Flames race across californias mountains expanding rapidly and threatening more than 4,000 homes. Weve had fires but nothing like this. Not at all. This is real scary for everybody. Lived here for 30 years. Paid for everything in the world i own was gone. Firefighters across california say this fire season is shaping up to be one of the deadliest in their history. The fire behavior were seeing now wed typically see in august or september. Drought sizzling temperatures and high winds are creating extreme conditions across the entire west. Those same conditions led to the inferno two and a half weeks ago in arizona which killed 19 hotshots. That fire was moving as a record speed of 15 Miles Per Hour, 13 Miles Per Hour faster than average. Cenk you know when its going 13 miles an hour faster on average and only going 15 miles, theres some chance to Climate Change has gotten out of hand. The people that would know best is the insurance industry, because theyre the ones that have to pay for it, right . Its interesting, we had one of the biggest insurances, swiss reed their c. E. O. Went in front of congress and had this to say. He said what keeps us up at night is claims change. We see the long term effect of Climate Change on society and it really frightens us. These are the guys going in front of congress saying youve got to do something. Superstorm sandy was the second most expensive storm in u. S. History. Were going to go out of business and this is going to be unsustainable. They should know. They pay the damages. All right lets bring in our panel here in the studio, ana kasparian, host of the point host of the the young turks, Jayar Jackson decade long producer of the young turks. Damn, speaking of damn noah roth man, also legendary reporter of media. Everybodys a legend today and of course joe williamson. White house reporter for Politico Deputy chief boston globe and fellow at harvard university. To which i say damn, damn, damn. Youre hotter than Climate Change. All right so lets get started. Noah, go ahead tell me this isnt Climate Change, its just one wildfire, you cant make a judgment. Noah is our resident conservative. Go. Its not not Climate Change, its just not all Climate Change. Right after the arizona fire killed a whole lot of firefighters, a horrible he vehement, the Washington Post investigated climates impact on fires and printed and addendum a couple days later and said its not the single most important factor the most important factor is a century and a half of horrific forest management. They dont let the small fires burn. You have a lot of tightly undergrowth tightly pack which lets it burn and things are getting worse when it comes to forest fires out west. Cenk a lot of times conservatives dont believe the scientists. 75 of the scientists saying its a global conspiracy. Oftentimes, they dont believe the government, but they should believe businessman. The head of the reassurance association of america saying the industry is at great financial per i peril if it doesnt understand global and regional climate impact, variability in assisting scientific assessment of a changing climate. When youre saying this stuff to the u. S. Government, obviously a lot of politicians on the hill are republicans who dont want to hear that this and theyre telling them anyway, saying you dont get it, we deal with it every single day. Isnt that fairly persuasive . I would say so. Youre not talking about people who are functioning on idealogy here, you are talking about people dealing with dollars and cents, people who pay out write checks to different governments to people for that catastrophes that they believe are preventable. For decades weve talked about al gore warned if we did not do something immediately, the weather events, it wouldnt be that we would have 80degree winters, although that is happening now. Disastrous events would be more severe and intense. I suppose you could make a case for forest treatment management, but looking at it long term, forestry mismanagement is because weve been cutting back everywhere. People have had to do more with less. Part of the reason theyre having a hard time getting a handle on these fires is the fact they dont have enough moan to pay firefighters to prevent and manage these fires. This is more evidence for people talking against the key stone pipeline and how senators from Oil Rich States know they have to face this sort of a situation. What do you tell your voters, what do you do in coal states. Cenk of course weve got oil in texas. On the other hand, we now have tremendous wildfires year issue and year out in texas. Which we do you go . Ana, that goes to my point on the polls changing, people are starting to believe Climate Change more. Guys saying i lived 30 years here ive never seen anything like this. I was down in new orleans cab driver, clearly a republican, right, bristled at even the mention of the name al gore, but he said ive never seen heat like this, so im beginning to wonder. Absolutely. You see it everywhere. You see it in the winter time. In los angeles were used to hot winters, but youre seeing it in other states where they usually have typical winters with snow and everything. Of course, you captain judge based on one particular wildfire, one particular event but if you look at the trend you notice that our climate is warming. Theres no question about that, and instead of having this ridiculous debate as to whether or not its man made, we already have evidence indicating that it is man made. Now we need to do something to change our behavior, and the question is are we going to do that how are we going to convince countries like china to do something because china has