Think all the heroes on the front lines as they fight to again, dr. Fauci said the same thing today, we need that save american lives. Antibody test. We are at the top of the hill as soon as we have that antibody and now we are going downward, test that says you were exposed in some cases we have already to this virus, now you can get started that process. Even though we are staying back to work. You are making the recovery physically apart, no american is antibody. Alone and we are all in this that would help us have them an idea of what more of the numbers together. Sandra live fox team are. So many people that dont have coverage with matt finn and David Lee Miller. But first we want to bring in symptoms, but if we can test the u. S. Surgeon general, large numbers of people in the dr. Jerome adams. Community, we could figure out how who had it and that will in good morning to you, great to have you on this morning and we look forward to getting an update on where the country able us to release all these stands this morning. He went into this week saying this would be our pearl harbor restrictions we have in place to some extent. Moment, that this would be the saddest week for most americans of our lives. Now looking back, i would you ed lets look at some of the data that we know in the describe the week . Here and now in terms of new york compared to other good morning at good friday countries. We made this point of the top of to you. The hour, new york, 161,000 as we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us its appropriate that we reflect on many lives that were lost. Its also appropriate though cases plus, italy 143,000, france and germany at 118,000. That these efforts are actually working. In washington and california. Theyve had a flat curve for why has it been the epicenter . Several weeks now. Is it the density of the its actually been pretty population and what other factors are you seeing . Amazing what theyve been able to accomplish. Thats a really good point in new york and new jersey and you already answered part of hospitalizations are leveling off but we know that this is it. Part of it is the density of the because of the spirit of population. American people and their part of it is on the unevenness cooperation with the stayathome guidelines that we of people not taking put out from the coronavirus precautions. Some people are laughing about it and some people are having task force. Barbecues in their backyard. Sandra is the curve flattening when we look at the other people are sheltering in place. It was in the unevenness. Entirety of the country, dr. Adams . The biggest problem was we been dr. Fauci, dr. Birx and i playing catch of baseball because we didnt have the test. We were watching very carefully 14 cases over there in washington, while meanwhile it was spreading through our own community and we didnt know it. Have set constantly this will be different in different places. New york will look different and we needed a much more rapid test then california, new orleans or that we could use on people that nebraska. We wont be able to say as a nation that a particular thing had minimal symptoms and we didnt have it, and by the time is happening but whats promising, it seems like we are we had it or have it its already too late because it hitting a peak in terms of spread throughout communities. Deaths for the country. We dont want people to think thats why it took fire in that means that we are off the new york and thats why we are in so much trouble. Hook, because some places have not yet had their peak. Indianapolis is on an upswing ed last point, weve been and we want them to be talking about holy week and passover and an email from particularly cautious. The reassuring news again is mount sinai said hope is gaining a bit of an upper hand. That some places have leveled off and are on the downslope, social distancing efforts are working in our inpatient volumes and we hope that within a few have stabilized. On one single day this week. Weeks once we get past the 30 days some places around the new york 167 covid19 patients country can start thinking about were discharged from our reopening. Ed now that question, hospitals. Your thoughts . I have a very good feeling about that but it didnt come dr. Fauci who you mentioned a from nowhere. They came from the health care moment ago said on cnn, now is workers banding together, going not the time to back off social on the wards and putting their health at risk. Distancing. Making sure to control this and so is may 1st, the beginning all of the expert extra help we of may that you just referred to got in from the Javits Center and the president has referred and from the comfort coming up, to, is that a realistic all of these additional facilities have helped. Timetable to reopen the country . While we are going to be data ive never seen anything like this at my own hospital, the driven. I absolutely agree with forces coming together to fight dr. Fauci. Now is the time to lean into the virus have made an impact this because we know the more we and we should celebrate that now participate in social distancing come of the flat or the curve during this holiday. Ed absolutely. Is. There are places around the country that has seen dr. Siegel has been helping consistently low levels. Steer us through this crisis as we ramp up testing and can from day one and we appreciate your insight as always. Feel more confident that these places actually can do sandra many thanks to surveillance and can do public dr. Siegel there. Health followup, some places will be able to think about meanwhile, staggering unemployment numbers across the opening on may 1st. Most of the country will not to country. More than 16 million americans be honest with you about some filing for jobless claims in just the last three weeks alone well. Thats how we will reopen the as the covid19 pandemic country, a place by place and cripples the u. S. Economy. Bit by bit from the data. So how long will it take to ed he also said to that recover once we get things going point that testing be critical. Again . Plus, we will hear from several people who lost their jobs with do you need it . No. Is it a nice thing to know . So many businesses being shut down. So how are they making ends yes. Meet . We are talking about 320 million we will hear their stories. People and thats not going to we know it may not be the happen. How can you reopen the country same date in every location, that we are all back to work. Without giving workers the we will need to plan feeling of safety that their accordingly. Coworkers are not sick with but we also know that we cant coronavirus . One of the things that weve wait too long. We want to bounce back. Tried to do is level site with people in terms of testing expectations. You doing okay . We want to make sure that we are doing surveillance which means one and 100 or one in 50 people get tested. Its going to be a high bar to get to to say we can test 330 Million People, we dont do that for any other disease. But we want to know whats going on in the community and we want to be able to to test people that are high risk who have symptoms that so we can quickly followup and contain disease as. We dont close down cities for tuberculosis, we understand which communities are having outbreaks and we put resources in those communities to be able to quell those outbreaks on thats what we are talking about when we talk about having Testing Available. You mentioned Health Care Workers and frontline workers. Its key that they have Testing Available so they can safely put people in the front line that are immune but we can remove them from the front lines quickly if they do test positi positive. Sandra dr. Adams, i want to ask about the second vaccine trial that is now underway. Tell us about that. Do you eventually see a vaccine as a mandatory thing in this country considering you and others have talked about a seasonal return or a second wave of the coronavirus . We are quite frankly with which the speed of vaccines being developed for the novel coronavirus. We dont expect this to happen until about a year or so for now, but when we talk about getting back to normal, this will be a new normal. The first new normal will be we will continue to have to be vigilant about social distancing out about hygiene, and i hope to hygiene vigilance, and washing and covering your cough does never go away. Then we will have therapeutics and more confidence that we can treat coronavirus and with testing we will be able to know that they are immune. When we got back to a sense of normalcy will be when we have a vaccine. We dont make vaccines mandatory in most cases in this country, the flu vaccine isnt mandatory and unfortunately about half the people dont utilize the flu vaccine which is the big reason why weve had almost 25,000 people die from the flu this year. I hope if we get a coronavirus vaccine, people utilize that vaccine because at that point it will be the best protection we have against having another outbreak. Ed doctor, we started this conversation by noting the awful number of people that died this week alone in america and we care about that regardless of their race or background. Jerome adams, we certainly appreciate your time. Thanks for coming in. Levels of economic activity. Sandra that was the sandra meanwhile, new York Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell is messing up to about the future of the u. S. Economy. Recording its most deadly day in despite the 6. 