hate waste which is the name of the campaign delivers them where there is little use of brilliant information about how to keep your fresh produce it's best well Wilkinson pipe has an online shopping had gone on way to I mean you know you get your weekly shop domain other sort of things books or whatever but I mean your food shopping online . Onli I think I mean it depends on how you do your shopping quite a few that still shopping still and you know if it doesn't come delivered you can still it might be a little bit more difficult to pick some of the least quantities but you can do a having everything look myself on online you could see that you were able to buy a smaller one see all small quantities of carrot So how do you I don't think he's necessarily of the message that each case is what influences a the ability to be able to achieve similar constitution. And least 3 very justice that opportunity also has the benefit of the reduction of plastic package and the other thing I'm campaigning to get. Is the trolley the trolley I have no go nicely trolley that I go along the street with what you call them you know you know what I mean one of those. Things are like a shopping trolley like a shopping trolley big fan of the wheel a shopping trolley my children won't come within 10 yards of me but never might as well hello thank you very much indeed Helen fight the 1st with this twist but I've just invented your language the food waste. Coming up cryptic Carol which on Twitter Susan Morrison and Louise human 450 years ago our country was convulsed by waves of savage panics and purges leading to the judicial matter of valuations of our own citizens when we women for crimes they not only didn't push were impossible for anyone to commit a new podcast from b.b.c.
