Lawrence and i both have the same mission to work every day and fight for justice for Crime Victims and make sure their stories are never forgotten. [applause] also the new brave and women who put on the uniform every day to be celebrated and not condemned. [applause] Law Enforcement officers of the definition of selfless and one of those is florida Highway Patrol trooper. Happening today taken over by the annual skyway this is her fifth annual 10k the bridge rac race. At work that detail for the four years and has taken place but this was the biggest at seven or 8000 people. Everything was financially 45 00 a. M. We heard three transmissions that a car had broken through the detour. I remember hearing the panic in their voice we have the vehicle traveling 100 Miles Per Hour flowing through the checkpoint. I that we have a couple other checkpoints and he will stop. A silver bmw is not stopping. Regardless of what route he took there were people and they were vulnerable. Well in excess of 100 Miles Per Hour northbound. This is not a person who wanted to stop going. Tony was the last line of defense. Im thinking i will block the lane and she will stop the last second or two i realized she was not stopping. A trooper stopped alleged drunk driver near the Skyway Bridge in the tampa area on a Collision Course with runners who were on the bridge. If tony was not there and had taken the step that she took we can had a lot of people hurting killed. Knowing that nothing else was behind her other than a bunch of runners that dont know this is coming she made the splitsecond decision to protect them at great risk to her. [cheers and applause] here she is. Thank you every day we put on the uniform with the hopes that we will come home and that morning was just like any other morning. It was at the end of the race and ready to go home and from the time she broke through to the time the crash happened was two minutes. Thats what Law Enforcement get gets. We get those splitsecond decisions and in the audience has a lifetime to criticize us that see her videos. [cheers and applause] what they dont see as we are human and we want to do a job and the job is to protect our community. Thats what i felt i did that day. [cheers and applause] thank you and i appreciate this. [cheers and applause] our next of word is the sworn enemy you know him, Tucker Carlson. One of My Favorite Things of the year. What a cool event. We did a documentary a couple of months ago with Tucker Carlson originals and we ran into a man called James Morrison one of the coolest people we ever interviewed served in the reading core intimate recipient of the Heroism Award every day is in a helicopter into another about places in the United States in texas to keep our border secure. This is what you see every day, lines of people trying to cross the border and the rio grande. Than the ones who dont want to get caught. It is the most remote and unforgiving terrain along the southern border. In the sweltering texas heat there are places no one should go. That is where you will find Sergeant Morris. And to summarize all of the cases from the seizures and those who were in the country illegally one of the gps Trackers Making Thousands Of Apprehensions and sees thousands of pounds of drugs. Developing unique skill set of Ground Tracking from Human Smugglers and immigrants entered into the country illegally. There is a lot of folks around the whole nation. We have 29 runners. 99 percent of the time i am in the air. Looking for signs thats right determine this is good stuff. To land between ten and 50 times a day from a couple hundred yards to 19. 3 miles thats the furthest i have walked. s if not there than these drugs would hit the streets. The recipient of this years here was the word Sergeant Morris from the state of texas. This is awesome. A lot of people dont realize we work the border out here and we work well with Border Patrol agents and the state and local guys. Is something i have been doing every day and for fox news to come out to fly with us and walk with us a little bit we catch good people who want to come and quite a few they are good folks. But there is a handful of folks we have, murders, sex offenders, druggies, a lot of bad folks and we appreciate you recognizing there is a table here with a bunch of hats here. I have my passat here and my partner. That is my partner. If not for david and ed mayfield, those are my guys right there and Tucker Carlson, this is an honor to be appear with you. Love it. Thank you. [cheers and applause] fox nation i love you. You can always tell the men from texas even without a hat and we have one more man from texas you dont know about this Sergeant Morris but we have your boss who is come from texas. We will invite him up on stage to say a few words. [applause] jimmy, congratulations on winning the prestigious fox news Patriot Award for heroism and the grateful recognition of your performance and productivity and dedicated service, im promoting you to the rank of staff lieutenant. [cheers and applause] that is s stalled engine come on, ole beauty. Hey, are you ready . Ah, this babys coming. knocking military heroes are sacrificing time away from their families to protect our nation. Merry christmas now back to the Patriot Awards. [cheers and applause] hello everybody there are billions of veterans across our great nation but who service have been invaluable to protect the freedom. And as our next Award Recipient his dedication supporting our heroes through thick and then it all of the challenges and inspiring. The recipient of this Years Service to veterans award goes to none other than the actor and founder of gary sinise foundation, gary sinise. I gained a lot of insight into Veterans Issues because of engaging with my wifes family members. I felt a lot of empathy and sympathy and compassion for what it was like to go on and serve in Southeast Asia they go home to the nation completely torn apart by the war and falling into the shadows because it wasnt a good thing to be a Vietnam Veteran. That