This doctor who says you dont have to wear a mask. She says theres a cure for coronavirus, thats not true and she said that medicine is made by dna alien and that women are being seduced by demons in their dreams. Joining me is Peter Navarro, always a pleasure to have you on. Well go by house rules not senate rules. I come in peace today. Just back from thats where i want to start. I want to start with this announcement, 700 million loan to kodak. To begin producing pharmaceutical materials, active ingredients which are the Building Blocks to so many treatments in this country. Why is it important to move that production to the United States . Well, first of all, were grossly over the pandemic. Not just for the therapeutical ingredients but what goes into maybing the api. With kodak, its the single biggest deal in american pharmaceutical history. Because it will transform this once Iconic Company into a power house that will once it gets fully ramped up over time will provide 25 , john, 25 of the api we need for our Generic Medicines and the important statistic there is that 90 of what we consume for our medicines are generic. So theyre not only going to do the api, but the key starting materials and it was a pleasure Walking Around the facility. It was bittersweet in a way because as we walked through the grounds its a huge 1,200 acres. I saw a lot of weeds growing where big buildings had been. When will they start producing materials they can use to start fighting the pandemic were in now . Theyre already producing some of the chemicals. Its small scale. What were going to do in a couple weeks is announce some contracts that they will have for the what we call the finished doses form, the tablets, capsules, injectables. Once we get those contracts done well see what exactly they can produce when. But its going to be in realtime. Another deal we did a month and a half ago is already producing pharmaceuticals. Why not do Something Like this a big deal like this to produce reagents which so many people tell us is missing right now. Theyre short of reagent in testing one of the things leading to the delay in testing. So why not do this today to get more of that produced . So maybe well have announcement soon about that. What i do, john, i have a big board with 30 or more companies at any given time. And what were looking for is just that. You know, were looking for testing swabs, looking for somebody who can do lateral flow assays for antibodies, key starting materials so its a process where im working very closely with people like paul mango at hhs, bob kadlec, the admiral, and this guy adam bowler, hes a beauty to work with. Hes a guy that the president used in the defense production act. Hes a ceo of the Development Finance corporation and he empowered adam shaw basically to be the bank for on shoring production and we were able once my team located the kodak footprint, we were able to put that deal together in two months with really diligent vetting. So we are doing this all the time. It is interesting. It is interesting and well follow it very closely as they amp up and begin production there. Peter, let me ask you, whats your opinion of dr. Stella emanuel . I have no opinion. I saw the brief, i had no knowledge of her. Heres what i can tell hang on. Hang on. You said just so people know, just so people know who do have knowledge of her, the president of the United States the president of the United States does and he promoted her views at the White House Briefing yesterday. Listen. I thought she was very impressive in the sense that from where she came, i dont know which country she comes from. But she said that shes had tremendous success with hundreds of different patients and i thought her voice was an important voice but i know nothing about her. You said last week real quick, last week you said thank you very much. The president is promoting dr. Stella emanuel and he tweeted out what she said yesterday. Shes always said if you dont know hang on. She said alien dna i saw the opener. Alien dna is used in what medicine. Science is i dont have youre having fun with. This. Oh, god, im not having fun with this. Im deadly serious. My question is, my question is, why lean on Stella Emanuel to make a medical point . So, look, my mission here is to help the president save lives and create jobs and this issue of hydroxychloroquine, what the president was talking about, i thought he did it in a very sophisticated way yesterday because he pointed out that its only efficacious in early treatment. I would suggest, dont believe me, dont believe dr. Fauci, bring on william oneill. I have spoken to william oneill. Well get to hydroxy peter, peter its not fair to me, john, to it is. He did quote he did quote dr. Oneill. He did quote dr. Rish at yale. He did talk about Stella Emanuel. He talked about this doctor who promotes demon seed. So im asking why should the do me a favor, john. I have nothing to say about that. I know nothing about her, if you want to use me as a prop to kind of play her clips because i have got stuff to talk about to you. Look, we talked about it. Can i say one more thing . One more thing. Hydroxychloroquine you talk about hydroxychloroquine a lot. And i stand by it. Im sitting on millions of doses of it, and you know what, how Many Americans died yesterday, john . 