69 americans who the coronavirus pandemic. Filed for jobless claims last week alone. So what can be done to help this Governor Andrew Cuomo making a country recover from a grim comparison to illustrate staggering blow . The massive toll that this virus has had. Lets bring in the chief Economic Advisor at elians and we lose over 7,000 lives to former chair of president obamas global developing my counsel, he joins us now. Mohammed, we appreciate your this crisis. Take on things and you live in these numbers and breathe these that is so shocking and painful numbers every day. For our audience tell us based on what you are seeing today, and breathtaking. Theres no explosion. The jobless claims and Unemployment Rate in the complete shutdown of the but there was a silent explosion economy, how that has it gotten . That just ripples through i wish i could say society. With the same randomness in the differently, its really bad and is going to get worse. Same evil that we saw on 9 11. That will be the biggest blow to the economy since the sandra David Lee Miller is Great Depression. The numbers are staggering like live outside of mount sinai you say. And just three weeks i have hospital. Applied for jobless benefits and good morning sandra. That is not everybody that is new york is a state of two statistics. When you look at them together unemployed right now. We show a devastating loss of that alone is 10 of our rate life, but at the same time we labor force. Show a reduction in the spread of the virus. Thats a number that has gotten according to the latest numbers higher during the great come in just over 18,000 recession. Number two, there is some real new yorkers are hospitalized but the rate of new admissions has slowed significantly, increasing pain out there. And three, the longer it takes for the government ethics which by only 1 . The other statistic is the have been enormous to get to number of new fatalities. For the Third Straight day the number of deaths in that state people. So this is bad. Hit a new high, 799. We have to make sure it doesnt officials called a lagging get worse. Statistic because it reflects sandra so the question those who have succumbed to becomes when do we open things being admitted to the hospital days if not weeks ago. Back up . President trump says he believes as hospital admissions droplets the economy will bounce back the expected the number of deaths will follow but now the state is second he believes its safe to seeking the type of do so. Reinforcements that even the governor did not expect. Senator josh hawley is a its gotten to the point republican and he said americans frankly that we are going to are ready for a comeback. Congress must help unleash it bring in additional funeral and beginning immediately the directors to deal with the federal government should cover 80 of wages for workers at any number of people who have pass u. S. Business, and up until this passed. If you ever told me that as governor i would have to take emergency was over. These factions, i couldnt even contemplate where we are now. Then the question becomes how do we get ourselves out of this . Here at mount sinai hospital researchers are trying to come i think thats three stages. Up with the treatment. Scientists are trying to determine if injecting blood the three stages now, and the plasma from people who recovered and are no healthy can help patients who are suffering. Second stage hopefully will come so we are only treating soon otherwise the president patients with this therapy if they are severely ill. Would be right in saying that cure may be worse than the disease. We have to turn on the economy so to have to be in the hospital again but be careful, its not like turning on a switch. They have to be considered to severely or critically ill. We are not going to come back fully, we are going to come back slowly and we have to plan for at this point, until we know that. More about the treatment we are in this third stages we have to not recommending this to mildly recognize that we will emerge to ill or other groups. A different landscape. This is a war and we have to make sure that we win the war in the meantime health and win the peace. Coming out of the global professionals on lawmakers site financial crisis we just won the social distancing is the best war against the Great Depression way to slow the spread of the and we have to secure the peace virus. They caution that complacency this time. Can be deadly. Its a difficult engineering issue and we have the ability to sandra David Lee Miller in solve it. We have the resources, the people, the best initial manhattan for us. Ed cases of coronavirus are rising the midwest as well, conditions of anyone else in the world but we have to plan for these three stages very illinois with 1300 new covid19 carefully. Sandra and we know the white house is putting together cases. In michigan, stayathome orders a task force for that side of are extended to april as a state things. We talked to the surgeon deals with the third highest general at the top of the show level of cases around america. Who suggested this sort of matt finn is live with us this rolling open up the economy based on how certain areas of morning. The country are doing and how this week, illinois they are coming out of the medical side of this. Experienced its deadliest day was 73 deaths in 24 hours and now here in the city of chicago, meanwhile, ben byrne enke, the former federal chairman, he a 60,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse has been weighed in on what the eventual opened to store up to 2,000 comeback looks like. He says i dont think its going to be a rapid bounce back, bodies. We will probably have to restart also today chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot is activities fairly gradually and scheduled to tour the makeshift there could be subsequent hospital. Periods of slow activity again. At Mccormick Place in chicago. If all goes well in a year or two we should see, could be in a the president has been praising the federal response in substantially better position but i dont see the economy returning to a more normal state Mccormick Place has 2500 beds. Until there is much greater confidence. That opening of the economy wont restart the crisis. That such a good point, we go that converted this facility back to what we were talking into a covid19 treatment cent about earlier on this program about to come, the restaurants might reopen but americans are center. Going to have to be comfortable and confident enough to go back the mayor announced two new into those restaurants and sit deaths of city workers including down next to each other. Thats just a small part of it. A firefighter. Now as some data then the but finally, just your projections on how long it could be before we see a full comeba governor wasnt asked if he would consider lifting the stay at home order on illinois in comeback . It could take a while but we americas thirdlargest city on will accelerate it. Or before that april 31st or ma. Remember how we will emerge from this sequentially. We are going to reopen is unlikely that we will be everything. We will reopen before the rest of the world so we will be able able to lift the stay at home to rely on the rest of the world before april 30th. As a tail wind. We will come out with companies indeed as we approach apri having to read a design the april 30th, we will be thinking supply chain. About what are the restrictions we will come out with a lot more or rules that we need to set Going Forward after april 30th. Debt and then people, you and me will be more cautious. We have to realize that this is in michigan, a state that emerged as the third worst state what, we will come out and i in the country, detroits want to stress, this is in our capabilities to plan for the future to make sure that we do massive tcf Convention Center steps from the iconic gm headquarters have also