contributed significantly to Climate Change. Some scientists have given up, yes, its here, no ones changing their behavior, therefore we need to mitigate Climate Change. Cenk theyre trying to find ways to get people to Pay Attention to whats happening right underneath their nose. Business guys, the insurance guys are saying its happening and its killing us. Now defense department, chan yell scu is the assistant secretary of defense said Climate Change prevents challenges that are not the traditional state variety but will generate greater need for humanitarian and Disaster Relief aid, so its a department of defense guy saying help, help. Climate change doesnt just impact our weather and our wildfires and hurricanes and all of that. It has a huge impact on food and water. Pretty soon, were going to have a Global Crisis where we dont have enough food and water for everyone thats on the planet. As a result, theres going to be a huge issue of fighting for resources. Maybe its a Glass Half Full scenario. You can see the moneys changes at least people speaking about the money, these companies. We know our polling additions are controlled by money. If enough of them have a reason to fight against this and say were losing money or will because this is killing us, were going out of business, that is a factor. Usually the two things that get people changing, at least americans to change marry minds is the money factor and fear. Its how we were talked into war, and finding a particular boogie man. The problem is this is invisible. We cant put a face and say lets shoot to boogie man in the head and put trillions of dollars into the boogie man. We killed bin laden and put him in the bottom of the ocean thats a nice, clean way of saying we got him. If you put Climate Change in the bottom of the ocean, it only makes it worse. Sea levels rise. I would submit that there probably is a human face, and thats 19 guys who lost their lives in a very fastmoving unpredictable fire. When i saw that happen, my comment was Climate Change just got real. We have a major logs of life, a major loss of life event trying to fight a fire that by all accounts and by most accounts certainly has been if not started, essential accelerated by the fact of what weve been doing to the planette. I suspect that should have been a rallying cry to do something. We have human loss of life here. Every other situation where weve had about this many people die in one single tragedy theres been a call to arms. So far nothing yet. Cenk all right. I think by the end of this blog, noah agrees claims change is man made and we need to do something immediately, and it needs to be addressed by the government. When we come back, obamacare. How many times have the republicans passed bills killing obamacare in the house . They never make it past the senate, but how many times did they do it in the house . Its an awesome number. Well tell you when we come back. Cenk all right, back on the young turks. Were going to go to the panel and talk about obamacare. Kasper, go. The House Republicans have attempted again to repeal the Affordable Care act. How many times have they done this at this point cenk . Cenk i love this number. 41 times. Think about how stupid that is. Its like when they water boarded 182 times. Probably not going to work 183rd time. The democrats control the senate and the president is a democratic and its called obamacare, after him. Hes not going to let you kill it. They just like to waste time and money. They figure if we waste the time great then were doing nothing, otherwise. Really important part of the Affordable Care act is now activated activated the right word . Cenk it will now be activated. Health care is active there are certain provisions of the afford automobile care act that will go into affect. Obama and jay carney addressed that. Today because of the Affordable Care act Insurance Companies have to spend at least 80 of every dollar that you pay in premiums on your health care. Not on overhead, not on profits but on you. If theyre not spending your premium dollars on your health care, at least 80 of it, theyve got to give you some money back. In 2012, 13 million rebates went out in all 50 states. This summer, 8. 5 Million Consumers are receiving half a billion dollars in rebates. That sounds pretty good to me. Cenk yeah. So its beginning to work, except im going to skip down here to the polls and give noah fodder here. Obamacare approval back in july of 2012 was thats later thats supposed to be the big reveal. July 2012, 44 bad idea, 40 good idea. Nearly a year later oops, 49 bad idea, 37 good idea. Joe, whats your theory on this . It seems to be working penaltys right you got 13 million rebates going out yet the popularitys going down. The first thing that comes to mine who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes. Youve got a situation where the proof is in the pudding. It is lining up that this is going to be a success. But when you have a party whose singularity dedicated to repealing this and the population doesnt understand how it works thats why the numbers are going down. I think once things do kick in and this is what obama and his team were banking on, once it starts to kick in and engage and people see real results beyond just being able to keep your adult child on your health care plan, beyond getting free check ups every year, beyond getting premium rebates thats when people are going to start seeing the effects when they start getting money back, premiums go down and it actually affects your life rather than some mysterious theory that youre hearing about on one sided and vague nebulous stuff on the other. Cenk were hearing wait until it goes into