Are you doing and good morning to you . Good morning, bill bill they prep the guests at the white house on friday or saturday and intention on sunday morn with the message they want to put out this is what geithner says i objected when dan pfeiffer wanted me to say that Social Security did not contribute to the deficit it wasnt a main driver of our future deficits but it did contribute 5 of the line was dog whistle to the left, a phrase i never heard before how do we square that knew with what the white house wanted geithner to say and what he actually did i mean this is, this happens a lot of time where theyre prepped by cabinet official basically being told what to say geithner balking at it this is also going to be a problem Going Forward there will be other books from former Administration Officials that will come out in the last couple years of the Obama Presidency so, this is geithner basically saying wait a minute, the spin is too much i will not go that far Social Security does add a bit to the deficit and i will not play that dog whistle bill you wonder how often they admit it it is admitted and in print many republicans will lookly link this to susan rices appearance and talking points memo that came out from ben rhodes two weeks ago how will we see that now absolutely from the white house perspective that connection doesnt come out at a great time republicans coming from the select committee there will be parallels brought between the rice and geithner prep for sunday shows because republicans say it was all spin and administration didnt even believe what it was saying the administration countering this was intelligence at the time but these are questions that republicans will be asking in the coming months bill so he was talking about dan pfeiffers counsel and talked about stephanie cutters counsel well get to that a bit later from benghazi a lot of reaction over the weekend, first from House Speaker john boehner this is a Serious Investigation i dont want theater i dont want a sideshow i want the members of this committee to find the facts for the four families who lost their loved ones and the facts for the American People i believe some we always said were ready to participate we have an oversight responsibility in congress what we dont want to see reckless and irresponsible use of congress and taxpayer money to do these witch hunts bill you hear that phrase a lot, the witchhunt if democrats do not join this, if they boycott the select committee, how big of a risk is that, bob i think its a huge risk this committee will get a lot of attention in the media they have the power to subpoena witnesses, aka, Hillary Clinton so therefore if democrats are not in the room, that is a huge risk for them i think when push comes to shove democrats, they are trying to get as much power as they can on the committee whether it is deposing witnesses or having some consultation with republicans who are the majority of this committee but i think theyre going to participate in this i dont think there will be one member i think they will have five bill five so it will be 75 as many had projected we thought it would happen last week it has not why hasnt it . Because democrats are divided nancy pelosi steered clear of the boycott option but some people in her caucus want to boycott and do one member as a sign of a protest other members like henry waxman who has done his share of investigations over his long career he wants to have as Many Democrats as john boehner will allow i think that is risk, john bain every is taking a very measured tone he has to be careful a circus would reflect poorly on House Republican conference and boehner himself bill bob cusack, lead guest for a whole new week appreciate your time thank you, bill martha the chairman of this select committee of this congress, congressman trey gowdy promised it to be a fair and exhaustive investigation about what happened trying to answer questions about before the attack when more security was requested, during the attack, who was behind it and what was the president doing as all of this unfolded you know congressman gowdy, where the president was and what he was doing during the seven hours of the attack . No, sir, i do not, nor do i know what communication if any he had with secretary of state clinton and nor can i tell you why we were still in benghazi despite the fact there was escalation of violence in the months leading up nor do i know if the president called any allies in the region can you get any assets to benghazi martha all good questions well talk to illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger coming up shortly this new breaking as prorussian separatists declared a landslide victory in their referendum to secede from ukraine but even as voters had voted, and these votes are still be counted the u. S. And its western allies say that they are not going to recognize these results while the Central Government in kiev called the entire process a sham greg palkot is streaming live from done necessary, ukraine donetsk tell us how the vote came about and what is next . Reporter martha, these results, these dramatic results were pretty widely expected we spent the day watching voting yesterday i think it would be safe to say we noted some irregularities in voting practices here they are for the dough necessary region donetsk said 96 rule turnout claimed around 57 ukraines acting president branded whole thing as a farce he claims turnout was more like 25 to 30 we think that might be correct but a key question what will the prorussian separatists do with these numbers . Both regions are sounding like they want to break away from kiev and want to declare dependence theyre fudging a little bit uniting with russia so is russia the kremlin saying results should be respects and implemented peacefully they are saying there should be talks with kiev president putin is playing a very careful game with this martha greg, thank you very much well check back in with you later bill back in our country now, a fox extreme weather alert powerful storms hitting parts of the midwest on mothers day in scenes like these scary moment in nebraska Garrett Denny watching of this it was a rough mothers day weekend for some people, garrett how extensive i have why the in a town just east of kansas city, city Officials Say there nearly 80 of the town was damaged by wind that were in excess of 1130 miles an hour the National Weather service says the twister wars on the ground gore more than 11 miles damaging more than 200 homes there folks say tornado sirens did their job well sounding early and giving a town of 800 plenty of time to take cover no significant injuries have been reported there several more tornadoes frost same system hit parts of nebraska as well areas west of lincoln were hit especially hard majority of homes in the town of Beaver Crossing were damaged or destroyed nearly 17,000 customers without power in that state as of last night and the threat of Severe Weather continues today, bill as more than 50 million americans are under Severe Weather threats bill well watch that tense day over the weekend well see what holds for today Garrett Tenney there live in chicago had snow in colorado martha can you believe that . Martha senator marco rubio has been asked repeatedly if he will run for president and so far no real concrete comment on that but Jonathan Karl of abc news had a different way to get at this