Who have served this country and lost their lives fighting in the nations wars. It is his first day home since his nineday trip oversea, a viszity that did not sit well with Angela Merkel making waves saying this. Translator the times when we could completely count on others, they are over to a certain extent. Ive experienced this in the last few days, and that is why i can only say that we europeans must really take our fate into our own hands. Merkels spokesman added context to the remarks. Fred pleitgen is live in london with more. How do you read this . That was a startling statement from one of our biggest allies and her spokesperson seemed to walk it back a little bit. Im not sure hes walking back but stephen ze ibert the spokesman for Angela Merkel. Those who have accompanied chancellor merkel journalistically for a long time know how important the german american relations. Theyre a pillar of our Foreign Policy and germany will continue to work on and strengthen those relationships. So on the one hand hes clarifying her remarks but i do still think Angela Merkel does feel very or quite alienated by President Trump and some of the things she heard at the g7 summit in europe, some of the things he said about germany where he felt germany was bad for exporting so many cars to america but also some of the things that he said about nato allies leads Angela Merkel to believe maybe the u. S. Cannot be trusted at this point or with the administration the way it could in the past or doesnt have germanys back the way it did in the past. Poppy . Right, and you heard those stark remarks that were opposite of one another when we saw them speak at the nato headquarters prompting what merkel said. Heres the thing. She is sort of the polar opposite of President Trump when it comes to temperament and the Washington Post put it this way highly cautious, the speech is not an impulse move. This is something that was calculated. Ive been covering Angela Merkel since 2000. Ive known her since she was an Opposition Leader in germany. She was reserved and calculated, a doctor of physics and not someone who comes out with off the cuff remarks she hasnt thought through. Shes currently in an Election Campaign but so far ahead of the polls that no one really believes shes actually in line to lose this election. She will have not done this in sense of being in the Election Campaign she would have calculated this, we need deeper ties with europe and give a warning to the u. S. As well that germany is feeling alienated at this point. Fred pleitgen thank you very much. President trump returned to washington over the weekend. He left behind bruised alliances overseas and landed home in a pretty deep crisis. During those nine days he was gone much of the focus especially at the latter end of the trip was on his soninlaw Jared Kushner and reports he tried to set up the secret backchannel to communicate with the russians, with the kremlin. The white house is scrambling to defend those actions and contain the fallout. Athena jones is live at the white house with more. Last night finally after the trump team said were not going to comment, not going to acknowledge that, the president did give a statement to the new york times. Hi poppy. Thats right he did and part of what the statement says is jared is doing a great job for the country. I have total confidence in him. The president went on to say that kushner is respected by virtually everyone, and hes a good person, working on projects to save the u. S. A lot of money, but this is clearly a story line just the latest in a series of bombshell reports that is raising eyebrows and raising concerns among people certainly outside the white house. You have a former intelligence officials like Michael Hayden, who was the former director of a National Security agency who said this move, this reported move by kushner was off the map, not something hes ever, no other experience hes seen in our history or certainly in his lifetime. Meanwhile you have democrats on capitol hill, folks like adam schiff, the top democrat on the House Intelligence Committee who are also raising concerns and folks like Homeland Security secretary john kelly trying to defend kushners move saying its not a big deal. Take a listen to what schiff and then kelly had to say exactly. If these allegations are true and he had discussions with the russians about establishing a back channel and didnt reveal that, thats a real problem in terms of whether he should maintain that security clearance. I dont see any big issue here. My line of communication to a country like russia is a good thing. Reporter its not surprising to hear Homeland Security secretary defending Jared Kushner but this is going to raise a lot more questions on capitol hill to add to the long list of questions investigators already have about this entire russia issue. Poppy . Thank you very much. Ath athena jones at the white house. Is this off the map or what kelly just described. Julian zelezer, analyst and historian and professor at princetop university, david rhode, and salina zita cnn contributor. How normal is aa backchannel. It has worked before. How normal is it . The line seems to be this is much ado about nothing. Whats totally abnormal he was talking about using a russian Government Communication system to secretly go into the russian diplomatic facility and use that, thats extraordinary, very strange and i think alarming. Its the way its reported by us, by the Washington Post. So you feel more safe and secure with the russian government and their Communication System than the rest of the American Government . What are you trying to hide in. The the Washington Post and the team point out perhaps this is false and not true and the russians were planting this to see if the u. S. Was listening in on that line. Thats a possibility. It could be disinformation but we have the pattern of kushner not disclosing his meetings with the russians. Reuters reported friday two calls between kushner and kislyak he has not