effect, things will get much better and it will pick up in popularity. But the reality is, its beginning to go into effect and the popularity has gone in the reverse. Im sure noahs champing at the bit to say i told you, but at the same time, noah, they are right, 13 Million People did get rebates. Is that a bad thing . That cant be a bad thing. In new york, it looks like individuals are going to pay 50 less, thats a good thing right . We are talking about tinkering around the edge here. Youre talking about two minor elements now touted as huge successes, the huge pillar of this law the employer mandate checking to see individuals background, whether they qualify for subs sides insurance the individual mandate be crumbling. The white house tried to wait on the mandate now the house with 22 departments delaying the implementation of the individual mandate, these keep the law afloat. It will not survive in 2015 unless these things are implemented along with them and they have to be implemented fast. It just wont survive. Its too expensive. We are talking about a huge political head wind for democrats. Now you have a letter from the teamsters president james hoffa who used twice the word destroy to what this is going to do to the middle class the americans. This is the Democratic Base that supported this law to begin with. Youre having a significant back lash. If this is a law thats working id hate to see a law that doesnt. Cenk joe let me ask you to address the hoffa thing. What do you think is happening with the unions . Well, i think part of it is because of jobs. I also think another part is there hasnt been a whole lot of earnest communication from the white house. This thing theyre hearing from their employers that this could threaten that balance that could result in lower wages for employees, that it could be a total problem. I submit that a larger problem is to do nothing and let this thing go unchecked and premiums spiral out of control and the fact that a single cats photographic incident could bankrupt an entire family. That is one of the main reasons this has gotten into effect and why president obama decided it was going high up on the priority, because it has a longer term effect to do nothing than it does to do something that may be unpopular in the interim but by and large may actually work out. Cenk i think president obama delaying the mandate for businesses was a terrible idea. I agree. Cenk i think that it led the republicans to say hey why are you doing it for corporations, not for the little guy the individuals, which is a fair point and it delays the implementation, which mucks things up. I agree. I unfortunately agree with noah. Cenk i love the beginning of that sentence. I unfortunately agree with noah. I do when it comes to certain elements. Some of the larger elements. What youre seeing now within businesses is they are refusing to hire full time employees because they do not want to insure them, so theyre hiring a bunch of part time employees which is hurting americans. At the same time one have Companies Like c. V. W. Demanding employees let them know their weight and b. M. I. To charge them a little extra for Health Insurance so they dont have to foot the bill. If the employees decide i dont want to share my weight, the company is planning on charging them 600 a year. Those kind of things really get under my skin. Cenk jayar we talked about this for years between 2009, you know, when he starts his presidency all the way through 2010 when it passes, and i was really torn on the bill. I, you know, i was really 5050 on it, and here we are and its 5050. In narc for the individual insurance, its gone down on average from 1,000 to around a little under 400, which is great right . So theres great provisions. Some of us are getting rebates back. I didnt have to do a co pay. But at the same time its a mess on the business end. It looks like its going to be an even bigger mess, so is the jury still out . Whats your sense. The jurys still out because he continues to give on things like that. The reason we were split about the bill in the beginning when it was going to get passed, because there continued to be concessions. By the time it was passed, there were things given in on that it that made it weak, there were so many ways it could be destroyed and holes punched into it. The next frustrating part as you said when you delay the corporations are the businesss mandate for north korea their employees, it gives them another angle. Theres always been openingings. If you make some ironclad, go after it, it ends up being a weak bill. No half measures. Cenk im not convinced that the business side, theyre always doom and gloom youre going to lose every job in america right . Even if you believe them to some degree relationship the bandaid off, because its necessary as part of the rest of the package as noah pointed out. You got to do it now. The longer you wait, the harder to relationship the bandaid off if its actually a sore, which im not sure i believe. Getting money back from your insurance, there is a vast amount of people that dont have insurance, and are not getting any money back because they didnt have insurance in the first place. Everyone agrees that to do nothing would just be a larger catastrophe. I submit that you guys are absolutely right in that giving ground probably didnt do this bill any favors, but whats the option . Whats the alternative here . I mean there was talk about the individual mandate there was talk about a single pair. None of that was politically feasible and to do nothing was irresponsible, you have a problem that is growing. Youre trying address. I almost think joe that argument carried the