question watch do you think youre ready to be president . I think that is true for multiple other people that will want to run i will be 43 this month and other thing people dont realize i served in Public Office for the better part of 14 years martha interesting right . Is rubio inching closing to throw his hat in the ring . Well take it on with a great panel on americas newsroom bill thats a peck slayings begin select committee in benghazi set to take shape republicans are forging forward the chairman saying that there are still questions to be answered that left four americans dead and trey gowdy sunday i have no friends to reward no foes to punish facts are another republican or democrat they are facts i dont have access to intel i dont have access to sources and they had motz and i have never interviewed susan rice about anything and i never had opportunity to ask the secretary of state questions about the leadup to benghazi and why we were still there and the British Ambassador was almost as assassinated and our facility was attacked twice and there were multiple episodes of violence and we were the last flag flying in benghazi and i would like to know one bill illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger, and also a pilot gnat National Guard it was having to democrat had a lot of questions frankly too but on the issue regarding the select committee when what will democrats do . You know look i think at end day if theyre smart and i think theyre smartish they will put people on the committee and i mean reality is this legitimate issue American People deserve answers to you have four americans that were dead and question of lead up to it and a question why the military was not sent when there was is seven hour span between first and Second Attack as a military man were told from the beginning of training if you ever go down behind enemy lines your country will never lead you behind and i can imagine men in middle of that firefight waiting for f16 or ac130 and those guys to come save them and it never came we need answers at denned of day there may not be grand conspiracy here but maybe there is the American People and Congress Deserve to know the answer we have not been able to get to that yet bill let me raise concerns becerra raised with Chris Wallace do not excuse me from interviews and subpoenas and will that happen . They have a legitimate right to find out the same information we do and if they participate i think they will get all the information that well have as well bill calls it a partisan witchhunt already it hasnt even begun just yet and you guys are trying to make Hillary Clinton look bad and how do you react to that . Look the facts of hillary we have enough to run against her in 2015 this is not about hillary looking bad we believe if youre willing to raise to right hand to swear, protect and defend the constitution in the United States you deserve answers from congress if you lose your life with a Youtube Video question that happened i think it keeps ends death of four americans this was youtube, wasnt necessarily the result of a terrorist attack and few days later they change their story we find out they knew all along this is big deal and we have to have an answer too bill one more point he made and there are seven different investigations on benghazi already and why do you need another one . Because what we saw, look at ben rhodes email that came out you had at love investigations going on but the administration was able to use those in essence against these other to not release all the information and call it the bureaucracy of congress or whatever to do it so now it became obvious with the speaker and ben rhodes email it is time to focus on one committee with somebody great like trey gowdy who will do a great job chairing it, and people on there will be fantastic and get to the bottom of it with one single focal point, and American People deserve the answer and people that defend our country every day are asking shocked by what happened and they deserve answers bill last wednesday, trey gowdy was on the question and he has three questions and here they are, number one, why was our security profile so low in benghazi on anniversary of 9 11 . And number two, why were assets not positioned around the globe to respond to north africa in time, and can we trust government in the explanation of aftermath . Of those three is one more critical than the other and can we ultimately get answers to all of these . Theyre all three important, i think the big question is why did they change the narrative, what was the purpose in changing the narrative, but one biggest to me and how come with a seven hour lull between the first and Second Attack there were not dispatched military resources . 1061 miles away sits aviano airbase sits 511s that can go very west and they have weapons that can dispercent attacks and crowds, and if the administration tried to put assets in place and couldnt get there in time that is one thing and thats an issue but the fact it didnt even appear a response shows either level of incompetence as a military pilot that is especially offensive to me and im curious why the order was given bill we heard you did not mow lou long the attack went on and how long did it last . It could have been eight hours, nine hours or five hours, and the point if youre president you move heaven and earth to get on the scene and appears they didnt get heaven and other bill and you think you will get answer on all three . I think trey gowdy and members will get whatever answers they can bill Adam Kinzinger thank force your time out of washington good to be here martha states are looking how much their prices will be for next year so how much will you be paying in your state in 2015 . Stuart varney joins us on that bill this is terrifying to watch with a hotair balloon and people inside bursting in flames in midair screaming, please dear god, sweet jesus were going to die, please help us, please help us it was the most horrific thing i ever witnessessed so ally bank has a raise your rate cd that wothats correct. A rate. Cause im really nervous about getting trapped. Whys that . Uh, mark . Go get help i have my reasons. Look, you dont have to feel trapped with our raise your rate cd. If our rate on this cd goes up, yours can too. Oh that sounds nice. Dont feel trapped with the ally raise your rate cd. Ally bank. Your money needs an ally. Bill third body found after of hot area balloon crash Police Yesterday fining remains of a third victim, a 66 retired army veteran who was piloting the balloon the other two victims university of richmond head of basketball and the they were killed hours before the schools Graduation Ceremony the basket caught fire there after seemed to jump or possibility they got out are left on their own and basket and condition of it they fell we dont know that for certain bill we will try to find answers to the ntsb joining the faa in that investigation in virginia martha so people in virginia bracings for major sticker shock under their second year of obamacare because their insurance premiums are expected to soar in 2015, so are other states going to see a similar path in this program as they get new numbers for the following year . Stuart varney, host of Varney Company on Fox Business Network and stuart, good morning good morn martha great news let me answer the question directly, will other states see kind of increases in store for virginia the answer is yes they will and let me explain this wall street journal will look at what insurancers post for premiums next year in 2015 there is average of 8. 