Good diagnosis. Ah yes. And pie the way, the Washington Nationals tonight. Thanks for inviting us into your home tonight. Thats it for this special report. Is this the only way to wipe isis off the face of the planet . You have to hear what the top military office just told the u. S. Senate. Plus senator Lindsey Graham, and others, do any of them agree with the president s isis plan . All here to go on the record. Right now the big news from todays critical Armed Services committee hearing. This will not be an easy or a brief effort. It is complicated. We are at war with isil, as we are with al qaeda. Im not confident how this is going to happen without the assistance of our trained special operators on the ground here. My view at this point is that
this coalition is the appropriate way forward. I believe that will prove true. But if it fails to be true and if there are threats to the United States, then i of course would go back to the president and make a recommendation that may include the use of u. S. Military ground forces. If the objective were to destroy isis, not to degrade them but to destroy them within 90 days, what would be required militarily to carry that out . Its not possible, senator. Truly, there is no military solution to isil. Is it fair to say that most syrians have two things in common, they dont like isil and they dont like assad. Most syrians . I agree. Is it fair to say that most muslims reject what isil does in the name of their religion . Yes. Is it fair to say that if we dont contain this threat and eventually destroy it, that it gets worse over time and a year from now, if theyre still flourishing in syria and this coalition hadnt come about,
america is in danger more in danger of a major attack than we are today . Yes. And senator Lindsey Graham joins us. Nice to see you, sir. Thank you. After todays hearing, you had a chance to question the general and also secretary of defense hagel. Do you understand the Obama Administrations strategy . I am absolutely dumbfounded as to what were doing and why, but i do believe this, destroying isil is the right goal. That if we dont destroy them, they will get stronger and hit us here at home. Its just not about iraq and syria. I just dont know how we destroy isil given what i heard today. What did you hear today . What did general dempsey tell you and secretary hagel tell you is how the Obama Administration intends to destroy in iraq, we use the kurdish forces. We regenerate the iraqi army thats fallen apart. We pull the sunni arab tribes away from isil and hit them
inside of iraq. Let me stop you right there. The sunni people are not wild about the iraqi forces. No, theyre not wild about isil either. Well, but theyre more can i just tell you what they said. The way you win in iraq is you reconstitute the iraqi army from the south. You have the sunni tribes in the west, abandon isil and fight with us, fight with the iraqi army and you have the kurds hit them from up north. Then ask them about syria. Twothirds of isil is in syria, not iraq. So to destroy isil you have to hit them in syria and this is where it all fell apart for me. Theres supposed to be a mythical arab army formed sometime in the near future that will go in on the ground and destroy isil without any substantial u. S. Help. I dont believe thats possible. And the worst outcome is to send an arab army into syria and isil beat them. Whos this arab army that the two Witnesses Today said was forming . Well, i dont know who they
are. The free syrian component is part of it. Im all for training free syrian army, but it would take a lifetime to train enough of them to defeat isil. Youve got turkey, youve got egypt, saudi arabia, youve got forces in the region. Im all for using those foerksz but i dont want to be unrealistic to the American People. I dont see how a large arab army without substantial american support can defeat isil. If we lose to isil in syria, theyre not destroyed, they actually come out of this thing stronger. Do you have a sense today that you got military strategy answers or politics . This is the key. The strategy the president has adopted was made up by him, not our military. This is not a military plan. This is this military strategy wont destroy isil, its designed to protect the promises made by president obama as a politician. The military must be pulling their hair out tonight. Theyre in a box created by our president. This is not rational and it all
goes back that hes stubborn, hes vain and hes been incompetent. Hes going to continue this fight against isil in a fashion where it goes longer than it should and more people get killed than necessary. He is that stubborn. To president bushs credit, he understood that his approach to iraq was falling apart and he abandoned it and replaced it with a new strategy. President obama cannot admit to himself that what hes done in the past is not working. The worst thing a commander in chief can do, i believe, to send American Forces into a ballottl where they cant win. Thats what were asking of our military, to fight isil in a fashion that they cant win. Nice to see you, sir. And ambassador john boem says the time for u. S. Combat troops on the ground is right now. Weve had witness testimony today, general dempsey and secretary hagel. Your thoughts tonight. I think the strategy is
incoherent. Lets try to do this as a matter of logic. n mortal threat to the United States, then your conclusion must be that our objective should be to destroy it. And if you believe that the objective is to destroy it, we should find a way to do it in the quickest possible time with the minimum number of american casualties. The longer we wait, the greater the possibility that isis can consolidate its control over the territory it now has and that the ultimate cost in american or allied lives will be much higher. They dont have a state yet but theyre working on it. It seems to me and senator Lindsey Graham just spoke about it, twothirds of isis is thought to be in sear yachlt the president s plan is addressed to iraq. There doesnt seem to be much of a plan as relates to twothirds of isis which is in syria. Every day they get bigger. The whole idea is if we support the rebels against isis, you know, weve got the armies that were helping president assad who