day in 2012. I almost think that argument is losing its potency now. Were beginning to see that the implementation of that law may be so bad that doing nothing may in fact be preferable. The republicans may not have to run on the alternative. Honestly, as a political maneuver, i think the republicans may be able to get away with well, what is your alternative plan and they dont necessarily have to answer. That didnt fly in 2012. It may in 2014. They dont have tabs because the people voting republican in this in to answer tend to believe what the republicans have been saying about the bill at large that its got death panels, that its going to remove your choice of a physician. Those kind of arguments tend to sell with republicans anyway. Im not sure they would move moderates all that much to say we are going to shrug our shoulders and say we have no alternative recognizing the fact that a single medical catastrophe can bankrupt a family thats been proven again and again and has become real in many peoples lives and the lives of people who dont have any insurance. Its a system that continues to. Cenk im pretty much out of time, you said doing nothing at all was not sustainable. Of course i agree with that. Thats why i thought it is wildly jim perfect but ok, right . But were not at that stage anymore. President obama didnt have to delay the business side. My opinion is he delayed the business side because he always does whatever the corporations tell him to do. That was a terrible mistake and that doesnt go back to the original document. Second of all i think there could have been something you say its not politically feasible, but medicare is actually incredibly popular america. If you had made medicare for all, that would have been a super conversation you might have actually gotten the American People behind. Where are you going to get folks in congress to vote for that. You have moderate democrats voting against some of these bills. Remember ben nelson . You have a lot of political realities flying in the face of things that would letting malty solve these problems. Cenk unfortunately joes right in that the political reality is money and politics. You could have had 98 medicare for all. Theres no way ben nelson the conservative democrats and republicanses would ever allowed it. When we come back, Trayvon Martins family is speaking out. They said something very interesting that i want to share with you. And were going to have a guest on. Shes a black woman who left this country. She lived here and left and said i dont think this is a place for black people. Its really interesting. Shes going to skype in from trinidad. Well talk about why she left when we come back. Cenk were back on the young turks. Anas got a story about Trayvon Martins parents, they were on the morning shows this morning. Trayvon martins family has broken their silence since the verdict was read in the George Zimmerman case and spoke on g. M. A. My first thought was shock disgust. I really didnt believe that he was not guilty. We feel that the verdict we didnt feel it was fair, and of course, it was devastating. They didnt know him as a human being, a very decent human being, very funloving kid. Of course its totally understandable that they would feel that way. We here at the young turks were pretty stunned that he wasnt even convicted of manslaughter but benjamin crump, the family attorney spoke to g. M. A. About what could possibly happen in the future. The department of justice to look at this matter, because trayvon was simply walking home and his killer profiled him and followed him so we need to know what is the law. Is it a law that anybody can profile and follow you not even the police, based on the u. S. Supreme Court Decision can profile based going to allow private citizens with guns to do so . We need to know, because we need to know what to tell our children. Not just about the Trayvon Martin case. Now its about your kids, its about other kids. Cenk all right, back to me . All right. So, first of all on cbs this morning, i thought trayvons mom said something really important talking about how some people assumed that trayvon had at some point was going to get burglary tools. What a ridiculous thing. He didnt have burglary tools. He had skittles and an iced tea. The fact that they didnt consider race at all when clearly they had racial assumptions here. They have a white kid and a black kid dress up in the same outfit, one blue shirt, one red shirt, even contacted the baseball cap the same exact way. They go to saw away a bike thats chained up. When the white kids doing it, some ask hey, what are you doing there, is that your bike. He says no, not technically. Me move on, no one calls the police. Black kid starts doing it dressed the same way theres a man around him within two minutes. What are you doing, is that your bike. No not technically theyre like call the cops. A huge crowd swarms around him in two minutes. Its one of the best things ive seen. One last fun touch to that, they had an attractive young blonde woman do the exact same thing two guys literally helped her steal the bike. Ok . It was an older guy and a guy whos married with his wife, shoed his wife away and helped her cut the chain. I wonder if there are racial assumptions in this country. That blinks us to our guest. She used to live in the United States of america with, now in trip da. Tinnanie joins us on skype. Nice to have you here. Hi. You wrote an interesting article about how you left the country because you couldnt take racial relations anymore. Thats an amazing thing to say. Give me the background. Well, the background is a very long story and i hope that everybody goes to check