disclosed so its a pattern. And reuters cites seven different former and current u. S. Officials. Julian, you wrote an oped, is this the nixon card . There was a back channel in the Nixon Administration to russia before the august nation and it was successful. You ended up with the Nuclear Arms Agreement or this can be more akin to an affair. So the positive story is that under Richard Nixon Henry Kissinger would conduct negotiations in a backchannel with the soviet ambassador. Even before he took over as president nixionnixon, and it culminates in this Historic Arms agreement in 1972. The other backchannel though was in the middle of the campaign, people connected to the nixon campaign, told the south vietnamese dont enter into a deal to end the vietnam war. Youll get a better deal with Richard Nixon as president. Lyndon johnson heard about this, he said it was treason but he never said that publicly. So we dont know which comparison is more apt. Selena to you, switching gears here the president comes back from the trip overseas and calls it a gate success with big results. He doesnt hold one press conference so we can ask questions so we have to follow his tweets as his thoughts on this one, and then chancellor Angela Merkel comes out and says the times when we could completely rely on others to an extent are over. She didnt need to say President Trumps name or the United States to make very clear who and what she was talking about. This is a president who ran on an America First platform. Is this what they want . Yes, it is. I just came back from seven different states in the past two weeks, and this, for chancellor merkel to say this, the voters that put him into office would be like whats the big deal . No, they shouldnt have to rely on us all the time, because weve got to focus on our own domestic problems that are affecting our lives and affecting our communities, and thats what he ran on and thats what hes important to us. Lot of his voters i talked to, even ones who did not support him and sat out the election viewed this trip as successful in that he went there, he spoke strongly, a lot of people are not going to agree with what he said, but he did what he said he was going to do in terms of talking about nato, and talking in his decision or indecision on the paris accord, and a lot of sort of voters that supported him look at this as a successful trip. You have to remember, though, david rhode, whose hand this plays into. Growing discord between the United States and our biggest allies in western europe plays into Vladimir Putins hand. He has a meeting with french president macron today. If youre sitting in the kremlin looking at this, are you happy about it . This is what putin has been trying to achieve since he took over. For years and years there is discord but again people, his voters vote trumps voters wanted this, this is no surprise, two years of him talking about a distance from nato, and then a closeness i think to authoritarians, to putin and others. But at the same time julian could you flip the card and look on the other side. If trumps rhetoric and lecturing of our nato allies gets them to pay more finally if hes a president who succeeds at doing that, then that will be a stronger nato against russia. But its not clear thats how it will play out. Many members of nato unhappy with his rhetoric w his demeanor, with these kind of moments and the irony is obviously if this alliance weakens, america wont be stronger as President Trump promised, it will actually be weaker against adversaries such as russia. So im not sure voters thought out all the consequences of how this could play out. So since hes returned home, selena, he has tweeted the president , five times, i was counting them this morning, about what he deems to be the fake media. He has used that word five times in all of these different tweets, okay . He didnt hold a press conference as i said so we have to read this as what is top of mind for him because we cant ask him any questions right now. Right. What is the strategy here . You come back from this Huge International trip and you talk most about your typical line about the fake media. I dont understand the strategy. Well, i think it would be in his best interests as difficult and tough and as questions that have nothing to do with the event would have hit him, it would have been in his best interests to go out and face the press. You know, there are questions that he hes his best advocate and theres a school of thought, im just going to use twitter as a way to get past the press and thats okay maybe here and there, but its important for the president to take the hard questions, to face the information that the American Public wants and you know, hes able to tell his own story, and the press is also able to pull out how he feels about things, not only on the trip, but also the problems that hes facing at home. Thats true, because we and everyone else would have ka areried that press conference life in its entirety. Its not like it would be edited down and he could tell his story. Selena thank you very much. Julian and david we appreciate it. Overnight north korea firing off yet another missile test, this is the third in as many weeks. How the u. S. Is responding. The president just tweeted about it. Also get ready for tighter security at the airport, the Homeland Security secretary says u. S. Planes are still a top target for terrorists. And a live look right now this morning on this memorial day at Arlington National cemetery, where we are honoring those who have died, given the ultimate price, paid the ultimate price serving for this country. The president is set to speak there a little later this morning. Well take you there live. Stay with us. Bring your challenges. This morning, President Trump lashing out at north korea after north korea test fired another missile, the third launch in as many weeks. He tweeted requestst north korea has shown disrespect for china pi shooting off yet another Ballistic Missile but china is trying