All those aspects of fitness are so important. We will spend this year about 20,000 per american citizen. Only about 15 of which will be for the primary responsibility of the federal government. Back in january, when this new congress formed, there was an agreement to go back to precovid level spending for nondefensive discretionary spending. Thats with the country gave us the majority to do, to reverse the horrible policies of the biden agenda. It was a significant step toward responsibility. It had a lot of good opponents to it. Then we passed the responsibility act. We failed the American People. It kept in place all the biden spending. Everyone who voted for that bill owned the biden agenda. It was said by leadership that we would use the appropriations process. We would go back to precovid level spending and we are con republicans to do that. There are some republicans in the house who dont want to cut spending. Many republicans in the senate want to increase spending. We are committed to using every tool to going back to the precovid level spending for defense. My colleagues behind us are united in doing that. The appropriations bill should represent republican priorities and reversing the biden a ministration and take a step toward fiscal responsibility. Times i am proud to stand here with our friends from Freedom Works. He will introduce the next speaker. Thank you. Im the president of Freedom Works. We are bringing in actavis from swing districts. The reason we are trying to bring people in is this is a big issue that is not just a conservative issue. We are heading to 50 trillion in debt. 30 trillion, we may look back on this as the salad days. We are not even talking about entitlements yet. The first steps in getting spending under control, the greatest threat wasnt russia or china, it was our deficit. We are proud are activists will visit with their congressman. What these people are asking for is very reasonable. We intend as an organization to be involved in this wave of the fight. This fight is years to come. We are running out of room. This is a wakeup call. We will pay more in interest and we do. I will turn it over to congressman norman. What a privilege to be here. I want to thank Freedom Works in all the patriots we met with last night. I want to tell you, this is a fight. Economic security is National Security. I am tired of hearing itll be next year. As adam said, we are approaching 50 trillion in debt. It its going to be more so as time goes on. I would say when you add social security, medicare, it is greater then the 32 weve been talking about. We are trying to give the taxpayers backed money. We are trying to redirect funds. There is no reason that we will be having spending. We stopped that. Weve got to stop that. There is no reason in the world we should put money in the fbi pilled. If we dont do it now, im just excited to address it now. We have got 16 days left to get the appropriations bill out. We are out in august. Hopefully we will address it. We want the 22 levels. Its time to present a budget that is trimming the fat and goes to programs it will defend and protect the country. We should be spending money for ships and planes, not for transgender surgeries. Not for the woke programs of diversity and inclusion. It should not be a social experiment. We are in the next 16 days, we examine all the 12 appropriation bills. We will let the people decide. The problem with washington, d. C. , every dollar spent. We need an advocate for the american taxpayer. Its my pleasure to introduce mike rosendale. Thank you for coming out today. What we are going to watch is the house of representatives going to keep their word . When we passed the act earlier this year, we made a commitment to the people that we would reduce spending. We were going to freeze the spending levels. We are going to lose the woke spending programs. Thats what the American People sent us forward to do. The only way we are going to make sure we do that is if we see all 12 of these appropriation bills totaled up. Leadership believes they are going to be able to trickle these out to what a time. Thats not going to be feasible. We will never see with the total spending is until the very end. We will not push spending beyond nondefense discretionary. If we have one piece of legislation left, thats not going to be acceptable. We want to see all 12 bills. We want leadership to upend their. The members that voted to curb spending it, to rein in spending, to get the job done. This is irresponsible. It was irresponsible what theyve been doing for the last two decades. They have gutted our military and they wonder why recruitment numbers are down across the board. Because the brave young men and women that have the desire to defend our country are concerned about the people that are running the enterprise. What you will see is who is going to stand up for the advocates, for the regular people. Thats what you will see over the next couple of weeks. I would like to introduce representative self. Its finally getting warm enough that we can hold a press conference today. Im proud to stand with the members hi me. They are all members of the 20. We said we were going to change the culture of congress. What you are going to say is these cuts are conine. We are talking about less than 2 of all spending. You are going to hear that we have made decisions to get down to the number you heard. Those are going to be added back later. That should not happen. That was the agreement in january. I am proud to introduce my friend, andy. Good morning or afternoon. I will be brief. It is hot out here. I want to thank Freedom Works for taking a stand