gases his people. I dont pretend to have the answer, but isis is in syria. Weve got multiple opponents in a complex struggle. I dont think we should do anything to build up agents of iran like the assad regime or the baghdad government. If we destroy isis inevitably their power will be enhanced because one of their adversaries will be defeated. And if we do nothing and isis grows in syria . Then the threat to the United States will grow. So both lousy choices. The issue is how do you deal with the mortal threat to the United States. I believe it is a huge mistake to place the safety of the hands of the United States in terms of troops on the ground in the hands of the iraqi army, the free syria opposition, the sunnis of western iraq or the kurds. Thats why you need americans now. Look, if this is in syria. Yes, of course. Boots on the ground in syria. There is no border between iraq and syria anymore. Isis has erased it. If we dont take this into account, we will inevitably lose. The fact is that putting American Safety in the hands of others who have failed before, like the iraqi army for god sakes is going to endanger us and cost us more in terms of american lives down the road. If people dont think isis is a real threat to the United States, then stand up and say so. Because if thats true, its not worth any american lives. All right. What do we do about assad . I think you leave assad in place. Ive long believed assad is a sideshow. The real problem is the regime in iran. My viewpun is the only solution regime change in tehran. First we have to deal with isis because its the threat in the near term. The longterm threat is a nuclear iran, the worlds central bank of international terrorism. The president has no strategy to deal with iran. His own director of national
intelligence said earlier this year the sanctions have failed to stop the iranian or even slow down the Iranian Nuclear weapons program. Ambassador, nice to see you. Thank you. The u. S. Now expanding its fight against isis in iraq. Yesterday the u. S. Conducting its first offensive air strike. The strike was southwest of baghdad. Still some critics say president obama is ignoring the advice of his generals. Is he . Good evening, sir. Good morning. Of course you have a military background i like to point out. Is the president ignoring his generals or doing exactly what his generals want . Well, we can just look at what they have said publicly. In 2010 the president asked general austin, who was the leader of the u. S. Forces in the middle east, what was the right course of action to deal with isis and the threat in the region. The general requested not only that troops be allowed to remain in iraq to preserve the gains that we had made but also route 24,000 troops that would be required to deal with the growing threat of isis. The president not only rejected that, but as you know fully withdrew from iraq and declared victory, and we are now seeing five years later the effect of the obama policies, the obama doctrine, if you will, which is basically stick your head in the sand and rpretend all the problems are going away and theyre just getting worse. So do you assign the growing of isis on president obamas failed policy . I think theres no question that had we dealt with this growing threat a year ago or two years ago as many members of congress have been pushing for, they would not be the threat they are today or control the land mass they control today. Nobody believes that the strategy that the president has laid out will fully destroy and remove isis from the region. What would you do . Well, i think that as ambassador bolton outlined, if you believe it is an immediate threat to our allies and eventually threat to the United States, then the only answer is to completely destroy and eradicate them. The only way that happens is with men and women from the United States military on the ground in combat. We cannot do it exclusively through air power. None of the commanders that came before us in our classified briefings and others have suggested that. And so at the end of the day, this is basically a strategy to hold them. Tread water . To stop them from gaining more grounding. But at the endb1ln of the day s not a winning strategy. The fundamental question that we have to stop and ask ourselves is the question that the 9 11 Commission Report asked us. Is america and its allies capturing, killing and dissuading more people in the war on terror than the rad recr pulling into the war on terror . And right now without question, our military commanders and anyone whos watching the situation understands theyre winning this war. Isis is growing at a faster rate than their opposition is and the men and women that the president
right now plans to try and train will be a pittance compared to the fighters that isis we know already has and the recruitment tool that simply america getting involved becomes. The fact that were going to be over there training handfuls of people at a time will only add to the recruitment tool. And its too little too late. But the short story for us is we dont get to play commander in chief as members of congress. If what hes asking for we believe isnt sufficient, i think we have a responsibility at the end of the day to still give him what hes asking for but at the same time say up front, mr. President , with all due respect, based on the testimony given by your own commanders, you need to follow what they say, which is to put troops on the ground in a full force attack. Listen to colin powell, the man who endorsed him for president , who said during the gulf war he was also the man who went before the u. N. And said there was weapons of mass destruction on february 5th, 2003. So im talking about how you win a war. No, no, but he doesnt come