5 premium increase from anthem i should say, they serve 110 individuals in that one state virginia, average increase, 8 1 2 , why are they going up . Why are costs rising . Number un, because less Healthy People are signing up, costs more to cover them, therefore we all have to pay a bit more, second, taxes are going up this year, theres a big new tax on all insurers and all plans, takes effect this year, got to be paid for, the coverage mandated by obama care people is more expensive, much broader, that too has to be paid for so to answer your question directly, other states, because they feel the same pressures, will also be going up next year, in terms of the premium costs martha, that is the premium and that count the deductible which is also likely to be much bigger martha stuart, i remember the president saying and administration saying in early years of this program the costs might creep up a little bit but of that they will come down, so i will assume they will look at these numbers, an say this is what we predicted, the early years you will see some increases creeping up . Eight 1 2 increase is not creeping up, its a significant increase in the premiums, and again i bottom to get back to datablables, thats where there has been a huge increase the amount of money paying outofpocket at beginning of the year and see the docto hospt time, those deductibles are much, much higher than they used to be and that is the principle form of raising the cost of health care to you and i, now, in the long run, do premiums start to come down again . We have no way of knowing at this point but right now premiums are going up there and they will go up again next year martha and got to have a dammenning effect on the economy yes it does martha peoples outofpocket expenses go up, they have simply less money for rest of the things they want to spend money on in their lives stuart, thank you very much thank you, martha bill get it numbers what it costs to state exchanges with the website, hey, it aint cheap martha money lost on failed websites, hundreds of millions of dollars there bill were looking at hundreds of schoolchildren being held captive in nigeria, this is stunning image well have that for you administration getting heat with the response on the ordeal, is twit ear useful weapon in fight against terror . Well debate that martha this baby boy is safe and sound after his mother made a daring decision to save him, and well tell you how she is doing, unbelievable story, coming up you do what you have to and i think that she definitely stepped up to the plate and she took care of her baby big deal jumped out of a house and said, well, he is all right so i all that matters vo once upon a time there was a boy who traveled to a faraway place where villages floated on water and castles were houses dragons lurked giants stood tall and the good queen showed the boy it could all be real avo whatever you can imagine, all in one place expedia, find yours ped. Bill as we mentioned before the break mere, fox news alert now were getting our first look what is believed to be the video of girls being held hostage by this nye beerian terror group in the northeastern part of this country boko haram releasing this video of 200 girls kidnapped from the school close to month ago fox news can not independently confirm authenticity of it when it was taken for that matter, but the terror group is willing to release schoolgirls in exchange for imprisoned militants, so well get more on this in a moment here but meantime here is martha on this martha unbelievable situation a Top Republican lawmaker says that the white houses Foreign Policy decisions on nigeria and other big issues can not be driven what is happening in social media, critics seizing on this picture tweeted out by Michelle Obama saying hashtag, bring back our girls, and here is mike rogers on face the nation you cant base your policy what is trendings on twitter, and it has to be more than hashtags and self fist, and we have to worry about women of afghanistan and 11 million were getting ready to walk away from them, and syria 12 million women are under siege, 150,000 syrians, and this will continue happen unless we have a robust holistic approach so what is radicalism and extremism popping up all around the world martha he raises so many good points, Steven Sigmund former Communications Director to governor corzine of new jersey and tony sayegh, former press aid to pressdentialal candidate jack kemp what do you say . First of all what he was criticizing an effort to raise awareness of, worldwide awareness of this horrible kidnapping of hundreds of girls in africa which has been effective in raising awareness, second of all, this is mike rogers himself of twitter following of almost 2000 people, he put out 1200 tweets, he tweeted about this and his seeming to belief in Foreign Policy leadership he is leaving congress to host a radio show, so that is not Foreign Policy i dont disagree there needs to be holistic approach to Foreign Policy and incredibly dangerous world and incredibly shifting world this administration is managing well and having to react to it on 24 hour basis martha there is couple levels here and point is welltaken in reaching people a lot of people had not heard about this until this Twitter Campaign and we also know so much of what we saw happen across the middle east in terms of uprising was driven by twitter and driven by social media and having impact on global issues and request whether or not the administration is want to be led oar wagged what is on twitter or whether or not there is cohesive doctrine because mike rogers talks about the women in syria, my goodness, we never hear about syria from this administration, we never hear about the women and christians being abused and kidnapped and taken in iran, it is not a big issue before this social media is great vehicle to show awareness and show solidarity, that is not what the critique is, the congressman is pointing out two important issues the toughness of administration is questioned in where American Power is never doubted, moscow with putin, that is because this president seemingly seems to following, whether it is france into libya or twitter into nigeria, he is the not one generally showing American Leadership on these issues and number two, i think we all agree, comprehensive strategy going after terrorists since we killed bin laden i give the president credit for, nigerian incident, incidents in chad, somali, maghreb and africa and terrorism is alive and well and all the we heard about the administration it is over, it is done and they have won the narrative, that is false and you bring in benghazi martha you said you would like to see a holistic approach, so youre not seeing that, youre admitting . No, when im saying is, look, this president came in with three promises on Foreign Policy, get us out of endanglements in iraq and afghanistan, and prosecute aing aggressively terrorism, and i think tony is wrong he killed bin laden and that is it, he has aggressively taken on al qaeda and taken out their leadership and their ability, the, u. S. By the way has been, there are power has been questioned in tehran and moscow for decades going back to jimmy carter by Ronald Reagan and