Budget director mick mulvaney. I want to thank jared and chris, adviclavell. I want to thank ivanka for working so hard on it. Our goal is to lead a sweeps transformation of the Governments Technology that will deliver dplat i canally Better Services for citizens, stronger protection from Cyber Attacks which we were just discussing. Thats a big problem, there is no question about it. Well solve the problem, and up to a trillion in savings for taxpayers the next 10 years. Over a trillion. We are embracing big change, Bold Thinking and outsider perspectives to transform government and make it the way it should be and at far less cost. My administration has taken historic steps to modernize critical i. T. Systems and make government more transparent. As an example, you are seeing what we are doing with the airports. With all of the billions of dollars that have been spent on planes flying in the wrong direction. We are getting a change. We are getting that whole system fixed. Money wasted over the last 6 or 7 years. Billions. Va secretary shulkin recently announced that we are upgrading technology to allow the seamless transfer of veterans medical records from the Defense Department which has been a huge problem for decades and decades for our great veterans. Well have it fixed soon but it has been a problem for decades across government. We are fixing problems in months that others have not fixed in years. 50 years ago our government drove the innovation that inspired the world and put americans on the moon. Today many of our agencies rely on painfully outdated technology. Yet we have the greatest people in technology that theorld has ever seen right here with us in this room. And most of them are just nodding as i am saying that. They are actually agreeing with me. Thats interesting, right . Government needs to catch up with the technology revolution. Well im real excited and honored to be a part of today as many as conversation and applaude the work jared and so i many others are leading. Its clear a lot of thinking being applied its whats been needed for a long time. And its the beginning of a lot we are 70plus percent of government work loads run on the vmr software today. B moving it ahead to the cloud and putting in place cyber hygiene and we as an industry are part of the seed core from the Research Investments of government and university. We deeply believe we need to be planting those seed corns for our children and grandchildren. Ceo of qualcomm. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute today. Our Company Works on creating the base technology that allows big transitions to exist in cellular technologies. We are excited about the upcoming 5g transition. It will be a job creator worldwide. Wee applaud the direction that the administration is taking. My name is john door and with a Startup Company called yuna. I would like to change to it being the data administration. If we unlock that we can improve service for citizens, lower the cost for government. If you set the data free, the entrepreneurs will do the rest. Im impressed by the medicare and medicaid teams and look forward to work with you. Im nuke drake president of ohio state university. Im glad to be here today and happy to participate in this conversation. We try to empower and inspire young people to make a difference. And being able to work with government and those around the table to do that. Thank you for having us. I think in addition to what technology and the internet will do for all of us. It comes with tremendous responsibility of cybersecurity. Working with the weakest link which is small merchants and the individual consumer. Get right level of safety they demands from us is important. Level of engagement and level of dialogue was very, very interesting. From ibm. I have been in a number of these sessions and its noting the efforts around workforce development, around cybersecurity and modernization. While they are difficult, in this short time there has been progress already made. I would say on behalf of jared and i van today and chris and reid, those of us who have been in it from the beginning i can see actions have been taken. I can actually seat change happening already. This is a good a sign of progress. Mr. President , thanks to jared and ivanka for driving this so hard. Im convinced during your administration there will be a huge explosion in new opportunities because of the platforms built in our industry. Those will create huge Large Business opportunities for which we entrepreneurs, technical talent and innovation understand. It can drive america very positively forward and it will happen soon during your leadership. Im peter keel, a venture capitalist in Silicon Valley. Im honored to be here with these terrific people. The Tech Industry is doing well in america, and we need to make it do even better and gift the support, regulatory support, and all sorts of different ways. I think your administration is off to a terrific start doing these things. Mr. President , im ce to of adobe, the company best known for photo shop. Thank you for having us today. Two quick things. I think you are championing a culture of innovation i think will be critical to our countrys future leadership and shared services for improving government i believe will drive a lot of efficiency. Thank you very much. Ceo of intel, you know, way got out of today first its a great honor to be here and a real pleasure. But also it was a great outreach between the privatepublic partnership that we can drive innovation much, much faster. I see this as just the start of what wee can accomplish together. Thank you, a Great Company and i appreciate it have much. I know many people in the white house and supported general mcmaster on the front line and many of his special operations people around the world. Ways gratifying about what you are doing is to focus on getting more output for the input i dont think there has been a deep focus on in the past. We focused on rooting out fraud and abuse in government which is something all americans would welcome and i thank you