No You know what drives the professionally and more kind of how did they come about writing the songs and how did they deal with being the shaman so I suppose is a good way of putting it and my professional footballers a lot of pop stars on the whole don't usually reveal a lot about themselves in the mainstream media and so this is a really good and rare example to hear quite a lot of gems from each of your favorite artists. And you know George himself is a self-confessed podcast fan and this for him started off as a hobby but now it's turned into a really not just a marketing tool but it is something that he's kind of now really invested in it might be something deep beyond music which I think is is quite telling of the pod cast industry as a whole and I picked a clip of George talking to Lily Allen I signed a deal when I was 19 for 25 grand 5 albums. I'm still in the till and it you know if I had thought that it was going to go where I would've asked for a lot more fucking money. And I was I wouldn't like the fact that I accepted that deal tells you where I saw so myself going which is where I kind of thought that I'd be stuck somewhere like in the Thames be like you know like Larkin love and Jamie t. And I kind of thought that's where I would sit and the sore stratospherically like success that happened almost overnight was totally unexpected and really overwhelming but you know I have one around me was like This is great everyone loves to you know and everyone was just coining it making so much money and. In terms of kind of globally this is much more kind of global looking because Netflix obviously is a global streaming platform and therefore they're put caps are trying to be reflective of their audience and vice versa so this it kind of does exactly what the b.b.c. One does in terms of making something that accompanies. The content on their platform made for fans primarily but instead of the one we just heard and with the office ladies this one kind of skips from one t.v. Show from one of the so to another one the next episode so. You know unlike the program specific show you kind of have to be you know you might listen to one you might probably skip the next episode it will be depends on what show they look at. And this is hosted by a comedian called Bobby finger I'd never heard of it but and. Yeah I mean it sounds like a comedian's name if not it's just an unfortunate Well is it I mean it depends on you know if I'm reference I'll certainly knew one but yeah he invites one guest every single episode that could be a fan could be a critic could just be a close friend and they just talk about what they're watching on Netflix essentially it's kind of like so me it's when you're looking good. Well I mean you know if we. Finger is listening and he says that he owes you some loyalty because you know I didn't write that down doesn't know me under his role did. I get a lawyer because it's a case that back but yeah this is this is supposed it's kind of like a school if I can use an American is a slumber party for favorite t.v. Shows and in this clip chosen Bobby and his guest Carla. To kind of bring it back to the u.k. a Little bit talk about what they called the Great British Bake in show. You know it's a bake off it's called The Great Bush Bacon show and it's really fascinating from my point of view anyway to hear what Americans think about c.b. Is watching the show it makes me want to bake it all every time I watch it I'm like I need to bank but I don't like everyone to make a cake yeah but I also tell myself like I'm like my I have like a shitty New York van like it's not calibrated it's not the right temperature I don't have a Kitchen Aid you have a stand mixer I have you know I wanted to I don't like you need it you need that to do it because there have been things that as I want to try to make that yeah and then you do kind of mean the stand mixer because you need to be able to let it go and then do other things and poor things in while it's mixing Yeah you have to do that I here's the other thing about baking you with cooking I can scale down a recipe baking you kind of have to make the amount that they tell you and so I'm like What am I to do with a cake like I live alone like what am I going to get you know you have to bring it to something that you have to bring it to yeah and I don't find myself in a situation often enough you know where baked goods are requested of me I made or the last time I made a cake was because I had people over Yeah and even then there was half a cake left right and I mean we finished it over the course of like a few days but after that after it was done it was like I was kind of glad to be rid of it right because every meal we were just having a slice of cake of 2 words I think you need like I remember Raul worked in an office he was like a science. Yeah but he was like he brought his food there are a lot that's right so I think you need like if I weren't any more of a corporate environment and I was bringing in treats all the time like it's like The Office you know they're like always eating cake on the office that I would maybe bake I understand that like because that's sort of a joke on like a succumbing thing like that and I really do understand the appeal now that I think about it if you like it well that only baking as a hobby but what do you do with it you take it to work yeah and then your coworkers you know look forward to it making less money while you because he was like I wanted to make friends that's what I was you know right because he has moved from India. I grew up there were literally like I need to make friends and I'm quiet and I'm like I don't like talking so much I make and it work you're right I want to give them I saw I wrote another thing that I loved about the show was how nice they are to each other you know it's how they help out even though it's a competition doesn't oh it's because no one they're really doing it for the love of yeah no one's doing it to like get rich or really to get famous and so there's something more pure about all of it and it's one of those reality shows where everyone's good yes you know where it's like even if you lose you could still get something out of it do you remember Ruby like hot Ruby she looks like a model I feel like she was in college or university with oh there she is yeah I'm sure. And I did a little stick you know she didn't when she was like 2nd place right like 2nd or no runner up but she I think parlay that into something Ok good for her. And then when you and I guess it's been sort of touched on a little bit his childhood in the latest series of clear out which we talked about it's becoming a little bit more in with looking we're getting to know a bit more about the fab 5 but this article and this I seemingly this memoir is going to share a whole lot more about j.v. Ins pastas Yeah it's very open as far as as far as I can tell from what he said in this interview you haven't read the book obviously it's not there yet but he has decided in the age of Trump and this is a great quote he said to I want to talk about my status that means he's out of a positive status. And that's what he's brought up in this new book he's really revealed a lot of his self in his past and. He said and then I was like the trumpet ministration has done everything they can. Due to have the stigmatization of the community thrive around me I do feel the need to talk about this and he has gone into it at length and all power to him because. I feel that the more we express our reality and our truth the less you know the bullies that we mentioned in the previous bit the less that they can attack you can't hurt if it's out in the open year and the more people that come out with that stuff in the open you realize you're not alone you know there's a common story and it can help people it can help so many people and it's it's so important to share this stuff but it's hard to share this stuff because inevitably you get attacked and one of the things that this article I think does really well is that you know you think about the the character or you know the personality of j.v. In in the series and obviously he's a lot more laid than that but he's kind of the perennial cheerleader and I guess for him it would have been a big leap to talk about some of the darker sides of his past and even in the interview while he's chatting with this New York Times journalist people are coming up and they just kind of want the selfie and he's just politely sort of saying hey look it's not the right time but just having that sort of expectation the you always the op guy and one of the things that he says in this article is which really stuck with me was I want people to realized you're never too broken to be fixed which is such a beautiful time to I guess what the you know the core sort of idea behind Queer Eye is in particularly more recently it's the you know it's a make over Sorry that's not just about aesthetics but it's about something deeper and he's actually talking about the journey that he's come from and he comes from a very real place and that yeah you can say that it comes through it comes through this crane it's it's beautiful and it's been difficult for him he hasn't had an easy life and.