out my story, but to give you guys a short summary of it, my family moved from trinidad to america when i was about four years old and at the time, my mom was working as a nanny just trying to make ends meet, and eventually worked her way into the Nursing School and became a nurse later down the road. Before that, we in order to survive, we had to travel from country to country to country to look for a decent school, a decent environment to live in where it wasnt ridiculously expensive. The thing is a lot of people dont understand that finding an education in america means you to have live in a neighborhood that actually is very expensive. Its not something that everybody has the opportunity for and we learned that through our traversing of basically north to south from new york, new jersey to texas and everywhere in between, we had to learn that lesson. Cenk so what was your experience . Its so different everywhere you go, because its quite an interesting experience. Depending where i lived i also lived in different family graphics, as well. For example in florida, i lived in a neighborhood that my mom chose the specific neighborhood because it was zoned for a very, very expensive excludive school that was still a public school. In doing so, it gave us the opportunity to attend that school. However, a year later, it comes down that they would be zoning the school and the exact street we live on is no longer zoned for that and theres no surprise why. Families like myself were living there, single parent, minorities people of color were living in that neighborhood and basically just came by being able to attend a decent school. Its no, chopping block get out of here, basically kicked us out, no exaggeration. Cenk i remember a story we did on the young turks a little while back where a mom went to a nicer area, i think where her sister lived to make sure her children got a better education. They said technically youre not living there. They arrested her and put her in jail. You know, its just heartbreaking, because america was supposed to be about a land of opportunity. Obviously, you didnt get that sense, tinnanie. In the end after all these experiences, did you basically give up on america. Give up is a harsh harsh material. Give up implies that theres absolutely no hope. At the end of the day i have family in america, friends in america, many loved ones in america and i hope for god for their own sake that there is progress, that there is movement forward. Its just at this particular point in my life, im taking a stand that thats not something has to be done or be ready to face the fact that people will not want to live in your country. Cenk so, how big a part of you moving back to trinidad was the fact that you were tired of what you perceived to be the racial bias in this country . The racial bias is just a small part of a huge system of owepression and not just of colored people, but of its a class issue its a gender issue. It goes across the board. What i experienced as a colored person that i wrote about is just a very small but significant portion of what made me make the decision to leave. Cenk but you get the sense that trinidad is better on those issues obviously racial is completely different in trinidad, but gender, class, et cetera . Oh, this is the huge, huge, huge topic that i definitely wanted to support. In terms of my decision to relocate to my country, that is not on the base of this country being better than another. This is where people have a very closed minded concept of what is good for one person as opposed to another. We are living in a global world. People should be able to explore our global world. This is a huge machine net. At the end of the day we need people in every part of this planet make sure the planet progresses forward and thats my take on that. Cenk when you saw the Trayvon Martin case, what was your gut reaction to the verdict and how all of this went down . My family had been talking about the Trayvon Martin case since day one and i kept on being optimistic especially with my sister saying nicky its going to work out. Theyre going to find him guilty. She kept saying tinnanie, youre living on a cloud. I said no, i swear i know it. Shes like youre living on a tinnanie. Nonetheless, as soon as that verdict came down, its like there it is, there you have it. Im speechless. Theres nothing i can say anymore, because i cant even find it in my heart to be optimistic anymore. Cenk tiffany you wrote about how other blacks in america treated you and how at times that was an issue, as well. Tell us about that. You see when you create a hostile environment inevitably, you produce hostilenatured people, and everyone at the end of the day is trying to survive and that goes across the board whether its the guy with the white color job stealing from the entire population, the guy at the bottom who shoots somebody for a necklace. Once you create this competitive, abusive everyones for themselves, get as much as you can and then on top of that, you have zero access to resources, youre going to create a hostile environment and with that said, ive experienced these environments and i hope to god that somebody somewhere is looking and thinking we need to give these people more resources. We need to give more access to health care, we need to give more access to education so we can move forward as a people. Cenk thanks so much for joining us all the way from trinidad. We appreciate it and hope you come back someday. Shotgun for having me. Cenk when we come back, the sythe lord is gone, dick cheney is retired. Here comes sythe lady and immediately gets into a catfight with fellow republicans. Thats fun. Well do that when