for less spending. When i think about the 32 trillion worth of debt. I like in our economy to the titanic. We are on a course with a collision ahead. Its a big ship the turns slowly. If we course correct today, we can avoid the disaster that lies ahead. The current path we are on is unsustainable. We owe it to the American People to make cuts. Like the titanic, this will end in catastrophe. Thank you. Hello, everyone. Thank you to these folks from Freedom Works who are out here and work on behalf of the American People. I encourage all similar groups to get involved. Let your voices be heard. I want to thank my colleagues from the Freedom Caucus who were with us. I want to thank some of the members of the media. I thank all of you for being out here. It is warm and humid. I come from arizona. Lets talk about what this means. Even if you move to the 2022 levels of spending, that 1. 8 trillion in spending will be borrowed, every penny of that will be borrowed. You are looking at 32 trillion today. One year from now, will be 34 trillion. That is what you were looking at. The national debt. It is a threat to our National Security for many reasons. I encourage my colleagues to join me. I call upon the speaker to bring my bill to the floor. 1. 8 trillion, thats why i have encouraged us to go back to 2019 levels across the board. Wouldnt it be nice if are just three months we didnt spend more than we brought in every month. On average, we spend 125 billion dollars more than we bring in and revenue. Thats when we have record revenue. Its not a revenue problem, its a spending problem. The only way we get it under control is to have the courage to say in 2019, nobody was saying we are underfunded. Why not get back to those levels . I thank you for being here. We are sounding the warning call. We are reminding our leadership, you need the votes. Listen to us. Do not take us on a further spending path and tell us dont tell us its raining when its not. Lets be honest. Lets allow participation. Thanks for being here. Lets take a few questions. With the house and session just a few more days, are you concerned this could lead to a Government Shutdown . Do you believe it will have any chance . Let me answer that. I dont believe youre looking at a Government Shutdown. You will see some aspect come out. Im not worried about a Government Shutdown. They will try to run out to december. Thats my own perspective. We should not fear a Government Shutdown. Most of what we do is bad anyway. When we do stuff to the American People, essential operations continue. Our speaker has an opportunity to be a historical speaker that stared down the democrats, that stared down the president and said no. We are going to do with the people elected us to do. We are going to pass a good bill out of the house and force the senate to accept it. What would happen if republicans stared down the democrats and refused to cave. We dont fear the Government Shutdown. [inaudible] you will have to ask them that. We are united in the belief that we have to see what the entire cost is. You will be left with a very small piece of that pie that we may have to take a lot of the spending that. The most reasonable and smartest way to handle it is to look at all 12 bills together. We will make sure that we are at that point. We havent been denied that yet. Thats what we are going to see play out over the next week whether we will get this together. [inaudible] would we support the egg bills coming to the floor . We havent seen whats in there. I dont think theyve been drafted yet. We note need to know whats in there. [inaudible] who do i wont speak for anybody else. I wont it into that. The evidence weve adduced in the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee with regard to the crime syndicate. I dont know what else you can call it. That would be a very interesting and necessary step. Before we talk about impeachment , we should have an at speech meant inquiry and get more teeth into our investigations and expand and broaden those investigations to bring more witnesses. The evidence ive seen is overwhelming. It would lead one to believe that our president is corrupted and compromised. Its all of the above. Look at the evidence. The president is the head of the free world. What it looks like this guy has done, the money he has accepted, what his son is involved with. Let the evidence lead us there. People ask me, where are the consequences. There has got to be consequences. I realize the replacement is probably wriggling somewhere now. Shes not an alternative. It starts with the head of the country. Last question. [inaudible] i would not support that personally. No. They promised us 12 bills. They are going to try to push through to this week. We havent seen the language. They promised us 72 hours. They need to deliver that. The reality is my biggest concern is they are going to cram through a cr and you are in for a world of hurt. There will be a lot of pressure to do something. Lets not forget, Chuck Schumer and Mitch Mcconnell are comfortable with doing omnibus bills late in the year. We will see. Thank you all for being here. Congress returns later today. The house gavels and at noon to consider several bills, including sanctions on chinese producers of synthetic opioids. Later, members will work on the first spending bills. Funding the agriculture department, the fda for next year. Current governntunding expires september 3 the senate gavels inat today at 3 00. Senators will work t annual defense programs and policy bills with votes on more amdments scheduled for 5 30 p. M. A final vote is expected by the d the week. Watch live coverage on cspan.