been not end up losing the peace as converted to a 1,000 bed Field Hospital and will begin well. Lets win this time both the war accepting its first 25 patients today. And the peace. Here in chicago, the city has a sheet issued meet several major citations on businesses that sandra great to get your decided to remain open including nails on that. Ed we have heard a lot about using blood plasma from sandra the first hot spot for the coronavirus here in the recovered patients to treat covid19. Our next guest has a piece in United States is now turning a corner. The Washington Post saying the Washington State returning method could be helpful until we ventilators and extra beds that it received from the federal find a vaccine. Government as the army starts dr. Fahim eunice is the chief of packing up a Field Hospital they Infectious Diseases for are to deploy it elsewhere. University of maryland health. Dan springer is live at also a fellow of the infectious Centurylink Field in seattle with more on all of that. Disease society. Hey, good morning, dan. Good morning and thanks for having me. How about some good news on ed how promising do you this good friday . The state that had this first corona Virus Outbreak and first think this therapy could be . Thats a keyword to come promising. Deaths has turned a corner and i want to make sure our is now giving back hundreds of listeners know that its not proven but i think its very promising when you put it in hospital beds and ventilators to the federal government. Context that a vaccine could be it was less than two weeks ago 18 months away, a proven that washington governor jay treatment could be 18 months ensley announced that the army would be setting up a 250 bed a away and we have 1. 5 million cases worldwide. So from here through 18 months Field Hospital. Just eight days later it was up we need to make a bridge so and running and able to accept somehow we can take mankind noncovid19 patients to ease through that bridge and save as pressure on local hospitals. Many lives as possible so i at the same time think yes. It is promising. Hospitalizations started to level off and the number of ed one early look in the deaths per day was holding steady. Journey, journal of american not a single patient was brought to the Field Hospital so he medicine showed five critically ill patients on ventilators in china rapidly or improved after treatment with the plasma. Decided to give it in four or 500 ventilators he got from the at three were discharged into National Stockpile back so they her soul in the hospital but in stable condition. Could go to another hot spot. I get that that is just five we have seen the horrific people and you suggest its just suffering of places like an early study but when we hear new york and louisiana. About this, or people are now i saw a terrible story coming out of detroit. Donating plasma, we had someone on the show yesterday who was doing that to help other people. These assets which are national how important is this, to study assets can save people today in it more but get it moving . Those places. Another good sign for washington, to Field Hospitals put up by king county with a combined 400 beds have also not absolutely, this is the science and art of both. Seen any patients so local this has been around over 100 years and we have used it even hospitals have plenty of during sars which was another capacity and are in no danger of getting on overrun. Type of coronavirus with some promising results. But how do we uplift the spirit a contrast to a short time ago of our country . When hospitals were preparing to people are hunkered down afraid of this invisible enemy and i let some of the sickest patients died. The fact that we were able to think this brings people together. Care for everything the patient right now as you know the facebook posts in groups out that has walked into the hospital is amazing. There, many, many states are its a huge incredible gift to doing it and our own Hospital System here in maryland it has our citizen especially her most started doing it so i think it vulnerable. Brings people together. Some of the most vulnerable, but the key point again is, this the homeless, are getting out of is not an on demand therapy. Crowded shelters and moving into we have to save it for the most hotels. King county taxpayers are paying for about 400 homeless critically ill people and it has to be done under medical people to do their social supervision in a way that we distancing in their very own hotel room. Social interaction has dropped dont end up with another to between 50 and 80 since the capacity mismatch. Issue that stayathome order a ed you mention sars and there is research there. Couple of weeks ago. At the fatality rate with plasma sandra r8, dan springer therapy was 12. 5 in the from seattle. Fatality rate without the thank you. Therapy was 17 . But h1 letter and one without [applause] was 54 . Thats a big difference. Yes, it is a big difference. Ed a happy homecoming and heading out for alfred. Again i slept promising but the the 68yearold las vegas man with covid19 ended up and go only caveat is these are not randomized controlled trials make an intensive care at the which are the most robust way of Southern Hills hospital where checking and results can truly be attributed to the plasma or the therapy and now we have an doctors tried a rescue treatment called pruning when he struggled opportunity with more than 20,000 americans who have to breathe. Actually come recovered from the disease. We can have larger trials and its an uplifting story doctor, we appreciate you coming in. Have that sort of meaningful data. Ed in the last 30 seconds what was it like to see alfred, we have come albert viewers understand what the next step is. Because you want to have those obviously we are protecting his trials and you have a better full name, for medical privacy sense of it but yet you also and all the rest, what was it noted a moment ago that university of maryland and other like to see them beat this . Health systems are already using it in some form. It was beyond uplifting. Its not like they are waiting, alfred represented one of our they are using it. So whats the next big step first covid19 patients and one forward in 30 seconds . Of our first patients admitted to the intensive care unit and the next big step is those certainly one of our most who are recovering should critical patients. So this was one of our first volunteer and be appropriately screened and Health Care System tests. To see this as our outcome was should use it for the tip of the hugely motivating to the entire iceberg for the sickest of the staff for the whole purpose of sick patients and hopefully we why we are here. Will have meaningful data in a ed you can hear the few months. Ed doctor, we appreciate emotion and the applause. Your time this morning. He said the only thing that i remember is i cant breathe thank you. Anymore, they put a lot of sandra lawmakers sounding the alarm warning that the things in my throat. Wondering about this virus, wondering if they get it, if show more of you. They will make it through . I think it should give people the hope that every day that goes on right now, we are learning more about covid19 and we are having more experience about what to do and we are immediately translating that into better clinical outcomes. Alfred, i think, represents the end result of that which is that we are turning the tide and beginning to win this war. Ed absolutely. Weve been hearing that from a lot of doctors battling this. In the last minute we have, without getting into too much medical jargon so everyone can did you know diarrhea is often causedtry pepto diarrhea. Food . One of the things that came while the leading competitor out of some of the hot spots, does nothing to kill the bacteria, and i want to recognize my pepto® diarrhea gets to the source, heroes, the Critical Care killing the bad bacteria. Doctors and those sites, they so, try pepto® diarrhea, and remember to have it on hand every time you travel. Gave us the information that a also try pepto®bismol liquicaps for onthego relief. Technique called pruning was very helpful. Normally we have patients lie on their back. When they lie on the back there body puts pressure on those longs and it closes them off just a little. So we turn patients over and placed them on their stomach and when doing that the heart falls off of the lungs and opens up a little bit more long. So these people are fighting for their life and when we open up a little bit more lung, thats a difference between life and death. Ed you described it perfectly. Even one story like this can provide hope. Thank you very much, we appreciate your time. Fox news alert now, Governor Andrew Cuomo is stepping up to the mic. Changing total hospitalizations is down not relative to yesterday but when its the three day average on the hospitalizations, you see a dramatic decline in those numbers and that is obviously very good news. The change in icu admissions is actually a negative number for the First Time Since we started this intense journey. That means there are fewer people in the intensive care unit statewide then there were and again thats a first time weve seen a negative number, so thats good. The three day average of that is down. Changing integrations is a little tick higher than it has been in the past few days but its still overall down. The three day average is also down. The bad news is we continue to lose a tremendous number of lives and endured great pain as a state. 