out some baggage himself. I would say he knows how to win a war. We did pretty well in the gulf war. Anyway, always nice to see you. And what was president obama thinking . Critics including ambassador john bolton slamming the president for giving advice to isis. Heres a president who had advice for isil. Pin notes to the victims instead of beheading them, we would react differently. I am thunderstruck. They dont respond to pinning notes. It seems inappropriate to be strategizing on behalf of your enemy. What could the president have been thinking . Does he have any more advice for isis. Joining us is jim gar tee, Karen Tumulty and rick kline. He keeps saying all sorts of things everyone hits him over the head with. I wasnt in that meeting and i im not inside his head. But it struck me as a comment that he was making because he realized that the public was geared up for this. They were very frightened by the videos that came out and even theyre willing to go further than he was in terms of air strikes cns syria. They said in our poll last week that more than half the country thought he was acting too cautiously, too slowly. It seems to me a measure of frustration with the fact public support was getting away from him and pushing him into an action he wasnt sure he was ready to take. I thought it was interesting, i assume the president never thought these comments would become public but he has this tendency, you know, this was not a gathering of white house beat reporters. He likes to bring in columnists and people who write opinion and then sort of conduct these sort of experiments and so i think it was, again, it was an odd comment. It was not president ial. But it was sort of going to this tendency on the president s part
of, again, he likes to conduct these kinds of he talks a lot about whats going on in his head. Maybe he never thought it would become public, his pictures of him playing golf either. Its like this is what he does, this is what he thinks. Lets hope this is kind of a momentary daydream on the part of the president. He doesnt spend a lot of time thinking, well, if i were advising isis, heres what id tell him. Its not like fdr said i would have said blow up the fuel tanks but dont shoot at the ships because that wouldnt have provoked the American People quite so much. Mr. President , youre not advising isis. Youre supposed to be on our side and thinking about what we should be doing to stop them. Does that give us insight to what he thinks, how success. His policy is. He thinks that the policy of the air strikes and im hoping that hes right on this, but thats going to all of a sudden provoke the terrorists to surrender the kidnapped victims an
oh, look, you know what, i dont think i dont think he was on isis side when he said that. I definitely dont think that. But i do think hes frustrated by this. Its gotten to a point where they can make this big, public show and its a pretty easy thing for them to do compared to the splashy terrorist attacks weve seen in the past and its provoking a huge response. I know hes frustrated but actually i suspect the American People want clarity, even if hes privately frustrated. I think we want the message of this clarity, not that hes sitting around thinking about it. If thats the case, general dempseys testimony today didnt really add to that in that he, you know, again in hypotheticals talked about the possibility that he could at some point go to the president and ask for u. S. Forces to be put in a combat role and then we had a statement come out of the
administration after that to sort of clarify, which means roll back what the commander of the joint chiefs said. We had the president say that about managing isis. We had secretary of state kerry saying we werent at war, now hes saying we are at war. Theres an awful lot of rollback. Every time we Say Something we get media releases saying what they really meant to say. Can i just say i do hope that this debate in Congress Might bring some clarity. Yeah, congress clarifies things generally. Look, the consequences for misspeaking or going too far on a topic like Affordable Care act, obamacare or stimulus, thats one thing. In matters of war, life and death, the consequence when allies are listening, when foes are listening, the consequences of not being careful and clear in your statements have much higher consequences. All right, panel, stay with us. Right now the Obama Administration racing against the clock trying to convince congress to support the president s isis strategy but lawmakers on both sides of the
aisle expressing doubts. Joe manchin is here next. Also new fears of a jihad right here in america. Tonight we investigate evidence in the murder of a new jersey teenager. The Obama Administration is running out of time to Sell Congress on the president s proposal to arm moderate Syrian Rebels to fight isis, and so far the administration getting some resistance from both sides of the political aisle. One of the democrats expressing some doubt, senator joe manchin and he joins us. Nice to see you, sir. Nice to be here, greta. So youre opposed to boots on the ground, right . Yep. What about arming moderate rebels . I think its a flawed direction to go. If we learned nothing from the last 13 years weve been in that part of the world, we spent eight years building up a 280,000 person army, paying for it, 20 billion of american tax dollars. The first time that the iraqi army was challenged, they turned and left all the weapons to the enemy. So not knowing who and being able to vet. I know people have been saying we know who they are, that hasnt proven to be so. For some reason we dont get a grasp that their religious convictions and commitments are much stronger than what we would ever be able to understand. And theyre all committed to fighting assad. Were going to go in and say guess what, were going to carve out 5,000 of you. Were going to train you, arm you, pay you and then we want you to turn right and take on isis for us and then yall can