eisenhower and everybody else, there was a cold war for 50 years, so look what im saying i would like to see this president in a very difficult situation in a very difficult world i would like to see him set markers down an stick with those markers more and look, but comparing him to republicans, all they do is take potshots from the sidelines that is not true wait a second if we listen to their advice we would be entanglements all over the world right now that absolutely are the no true if you want to go through the doctrine, obama, little doctrine, humanitarian intervention you would intervene where you have 12 million women in syria and women in iran and christians persecuted all over the world, the president picks and chooses, his incoherent doctrine in the middle east led to russia asserting geopolitical dominance there, that is martha in the cone any situation much after the fact, so it does feel like sometimes these things that are sort of, you know trending on twitter, get more, get more attention from the administration than, for example, the Syrian Refugees and unbelievably horrible situation unfolding in syria, do you think it is not curious we dont hear the president coming out and talking about this, steven . No martha why . Tonys point is the president martha said Bashar Alassad had to go and that was it president s to do have to pick and choose, particularly in the situation in africa and those girls being kidnapped has not gotten any tension for three weeks, after the first lady and president of the United States focus on it were not talking about awareness were not talking about awareness and raise action hold on, that i agree with tony if in fact a more holistic doctrine should be driven by humanitarian needs first because i think if it is only driven by geopolitical needs you will end up with a totally incoherent policy and that was not what i said, i my point the president claiming he will leave behind afghanistan, what are you leaving behind . Millions of women and children at mercy of taliban he has not suggested anything to stop and mediate ha problem were talking about an administration that really has been asleep at the switch since the killing of bin laden, realizing deep penetration that these terrorist cells, al qaeda and other have had in Africa Martha whether youre not youre leading or following the question is trending the republicans by that rationale, republican was have us in afghanistan for another 20, 30, 40, 50 years martha tony point is welltaken it would be informative to hear the president say what he thinks about situation in afghanistan as we pull out rather than dropping the subject all together and not saying anything weve been in berlin for that number of time to keep the peace and keep our interests protected, so wouldnt be first time that would be a sensible policy martha very thank you very much, steven and tony, great to have you as always thank you, martha bill doesnt look like the middle of may, does it . Heavy snowstorm falling outside of denver yesterday, and that snow continuing again this morning, whoa, a winter storm warning is in effect martha oh, man bill a winter storm warning how about that, fellows . Some areas of the state might get inches of snow martha at this point in denver theyre saying enough, time for the beautiful colorado flowers, hang in there guys, its coming this storm for you this morning, a mother that did everything she could, and i mean everything, to save her son from certain death, she lept from a burning building with her little boy in her arms, how she is doing today, we will tell you bill also a somber procession bringing unidentified remains from the 9 11 attacks to their final resting place below ground zero, our next guest says she and other family members are outraged they were quote lied to, we will talk to this woman live, next for the remains to be reposed in a tomblike structure, akin to the tomb of the unknown soldier, with dignity, respect and honor, and that is not what we have, we have a disgraceful situation no matter what kind of business you own, at t Business Experts can help keep it running. Martha incredible mom risking her life to save her son from a burning building, she jumped from her third story apartment. Wrapped him in a blanket and cradle heed the little boy in her arms and said, quote, he mattered way more than i did. She broke her back. Doctors are saying they are not sure she will walk again. Her son is uninjured. Her father speaks about her wifes selfless bravery she has had, to make a decision to go. It is amazing, wouldnt put it past any mom martha wow, mom was airlifted to a local hospital, doctors put a rod in her back and she was reunited with her son, police ned a cause of the fire, they do not think it is suspicious, we wish her well and a full recovery bill solemn moment in new york city as unidentified of remains of those killed on september 11th headed back to ground zero, they arrived saturday led by Police Cruisers and fire trucks and inturned at the National September 11th museum. Some family members protested the event and some wearing black scarves over their mouths saying they were lied to by the city. No one how have the right to take human remains of another person and use them for their own purposes. Very sad. We were promised remains would be brought back to the site separate and distinct from any museum or visitor center, Museum Officials were told that they should get the permission of the next of kin if they intend to put them in the museum, they havent done that, they have lied bill sally you saw her in the video clip there, she is the mother of a firefighter and former marine and christian who lost his life in the trade trade and she is respecting his remains at the 9 11 memorial and here in the studio good morning bill tough couple days leading up to this moment, you chose to wear the black veil on saturday . Yes bill nor what reason . It was a mouth cover and reason was we wanted to show people we did not have a voice and we did not have a choice in the final arrangements for the human remains of our loved ones bill so no one came to you and said, how do you feel about the remains of your son . Yes bill which have never been found by the way thats right bill assuming parts of dna somewhere in this collection of thousands of unidentified remains . My son is one of 1115 people who have never been recovered at the world trade center, the families of the victims have never been surveyed as whether they agree with this plan or not, i can tell you that ive been an advocate for nearly 13 years, an the majority of the families are against putting human remains in the basement of the 9 11 museum, there has been a lot of misinformation disseminated saying that families agreed to this and so on, some families agreed in the early days after 9 11 that it would be a good idea to bring remains back to ground zero, not to museum basement, they pictured that they would be going into a memorial, a type of tomb of the unknown soldier type of situation, we worked, i was a member of the lndc Family Advisory council bill Lower Manhattan group those are people ha have been responsible for what happened at ground zero the last 13 years bill so your viewers understand this, the museum will open up next couple days and it will be enormous and popular and it is below ground and what you were suggesting and recommending is to have these remains aboveground, and