hard. Straight to will ripley, hes spent a lot of time in north korea. He joins us today from tokyo. This is the third test in as many weeks but what is significant about it . Is it different from the others . Does it show an advancement . Not really. This is a scud missile that north korea launched, it flew less than 300 miles, it landed in japans exclusive economic zone, those are waters close to the west coast of japan, which of course is infuriating for the Prime Minister here in tokyo, who promised concrete action against the north korean regime led by kim jongun. What does concrete action mean . What can the United States, japan and south korea do that they havent done over the last decade or longer to stop north korea from launching these missiles . The answer is poppy, not a whole lot. The pressure is on china, why you saw that tweet from President Trump once again talking about china doing its best to rein in north korea but we dont know what that is. China stopped buying coal from north korea but trade with north korea and china was up 40 at the beginning of this year. I saw a lot of evidence of chinese products on store shelves, chinese cars on the roads in north korea when i was there last month. This is an economic relationship that continues, and beijing really cant dispute the fact, poppy, that chinese money billions of chinese dollars are going into this economy and helping north korea continue to develop the weapons and test them time and time again, week after week. No question. That relationship, the economic ties are strong and the banking relationship between north korea and china is a big, big part of this. Will ripley thank you for the reporting. Joining me on set is democratic congressman Gregory Meeks of new york, he sits on the Foreign Affairs committee. Lets start with the north korea and the Bigger Picture to get your response to Angela Merkels comments. You were in south korea not that long ago and the last time you were on the show with me and john, you said that north korea had, china has not done enough, we have not seen enough from china. What is it that you want to see that you this i this administration isnt doing to stop the economic support that were seeing for north korea from china. I think the report just earlier speaks to that. And you look at some of the parts that are being utilized for these weapons, et cetera, they come from china. And china has historically used north korea as a buffer. So that it does not want the United States involvement for example with the north china seas, et cetera. Weve got to have some tough economic conversations with china ourselves. Wouldnt you say this president is being tougher on china at least in terms of rhetoric, than his predecessor, than president owe ba marx when it comes to dealing with the north korea situation or is there something you saw in the Obama Administration you think the Trump Administration isnt doing . I think that what you see with this administration, theyre trying to, theyre talking to china, theyre not talking about further sanctions or even isolating china in a degree that we may have to, working with our other partners. This is why i think it is important for us to be engaged in multilateral relationships as opposed to bilateral relationships, and i think with the Obama Administration did, it worked in multilateral relationships so that it would be america and our allies pushing together. China does not like the fact that we have thaad, theyre in south korea. What should the Trump Administration be doing differently right now . Here is something that is not popular necessarily in domestic policy but what people did not understand, part of what the Obama Administrations position was, when he was talking about tpp, for example, it was getting all of these nations together, so it wasnt just about an economic trade agreement, et cetera, but it was also about a political agreement, alienating and forcing china to say china, youre interested in your economy . Youve got to deal with us. Its interesting because the sort of total failure and collapse of what tpp was going to be gives china more economic power in the region but it wasnt just President Trump who said no way to tpp, it was also hillary clinton. Let me get your take on what german chancellor merkel said the times where we could completely count on others are over. It was a clear message to the United States and to President Trump from one of our biggest allies in the world. Heres how david fromme, a vocality kric of President Trump tweeted since 1945 the supreme strategic goal in europe and the surks ussr and then russia was the severing of the u. S. German alliance. Trump delivered. He says this is a gift to russia. Absolutely. Multilateral alliances weve had with our allies who has the same kind of feelings and motivations as we have. We have the same raising standards, but russia wants more than anything else is for us to be divided, and so what happened on this trip, which i think was a failure, number one the failure of the president to agree explicitly that we would go along with article five, with i is the mainstream and the only time article five was really utilized. Collective defense. Thats right, 9 11, they did that. You have a failure of commitment in regards to this president to talk about the eu. You have the statements of this president saying that the nato in the past was not relevant, and then to try to lecture them when in fact, poppy, theres been an agreement by the nato allies by the year 2024 they will pay what theyre supposed to pay within that agreement. As you note the president did said nato used to be obsolete. Nato is no longer obsolete. He said that a few months ago changing his tone. I hear your point. Thank you very much for being here. Well see what comes next. We have a lot ahead. Laptops, ereaders, ipads banned from the cabin of some incoming flights to the United States. President trump will mark memorial day laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier to honor those who have given their lives, paid the ultimate price serving this country. We go to Barbara Starr joining us for a special report from Arlington National cemetery. Barbara, first just tell us the significance of exactly where you are at arlington. Reporter good morning, poppy. Were just down the hill from where the president will be speaking. This is section 60. This is very Hallowed Ground for the u. S. Military. It is here as you look around 890 souls at their final resting place, troops who were killed in action on the battlefield since the 9 11 attacks. 