777 lives lost. I understand intellectually why its happening, that doesnt make it any easier to accept. We had those very high hospitalization rates. Either you get treated or get better or get discharged, then you stay in the hospital and the less likely you come off the ventilator. And that is what is happening now. These lives lost, people who came in at that height hospitalization. It, and we are losing them. President trump but i the number is lower than think our country from an economic standpoint will end up being stronger than ever. Yesterday for those who can take we have tremendous stimulus solace in that fact, as someone plans and things in the works that are going to really, i think fire the country. Who searches for solace in all this grief. I think was going to happen is we are going to have a big bounce rather than a small the leveling off of the number of lives lost is a somewhat bounce. Ed President Trump predicting a big bounce when the economy eventually reopens but lawmakers on the hill are hopeful sign. Battling it out as democrats block more funding for the number of total lives lost, struggling Small Businesses. 7844. Rich edson is live with more for people, just to put this in details. Good morning ed and sandra. Perspective, i lived through 9 11 as many new yorkers dead. The first step is more funding for the idle economy and eventually when its safe get , for a somewhat advanced age, americans back to work. The labor secretary says the and i believed 9 11 was the administration is already worst situation that i was going planning to gradually reopen the to deal with in my lifetime. Economy as the virus fades. We know it might not be the to put it in perspective, 2753 same date in every location that people lost their lives on 9 11, we are all back to work, we will we are at 7,844. Need to plan accordingly. But we also know that we cant so in terms of lives lost, in wait too long. The president s top economic this situation should it exceed advisors say they hope their u. S. Can open the economy in the next 48 weeks. 9 11 is beyond my capacity to Officials Say the white house fully appreciate, to tell you Coronavirus Task force analyzes information daily on the the truth. Potential for gradually resuming weve been watching a spread to the suburban communities around the inperson economy. Until then if the congress and Federal Reserve are pumping new york city. The last one suffered was in trillions into the American Economy and they are working on more. Those Senate Democrats blocked a westchester ruslan but that republican bill to spend an seems to have stabilized. Additional 250 billion on small overall weve been very aggressive in the suburban businesses, democrats called the republican effort is stumped. Communities in jumping on those they want to direct a hot spots and the percentage of significant portion of that money to farmers and veteran growth and upstate new york and owned businesses, and they also the suburban areas around want more funding for state and new york citys has basically been stabilized and flat so local bones or governments. The money is urgently needed and thats good news, too. They want to spend it quickly. So overall new york is flattening the curve and we have negotiations between congressional leaders continues while Congress Tries to figure this out, the Federal Reserve has stepped in again announcing to flatten the curve because when they show us the projection an historic 2. 3 trillion series of loans programs to help small and midsize businesses and state models of what the statisticians and local governments. Projected the curve will do, we this as the federal government says nearly 17 Million People filed for Unemployment Insurance have no capacity to make those over a three week period with projections. In other words columbia the latest report saying university who is projecting the highest caseload. 6. 6 million of them did so last week. Ed and sandra come back to you. They said we need 136,000 ed unbelievable numbers, hospitals in new york city. Thank you. Sandra . Ed it you can hear sandra meanwhile on wall street markets are closed andrew cuomo from here in for good friday following a new york laying out some bad news, continuing to lose far too strong week for the u. S. Stock market. Many people. A total of over 7800 people have all three major markets are died in new york, but he said that there is some good news in showing gains despite coronavirus concerns and terms of hospitalizations are millions more filing for those down, new cases and new Unemployment Benefits. Patients, thats coming down. Lets bring in liz claman, he said overall we are flattening the curve. We will watch and see if any anchor of claim and countdown on more news comes out of this fox business. So no trading today but you look back at those percentage gains conference in the meantime. Sandra . Sandra we will indeed. For the week. Unbelievable. The s p 500, the broader gauge the Airline Industry is in a of the market of 12. 1 and the steep decline with almost no one dow is up 12. 7, nasdaq up 12. 6. Flying these days with the Trump Administration is planning a bailout for them. Does that momentum continue . What could happen next with all thats the of that . President trump its a big package and a very acceptable multimilliondollar question package. It will be good for the country considering all the stimulus and good for the airlines, good questions. As rich edson just pointed out, for a lot of people. All the money that has been. Plied into the community. The delicious taste of glucerna theres still a lot of very ugly gives you the sweetness you crave while helping you manage your blood sugar. Date out to come out. Glucerna. Everyday progress the markets tended to run ahead of the economy or at least the data thats reported. Let me give you this technology, you are the markets and im the economy and you are already passing 6mile markers on them plodding along baking for gatorade and just to take a breath. What we are seeing here is the market lags with the market predicts. We still have horrible data coming. I just saw this out of business week. The National Multihousing Council said 50 of renters paid their rent on april 5th when they are supposed to pay it compared to march 181 paid it . There are so many people unemployed and that has a domino effect. Sandra and that is leading to some grim projections from some of the major economists and some of the wall street banks out there. Here is jpmorgan saying, over the last few weeks forecasters have been operating in a fog. More recently though we are getting some sheds of data on the magnitude of the economic crisis. With these data on hand we think of the april jobs report could indicate about 25 million jobs lost since the march survey and an Unemployment Rate of around 20 . Liz, those are numbers that i dont think you and i could have ever predicted in our lifetime. You look at the numbers just in those unemployment claims, the last three weeks, 17 million filing for unemployment benefi benefits. Yes. And you know jpmorgan has some very strong economists. Jpmorgan had predicted a contraction of about 25 which was bad enough, thank you very much. So we are looking at a bunch of banks doing this. Goldman sachs came out early and said we will see the economy shrank by 25 . Thats extremely worrisome. However we could see at least according to jpmorgan a bounce back in the Third Quarter of 23 and at the Fourth Quarter of 14 psychologically, you have to ask yourself and your viewers have to ask themselves, has your behavior then altered . Meaning the administration can go ahead and open up the economy but one thing hasnt and deem it fine to get out breakfast. And, if that feels like a little bit of comfort, there but how are people going to feel comfortable going to a its thanks to. The farmers, the line workers and truckers, the grocery stockers and cashiers, Major League Baseball game, and the food bank workers, being inside to see a National Hockey league or nba game, or because right now breakfast as usual just taking a trip to the is more essential than ever. Market . People are very it could be a to everyone around the world working so hard to bring breakfast to the table, thank you. Very tough to model bell curve and telling them, the all clear as they are, go ahead and get outside. Sandra its all really interesting and the president , for his part, he believes the economy will bounce back, in his words. Once we reopen the doors. One sign that we have looked at, just this morning we saw it hit a 50 year low. Obviously people are getting in their cars and driving, they are not going anywhere. In some parts of the country the price of a gallon of gasoline is dropping below a dollar, in minnesota we saw 0. 