we had a gentleman on friday who was making a very similar and impassioned plea to make that happen, others say what is happen something respectful and heres a woman, her name is monica murphy, you know her i know she is bill she is okay with the decision that has been made and well listen here we always said they need to be inturned at the site and that is where they took the last breath and important that theyre home now this is very important day for someone like myself im optimistic michael was one of those remains and i feel at peace he is home where he needs to be bill at peace, theyre home now, and final resting place, i know you obviously disagree with that . Absolutely not this is not a way to treat heroes an victims of 9 11, certainly to be put in a museum is absolutely outrage just, people are shocked when they really hear that, if they want to be home at ground zero, i dont consider ground zero at home by the way but if only way is to put respectsful above the ground tomb akin to the tomb of the unknown soldier, that is what we were promised by the lndc, and that is part of their guidelines for the memorial, they signed off on that, thats with is what everyone expected to have and now we have a totally different situation bill youre saying they lied to you, thats a strong word and you stand by that . They absolutely switched, yes, and memorial guidelines are available online, i have a copy of them in my home, and thats what we were promised but right now, regarding what is happening now, were asking the mayor of this city and the governor to get involved, survey the families, lets end this contention, survey the families, ask them, do they agree with this plan to put their loved ones remains 70 feet below ground in private, admissioncharging museum . I know the results will be no, theyre against it bill are you willing to live and stand by the results whatever they are though . Absolutely, were living in a Democratic Society and majority should determine what happens bill as you know, there are thousands and thousands of people that youre trying to satisfy through this memorial and they have had very difficult decisions to make, can you understand the process that they have gone through . This, 3,000 people involved, it is very simple thing, ask them if they agree with this or if they do not agree with this . It is very simple and i know results will be, and we done our own family survey, 94 of the families that responded to our survey do not want their loved ones human remains in museum, we need dignity, respect, honor and patriotism bill meantime next wednesday is the opening day for the museum , sally, thank you for come in today thank you Martha Donald sterlings wife is speak out for the whole ordeal for the first time, why she says she wants to keep her half of the clippers and dementia led to her husbands racist rant bill 50 50 in california, right, martha . It means a lot, ive been with the team for 33 years, through the good times and the bad times, and its my passion martha there you have it, william la jeunesse is live from los angeles. A lot of questions for the sterlings. They answered some of the questions over the weekend reporter he is apologizing now and does his wife deserve to keep a share of the team . Those are the questions Going Forward after the nbas longest serving owner made those racist remarks. On the court the clippers are still alive in the playoffs. Off court the outcome much less clear, yesterday shelly told Barbara Walters she will fight to keep the team, challenging the nba biwhich says if the league votes to terminate the majority owners interests all other owners interests are terminated as well. As for her husbands remarks shelly said . It was horrible when i herd it. It was just degrading and it made me sick to hear it. But as far as the racist, i dont really think he is a racist. Reporter she planned to Gasser Donald but advised to hold off for financial reasons because as you intimated, the sterling estate is worth about 2 billion and selling the team will mean hundreds of millions in taxes so she will hold off for the timebeing, last thing the trump card for players if they choose to not play for either of the sterlings. Bill fox news alert chilling video shows hundreds of christian schoolgirls kidnapped in nigeria, holding them captive saying girls have been converted to islam and making new demand in exchange for martha on going crisis in ukraine, separatists declared victory in referendum over the weekend with Ukrainian Government condemned as illegal they organized polling saying 90 of the voters in two industrial regions voted for sovereignty chief White House Correspondent ed henry is live on the north lawn over this ed, good morning to you tell us what happened over the weekend . There are reports this morning that Vice President biden may go to romania, a key nato ally because that those the administration is cautious what the real motivations of russian president president are, that this was basically a rigged vote, allowing separatists to suggest that they want to get away from the Central Government in ukraine now putin is insisting he is not going to annex more pieces of Eastern Ukraine but the bottom line is, there is a lot of frustration here within the white house about what putin is saying and what he is really doing, Martha Martha current and former defense secretary talked about this over the weend, and they seem to agree at least on one aspect of all of this, right . Which is that you have got the current defense secretary chuck hagel says this will backfire on putin in the long run, former defense secretary bob gates served in republican and democratic administrations saying critics beating up on president obama there are no real good options here for him, listen to gates well our president is in a tough spot, we have very few tactical options, there is no real military option and in the short term there is not a lot we can do. My view if putin is playing long game thats what we need to do reporter earlier last week were suggestions by putin pulling his troops back from ukrainian border. There are satellite images which suggests otherwise which shows this crisis far from over, martha . Martha ed, thank you. Martha critics have now slammed president obamas Foreign Policy legacy as the white house deals with top issues like the ukraine crisis and the rise of alqaeda. Michael goodwin writing, quote it can best be described as, honey, i shrunk the presidency. Not since jimmy carter, he writes, was held hostage by iran has the oval office seemed so inconsequential against the forces of international darkness. Joined now by colonel oliver north, author of american heroes on the home front. Colonel north, good to have you with us. Always great to be with you, martha. Martha what do you think about that . Well, hes right. Michaels got it dead on, and putin is just the most visible part of those who are playing obama like a drum. You know, somewhere along this administration, martha, theyre going to figure out that Foreign Policy takes more than selfies, holding signs, bring back our girls. I grant you thats very visible in social media, but at this very minute the people of ukraine are paying a terrible price for americas leadership Deficit Disorder all because of this administration. The europeans are never going to go and act on sanctions against putin without American Leadership. Putin knows that the o