890 souls and of course so many more buried at cemeteries and towns and cities across this country. On this memorial day, this is a time when so many families come here, friends, battle buddies, to pay their respects to their loved ones. This is a place of great love year after year. We see the same people come back every year to make sure they pay their respects. This is really the history of the u. S. Military in the United States. Here we see many who have fallen in places weve come to hear about over the years, places like fallujah or kandahar or, its so many different places. Permit me a special shout out to those who fought and fell in the corengal and diyala, so many family stories here and we see everyone from grandparents to very small children come here and pay their respects on this memorial day 2017. Poppy . The ultimate gift so that all of us can continue to live free. Barbara starr, thank you for being there for us this morning. On this memorial day also, millions of you are traveling by air on some of those flights, heading to the United States. Already you have a lot of laptops, ereader, ipads banned from the cabin of the plane, this as the department of Homeland Security secretary says he might now expand that ban to all International Flights in and out of the United States. Our aviation correspondent renay marsh has more on that. This is something theyve been discussing for a while, but secretary kelly came out and spoke much more explicitly expanding that ban this weekend. Do we know why in why it points back to the intelligence, poppy, that is the line we keep hearing from the department of home lant security. Cnn first reported this on friday, Homeland Security secretary telling us that the restrictions on these Large Electronics thats currently in place at ten airports in eight muslim majority countries both in the middle east and Northern Africa could also eventually be implemented right here in the United States. That would mean that any electronics larger than a cell phone would not be allowed in the cabin of the plane. It would have to be checked into your luggage, that means no laptops, no ereaders, no ipads in the main cabin. Now kelly repeated this possibility over the weekend and also discussed the threat thats been driving the ban. Take a listen. Theres a real threat. Theres numerous threats against aviation. Thats really the thing that theyre obsessed with, the tris, the idea of knocking down a plane in flight particularly if its a u. S. Carrier, full of mostly u. S. Folks people. Its real. This is the most extreme measure taken to protect aviation from terror attacks since september 11th, but poppy t is important to point out that kelly still hasnt made the final Decision Just yet, but we hear obviously from that rhetoric there that we are headed in this direction, in his words, possibly this ban goes worldwide. Wow. Rene marsh thank you for the reporting in washington this morning. Secretary kelly you also heard from him and he weighed in on the big story dominating the headline this is weekend certainly, the russia investigation and all those questions surrounding the president s soninlaw, Jared Kushner, also one of his top advisers. Both secretary kelly and National Security adviser h. R. Mcmaster say they dont see any issue with the back channel with russia. Listen. We have Backchannel Communications with a number of countries, so generally speaking about Backchannel Communications, that allows to you communicate in a discreet man sore doesnt predistoes you to any content of that conversation or anything so no i would not be concerned about it. I dont see any bigger u. Any line of communication to a country particularly like russia is a good thing. No biggish auto you is the line from the administration. Cedric leyton a retired air force colonel as well as a former member of the joint chiefs of staff. Nice to have you here. Do you see it the way h. R. Mcmaster sees it or Michael Hayden when he says this is off the map. I see it the way general hayden sees it. It is absolutely off the map, hes 100 right about that. The big issue is the fact they wanted to use, reportedly, the russian Communication System to have that Communications Link to moscow. That is unprecedented. There is no doubt back Channel Communications have been used many times in the past, used to great effect in some cases historically as youve mentioned, but there are so many issues using a Foreign Communications system especially one related to an adversary of the United States and that would be russia. Can you speak to the utility but also their danger . Yes. Usually what will happen is somebody in a high position will ask that a message go to a particular country or to another element of the department of defense, or to the white house, and if you are in a position where you handled Communications Links like i did and n part of my military career, you can actually be in a position where you handled messages that lets say one other element of the government is not supposed to see. So those are the kinds of communications that i handled. I am also aware of communications that were handled between us and foreign governments. These communications can be used in a way that would allow for there to be a limited number of people who see the messages, and then they would only be acted on by those who are in the know and trusted to handle that particular piece of information. The risk of course is very high there