80 at some gas stations. What a time we are living it right now. We will take the gains in the stock market. Thank you liz. Happy holidays. Sandra you, too. Ed in the meantime, we will spoke with a former fda commissioner who has a plan to do it. In these uncertain times, look after yourself, your family, your friends. President trump the Airline Business has been hit very hard as Everybody Knows and but know when it comes to your finances, we are here for you. Screenings compared to this time last year. Together. The Trump Administration is working on an Airline Bailout as hundreds of flight attendants have tested positive for the virus. Sarah nelson is the International President of flight attendants and joins us now. I want to redo this headline great to have you here and we want to tell you the the story. Every day and every flight is a coronavirus risk for flight attendants. So how are they managing that risk now . So many flights are grounded but how did they plan to manage that risk Going Forward as well . So many of the flights are grounded but there are still flights taking off with very low load factors. So even though the load factor is around 94 there are more flights on not that are taking off. We have to recognize that the Aviation Industry does provide very Critical Service to all of our communities and, please help us out and stay at home so that we can focus on getting medical services. And keep that airway open so that we can bring supplies from other countries as well. Or to get with the families in the emergency. Sandra there are so many good stories like that coming from all of this. Some of the carriers flying free of charge. That has been a really good story. These are not cumbrians of numbers but these are some of the latest. The association of pilots, the carriers union, 41 pilots and a nearly 200 other carrier pilots have contracted the virus as well. Its a huge problem and you have to get the economy back up and its not getting in my way. . I had enough running and get people back on the flights and get that crew joint pain, swelling, tenderness. People are looking ahead, and this is the time to start planning for what needs to be in place to have a pardon of conditions in our community so we dont have a risk of the kind of outbreak happening again that weve just been living through. Ed you served under president bush 43. Briefly i want to go through the ideas. More testing and Rapid Response as well. Go through quickly the significance of those steps. First off we are now in a position where weve been reacting to the big spread of the virus and many of our communities which is overwhelming to many Health Care Systems so we dont want that to happen again. With the cases way down, what we recommend implementing as the capacities to do blocks of testing in the community to prevent an outbreak from spreading. So if there are cases, we will detect them early and they will be contained. That also includes testing of workers in highrisk settings. If you are in a nursing home may be swab test for whether you are carrying the virus and potentially having the ability to affect other people may be before you do your shifts. Other businesses could help with this, too. For the people that do test positive, we need some quick followup work. We need to make sure those contacts are also tested and isolated if necessary and that might prevent the spread from becoming big enough to impact a community. And thats why i think we have peoples confidence. We want this to use all the electronic information we have about admissions to hospitals and temperatures going up, things like that, to also help us detect any new outbreaks early and predict where they might happen so we can prevent them. Theres another kind of testing that will be important in the future, too. Thats testing for whether or not people have previously been ed americans from coast to coast and all walks of life exposed and might be immune to the coronavirus as a result. Struggling to cope with confinement, isolation and so those tests are still in pandemics. Also they are looking for signs development. Of hope. Joining me now is stan rooney, a Wonderful Charity that helps the that can be people that could be families of the fallen. Thats why you had me on today to talk about easter and the season of new beginnings. He shared a four things with me that i wanted to share with your viewers. Number one, he had to accept a new reality. Everything is gods plan and the coronavirus is terrible but the lord made to stay for reason obviously. The next thing is he learned to overcome fear. Every day he faced he became stronger in the face of fear. And finally and most important as we head into easter weekend, he was tempered. He became stronger and his result is ultimately closer to god. That day there were six sailors in that boiler room. For made it out and to gave their lives. And i will finish with scripture which is john 15 13. No greater sacrifice than one man lay down his life or another. Greatest act of love and mankind ever occurred today. Laid down his life so that we may have a new beginning. That is a wonderful inspiring story. We talked about december 2001 shortly after 9 11, its hard to compare the heart ache but so many more dying now. You think about all these people after 9 11 like michael who decides to serve his country. We may see an whole new generation of people wanting to serve now. Amen. And people are serving different ways. Obviously you need cleaning supplies for the workstations, for the vehicles, for the many surfaces that are touched when delivering mail. You need a Hand Sanitizer constantly come all day. Ed fox news alert, coronavirus taking its spot on top of a grim roster jumping past Heart Disease and cancer to become the leading cause of death in america on a daily basis. Welcome back to americas newsroom. Im ed henry. Sandra good morning everyone, im sandra smith. Right now more than 466,000 4660 cases here in the United States as the death toll is near 17,000. U. S. Surgeon general dr. Jerome adams giving us the big picture during our last hour here in americas newsroom. This will be different in different places, everywhere will have a different curve, new york will look different in california or nebraska. But we wont be able to say as a nation that a particular thing is happening but whats promising is that it seems like we are hitting a peak in terms of the deaths in the country. We dont want people to think that means they are off the ho hook. Sandra at the epicenter new york is also seeing at stark estate yet hitting another single day record of deaths yesterday with more cases than any country. So there is at least one positive headline coming from all of this this morning. The rate of patients admitted to the hospital is on the decline. Jonathan serrie is live outside of the cdc in atlanta, good morning. Good morning sandra. Forgive my lowtech graphics but epidemiologists use a term called r0 or letter are not. Researchers believe that when covid19 first started spreading in china, each person was passing it onto an average of 5. 7 others but not when we factor in social distancing, preliminary estimates suggest that they have brought the letter are not down to as low as 1. 3 or 1. 