connection with so many members that served in vietnam it is hard to imagine who doesnt know they will the way they are per trade in the movie it is very endearing to people like me who did not have legs. We had not seen the film or portraying characters serving in vietnam we had of idea they would make it because had the sense the Vietnam Veteran was lost but there was another story that had not been told it was a happy ending and thats what we wanted for all the wounded soldiers. When gary started the foundation we wanted to help our veterans and First Responders and those in need. I could not start the foundation and just do one thin thing. We partnered with gary to do smart homes for veterans that have mobility issues after serving our country. Its wonderful to see you walking into your new home. Thank you so much. You are crying. God bless you. Seeing the difference and just wrapping your arms around somebody can do for them, that has me coming back year after year. [cheers and applause] this year is the 77th Anniversary of The End Of World War Ii at my grandfather father. Sadly there are very few members of the greatest generation left. But one man who is made it the life mission to keep their stories ally for generations to come. That is why he is this years ultimate patriot, colonel don patton. Welcome to the World War Ii History roundtable for world war ii veterans. The mission of the roundtable is to teach World War Ii History by bringing in historians in reaching out to students to work with schools and then organizing action where history is made. Its different than reading it in a book. I am proud to be a veteran and i myself have 99 years old. And the legacy would just be the history that he has facilitated in preserving. So many stories move on untold that will be lost forever have been preserved through world war ii. A mentor whose wisdom i often seeking keep American History alive is foremost in his mind. Thank you for the years of service you have dedicated to the telling of the amazing stories. No one has done more than you have to keep history alive. In my book that makes you a fourstar general. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome don patton to the stage. [cheers and applause] it is my pleasure to give you this Patriot Award. It is my honor. [chanting] usa. Usa. [chanting] isnt it great to be an american . I want to thank the people at fox. I feel so honored tonight to be included with the people who have been honored. I have met them over the last couple of days, but it gives great pride to be honored with them. Talking about World War Ii History roundtable, its really about three things. Its about telling the history. Saluting the veterans. And for the last 20 years its going to the places where history was made. We have done close to 400 programs. We have interviewed well over 1000 veterans and pardon me but i did not bring enough kleenex tonight. [laughter] [applause] [cheers and applause] i want this organization to last after im gone. [cheers and applause] are you all right quick. I am fine. We cannot forget our veterans. Thank you. I will help you. [applause] [applause] we are honored to present the final Patriot Award of the night last spring the world take notice when russia invaded ukraine fox deployed teams a correspondence to the region to cover the conflict. That was a dangerous assignment. And to be in the middle of a war zone. In march 14 Russian Troops opened fire Benjamin Hall Well Newsgathering outside the capital of ukraine Fox News Journalists and local producer were killed in the attack. Ladies and gentlemen then survived but badly injured and he is this years courage Award Recipient. This is been a difficult day for the fox news family because to coworkers have died in ukraine they were working with correspondent when incoming fire hit their vehicle. Benjamin was seriously wounded and is in the hospital we here at the Fox News Channel want to offer deepest condolences he was a professional and a journalist and a friend we also sent condolences to our correspondents and producers a hardworking and funny and brav brave. When i first saw then i said you dont know me and he said when you want to go . He had some critical injuries that require a lot of attention. The second bomb hit and that i couldnt move or see or hear anything. s Open Your Eyes and get out of the car and then it hit the car itself because because of that im here and doing so well. [applause] it has continued to be an inspiration for all of us he is one heckuva journalist. I wrote an email saying whatever advice i have felt like it was basic think could be followed to have relentless patients to get familiar and when you look for inspiration dont look any further than your family and look in the mirror. Talking about the courage award is not just the bravery of running on the battlefield to do his job at the courage of working to the unknown and recovery is unknown. To allow any other words that i could offer know that Benjamin Hall is courageous because every day since that day he has battled the unknown and proven his own doubts wrong. I will not share the words hero back because those are his to give but i continue that man is in love with his family and his life and he is thriving. [applause] then cannot be here with us tonight so he sends us this message. Thank you so much. Thank you everyone for this it is a great honor. I wish i could be there in person but i cant yet. I am doing very well now i am walking a lot better i am seeing Betterment Injuries are Getting Better and that is things to the people who came to save me and put me back together like the doctors in the nurses those who risked their own life to save me. This is to them and those that are doing the same sort of things out after my car accident, i wondered what my case was worth. So i called the barnes firm. When that car hit my motorcycle, insurance wasnt fair. So i called the barnes firm. It was the best call i couldve made. Atat t bararnefirmrm, our r inry a Attneysys Wk Hahard i couldve made.