would be leaks. Right. Thats why they keep it to a minimum. Senator lindsey graham, colonel, throwing some cold water, a lot of it on all of this over the weekend. Heres what he told dana bash on state of the union. I dont trust this story as far as i can throw it. It makes no sense the Russian Ambassador would report back to moscow on a channel that he most likely knows were monitoring. And look, the Washington Post reporting team adam entes and his team do note this could be disinformation, purposecally put in there false information to see if the u. S. Is listening to that line. Absolutely. The russians are masters of the art of disinformation and they want to make sure that when we do intercept their communications that they actually spoof those communications and make them look differently than what the facts on the ground are. Right. This one is a little bit different in my mind, because there is some details, there is this expression of surprise from ambassador kislyak, the Russian Ambassador to the u. S. It seems to me it is at least plausible this could have happened, so of course thats not evidence, but what it does mean is that there are certain elements of a story that are beginning to come together, and it is not quite the way senator graham sees it in my view. What it is, a possibility that something either sinister was afoot or that there was a degree of misunderstanding of how this system actually works or can work, and the fact that the administration wasnt willing to trust anybody in the u. S. Government with that particular type of communication is i think very, very troubling. Colonel Cedric Leighton thank you for being with us. You bet. There are new raids under way in the uk, another arrest in the manchester terror investigation. Well take through and get the latest right after this. Okay, i picked out my dream car. Nows the really fun part. Choosing the color, the wheels, the interior, everything exactly how i want it. Heres the thing just because i configured this car online doesnt mean it really exists at a dealership, but with truecar, i get real pricing on actual cars in my area. Right now we know that 14 people remain in custody, as authorities are carrying out fresh raids, searching for members of the concert bombers network that may still be at large. Last week they said they are trying to contain this network. The British Security services under intense scrutiny for possibly missing signs they say could have prevented this attack. Phil black is live in manchester for more. Any details oen what it is reported they may have missed in all of us this and how much progress authorities think theyre making at this point. Reporter poppy what were talking about first of all is a revoo you that will be conducted by britains intelligence and security services, Domestic Intelligence and security service, mi5, according to the government they will simply be looking at whether or not something should have been done that could have avoided this. Its a Lessons Learned exercise to see if Something Else that was perhaps done or a step missed or these sorts of things that could have perhaps prevented all of this that you see here behind me, the huge memorial im standing at to the victims of last weeks attack. In addition to that the police are continuing their investigation, and it is by all means still very active as we understand, you touched on the fact there have been more raids and further arrest, this has been going on through the weekend as well in total now 14 people are in police custody. The police are not yet revealing what roles they suspect these people of having played in the attack but theyve been talking about getting to the bottom of the network, getting their hands around the network and theyve made significant progress, building a real understanding about just who did this and how they were able to do it as well. And in a further sign of that progress we learned over the weekend in a decision made by British Intelligence that the National Threat level would be lower. In the wake of the attack it was raised to its highest classification, that is critical. The lowering of it to the second highest level means that authorities here no longer fear that the same group could strike again imminently. Poppy . As they work to contain this network, phil black thank you for reporting live from manchester. The president throughout the campaign and since he became president has promised, promised to bring many, many coal jobs back to this country. But do the people who run those mines actually think thats going to happen . Were going to debate it with stephen moore, next. To knowing they are. Going beyond expectations. Will stay in, or pull out of the paris climate accord. That agreement cracked down on Carbon Emissions from coal and other fossil fuels. But from the very start one thing has been very clear, President Trump loved coal. Were going to stop the regulations that threaten the future and livelihood of our great coal miners. My administration is putting an end to the war on coal. 27,000 new mining jobs. Who are the miners here . The miners finally, were taking care of our miners. Quick fact check on that 27,000 mining jobs claim. Its actually 21,000 mining jobs have been added so far under President Trump. Not 27,000. As he said. Any job added is a good job but were going to get into the future of these jobs, because one of the president s most senior economic aides is questioning whether the future of coal really is the future of america. And so are some big coal company executives. Joining us now is steven moore our senior economics analyst and former senior economic adviser to the trump campaign. Thank you for being here, especially on a holiday. Yeah, happy memorial day. I drove by Arlington Cemetery to get here and thousands of cars. It was very moving. Everybodys going in there to pay homage to our soldiers. Its a beautiful sight. Were going to hear from the president there in just about an hour. Youll see it live here. Steven, lets jump into your breitbart piece. Liberals were wrong, coal is back and you end the piece by saying king coal is on its way back just as President Trump promised it would be. We dug into the numbers. U. S. Coal jobs this year, 70,000. 