5. Take a listen. No one has varied r not without a vaccine but thats whats happening with the power of the American People. You know if the worst enemy of a r not is . Physical separation. As mitigation efforts continue the center for Disease Control as extending a no sale order for all cruise ships in u. S. Waters. The cdc and coast guard are requiring the cruise ship industry to develop a comprehensive plan to reduce the chances of covid19 outbreaks and respond to them at sea with minimal reliance on state, local and federal government support. All the Washington State and california experience outbreaks early on aggressive mitigation efforts have prevented hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. In those states. They will use unused ventilators to send to states with shortages. We have stretched our curve, giving us all a bit more time. But we cant just sit on assets when we can save lives and help our fellow americans. Unlike disposable supplies, ventilators can be used over and over again so it Governor Newsom says he anticipates no problems getting them back when california needs them. Ed and sandra come back to you. Sandra Jonathan Serrie in atlanta for us. President trump i think the economy is going to do very well. I think thats whats going to happen is, we are going to have a big bounce rather than a small bounce. And i think we are going to open up strong, open up very successfully. Ed the president they are predicting a big economic rebound as they prepare to open america. Lots of people are hurting right now, the administration hopes to get the economy back on its feet starting in may and gradually get americans back to work. The start date will depend of course on medical data and whether state governors are along with some of the suggestion. Chris wallace joins us a little earlier on friday. Good morning chris. Good morning. This is a delicate balancing act to say the least. In terms of reopening. It will be interesting to s see. This is going on inside the white house, the Public Health people were cautious and the president is going to have to decide. As you just alluded to it, even if the president says and this is just fifth, he says on may 1st. Time for the country to get back to work. That does nothing. Because he didnt shut down the country, it was individual governors who issued the state home orders. He will say lets get back to work and the governor of an individual state may or may not agree with them. Then even if the governor says get back to work its the individual owner of whether its a Huge Corporation or a Small Business, they got to decide. Am i going to reopen, do i feel safe, do i put my employees back on the jobs . Then there is an awful lot of Economic Advisors to say that once we do open up its going to be very gradual. Lets say new york were to open. Are people going to rush to get back to the subways and be right next to each other after theyve spent a month or so 6 feet apart from each other . Are people going to go into businesses, will they have to have their temperature taken before they get in . And if you have something where people are close together like a restaurant, are you going to open the restaurant the way it was or do you start removing tables so that everybody is 6 feet apart from strangers . These are all issues that are going to have to come up and no one can predict how its going to happen. Ed and what you are alluding to is a public trusting whether its individual governors and mayors. If you are giving them the right information they can be confident and move forward. Fox news just did some polling. But first in terms of response to the coronavirus. Dr. Fauci, in march, 77 approval, dr. Burks is 62 and the president is 51 . We have almost a 50 50 split in the country about approval or not of what the president has done so far. That tracked his approval in the country just generally. Whether or not his briefings are helping or hurting him in terms of the public. When i first started there was no question that people saw a commander in chief taking char charge, and i liked it. Theres been a drop in the last few weeks and part of it is i think the briefings, and some peoples minds anyway, that may have hurt them as much as ive helped them. Some of these briefings have had to gone on two hours. And bad wraps and various governors. Im not sure that the public at large, or at least part of the public that has doubts about donald trump anyway is enjoying that. Think about other crises, like 9 11 and the fact that there was a huge rally around the president , but that often happens in a crisis which is a tremendous support for the commander in chief. Are those questions raised about the president S Performance in the briefings . Offering his criticism of the president and now hes going to be a bit more careful as we are in the middle of a crisis. Hes doing it essentially from his basement in delaware. Its a fox poll on a choice for president. Joe biden 42 and donald trump 42 . Thats interesting. Because in all of our polls for months, biden had an eight or ninepoint lead and thats now gone. Its dead even between biden and the president. I wonder though, take it for what its worth, instead of this being a choice between the president and joe biden, as a lot of elections are, i kind of think that this election is going to end up being a referendum on President Trump and the handling of a coronavirus. As we get into october and september after labor day, i think people will make a judgment. And do we think they handle the Health Crisis well or do we think they handled the economic crisis well . And if they dont i dont see how they can win. Ed joe biden has to pick a running mate and he signaled it will be a woman this time around. I wonder if we tipped his hand a little one and a fundraiser he said im so lucky to have you, kamala harris, and we can make a great deal of progress. Im coming for you, kid. We seen joe biden get exuberant in the past and i think he likes her and i think he respects her. What i think she has going against her is that she is from california and joe biden, if any democrat cant win california on their own, they are in real trouble. They really dont help or hurt, and donald trump, and help deliver michigan and she would be worth it right there. Its a question of experience. There are people like Elizabeth Warren obviously, she helps in terms of getting Bernie Sanders supporters on board and again, you could argue that joe biden could get them on board running against donald trump. It will be fascinating to see, we will play this game a lot. My experience has been the high point of any Vice President ial nominee is the moment in which they are named. Sandra americans facing at least another month of isolation amid the pandemic. As social distancing and longterm separation continues putting a strain on American Families and those who live alone. Joining us to talk about the toll that isolation is having on some sports firefighter psychologist and Health Expert dr. Norman freda. Dr. Freda, thanks for being here. We really appreciate this. This is such an important aspect of this pandemic on the part that we are all playing and staying home. But staying home means isolation for some people and loneliness. Yes. Absolutely. Loneliness is something that is experienced by everyone of us throughout the world at this time. Most importantly its wise to remember that the social isolation is also creating feelings of irritability as well as uselessness and a feeling that we cannot effect change in the way we use to. Its very important that we find ways to maintain structure in our day, regulating our emotions and maintaining a sense that we are useful and needed by people who love us as well as by society in general. Sandra you know, as far as a work aspect of all of this is concerned, its one thing if you are sitting at home and you are lonely and isolated, but you are also not going to work in many cases and you lose that sense of purpose. Can you give those people something to think about, or a way that they can combat that feeling at home . Thats a wonderful question. Its important to remember that structure regulates our emotion so when we have order in our day we create a sense of purpose in our minds and purpose gives us a sense of contributing to the world. What i say to all people, both my patients and as well as when im on news media, get up in the morning as if its a typical day at work. Shower, get dressed, put on your power suit and a favorite and walk into the other room where you will prepare for what is next in your diet will mak day. If you dont have a job, it involved in projects. Think about what its going to be like. We must maintain structure and order in everything that we do and become more susceptible to malaise, and irritability. Sandra we all wonder what our new normal might look like after this. You heard chris and ed talking about restaurants, will they have to change the way tables and chairs are distance from each other . What will life look like after this pandemic . Whats interesting is, we dont realize that everyone of us is experiencing post dramatic stress. Ptsd is not just us being involved in combat and other countries in the trenches of war. Everyone of us is experiencing a lifethreatening event as a result, and