1,200. If the ford study is right, half of those people would be alive, okay . The ford study the ford study we reported on on the broadcast. Just so people know, the study did find that it had some effect on people who took it early but the study had limitations that you will acknowledge. Number one it wasnt randomized. It was not double blind. The people who took hydroxychloroquine were assigned and chosen by the researchers. Also, they were twice as likely to receive steroids which we know have been proven in Clinical Trials to help. That was controlled from the study. We had a really good dialogue about it. You and i arent going to settle this. Lets see what it is. Heres the thing, youre making it sound like you youre making it sound like there are two sides to this. There are two sides to this. Listen to dr. Fauci. Listen to dr. Fauci. Listen to dr. Fauci yesterday. I go along with the fda. The overwhelming, prevailing Clinical Trials that have looked at the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine have indicated that it is not effective in coronavirus disease. The overwhelming the let me ask you two questions, john. Yes. First of all, back in january when i said there was probably going to be a pandemic and dr. Fauci there wasnt, who was right . Dr. Fauci said theres probably not going to be a pandemic . Yeah. He said it back he was quoted twice on national tv as saying, no, theres no problem here. Low risk. He said if we dont take the actions not in january. Not in january. Peter, the point heres the other question. Hang on. Lets let me ask you this question. In in february when i said that we could maybe get a vaccine by the end of the year, and dr. Fauci was on abc news saying it would take a year, a year and a half to develop and another year and a half to manufacture, who looks like theyre going to be right on that . So peter, it sounds like youre saying the answer that question. It sounds like youre saying legitimate disagreements. Do you think youre more right on the pandemic . Globally, no. You said this on the show, it was ironic that the doctor of economics actually had the pandemic right, the doctor of medicine didnt. I never said that. Oh, i never said that. Oh, pull the clip. I never said that. All right. I bust you on that. I never said that. Look peter, its nonsense. Dial this down here. The issue is life and death, john. Lets get serious for a minute. Which is why, by the way which is why, by the way, we should listen to dr. Anthony fauci and not a doctor Stella Emanuel, Stella Emanuel, yes or no, yes or no . I have no knowledge of any of this. I just read to you what she said. Yes or no . Im not going to be your prop in this circus, okay. Heres whats really serious about this. Americans are dying. Now, if we have commissioner steve on, i have had this conversations off line with him. Hes acknowledged fully to me that the question of this drug under doctors supervision killing people has been settled. Its a drug that will not hurt you, okay . Have him on. Have him talk about it. The only question is whether theres any upside and i would maintain reading over 60 studies that the treatment for early use is overwhelming. So the question is if im wrong, nobody gets hurt. If im right, and you use it thousands of people thousands of americans lives why are you guys so why are you guys so hard core about wanting to knock this down . All i want to do is make sure people pregnant women take it when they go into malaria zones. The cdc said its fine. Thats not what the science and research have said. Youre wrong on that. Youre wrong. Im not, peter. Some studies show it can have adverse effects. Putting stuff in your body youre just wrong. Unless its proven to help is not a great thing. This is not water mellen. Youre a journalist and a economist. We shouldnt be having this conversation. What you just said as an economist you shouldnt be having this conversation. We should let the doctors settle but cnn and others have made a circus out of it. No. If im right, thousands of americans are dying because the media and the fda have made hydroxychloroquine something that appears to be dangerous when its a 65yearold drug that cant hurt you under doctor supervision. So, i mean, look, john, have the other people on. Have steve hawn on. Two more things here. Number one there was the more circus stuff . Look, its not circus stuff. Unless youre the ring master, unless youre the ring master or the tight rope walker you gave me the opportunity to to talk about kodak to the American People. Hang on. Ill give you two things and then vaccines. Number one what has the president said personally about the criticism of dr. Next question. Has he told you to not to talk about dr. Anthony fauci . Thats between me and the president. Is the china deal still happening . Its still happening. As a matter of fact, they bought the highest amount of corn ever in history from us last couple of weeks. But let me tell look, i want to talk directly to your viewers here and to you because theres things going on in this administration doing to save american lives and this vaccine development, its a very serious matter. I was with the president in Research Park on monday and the way to get to the vaccine in a half or a third of the usual time is going from first of all, the traditional model is sequencing. You find the vaccine, test it through three phases for safety and efficacy and only after that do you think about mass producing that. With the president s genius, were turning that paradigm on its head. Were simultaneously preparing for mass manufacturerining so w have five in a horse race so were ready in november if novavax or others to get it to the American People. Thats the kind of stuff im doing and i love coming on and talking with you, john, but the more you can leverage kind of what i know and what im doing to share with the American People, id appreciate that. Because i have a lot to share. Look, i know you do. I know you do. But you make it sound like for this president. You make it sound like you dont frequently weigh in on hydroxychloroquine. No, i was i was asking you about that. Im straight up on that. We have had this conversation before. Thats circus stuff. The circus the president of the United States is the one who praised her. Is he responsible for creating the circus . You keep beating this to death, okay . The serious underlying issue, john, this is a serious underlying issue, can hydroxychloroquine save lives and this discussion were having today really doesnt enlighten that. It politicizes it and the problem is that the media as soon as donald trump said this stuff is good politicized it. Im pleading with you, and the American People, to look at this drug again because i literally have tens of millions of tablets sitting in the Strategic National stockpile that if we were allowed under the doctors advice to get this stuff to people at the first sign of their symptoms i guarantee you it would cut the amount of time of the symptoms, reduce the duration of the symptoms and save lives. Peter its you keep saying this. You keep saying this. Look at the studies. I look at the studies. And we talked about the limitation. You cant point to the single study that i can read that shows to the contrary in terms of early treatment. You just cant. Well, thats not true. Thats not true. The nih study people got the treatment. They got some of the patients got the treatment early. Some of them got it early and the new england study that was a pure the new england journal of medicine study came out, the median time for them to get the medicine the first time they got it was seven days. Thats about five days too late. We dont need to go down this road anymore. Dr. Anthony fauci i have spoken to dr. Oneill at length. The doctor who wrote the report in the study says it doesnt disprove the other studies which have talked about the limitations. Been on your show . No, peter. Theyre better spokesman than i am. Why doesnt the president talk about them instead of Stella Emanuel . He mentioned them. As soon as you go there, this is a circus again. Im trying to have a serious discussion. But people people of cnn and you want the president wants circus. The president wants circus. The president wants circus. The president wants circus. Why not this week we demonstrated the use of the defense production act can get a vaccine to the American People in half or a third of the time. We did a beautiful job on tuesday with the greatest deal for American Pharmaceuticals in history and on thursday were going to have a great event on convalescent plasma which is another therapeutic which has potential use. What were trying to do, john, is save american lives and save this American Economy and again, i love coming on. This is like kind of like combat here in some ways. No. But to the extend you can allow me to provide useful information to the American People on how were testing or bringing the drugs on shore for production or a vaccine development, i assure you, john, i have so much information. And we talked about what is being done. We talked about the manufacturing deal. I just want to make sure just dont drag me into the circus. Peter well know more your problem is with me. Your problem isnt with me. But with the guy sitting behind you right now in that house. I love that guy. Hes the funniest guy, smartest guy i know and hes doing a great job. And we are let me ask you. No no. Peter, who tweeted out dr. Stella emanuel . Was it me or the president . Was it me or the president . Answer that. This is circus. Was it me or the president who praised her at the white house yesterday . Three ring circus with you. What i can simply do, john, is just talk about what this president is doing to try to save american lives and let me ask you one last question. The Chinese Communist party infected this nation with