for your efforts. Thank you very much. Bill mcdermott from a. S. P. Its been a ds. A. P. Its been a great honor to work with your team on interest electric tiewrl development in america. I know you want to drive results. In addition to the trillion in costs we can take out we can add 2 trillion by getting the public and private sector in full cooperation under your administration. Look forward to supporting you every way i can. Im kyra skinner. I think you know me from the campaign on the foreign and diplomacy time. But im also a professor at Carnegie Melon University where i work on Cyber Security with the engineers and computer scientists. What i liked most about today is we talked about recreating the ethos system of the early days of the cold war between the private sector, the government and the private university to regenerate our economy. I am also a fellow at stanford and they will get mad at me if i dont mention that. Im julie sweep, ceo of north america fors extension. I think two clear themes were that modernizing the government is not about technology, it is about outcomes for our citizens. Second is the investment also in our great Public Service that this will bring about and the opportunities for the people people who serve in the federal government today to help them bring Better Services and those are important and exciting things. Im ceo of or cal. Of oracle we had a tremendous day working together. The partnership between academia, the government and private end prizes is a powerful collaboration along with leadership. You had volunteers from all sides and a lot of people working already and ready to go for the next level. Im tim week from apple. The u. S. Should have the most modern government in the world. And today it doesnt. It its great to see the effort that jared is putting in working on things that will pay back in 5, 10, 20 years. The government should be focused on its citizens. And the services of the government should be measured on how pleased the citizens are with receiving those services. That basic premise is not how its done today. So i would encourage you to ask the cabinet how they are measuring their parts of government and what they are doing to serve the citizens they are meant to do. Secondly, totally unrelated, but something i feel passionate about. Coding should be a requirement in he public school. We have a huge deficit in the skills that we need today versus the skills that are there. And we are trying to do our part, hopefully more than our part in doing that. But i think leadership from government is also key. Thank you very much, tim. Appreciate it. And appreciate all you are doing over the last number of months for jobs. Thank you all. Thank you very much. Charles that was President Trump in his meeting with tech ceos in the white house. Very important, smart messages. Some were scripted, some were not. I want to bring in our panel. Rick, let me start with you. The first ceo to speak was from microsoft and he talked about two things i thought not necessarily shot across the bow of the administration. But things where the Silicon Valley has had with the white house. Spending on research and funding on entityies for research and immigration policies. This was a home run. You had tech ceos complimenting the trump process and complaining about what happened in the past. There were many people frustrated with the last administration for not doing enough. That was clearly coded in there. Jared and ivanka were complimented through the entire process as two people serious about innovation. It means we have donald trump and others bringing this private sector mentality into the government. Clearly the tech ceos love it and they want the process to continue. Charles kirk, to that note, the ceos. They were among those extremely excited about this meeting voicing optimism about what lies ahead. The entire group very optimistic. But myselfing was Mark Zuckerberg from facebook. We know back in april elon musk pulled out of this council. He was caught up on one issue related to the Paris Climate Accord and hes not there for that reason. What im seeing right now is extraordinary in terms of Tech Leadership coming together with government, modernization, efficiency and to get some money back to the taxpayers. It looks as focused as any action i have seen come out of this white house. Charles the last comments, it was more like a statement from tim cook. Part of it speaking of investment. The focus on coding. I know we talk about the skills gap. But the white house is focused more on the skills gap with relationship to the ceo of ibm. You dont need a College Degree but you do need skills. They are saying to be competitive we need to be strong on stem technology. That was an interesting comment by tim cook. Here here to talk about how to make the government more efficient. But his comment that we need more educated students to learn coding is somethg very few ceos could say this in this puic setting. He also the point that elon musk is not here is important because tim cook is here. They had their differences with the president over paris. He said you need to serve the citizens of this country. He said go back to your cabinet members and make sure they are serving the citizens. It was an interesting round table. All the tech concerns. Everything people are concerned about. You havent seen this before with any other president. Charles he said the u. S. Does not have the most modern government in the world. It was really a plea more President Trump to move forward with these innovations or idea about innovations. Two things struck out to me. Its fascinating that nothing creates this bipartisanship like the prospect of earning money. The government is going to be their client basically. What was interesting though was their views of government, government is a service provider. To make government more efficient and make it smaller. Hopefully thats where it goes. Not government as a service provider. Charles we had the top ceos in the country. We are coming up against a hard break. But i want to remind the audience 3. 