team, as i call it, is afraid of russian reprisals like, for example, nasa launches or the afghan transit rights weve negotiated back in the bush administration. We could impose unilateral sanctions that would work against the russians. You could, for example, say no company and weve done this before, particularly with south africa decades ago no business that does business Russian Military or military defense or any of those can do business in the United States. That means, for example, siemens could do no business in the United States. We could do it but we wont because of that fear that they have in this administration. Martha you know, i want to read to you also in michael goodwins piece this morning he quotes the president who received an award in hollywood from Steven Spielberg about, and the award was for fighting genocide. And, you know, goodwin say that is the president c passed up an opportunity perhaps to talk about American Power in the world and the good that American Power is capable of, but heres a quote from what president obama said at that. He said, i have this remarkable title right now, president of the United States, and yet every day i wake up, i think about young girls in nigeria or children in syria, and there are times in which i want to reach out and save those kids and having to think about what levers, what power do we have . I think what we can do to drop by drop wear down those forces that are so destructive. What do you think about his take on that . Thats more of the incompetence weve seen. Look, he has this utopian idea that somehow we can unilaterally disarm ourselves to peace and that our allies and enemies will follow suit. But think of this our country is no longer trusted by our allies or respected or certainly feared by americas adversaries. And we do have real adversaries. Think about what that means to heads of state in israel, jordan, riyadh, south korea, the philippines, the baltic states, all of which are threatened by real u. S. Adversaries; north korea, china, russia, iran, and, of course, radical islam which weve now seen with boko haram in nigeria. Alqaeda is on the rise, so we have a total credibility problem, and putin knows it. Its hes aggressive today not just in ukraine, hes also moving to support iran, syria, cuba, venezuela, nicaragua and arming them in an effort to distract us. Martha colonel north, you know what the other side would say to you. They would say what do you want us to do . Do you want us to put boots on the ground and rescue those girls . Do you want them to go into syria and help the people who wo are struggling there against a brutal, brutal dictator . What do you want him to do . Great question. Russia has now given a trade deal to egypt which has been an american ally in that part of the world since 1973. Theyve just, a 2 billion military loan that theyre never going to have to pay back, because they cant. Those kinds of things happening by this administration where we could have gone in to help the new president. We could have built a Ballistic MissileDefense System in eastern europe. We didnt. That was the initial concession. W cannot get peace from unilateral disarmament. And peace through strength means youve got to have a defense budget. This administration doesnt have a defense budget. Theyre gutting it. And the fact is everybody out there understands what that means. America cannot back up anything it does. So when obama says theres going to be consequences, Everybody Knows better. There wont be. Martha colonel north, thank you. Always good to see you. My pleasure. Bill half a billion dollars, and thats the price tag on four obamacare state exchanges that do not work so well, if at all. Martha rescue crews and neighbors heard the man screaming for help. They rushed in to save him. Fifteen people lifted a section of the roof so that the rescuers could get him. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, and he is expected to be just fine. Nice job, neighbors. Bill thats a mess there. A Student Group at Harvard University set to hold a satanic black mass in a couple of hours from now. The Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club says its all about education. The archdiocese of boston disagrees saying, quote the Catholic Community expresses its deep sadness and strong opposition to the balloon to stage a black plan to stage a black mass on the campus of Harvard University. Father Jonathan Morris with me in studio, good morning to you. What is a black mass . Its a pagan ritual thats not only historically theyve existed for hundreds of years, but not only is a satan call, demonic, pagan ritual, but also traditionally an anticatholic activity. Bill specifically anticatholic or antichristian also . Well, both. Catholics are christians. But specifically catholic because they take the host that would be consecrated in normal or mass, and its a mockery of the most sacred element which is the eucharist. Bill so they do this black mass, and they do it to honor satan. And its been going on for hundreds of years. I think in this case what theyre doing is prove candidating, and thats prove candidating, and thats very different than free expression, okay . In this case theyve advertised, they have signs for this black mass. This is not just down in some dungeon in some black forest someplace doing it quietly because these people are on the fringe. No, theyre doing something in order to provoke. And anytime you absolutize a rite, like, for example, the freedom of expression, youre going to get it wrong. Harvard should be able to recognize that. Bill to this point, i guess theyre doing it at a campus bar. On campus. Bill thats right. So the Harvard Extension School says this it does not endorse the views or activities of any independent organization, but we do support the rights of our student and faculty to speak and assemble freely. Why would harvard allow this . Well, its a great question. Here were saying we dont agree with what every club does. Clubs have to get approved, and their activities count. And that a university can pull the membership as a Student Organization from them. Harvard is being weak on this. What would they do if a quran were being burnt as an expression of whatever . They would get in big trouble. They would never do it. And that doesnt mean, well, you know, therefore, they shouldnt no. But the fact is respect is part of a civil society, and harvard should be not only protecting that, but they should be teaching it to their students. Bill well, apparently theyre not, because its going to go on as scheduled, may 12th. Today. You know what the christians are going to do . Theyre going to have at the same time not protests and angry fighting, theyre going to have a Prayer Service at 8 00 p. M. In churches all over boston and campus in response. Bill good to know. Thank you, father jonathan. Martha, whats next . Martha more trouble for the secret service. Why agents assigned to protect the white house were pulled from their posts for a personal matter that we are now learning about. Plus, remember this . Bill yeah, free to be healthy, but its not exactly free. In fact, its a half billion dollars that went to four states for exchanges that do not work. What now . Cars are driven by people. Theyre why we innovate. Theyre who we protect. Theyre why we make life less complicated. Its about people. We are volvo of sweden. Martha secret Service Agents reportedly