a deadly virus. No. How come it is that we as americans now are fighting amongst each other . This is what troubles me so much. Again, again, i would ask you you may want to pose that question to me. I invite you to pose it to the guy sitting behind you and i will say that this virus that is infecting the United States right now is chinese virus. We let you say that once, peter, please dont say it again on this show. China virus. All right, Peter Navarro, thank you for being with us. I know what youre trying to do there. There are Asian Americans who have told us they have been the source of we love the chinese people, john, theyre hard working. Theyre under the authoritarian government. Great to talk with you, john. Thank you very much. Congratulations. Congratulations on the kodak deal. It was a great win for america. Okay. Peter navarro, thanks very much. Why am i sweating . Joining us now is john harwood who is im sure is as well. Hi, john. So Peter Navarro said a lot of things there under johns excellent questioning. Peter said that President Trump is the smartest, funniest guy Peter Navarro knows and he doesnt like being part of any circus. What else did you hear . Alisyn, Peter Navarro is the circus. Another manifestation of this circus of an administration. Lets slow down for a second. Yesterday the president came into the Briefing Room and complained that people like Anthony Fauci, they dont like him. Peter navarro just demonstrated why that is as the president did yesterday. The United States is manifestly failing in the effort to control coronavirus, 4 million cases, 150,000 people dead. And what the president did with his tweets was advanced the views of a crack pot. Not someone who knows what shes talking about. Now, Peter Navarro was just amplifying those views again. Now if you talk to economists who serve president s of both parties they will tell you that Peter Navarro himself is a crack pot in his own field of economics. He has zero expertise in Public Health. Theres no valid argument between him and Anthony Fauci about the merits of hydroxychloroquine. Anthony fauci is the leading expert in the United States government. And so when you have the president performing in in way and aides performing in this way, it shows you why people dont believe the administration and why the administration is in such a deep hole politically while so Many Americans a thousand a day are dieing. Yeah. Look, i dont know how much we learned there, i have to be completely honest. You heard Peter Navarro, Peter Navarro believes in hydroxy nothing. We didnt learn nothing. Exactly. Navarro believes in hydroxychloroquine. The science right now, according to dr. Anthony fauci, the overwhelming evidence from the Clinical Trials are that it does not have a benefit. People need to know that that is what the countrys leading scientists are saying on that full stop. Period. Now, Peter Navarro Peter Navarro is not a Public Health expert. He doesnt know anything about what hes talking about. He can read. I can read too. I can read studies. But at the end of the day, what we have as a country to rely upon is the expertise of people who know this field and yet hes the person that the administration is putting out there to try to advance this view. Again, this is why the administration is failing and why the American People see the administration failing. Speaking of reading, i dont know if President Trump reads his daily brief. This came up in a new axios interview we have a clip of it, and in which the reporter Jonathan Swan asked the president whether or not he confronted Vladimir Putin about the bounties on american soldiers heads. Heres that exchange. We discussed numerous things. We didnt discuss it. You didnt discuss it with him . It didnt reach my desk because they didnt think intelligence didnt think it was real. They didnt think it was worthy of if it reached my desk i would have done something about it. It never reached my desk beca e because do you read every single brief . I do, i read a lot. They like to say i dont read, i read a lot. You read extraordinarily well. I mean, its well known in the Intelligence Community that theyre arming the taliban. Russia. When you say arming is the taliban russia is supplying to the taliban. I have heard that, but again its never reach mid desk. Yes, it did. Thats a revealing exchange. Very revealing exchange. Once again hes disinclined to believe the evidence about the taliban and russia and said it didnt reach his desk. Yes, it did. A couple of things about that. Mary trump said in her book recently, thats his niece, that hes a child trapped in a adult body. Her complaint that nobody likes me. Step back for a minute. We know that before donald trump was a political candidate russia was his financial russia and russians were his financial benefactors. We know from Robert Mueller that russia helped the president s campaign. We know that the president welcomed that help. We know that since donald trump became president he has consistently acted in ways that advanced the strategic objective of