5 trillion in market cap. We are looking at the future of america. President trump called them to the white house. They had a very good meeting. Some would say it was a great meeting. We are talking about investing in our future to keep america number one. And were working together to do just that. Bringing you more great tasting beverages with less sugar or no sugar at all. Smaller portion sizes, clear calorie labels, and reminders to think balance. Because we know mom wants whats best. More beverage choices, smaller portions, less sugar. Balanceus. Org and this and i think. Okay. There must be consequences, north korea must understand that they cannot do this. And get away with it, i think that this is a time for with chynna china can do more. We can talk about sanctions on countries that supply or do trade with north korea. And i think that we can look at china and talk about banking sanctions. You want to see something that will scare china quickly, that is banking sanctions. We have a problem in the u. S. Government was not utilizing out of the assets we have at our disposal with diplomacy. Diplomacy is not just looking across aisle and making a moral argument of another country should do something. Were the United States of america we should ou utilize out of the assets. Charles jillian. What we have seen since trump has taken office is him do 10 missile tests, and what happened when assassination in malaysia. I think they o are testing trump, now is not the time to reward them with a diplomatic overture. Charles President Trump said, dont let the witchhunt distraction from the massive accomplishmented. We talked about them on the show, well talk about them some more, next. Can make all the difference. It can provide what we call an unlock a realization that often reveals a better path forward. Get a portfolio that works for you now and as your needs change. Investment Management Services from td ameritrade. Charles President Trump, confirming his agenda is strong amid the russia investigation. Tweeting the make America Great again agenda is going very well despite the witchhunt. Here to discuss, amy holmes, daniel halper. President trump will never get proper credit. And it seems like he is getting on message, using twitter as an effective tool to get that message straight to voters, he tweeted one of our polls he was at 50 approval down to 48 today. Charles is that better than president obama at same ju. We poll this is important for donald trump to get on message, move forward. Charles here is the thing, know, his foes in Mainstream Media are relentless. They will not talk about the areas where weve seen massive improvement. That is the great irony, where he tweeted a the great list of successes, we would talk about this list, if he were not tweeting so many other things. I was thinking what a innovative idea to bring people in from tech sector to modernize and make our government more efficient. We should be seeing more praise for trump. He has to get on message, stay focused. Charles daniel, also imperative that the Administration Stay focused where they dont allow Mainstream Media to derail them or the agenda. That is going to be key, to have some measure of success outside the white house in particular his legislative agenda which has really gone no place. Were very early, but usually those come with first 200 days, i think he needs to Pass Health Care attacks reform, certain tax reform, that will be key for him, there are a lot of things that a lot of that is out of his hands. He could make it worse, maybe he has. If he could do something substantively. Charles we heard there will be a vote next week on health care, will that be the key . I think it is, president has prioritized health care. His first legislative push out of the gate. He has commented on the house bill, not necessarily to benefit of legislative process, but healthcare preform is tough, they will need to get democrats on board. All right does. Charles another record day in the stock market. My commentary, and the new arms race. Talking about worlds fastest supercomputer, and why it matters. Well be right back. Charles fox news reporting White House Press secretary sean spicer, fewer daily briefi, briefings. Welcome to holiday inn whether for big meetings or little getaways, there are always smiles ahead at holiday inn. Charles secretary of state Rex Tillerson releasing statement on death of former north korea hostage warmbier. Today we received with deep sadness, Otto Warmbier has passed away, we hold north korea accountable for the unjust impres imprisonment and demand release of three other americans who have been illegally detained. Well have more on that in the show. Now to the markets. Dow jones average finished in alltime high. And major averages moved higher. Big winner was nasda composite, up 1. 4 . Driven biotech by the tech, it was sim seem semiconductors, micron and amd leading the way, the conventional wisdom is computer chips you would never buy them, they are cheap commodities, they are looking great. Demand will remain skyhigh. Last week secretary of Energy Rick Perry announced a Major Initiative to propel u. S. Back to front of pack for worsts faster supercomputer, a goal to reach the ability to compete 1 million trillion floating points per second. Other Industry Leaders that would be involved, amd, and hpe, and ibm, intel and nvidia. We remain largely unchanged. Now if you believe that the next big global war will be fought online, this is crucial that United States have the best weapon to win. Moreover the Computing Power in the games will have a an amazing impact on Nuclear Warfare games and help police, and terrorism campaigns stop recruiting for terrorists fine cures for diseases. I know that nvidia is monster in the group from an investing point of view, keep an eye on amd. Amd is benefiting from bitcoin. Coming up, americas Opioid Crisis is spiralling out of control. Well be right back. upbeat electronic music im living that yacht life life, life top speed, fifty knots life on the caribbean seas its a champagne and models potpourri on my yacht made of cuban mahoghany gany, gany, gany, gany watch this charles the opioid crises is out of control in america. 