2011, 130,000. The 1920s, 800,000. Yeah. Those jobs have been cut in half just in the last five, six years. Yeah. You argue coal plants are reopening. Which ones . So, by the way, the reason we lost all those coal jobs was the main reason was because of regulations that were put in place by president obama who tried to strangle the coal industry its also because Natural Gas Prices have just tanked and made coal less competitive. Poppy, its a combination of both. No question, low Natural Gas Prices have killed the solar industry, the Nuclear Industry has hurt the wind industry and hurt the coal industry. But theres no question when you talk to coal executives they say the knife in their back was some of these regulations put in place. Weve created, since election day, weve created 43,000 mining jobs in this country. Thats a pretty good number. We have 500 years worth of coal in this country, poppy, so we are the saudi arabia of coal. I think that no matter what happens in the future, coal is going to have to be part of our Energy Future so heres let me just help me if you, you know, if youre in to wind power you need coal to back up wind and solar because as you know, wind and solar are very intermittent forms of power so you need a more reliable source to back it up. And coal, look, this country was built on coal. The whole Industrial Revolution was really created by the advent of the coal industry. So let me get in here and get your response to what gary cohn is saying, right, because hes one of the president s top guys. Hes the director of the White House National economic council. Mmhmm. Heres what he said on air force one within the week he said coal doesnt even make that much sense anymore as a feed stop, meaning what is used in the Raw Materials thats converted into fuel, he went on to say natural gas is quote such a cleaner fuel and he said if you think about how solar and how much wind power we have in the United States, we can be a manufacturing powerhouse and still be environmentally friendly. That is in stark contrast to what the president himself is saying. So what gives . Look, i believe in a kind of all of the above. I think whatever is the most efficient should be used. Theres no question. Think about this, poppy, ten years ago natural gas was like 10 per million cubic feet so now its like three. Its been reduced so much in cost because of fracking. Fracking reduces Global Warming because you get all the natural gas which is a very clean, reliable, and abundant source of energy. But, look, i just dont think coal is going away unless we put im just saying gary cohn certainly sounds like it. And hes one of the president s top guys. Let me make one other point. Nobody knows. If i were sitting in this chair ten years ago poppy and we were talking about the future of inferring and i told you that we were going to have the biggest oil and gas boom in this countrys history nobody would have believed that. Nobody saw it happening, but because of shale oil and gas it happened. My point there is that nobody knows what the future holds. Maybe it will be solar. Maybe it will be natural gas. Maybe it will be nuclear. Its a fair point. Its look at what has happened in north dakota and the huge boom that weve seen to those economies because of it. However, there was a fascinating piece im sure you read it in the times over the weekend that talked about these big Coal Companies in appalachia turning away from coal. Appalachian power is the leading utility in West Virginia shifting more and more to natural gas and renewables. American electric powers president , this is a West Virginia company as well, president recalling a conversation with the democratic governor of West Virginia, saying, in january this conversation the governor said to him look id like to see you guys build another coal plant the president of this coal company says our answer was were not going to build another coal plant. Duke energy the ceo of wind good in this interview with the wall street journal said, she does foresee a future when zero percent of electricity comes from coal plants going the way they are now. Is it disingenuous to keep promising coal jobs to the American People from this president when even the Coal Companies are saying thats not really our future . Well, wait a minute, i dont think its disingenuous because we created 40,000 coal jobs just since the trump election. We recovered almost a third of the jobs that were lost under obama in less than four or five months. But what youre saying about, you know, not building new coal plants. Thats happening in every other alternative fuel right now. Natural gas is so cheap its clouding out everything. So the people who were say oh, we should use the solar and wind power, those arent being built very much now, either, unless theyre highly subsidized. So my point would be get rid of the subsidies, let the market work, lets see if solar look, wind is a stupid way to get electricity. Solar probably has some future. And i would envision a future where we use solar, some nuclear, some natural gas stephen, is this indepth Columbia University study, is it wrong then when it concludes, quote, trumps efforts to roll back environmental regulations will not materially improve Economic Conditions in americas Coal Communities are they just wrong . Thats false. Where did the 40,000 jobs come from theyre not all coal but theyre mining jobs. The war against mining. And look, i dont think we any of us know the future. But one last parting comment. We still get today, poppy, almost 35 of our electricity from coal. So its still the number two player in Energy Production in this country behind natural gas. Yeah, it is way down. Debate these things and im getting the wrap in the control room. Have a great weekend. Thank you.