when we go back into the world and reenter into to a community of life, we will find ourselves having a hypervigilance to the recurrence of danger. Do we have this fear that maybe it will catch us next. So finally we enter into the world. We find ourselves saying this is what we were told of. Another is we have this sense of shock or numbness, like we dont really feel if this is a new world. But more and partly its that shoe drop syndrome. Just because something is a possibility of happening doesnt mean it will. Sandra dr. Freda, because we so desperately needed at this time, leave us on a good note. We spoke to Surgeon General jerome adams and he said this is a good time to turn to meditation and prayer. As we get through this peak week which he said is no coincidence, its taking place during holy week. So many of us have children at home, they have questions, they have concerns. So leave us with a positive thought that we can all take home to our families. Thank you sandra, its so important that we have future and positive thinking as well. Lets recognize that we are in the middle of a passover holiday, today is good friday good friday, and ramadan. Its so important that we have physical but also spiritual connection. We have to have faith that we are part of a greater plan and that there is a higher power that is down our back so to speak and that we are all going to be okay. We dont know why bad things happen to any of us but we do know however that inside of these difficult days, it contains the seeds of spiritual and emotional growth, wealth and wisdom. Lets look for what we can learn from these dark days because light will shine again and when it does we will be stronger, wiser and more prepared to love one another in ways that we didnt before. Sandra thats a great note to leave off on. Dr. Norman freda, thanks for answering our questions this morning. Coming up this weekend, a program that you will not want to miss. This Easter Sunday i will be hosting a twohour special called america together, keeping the faith. Discussed the possibility of reopening the country when the administration does not have an adequate nationwide testing system for this virus. President trump we have a great testing system, right now the best testing system in the world. We are talking about 325 Million People and thats not going to happen as you can imagine, and it wouldnt happen with anyone else for sure. Other countries do it, but do it in a limited form. Mass testing for coronavirus will not happen in a country as large as america. But also touting the fact that 2 million americans have already been tested for the virus. Dr. Debbie is the director of metropolis Pain Medicine and author of coronavirus made simple. So how do we bridge that gap . Obviously you are probably not going to be able to test 325 Million People but there has to be a balance. There has to be a middle ground so that people are confident before they go back to work. I agree with you. I think ultimately everyone who wants the test needs to be able to get it in some form or another but there is a few variables in play. For example we could look at the industry of the economy, we could separated out by hot spots in terms of the country and we could also look at the type of test. Lets say for example in a place like new york where there is a very high chance of people ive been exposed to coronavirus, whether they realize it or not. In a place like dad, an Antibody Test to see if we can fight the virus or we can overcome it, that would be much more useful. If people have antibodies then they can generally they can safely return back to work and you would especially want that among essential workers and among people who are more vulnerable to the virus. If you look at a different area, root say wyoming for example or states that are less affected by coronavirus, if you are somebody who really hasnt had a lot of contact with people in weeks and you dont have any symptoms, you may not need to have the Antibody Test because its unlikely that you would have antibodies but you would at least want to have access to the tests that looks to see if you have the virus or not if you have symptoms. I think the testing ed but thats a more sparsely populated state and more spread out. The place like new york city that had so many cases, do you envision a scenario where businesses in may or june or whenever things get going again that people have their temperature taken on her way into a big building where thousands of people work . I can see it happening because its already starting but i dont know how effective that will be by itself. Many people dont have the fever when they have the coronavirus. So in a hot spot you could still have people testing positive that are moving back and forth that dont have fevers. But if you are in a place where the number of cases are a number of infection seems to be very low than it may seem like overkill to have everybody tested to see if they have a temperature as they move into the Grocery Store or any other public place. Ed absolutely. Ben carson was a surgeon before he became the housing secretary for President Trump and he made some interesting comments about something thats not highlighted often enough. The number of people who are getting better. Listen. One of the things we dont seem to talk about a lot are the number of people who have recovered which is going to be about 98 of all the people who got it. If we destroy the economic infrastructure of our country we are going to lose a lot more people than we lost from this virus. So we cant operate out of hysteria. Ed we also cant forget all the people who lost their lives. We have the Surgeon General on this morning who was talking about days ago how this week would be like pearl harbor, and sadly there have been a lot of people lost. But talk about ben carsons point about a lot of people are also recovering. And having a little trouble hearing you but i think you asked about the people who recovered. I think we have to focus on those folks because thats where the antibody will be critical. If they have the antibody than they can return to work. If they have clinically recovered, so lets say somebody how the virus and now they seem to be fine then we can have a lot more confidence in them returning. I think in terms of what ben carson was talking about with the economy, i agree. We had an Opioid Crisis before this and we had people struggling with depression and anxiety, thoughts of suicide in all kinds of other medical problems. We really need to help those folks overcome that because otherwise we will lose lives that way as well if we havent already. Ed is a final point on transitioning back to reopen the economy if you can steer here me, what do we need to do on testing . What steps do we need to take to deal with that testing gap . Well, we have to make sure that we can be confident of the accuracy of the test. If we have a test thats not accurate, its not going to be as helpful. Once you have that you have to scale it up so people can have access to it. We cant look at the testing in isolation, we also have to consider, we have other treatment and development. If a treatment becomes available thats relatively safe, then everyone may not need to have the test because i can just have the treatment and feel more confident. At the vaccine comes up first that may also impact how many people need the testing. These three things can be looked at in conjunction but with what we have now i would say the testing is important especially in places where you have hot spots. Ed great information, dr. Debbie, we appreciate it. Sandra . Sandra millions of americans with Student Loans are getting relief as part of the massive stimulus package. So who qualifies and how does that work . David has those answers for us. Good morning. Millions of students can finally breathe a sigh of relief during these uncertain times. They dont have to pay a dime on these Student Loans until october. This program runs through september 30th and as you mentioned, as part of thats federal stimulus act, its a coronavirus aid package. It suspends loan payments through the end of september, and that is the key. If the cares act encourages employers to make taxfree payments of up to 250 this year toward loan payments. Department of education making it easier for students by allowing a stop on payments retroactive to march 13th. Umass sr. Julianna casiano is one of those students with 40,000 in federal and state hearing her in the face. Listen. This has definitely been stressful for me, one of the more stressful things ive had to deal with in my life. Loan experts say there are 44 million student borrowers in the United States and agree the care package is a winwin. I was in it during 9 11 and in it during katrina and ive never seen such a significant relief package being offered to student loan borrowers. Sandrock, since julie is loans are federal laws shes eligible for this program. A lot of students with private loans unfortunately will have to work out something with their lender and with their bank. However those in new york state, department of Financial Services in new york state where you are announced they are working on people with private loans. Its a Rolling Program but students with fellow comic federal loans are eligible for this program. Sandra all very good information. Thank you david. Stocks are closed today because of the good friday holiday but it did close out its best we can decades. Take a look at this, the s p 500, 500 stocks and its not a snapshot of the broader stock market up 12. 