pulled off of white house patrol for a personal assignment. The Washington Post says that back in 2011 some agents were diverted to protect the directors assistant during a dispute with a neighbor. The allegations raising concerns of increased security risks to the white house compound and to the president. Peter doocys live on this in washington. What exactly happened here . Reporter martha, two families in the maryland suburbs of d. C. That shared a driveway had been having some problems, then one morning in 2011 one party thensecret Service DirectorMark Sullivans assistant was allegedly chased by her neighbor. He was on an atv, she was in a ford expedition. She called the cops, and later that afternoon her boss sent agents from a unit called prowler over to scope things out. The way the neighbor on the atv tells it, unmarked cars remained on the block all summer long, speeding away when he tried to ask who was inside. He told the Washington Post this, quote there was all these cars down there for months. They parked everywhere. It actually scared us. I wasnt sure if it was police or what. That neighbor later pled guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge for the episode that got the prowler unit involved in the first place. He reportedly said that he was innocent, but he pled because the evidence was stacked against him. Martha how does the secret service explain this surveillance, peter . Reporter the secret service tells me that, for example, during a marine one takeoff or landing, nobodys ever wondering where the prowler unit is, its not part of any protective detail, and a spokesman also says this, quote welfare checks occurred during the fourth of july weekend in 2011 because of concerns for the physical safety of an employee. These checks were conducted over a Holiday Weekend and ended once the employee was able to contact the local court once it reopened. The new secret Service Director, julia pearson, says now that the Homeland Security departments Inspector General is looking into what happened and that the secret service is going to make any appropriate changes based on that investigation. Martha all right. Thanks, peter. Bill so your taxpayer dollars now, for nearly half a billion and counting to build four staterun exchanges for obamacare that have turned out to be huge disasters. And now the states are considering how to dig themselves out of a giant financial hole. Should they ask washington for more money, or should they just scrap the thing . From the Fox Business Network, melissa francis, host of money, and gerri willis, host of the willis report. How you guys doing . Nice to see you ladies. Can you figure out why they failed so miserably . Massachusetts hired cgi, the federal government fired them because they didnt do a good job. Look, theyre hiring companies that are government computer experts. Theyre not people you find out in silicon valley. These are not the pros. Bill so youre saying the reason they failed is because they went out and grabbed people who are just average in talent. Thats pretty much what im saying. Bill is that what you found out . Absolutely. If you want this to work right, you need somebody like oracle, somebody who does this for a living, for a profit and has to survive. You find the best contractors, but then you also have to cut them loose to do things the way they do them as opposed to having bill so why would a government do that . Why does it not have the flexibility . I think its, you know, crony politics as usual. Its hard to explain. They just do it for the government. And the standards are totally different. Bill you ready for this . Oregon, okay, put it on the screen. 248 million spent, 68,000 residents signed up. First in the nation to drop its state exchange. Massachusetts spent 57 million, maryland spent 118 million, nevada spent about 51 million and on and on. Thats our money. Bill youre right. Thats all of our money. Thats taxpayer dollars down the drain. Anyone i talk to says you cant fix a site once its built and broken, you really have to start over with the right people from scratch. So any money that theyre now going to spend trying to fix this is good money after bad down the drain. What i have to say is if anybody should have done it right, it should have been massachusetts. They had romneycare, and it was online. This should have worked, and it didnt. The fact theyve already spent 57 million on it and theyre still sucking wind is whats so shocking about all this. Bill away tried to figure out we tried to figure out what does it cost to set up a web site. The comparisons we found are not apples to apples, so we cant say, but you guys cover this every day on fox business. I think its all custom. Bill i mean, what should it have cost . Do you have a number on that . No. I think that it costs what it costs to make it work, and this doesnt work, so its a moot point anyway, you know . Theyve got to start over with somebody who can do this for a living. I bet it costs less if you go to someone whos a professional out of silicon valley, but it doesnt matter if the money youre spending isnt making it work. And lets remember the obamacare web site, the back end still isnt fixed. I mean, think about it, none of these it raitions about the idea to Sell Health Care insurance online have worked. Theyve all had problems. Bill but, ladies, its may. Right. Eight months later. Bill its may shouldnt this have been worked out by now . Absolutely. And when you think about it, you make an error, you think about filing a claim for yourself, god forbid you make the smallest error, they end up denying your claim. You wonder about the lawsuits and the fallout for years to come. Bill okay. So if you put minnesota and hawaii in this mix, you know, the numbers going to go higher. They have a decision to make. Do they scrap it, or do they put more money into it . Well, i think they scrap all of obamacare, thats always my first choice, thats job number one. But the easiest thing to do would be to move them over to the federal site, stop the spending, stop the bleeding. You know, as we were coming into this segment you said, oh, its just money, what does it matter . Its our money, its taxpayer money, and people are outraged. Bill i said that with sarcasm. Yeah. You were being facetious, we could tell. Bill what do they do . I think you need to scrap it. I dont talk to anyone who doesnt think thats the right solution, however, i fear they wont do that because theyre politicians trying to save face, so theyre not worried, im afraid, about the longterm resolution. They want to in the short term save face until their next election. Bill just a quick point here, if they go to the federal exchange, thats all run out of washington, right . So the states have even less maneuverability and less flexibility. Well, thats absolutely true, and i think thats one of the big frustrations with the law, right . All the requirements are set in washington, its all federally driven, and they cant get the state Exchange Sites to work. Not good. Bill add it up. Yeah, right. Bill see ya, money. 