russia to weaken nato and the western alliance. Here we saw the president doing the same thing. He was more interested in that interview in criticizing general nicholson who had been a military commander with responsibility for afghanistan who had pointed out russian help for the taliban. He was more interested in criticizing him than in criticizing the russians so what you have is a president who is displaying actual indifference to the lives of the soldiers under his command. Any normally functioning president would confront the russian leader over these reports and they did reach his desk in the president ial daily brief. That indifference to the lives of the american soldiers with his conduct in directing the coronavirus where he is displaying indifference to the lives of american citizens in this pandemic, its profoundly disturbing. John harwood, thank you very much for all of your reporting. All right. Contentious hearings yesterday with the attorney general of the United States over his response to the Racial Justice protests. When protesters with guns and swastikas im aware of excuse me, mr. Barr. This is my time and i control it. That lawmaker joins us next. Democratic lawmakers clashing with attorney general bill barr in his first house judiciary hearing. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal drew a contrast between the black lives matter demonstrations and his response to armed white protesters in michigan earlier this year. Heres part of that combative exchange. Mr. Barr, on june 1, there were protests against the murder of george floyd and Police Brutality in Lafayette Park. Let us not be distracted by you or my gop colleagues as to what these powerful and massive protests were actually about. They were about the persistent killing of black bodies by Law Enforcement and finally, finally, an awakening in america of the conscience of our country. Do you think that well do you think its appropriate at Lafayette Park to pepper spray, tear gas and beat protesters and injure american citizens . Well, i dont accept your characterization of what happened, but as i explained the effort there was mr. Barr, i just asked for a yes or no, so let me just tell you im starting to lose my temper. According to sworn testimony before the House Natural Resources Committee by Army National guard officer adam demarco who was there, this was quote an unprovoked escalation and excessive use of force against peaceful protesters. You i dont remember demarco mr. Barr, excuse me. This is my time. Decision making. Sir, the president told governors on a telephone call that the way to deal with the protesters of Police Brutality and systemic racism like in Lafayette Square is that quote, you have to get much tougher. You have to dominate. If you dont dominate, youre wasting your time. These are terrorists. And he also talked about you on that call, sir. Heres what he said. He said the attorney general is here, bill barr, and we will activate bill barr and activate him strongly. But lets look at how you respond when the protesters are supporters of the president. On two separate occasions after President Trump tweeted liberate michigan to protect the Public Health of people in michigan protesters swarmed the michigan capitol carrying guns, some with swastikas, confederate flags and one even with a dark haired doll with a noose around its neck. Are you ware that these protesters called for the governor to be lynched, shot and beheaded . No. Youre not aware of that . I was not aware. Major protesters in michigan, youre the attorney general and you didnt know that the protesters called for the governor to be lynched, shot and beheaded . So obviously you couldnt be concerned about that. Well, there are a lot of protests around the United States and im worried about the district of columbia. In certain parts of the country, youre very aware of those, but when protesters with guns and swastikas i am aware of protesters in federal government this is my time and i control it. You take an aggressive approach to black lives matter protesters but not to right wing protesters for the president s bench fit, did i get it right . I have responsibility for the federal government and the white house is the seat of the branch, not mr. Barr the michigan authorities can handle the michigan authorities can handle not violate peoples First Amendment rights. Youre supposed to secure equal justice under the law not violently dismantle certain protesters based on the president s personal agenda. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal joins us now. Good morning, congresswoman. Good morning, alisyn. Lets talk first about the substance of what we learned yesterday and then we can get a little bit into the style. So attorney general barr said he didnt know the protesters in michigan called for the governor to be lynched. He didnt know that tear gas was used against the peaceful protests in Lafayette Square. He didnt know that President Trumps tweets existed about Michael Flynn and roger stone and so what does that tell us about the attorney general . The single thing that emerges time after time after time is that bill barr has always been, is now and will always be the henchman for donald trump. He acts as Donald Trumps personal attorney to get things done. Donald trump activates him when he needs something done and bill barr jumps. He is not the attorney general for the people of the United States. And what hes doing is using the Justice Department, the enormous powers of the Justice Department on every level, whether it is going back to, you know, withholding information from the Mueller Report and mischaracterizing it or whether it is in terms of the way he responds to certain protests. He is responding completely without regard to equal justice under the law. Thats really clear over and over again. He says that hes not aware of these things, but, you know, hes under oath. I cannot imagine that he was not aware of the protests in michigan and the fact that the governor of michigan had people with you know, guns and swastikas and confederate flags saying that they wanted to behead her. That makes no sense whatsoever. So i think he tells untruths. The contradiction that he brings up, about being armed and went into the State Capitol versus the black lives matter protests hes only in charge of federal buildings. So hes protecting the federal courthouse in portland, oregon. You know, he cant protect the state house in michigan. Is that legitimate . No. I have looked very closely at what theyre doing in portland, its right next to seattle of course. I have a sister whos a county commissioner there and whats clear is they are not just protecting the federal courthouse. They are blocks away from the federal courthouse, picking up people in unmarked vans. I mean, serious constitutional violations that the federal agents are engaged in. And the other thing, you know, that i mean, had i had all day to question bill barr i would have enjoyed it because the other thing is that it has never been the case that federal officials well, i shouldnt say never, but rarely is the case that federal officials are sent in to a state without the governors consent, without the mayors consent, with no coordination whatsoever. He is trying to have it both ways. Hes trying to say, look, we have a responsibility to protect federal property and then he goes far beyond that mission. Secondly, you know, for somebody who has been in a party of states rights, states dont seem to have very many rights unless donald trump wants them to. Bill barr isnt in alabama and georgia and florida and making sure those governors are forcing people to wear masks and not reopen too quickly. Those are causing far more deaths to american lives through the spread of covid19 than, you know, some protester at some building in portland, oregon. Theres a huge discrepancy in bill barr applies the law. You brought up the format of the style of the hearings. The ranking republican, jim jordan, said that you were basically not allowing the attorney general to speak. The democrats dont want attorney general bill barr to speak, they dont want the members of the Judiciary Committee to speak. Theyll come for you next. Number one, what is your response to that and number two, do you think that that format did it shed much light for the viewers and the voters . Well, you know, the thing about the five minute format is every witness knows that the way to get away from answering questions is to just be very slow in your answers, to thank the Congress Members for that excellent question, not to answer to obfuscate because you have only five minutes so that means every member of congress, republicans and democrats, when republicans controlled the committee, believe me, i watched time and time again them do that over and over again. And they do it to democratic witnesses now to majority witnesses now, where you have to take control of your time. Because if you dont, the witness will do it. And so, yes, i think its you know, its part of the way the format works but its also when a witness is trying to do that, i think its an opportunity to make the point that the witness doesnt want to answer the question, which, you know i think that was clear with bill barr when he says im not aware of it. I dont know that. You know, no, that didnt happen. A semantic discussion about what is tear gas, what isnt tear gas. You have to control the time. They dont expect it often and there are different ways that members do it. But its very important with a hostile witness who clearly knows what the rules are himself and is a skilled attorney. Yeah. Congresswoman jayapal, we have more questions about whats coming up later on today. Can you stick around through the break . I can. Yes. New day will be right back. Usaa insurance payments over the next twelve months so they can keep more cash in your pockets for when it matters most find out more at usaa. We need a president who will level with the American People, a president who will tell us the unvarnished truth, a president who will take responsibility instead of always blaming others, a