Youre absolutely right and theres some uneasiness among some of the president s adversaries about this twitter decision to deplatform the president. Look, theyre in favor of it. They would like to see trump not have this enormous platform that he had with twitter and at the same time, they worry about the future and the precedent that this says if. Twitter can remove the president platform they can remove somebody elses platform and doing it quite a bit and could have big political implications in the future. Jon right because, you know, these Big Tech Companies are primarily run by, you know, west coast liberals and if they dont like conservative voices, you know, who is to say they dont shut down everybody that has political ideas or ideology that they dont agree with. And we just heard about these section 230 protections. Which are absolutely critical for social media because they claim theyre not like a publisher. Theyre a neutral platform and theyre not responsible for the content of the postings on their platform and therefore, they cant be sued like a publisher can for what is published. Then a lot of republicans long before this latest trump development wanted to get rid of section 230 for social media. Remember President Trump wanted to include a section in the Defense Authorization act getting rid of section 230. Well i think what were gong hear from the president not on twitter, but in the next week or so, is a lot of advocacy of getting rid of section 230 and you just heard a little bit from Lindsey Graham going to be the ranking republican on the Senate Judiciary committee saying the same thing. Jon meantime, a lot of people who grew unhappy with twitter turned to parler conservatives like what it was offering. Now, google has taken parler off app store it is equivalent of the app store because they dont like the way it was or wasnt policing its audience. Its users. Now why is that googles decision how parler this app lets people on and express themselves. Right, and apple was threatening parler on platforms as well. This really made a lot of conservatives think, that big tech was really ganging up against them because if you remember, weve had these debates about twitter for quite a long time and a lot of republicans and conservatives have said twitter is bias against them and some people on the left said you dont like it form your own platform and indeed that is what parler is and at the same time you saw big tech taking action against President Trump and some other people in his circle you saw them also taking action against parler conservatives said boy this is stacked against us. Our family, our neighbors jon its my understanding that new york has received about a little less than half a million doses of the vaccine. But only 23 of the states Health Care Workers and those eligible at Nursing Homes have actually received their initial doses. Whats the holdup . Well jon this is quite an arduous process that wires strategic planning, coordination, organization, and you have to have people that have time to put in to learn how to give the shot to educate patients you need people with skills to have the staff. You need to make sure you have the vaccine so theres a lot of logistical issues that are involved but fortunately i was superexcited to see that on monday were going to be expanding what weve already started. Yes, we inoculated about a quarter of americans but starting on mondays were able to expand eligibility to Police Officers, to teachers, to firefighters, other first respond, transit safety officers, those who are 75 and older and this is so important because we have to vaccinate for impact thats a paramount importance especially with the dismal death rate that we have there and 4,000 deaths day. Also superexcited to see that if you recall the Javits Center which we once used as a covid make shift Hospital Next Week will be used as a max vaccinationer in so moving in the right direction we need to pick up the pace. Jon Trump Administration shipped out 20 million vaccine doses, but the states have only given out a little less than 6 million. Theres been so much drengted at the administration over covid and if theyre sending out that many doses and states arent getting them into peoples arms thats not the administrations fault, is it . Well, i think once we have it here, the state in the local level it is our responsibility to get it into the arms of our community. Get it into the arms of patients. Again, it requires planning, it requires appointment it is requires organization, it requires reaching out to Awareness Education those in the community and making sure that we dont penalize clinics and Health Care Centers and hospitals if for example they have extra dose or two available what do we do that we dont want it to go to waste give it to next person that is Eligibility Group right away so we dont waste those doses. So theres so much we can do and we need to really consider eliminating any restrictions any personalities or fines. Theres one clinic that had extra doses sitting in freezer. For about two weeks but fearful to give it because of the fear of fines that may be put upon them from the state. So i think if we just allow for some more flexibility, and for more staffing, education well be able it get all of those used up. Jon new york Governor Cuomo threatened to fine clinics and hospitals a Million Dollars and if they vaccinate somebody who is not on his vaccination list that seems crazy. Yeah. But i see now that they are loosening the restrictions and expanding the eligibility which is a step in the right direction now that we understand weve got to get these vaccinations used.