2 p. M. , fox business. Bill willis, where are you going to show up . On the Fox Business Network, 5 p. M. Bill two and five, write it down. Seven. [laughter] just kidding. Bill martha. Martha all right. You think youre ready, you think youre qualified, you think you have the experience to be president if you make that decision . I i think we have other people s well. I think our partys blessed to have a number of people in that position and the question is whose vision is the one that our party wants to follow. Martha that is marco rubio saying he is ready to be president if he decides to run but the florida senator hasnt officially said if he does that in 2016. Ed rollins former chief of staff to president reagan and managed the campaign in 1984. Joe trippi is with us worked to Campaign Manager of howard dean and both are fox news contributors. Always a pleasure to have you. He didnt say are you going to run . He said do you think youre qualified to run . He said, yes i am. What did you make of that comment, ed. I think the senator wanted to run since he first got in the senate. He is one of the shining stars in our party. He is ambitious. Became speaker very young age at florida house. My sense is if president obama could run with two years of experience in the senate, i assume he feels he is every bit as qualified. I think if he would have been the vicepresident ial candidate, which i promoted on this show, and others he would be basically the frontrunner today. He has a long, uphill battle, particularly if jeb bush runs. They have the same base and certain extent he is one of the stars of our party. Articulate, visionary, will turn a lot of people on during the course of the campaign. Martha we asked for peoples twitter responses. There were some comments about his youth which was talked about so much when he first ran in florida, joe. He is trying to combat that, clearly. I ive been around a long time. Ive had a lot of experience in florida. 11 years i think he has been in politics. Is that an issue for him do you think . No, i dont really think so. Look, at the risk of hurting his chances of winning the republican nomination, as a democrat i think he would be somebody that would be one of the more formidable challengers. That always tends to hurt these guys when a democrat says that. [laughter] but i really, i really do. I think he brings a lot. I do think, though, that hes got a tough battle to get the nomination. He stepped out in a leadership role on immigration. There are certainly elements in his party that disagreed with him. The same thing happened to jeb bush on that issue, and i agree with ed, they do take from each other sort of the voters that might move for either one of them, theyre going to submit a little bit. So it remains to be seen, but i think hed be an excellent candidate. Candidate. The only difference is bush would be more formidable in the sense that he has a longer organization, and the fundraisers who have supported him meaning rubio pretty much were bush supporters and, would be with him first. Martha i would imagine if jeb bush decides not to run, that will be an important day in the life of marco rubio. I think that is absolutely true. Martha lets talk a little bit about Hillary Clinton. Here is marco rubio if he is asked for a potential run. Sure she will brag about her time in the state department. Shes also going to have to be held accountable for the failures, whether its the failed reset with russia or the failure in benghazi. What grade do you give her as secretary of state . I dont think she has a passing grade. If you look at the diplomacy that was pursued in her time in the state d. , it has failed everywhere in the world. Martha so, ed, you know, you listen to what hes talking about, she had a very rough week last week. She had benghazi, monica lewinsky, for goodness sakes, to deal with as well. Were going to show polls in a minute, shes out in front in all these polls, but its not without obstacles. Well, i think she got a little warning shot last week about what life will be like if she does run. I think shes very formidable. I think shes got, certainly, all the qualifications that any democrat has to be the nominee. But i think at the same time, she has to pay a price for both her own past service and the past service of her husband. She doesnt get to run free, and she doesnt get to put too much distance between her and obama which will be the most important thing for any democrat, i think. Obviously were way out here. Paul ryan and marco rubio, 9 and 8 . This puts them up against Hillary Clinton. She beats everybody in the top three and they are tied in terms of how they would fair against her. Jo, what do you make of these numbers at this point in the game . She is formidable, look, she will not get a free ride. Nobody does when you run for president. Tough, tough office to run for. But she is clearly ahead of where most people would be right now if she decide to go. There will be issues of benghazi, ukraine, and things that people are pointing out to. Theyre out there right now and she is still running in some polls even better than these numbers. So, she is going to get attacked. She knows that, but in the end, i think she, given a lot of things that were seeing on republican side, this big field, they will have a fight, someone will, going to come out the other side pretty beaten up, with their nomination. She doesnt look like if she goes she will have that problem on the democratic side, at least this time so far. So, she has got advantages that she is, she will be able to take into november of 2016 no doubt. Martha got to be a tough decision for her, joe. She got hammered last time around. It was exhaustive race everybody thought, would appear thought was hers. So to go back in here and, ed, really gave her a taste of what she might be up against. Clintons know what tough politics are all b they have been practicing it for 40 years now, starting in arkansas on the national level. I think the key thing she can learn a lot from her last campaign which was terriblyrun campaign against a young, dynamic, wellrun campaign on other side. But i think at this point a time im not sure a republican can peter easily. She can beat herself though. The key thing, can she put a Team Together coherent, that has multiple layers she had last time . Is there a Single Person can come in like joe or others who can make it all happen . If so, you can never underestimate the first potential of being first woman president. I think that is very significant factor. Martha well leave it there, gentlemen. Always great to talk to you both. Great stuff. Joe, thank you so much. Ed, see you next time. Thank you. Bill jon scott, standing by, happening now rolls your way after 11 minutes. 11 minutes away, bill. Good morning to you. Political implications of the benghazi investigation. Governor jerry brown says there is better than a 50, 50, chance of catastrophic earthquake that could hit l. A. And kill thousand us. We remember 20 years ago the 1994 northridge quake killed 57 and caused billions of dollars in damage. Will carr live in l. A. Will, good morning. How prepared is the city for this possibility . Reporter good morning, bill, experts tell us that a big earthquake, a magnitude 7. 5 or higher is really inevitable they say. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when and if it does hit they say it could be as bad or worse than the northridge quake which happened 20 years ago. Past month we had two notable earthquakes in this area. They say when a massive earthquake hits southern San Andreas Fault it could damage half the buildings in los angeles. We have not focused on economic recovery. Although our buildings will not probably kill people but they probably will not be usable.