president who will listen to the experts, follow the science, allow them to speak, a president who will lead and be an example for the nation. We have to do all we can to keep our fellow americans safe and healthy. Im joe biden and i approve this message. But what if you could startdo better than that . Like adapt. Discover. Deliver. And now, were committed to helping you do just that with a powerful and reliable internet and voice solution at a great price. Call or go online today. The ceos of amazon, apple, facebook and google will testify this afternoon virtually before the house Judiciary Committees antitrust panel. So back with us is Democratic Congress Pramila Jayapal. This is a big deal, the biggest name in tech are coming before your committee. Theyre called the four horsemen of the techopocolyps. Im sure youre waiting eagerly to talk to some of them and against the back drop of yesterday where twitter had to delete don jr. , the son of the president s account for a while or freeze it, whatever you call it, because he was tweeting out such bonus misinformation and had to delete President Trumps tweet about that doctor that was given bogus information about how alien dna is being used in our medicine and how womens ovarian cysts are caused by sex with demons while theyre sleeping. I mean, i could go on, the list of the things she said. So where do you begin with questioning some of these people . Well, im sure you never thought youd be saying words like that in a newsroom. I was not prepared for that. You know, this is the antitrust subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee and so, you know, the questioning from our side anyway will be quite limited to antitrust and monopoly related issues and how a platform uses its power when its a dominant platform in terms of speech, in terms of, you know, ad revenues. In terms of how it suppresses newspapers, independent newspapers, from operating. And how people get their news. How do they get Accurate Information and not the kind of stuff that you were mentioning. That is certainly relevant as it relates to power and dominance and monopoly power. But theres also a whole series of issues in behaviors that the four behemoths engage in that stifle competition and innovation and hurt consumers. So a lot of the focus is around those issues as well. Copy, acquire, kill, when it comes to the competitors. This is the end of a oneyear investigation. A major sweeping investigation that our subcommittee has taken, briefings, interviews. So the last piece is these tech ceos and then out of this we will have recommendations and legislation that hopefully within the next year will pass. Because we are far behind the European Commission in terms of regulating these tech platforms. Thats what were trying to get at. So very quickly, you think youll overhaul the antitrust laws on some level . I think that there will be significant changes, yes. And this is bipartisan i should say. Whether or not all the republicans focus on the areas of bipartisanship or whether they take it in a different direction i cant say. But i know that ken buck the Ranking Member and chairman cicilline have worked together on this. I hope we can keep it bipartisan because we do need to overhaul completely our regulation. We cant leave it to these companies to selfpolice. Thats not going to happen. And we need to protect consumers and we need to protect mom and pop businesses and, you know, choice essentially for consumers across the country. Frankly across the world because these platforms are global. While we have you, i wanted to ask you about the axios interview this morning. Jonathan swan confronted President Trump about whether or not he confronted putin about the bounty on american troops heads and President Trump said no, he did not confront Vladimir Putin because that information never reached his desk he said. Jonathan swan pointed out it was in his Daily Briefing book, but President Trump said it never reached his desk. Whats your response to that . Well, we know two things. Number one, that donald trump doesnt read briefing books thats been reported over and over again. Secondly, we also know that donald trump has done everything he can to undermine our intelligence services. And he has done that consistently going back to, you know, when he first became president. Thats what hes doing again. He has a cozy relationship with russia. He has not allowed sanctions to take place when when theyre bipartisan and passed by both chambers. He has continued to cozy up to Vladimir Putin and its inconceivable to me he didnt know this. He made a decision to do nothing about american soldiers who had bounties on their head from russian because his personal interests with his trump businesses, whatever other things that Vladimir Putin may have holding over the president s head is to keep Vladimir Putin happy. Thats all he cares about. Thats all hes ever cared about and thats come at the cost of the american lives. Thank you, from alien dna and beyond, we really appreciate your perspective on all of this.