we come back. Cenk were back on the young turks. Liz cheneys back. Well, she was actually never here. She was always on television, but shes never won a damn thing in her life. She is running for senate in wyoming, and shes actually going to battle against a republican senator there for the seat, and i guess well see how it plays out. She recently announced that shes running. Hi, im liz cheney. Over the last several years citizens across our great state have urged me to consider running for the senate in 2014. Today, i am launching my candidacy for the United States senate. President obama has launched a war on our Second Amendment rights. He has launched a war on our religious freedom used the i. R. S. To launch a war an our freedom of speech and used the e. P. A. To launch a war on our farmers, ranchers and energy industry. Shes not running against another republican thats been in that seat, senator mike enzi. He was caught off guard by this. He noticed that she was kind of touring the state and he was wondering why. Apparently he had talked to her and she said im not going to run against you you dont have anything to worry about. When reporters asked you why did you tell him that, heres what she said. Well, anybody can run against anybody they want in the primary. Thats how the system works. You were surprised. This, shes been traveling around wyoming for a long time. Im not surprised. Im only surprised that she said if i ran she wouldnt. She announced 30 minutes after i more specifically stated my intention. Im an old shoe salesman, i know there is a custom write up, i listen to the customer and when i see how that works with the inventory weve got thats legislation. What she mentioned there i switched the tapes on ana there. I dont know what happened man im just a shoe salesman, i dont know how i got stabbed in the back here. Another quote he had was i thought we were friends. You know, awesome heres liz cheney using the opportunity you to take another shot at him. What happened is i called senator enzi to tell him that i was considering a run and i have always believed that that decision should be made irrespective of who were whoever else is in the race, you do it based upon what you think you bring to the cause, based on the issues and the policies that matter. It is not true. I did not tell senator endsy he would run if he did. I suppose hes just confused. Cenk get that, hes 69 years old. His second pot shot at his age. She said we need a new generation of leaders. I love that enzi trusted a cheney. That move has usually worked out. Noah conservative, its republican on republican crime thoughts go. Yeah, mike enzi is not confused. He saw that coming. This has been sizzling under the radar since she moved to wyoming a year ago. Kind of a clumsy roll out. Im not sure she won a whole lot of friends. What shes got going for her is 100 anti sentiment. One thing enzi has going for him is hes got a name and hes been in that office since the mid1990s. Hes a good retail politician. Hes not really into campaigning, but that state really appreciates handshakes. Who knows, she could really pick him off. This is wyoming the primary is the general, if she wins in the primary, next up is senator liz cheney. Cenk i love this other quote she gave. We have a defend what we believe in. Snooze fest, typical republican talk. We have to not be afraid of being called obstructionists. Because thats what we really needed. Someone whos more obstructionists than the current slate in the senate, right . But see, there in lice the crux of the problem. The day after, you have republicans basically giving up however temporarily on the obstructionist agenda, confirming some of obamas nominees have been held in check a long time, then you have liz cheney dishing up red meat, nice and raw and picking off a guy who is unassuming and perhaps a low key dude. This is one of the reasons we captain have nice things, why we cant have a health care plan, because the Republican Senate and candidates keep shifting further and further to the right and if you dont shift further to the right you get a dick cheney daughter running against you, you get a rand paul, you get any one of a number of republicans in the house and particularly rather in the senate particularly in the house serving up the red meat and going to washington to create an obstructionist agenda no matter how much it harms the country one way or the other. We dont have moderation thats been killed a long time ago. This is just the nail in the coffin. Cenk as as if the Republican Party was not right wing, here comes another cheney. How much further do you have to go to the right before this sort of thing becomes too far hour bounds and beyond the mainstream . Certainly you can look at whats happened over the last term and things that have been killed, 41 votes against obamacare . Really . Seriously . Why is that acceptable . I think it will work out when it comes from what noah is saying shes a woman younger a cheney. Its going to work out for her. I think its a pretty slam dunk case. Cenk enzi had 71 of the vote last time. To joes point well, you know, democrats or just people of wyoming, are there no bounds of reason . However can the republicans go right before you go im not positive i want to vote for atilla the hun maybe i should vote for a democratic. Steve cohen, one of our favorite congressmen, we are a little biased, we thought he had a daughter. Its like a maury povich episode. Does he actually have the daughter . Well explain when we come back. Overwhelming, crazy stressful. Congress steve cohens from tennessee. Hes a character. If youve seen him on show the you know hes willing to speak his mind