365 deaths in ohio. Chicago has quadruple population. Joining me now to discuss this, dr. Mark siegel, dr. Kelly powers, thank you. This is beyond anything you could have imagined 5 or 10 years ago. I think this is one if not perhaps most dangerous crisis in america right now. Absolutely, we were talking about gunshot victims. And car crashes and hiv at height of its epidemic. Fentanyl, doctors prescribe opioid for pain med, you can get it on the street, they are over predescribing, it causes tolerance then addiction and abuse. Charles dr. Siegel, we can trace a lot back to doctors perhaps over subscribing this drug. There seems to be other elements, an economic element, maybe some other things associated with this. Some of the same drivers that were part of november election. Middle of america, collapsing losing faith. Absolutely, in this case, in ohio, which is seen over 10,000 overdoses this year, from mostly fentanyl. Fentanyl is number one from doctors overprescribing and also mexico drug cartel, flooding ohio on the street. They get it on the street, 50 times more powerful than heroin. It stops your breathing, before you know what happens, a cop comes they give you an antidote, they dont have enough. Charles why is it prescribed. Also, there is purity on the street, there is no, it might be an accidental overdose. They take that it is more pure. And overdosing on respiratory depression, low oxygen in the brain, then death. This was supposed to be a drug for severe cancer sufferers, only 2 of written by oncologists, people who dont need this are getting it. Charles is this made in china. I know you said it comes through mexico. Absolutely. Charles made in china, comes through mexico. Why do they continue to prescribe it . Are there not alternatives to this . There has to be way to stop it. It is controversial. As a surgeon, i prescribe opioid in limitation, i am very careful about how much, usually just three days worth. Charles is there a followup to find out if they still need it or take it on their own. We see patients most operatively, we encourage them to switch out of that narcotic to overthecounter pain med. Dr. Gottlieb is looking at most dangerous ones, fentanyl is one of the most dangerous, that is one that fda could play a more active role. Charles thank you very were. I also think there is a spiritual aspect we must look into. Coming up, global hot spots reaching new boiling points. Well be right back. Charles pentagon officials are affirming that u. S. Pilots will not hesitate to defend themselves against go any russia attacks or threats. This in response to u. S. Jet shooting down a syrian warplane over the weekend. Michael, let me start with you. First time we shot down a syrian plane since we entered that conflict going after isis in 2014. Is it your opinion they were not taking us seriously after 8 years of feckless, leadership from president obama . Or was this some sort of a individual test against Trump Administration . Thanks charles. What is interesting is that russians and Turkish Air Force bombed u. S. Backed rebels in past, and Obama Administration did nothing. This was a react by Trump Administration. Only after calling russians, saying, can you put pressure on assads forces not to bomb our guys was this aircraft shot down. I think they are asking putin, what you are doing in syria. Have you not stopped Trump Administration from bombing our basis or hitting iranian proxies in southern syria. Now they are shooting down our aircraft. A lot is rhetoric from putin about what they will do with u. S. Aircraft. I dont think they will do a thing to be honest. Charles at home there was confusion, during campaign President Trump wondered about our rebel forces. But, to me, i think, at least it has been clear to these were to mike wills point, they were kurds who we know have been fighters an argument we should help them more . The u. S. National Security Threat in syria isis. So donald trump made it clear during the campaign, that if he were president , he would defeetz feedefeat isis, the american appetite, which also i think propelled donald trump to the white house, is that the view that syria is a mess. That there are there is a proxy war going on right now. So taking that. It would make sense that the United States would need to support the kurds,e the kurds are those on the ground. If we want to make sure were doing all possible in syria without u. S. Military personnel on the ground in great numbers, then we have to support the kurds, the kurds are there doing what we want them to do. And it means that u. S. , forces are not in large numbers on the ground. But we do have a problem in that our nato ally turkey, they are not happy with the kurds. They want to somehow defeat the kurds here, we need diplomacy to work with the turks, and be able to support the kurds in better way than we have been. Charles read a statement just now from senator mccain. Reacting to date of warmbier, let us state the facts plainly, Otto Warmbier is an american citizen, was murdered by kim jonguns regime, in final year of his life. He lived a nightmare, in which north korea people have been trapped in for years, force labor, mass stoferrin starvation, torture ask murder. Can you give my 5 second idea what we should be doing here next . I agree with senator mccain. We need to look hard at north korea, talk to china about what north korea dido this young american. Charles brutal, evil, evil, so heartbreaking, thank you. Home we appreciate when you watch. Here is lou dobbs. I am trish regan in for lou, we begin with breaking news, american stupe who wa student who was freed from north korea last week has died. 22yearold Otto Warmbier returned to u. S. Tuesday in a coma. Doctors said he had extensive lose of tish i tissue in all parts of his brain. His family released a statement, when otto returned to cincinnati, he was unable to speak, unable to see, and unable to react to verbal