1 for its best weekly finish since 1974. Cheryl casone is an anchor at a fbm. We will take that after so many weeks of up and down at the stock market, thats up pretty solid start to the upside. Into a half weeks, we talked about that before. As fast as this market fell from historic highs that can rebound again. And thats the big debate among wall Street Investors and bankers, whats a recovery going to look like not just for the economy but the markets. Remember the markets are looking ahead of the curve. Well, the big . Is it, when our business is going to reopen . Will it be may or june . Obviously this is on the advice of medical doctors and led by governors of all of the states each of which will have possibly their own plans. From a market perspective, you know, 2. 3 is astonishing trillion dollars, the injection from the fed yesterday that the markets god. Buried in that which no one is talking about is 600 trillion in the Lending Program for midsize businesses. We just keep talking about Small Businesses out there which obviously need as much help as they can get but midsize businesses can go to the bank and get assistance. And thats important because every little thing that the government and the fed is doing, as long as it can help businesses and help folks stay afloat thats a positive. Thats a market positive and in an American Economy positive. Sandra cheryl, one of the Big Questions was as i started a brandnew month where virtually all of the country wasnt shut down and several weeks after most of the country went into lockdown, what was going to happen when april 1st rolled around and rent was due . Utility payments were due . Heres a brandnew statistic. This is tracking 13. 4 million apartment units. 69 of households had paid their rent by april 5th compared to a year earlier where, by that point in time 82 would have paid. So you are looking at a third of renters who hadnt paid their rent on time by april. Yes, theres about 15 Million Units throughout the country so thats a big number and a lot of families out there. The bigger question obviously will be may 1st because remember the numbers that you are citing, most people are working for a good chunk of march. The country didnt really truly start to shut down until march 20th. So if you think about thats the april number, then the main number. A lot of these folks have heard the headlines and they watch fox news and they know about half the states across the country have said that you cannot evict people. A lot of people have been struggling, others have been trying to apply for unemployment but they been having issues getting through in several states. I think the may 1st a rental situation is going to be even tougher. And remember, these are did you know you can go out and buy an investment product that goes though mike owns a bunch of apartment rentals, you could probably get a good deal on that if you think about it. Sandra well it sends waves through the economy, because you if you are not paying rent on the landlords arent making their mortgage on that building and it has a ripple effect. Cheryl casone, thank you. Ed is coming up, we are all missing sports, especially this legendary basketball coa march madness that was not to be. But there he is. How does a longtime coach like you deal with what might have been. I will be honest, we all need to be thinking where we are right now, im not spending much time there. At this curve has been pushed down because of our people. All of us. Listening to the scientists, coming together and being about other people. It has brought this country together. You are looking at areas that they said would be exploding on the people in those areas are saying, no. And the more we do together to push this down, the more time we will give to the scientists to come up with a vaccine. The more time we are giving to the health care givers. Sandra good morning to you ed and everyone, im sandra smith. Over 466,000 confirmed cases in the United States with more than 16,000 deaths. New york reporting and Record Number of deaths for the third day in a row. While the World Health Organization is set to address the media have virtually later today. Here is u. S. Surgeon general dr. Jerome adams. Join us earlier on the program talking about the impact of the virus throughout the country. This will be different in different places. Every yea everywhere will have a different curve. And so we arent going to be able to say as a nation that a particular thing is happening. But whats promising is we seem like we are hitting a peak in terms of deaths for the country and we dont want people to think that that means they are off the hook. Because some places have not yet hit their peak. Sandra now to David Lee Miller who is live at mount sinai hospital in new york city. Good morning, sandra. As of now there are more than 18,000 patients being treated in hospitals across the state including here at mount sinai which is on new yorks upper east side. In order to accommodate the greatest number of patients, this hospital has now constructed temporary facilities in its entryway. Some of the most seriously ill patients here are receiving blood plasma from people who have recovered from the virus. Its a test of an existing treatment that has been successful in treating a number of other diseases and its still too early if it to tell if its working for those suffering from the virus. The first one was not even two weeks ago or a week and a half ago. We are hopeful that this will be helpful through these patients and we are tracking them incredibly carefully for their clinical progress. Statewide the number of hospitalizations is trending down but the number of fatalities increased to a Record Number for the third day in a row. In order to cope with the death toll, Governor Andrew Cuomo says the state is bringing in additional funeral directors. Most of the cases of the coronavirus in new york state are here in new york city. On this good friday the city appears to be at a virtual standstill. Underscoring that, the head of the Transit Authority says the subway system here which is usually jampacked is now operating at less than 7 its normal capacity. Back to you. Sandra its really something to see the streets that empty. David lee miller, back to you. Ed the death toll is rising sharply in new york. More than 7,000 people have died here from coronavirus but theres some good news. New york also sing the smallest increase in people hospitalized since the beginning of the stayathome order. They assigned that social distancing is in fact working. Lets bring in Fox News Contributor dr. Marc siegel. Good morning doctor. Good morning, i had. How are you . Im fantastic. It seems like maybe we are starting to flatten the curve. Do you think we are . I think we are from all of these measures of staying at home and washing your hands and staying away on sheltering in place, i talked to dr. Tony fauci about this in an interview and made the point that maybe all this technology is helping us. Historically quarantines were plus and minus, because of fear and supply lines being cut off but because of our iphones, and social media, things that ive always criticized we are now getting huge advantages sheltering at home. Now the reason you are seeing the death toll still rising to 800, while at the same time the number of depot hospitalizing is decreasing to only 200 over the past day which is a new alltime low for this period of time. Heres the reason. 1500 people in new york state are still on ventilators. Unfortunately, by the time you reach that stage of this disease that your lungs are and those struggling to save cant always succeed. The hospital cases means an overall trend of cases in the community. Chairman paul says they dont want to see a false start where they reopen the economy and then more cases comeyou saw the projy