which gets him into a tiny bit of trouble. We have him pleading with a young 23yearold blonde aspiring model and the reporters like got you yeah victoria brink obviously your mistress. It turns out it was his daughter. Oops except it turns out its not his daughter. Double oops ok now is he at all responsible for this . What in the world is going on . Lets begin the explanation from a reporter from cnn. Overwhelming, crazy stressful. Thats how victoria brink describes her life the last few months. Shes the woman who had a twitter conversation with congressman steve cohen. That conversation was during this years state of the union speech and also by the way it forced the congressman to admit victoria was in fact his daughter. Enter houston oilman john brink who always assumed victoria was his daughter. How tough has this been for you . [bleep] excuse me. There was never any hard proof, like say a d. N. A. Test until now. Cnn obtained victoria from victoria, john brink the man who raised her and congressman cohen. The result. The results show that steve cohen is not my four. All the tension and emotion for nothing. He has 0 chance of being her father. Cenk that was amazing. I would have loved to do that on this show. Steve cohen, you are not the father ok. All right. Look i know im making light of it. Hes broken up about it, was. For a period of three years he thought this was his daughter. He was so excited he doesnt have kids, and so, you know, he was just beside himself happy about the situation now this happens and its really, really sad. On top of that, people are talking about oh, well, hes tweeting inappropriate things again, like in the past, he tweeted something so inappropriate about cindy lauper. He said and then on this particular issue first on the d. N. A. Test, he said i was stunned and dismayed when the test disproved what victoria and i believed about our relationship. I still love victoria, hold dear the time i shared with her and hope to continue to be a part of her life. As cnn asked about it, reporter burns tweeted cenk and then people are like oh, you called her attractive. So who cares . Who cares . All right but lets see if ive got this wrong. I cant find anything that steve cohen could have possibly done wrong here. Noah, correct me if im wrong. Well, with what he said to burns . That was somewhat inappropriate. He later apologized. She tweeted back, said later he apologized, he was under stress and that response was indicative of it. I have a hard time having a problem with a southern jewish democratic. I think thats fantastic in congress. Cenk were all apparently biased in favor of steve cohen. Ana, youre our resident woman here on the panel. I am, and for the second time im going to agree with noah. That was inappropriate. What does her being attractive have anything to do with the question she asked him . Thats like asking noah a question and noah saying youre turkish. Who cares. Cenk if noah started an answer like cenk, your hot but id be like ok. For men men have never been judged on their looks when it comes to their professional credibility, but for women its completely opposite. Their attractiveness is judged before their professionalism or their credibility. I would definitely be annoyed by that. Thats true. Can i speculate. I wasnt there. She knew he was under stress, he was probably getting asked the questions, probably told seven other people, i dont want to talk about it, no comment. He probably did, so she jumped in front and said are you going to answer my question, which by the way women get objectivifies all the time. Sometimes they take advantage of it. Cenk thats a lot of speculation. She didnt do anything wrong. Heres the thing joe joe look steve cohen speaks miss mind and thats why hes so refreshing. Every time i have him on the show im like whoa, did he actually say that. We want the politicians tas that, but when they do it, you called cindy lauper attractive and that reporter attractive and were coming down like a ton of bricks about you. You can speak your mind about things that are very important and relate to what youre doing for a living. I admit there are times when people cant turn that switch off and thats part of the bad that goes with with the good. Thats the negative that goes with speaking your mind. Thats why so many politicians are tightly buttoned up and controlled. One question i have is wheres mom . It seems like theres a missing component to this whole thing someone who could say whether or not the timing mattered or whether or not there was something that steve cohen brought to the table to make this a feasible scenario. Cenk ive got about 10 seconds. The mom was with the oil tycoon at the time, but she said steve cohen was the father. Apparently, she was also with steve cohen at the time. She thought for sure it was steve cohen it turns out it wasnt. Thats what led to the miscommunication in the first place. We all agree he did actually nothing wrong. When it comes to the victoria brings story. When we come back, one final story. Go. John good evening, you know its no secret that rush limbaughs 3400 pounds of fuming id wrapped up in skin and it is no secret hes a racist from calling the president a kenyan to saying we need more segregated school buses in this century. But this week, my friends rush finally let himself say the n word on the air and it proved this man is so soulless, he cant technically lose a bet with faith. In tonights f bomb, were going to tell you exactly how racist he really is. Also democrats want to restore the Voting Rights act. Republicans are open to this. They dont like the part about the Voting Rights. Some republicans have no problem with black