take on assad later. None of this makes sense. The only thing were short of is the people we train and arms we give them will be used against us at some time enter so what is the option . I think basically i support first of all, i applaud the president for taking the pos xrcr he took. At least he came out strong and had a position. He was strong and resolved in that. Many would disagree with that, by the way. I know they do. But thats the strongest ive seen. At least he laid out and i know exactly where he wanted to go. I agree with the air attacks. I believe using our tactical our air superiority, all of the things that we have to our advantage should be used. With that, theres support that goes with that also. Going in and trying to figure out and putting boots on the ground and getting drawn back in, i believe the ground game, the ground war should be taken on by the arabs and the muslims. Suppose they dont. Weve started the air strikes. Support for whatever reason they dont. You mean nobody else nobody rises up to protect
themselves . Right, right, right. So were sitting there 30,000 feet dropping bombs and doing air strikes and they dont do anything on the ground. 1400 years of history has proven theyll fight each other. And theyll leave us alone . Im not saying leave us alone, but the bottom line is they have been occupied and they seem to be fighting because they cant agree, whether youre shia, whether youre sunni, the kurds. They all have a different direction theyre going. They want to be seen to be in their own conclave, if you will. And if they fight each other, weve got so many people who for humanitarian youre killing christians, nonchristians, children, theyre beheading, you know. No, you dont stand by and see that. I understand. Im not saying its easy. You know, its not easy at all. Its not like we havent tried. 1. 6 trillion weve spent, 60 some odd lives that weve lost. Are we there in perpetuity . Is that what its going to be . There has to be somebody standing up. You have the saudis who have done very well. Should they not engage . Will they engage . Should the turks not engage . Yes, they should, but will they . Well, not as long as they can count on us to step in. I think sooner or later theyre going to have to step up. They dont want these people in their backyard. Even the al qaeda have said theyre too barbaric for them. Sooner or later people are going to say are they going live under that type of threat . I dont think so. It never has happened in history. Sooner or later people have said enough is enough. But as long as we have the americans there willing to shed blood for them, i think theyll stand by and let us do it. Very tough question. Senator, always nice to see you, sir, thank you. Thank you. Has the jihad come to america . A new jersey teenager gunned down and the murder suspect now making a chilling confession. Was the murder of a popular new jersey teen revenge for syria and iraq . Back in june, Brendan Tevlin was shot to death in his car. Investigators first describing the crime as a robbery and murder, but now a shocking twist. New information. The murder suspect says he killed tevlin in cold blood as an act of vengeance, retaliation for the u. S. Muslims in the midd. Reporter this is the face of
domestic terrorism, a savage killer claiming holy jihad across the country. His latest attack, destroying a family and shattering a quiet suburban town. Brendan tevlin was hanging out with friends playing video games. Texted his mother saying he was on his way home, never made it. He was at this Traffic Light and this is when it went down. The 19yearold killed, murdered in cold blood in this new jersey suburb. He got out of the car, approached Brendan Tevlin on the passenger side of his suv. Shot him through the rolledup passenger side window. Ten times. Reporter the brutal murder seems senseless, even random. But Court Documents show that the killer was motivated by holy jihad in seening vengeance for what he claims are innocent lives lost in iraq, afghanistan, syria and iran. He underwent jihadist training in california in april. Police arrived on the scene in west
orange, new jersey, tevlins body was nowhere to be found. This is where he got into the drivers seat and drove the body to. This parking lot of this apartment complex. Reporter brown had two accomplices, one of which lived with his parents in these apartments. But when we knocked on the door, the father wouldnt talk to us. Police found brendans body inside his grandfathers suv but they had no idea who had committed the act. Police ended up finding out it was brown because the bullets that were used were the same bullets used in a double homicide in seattle. And tonight ali brown is facing murder charges in seattle and new jersey. Tomorrow the parents of Brendan Tevlin will be right here to go on the record. So who was Brendan Tevlin . Here again, our griff jenkins. Brendan was truly the kid who every parent wanted their kid to
be. Every friend wanted their best friend to be. Every girlfriend wanted their boyfriend to be. He truly was a light in a dark world. Reporter brendan was only 19 years old. His entire life ahead of him. He was the allamerican golden boy. He was a straight a student, he was a lacrosse player, he surfed down at the jersey shore, he used to tarp surf with his friends for fun. He was also a bagpiper. He comes from a very welltodo family, very well established in this community. Reporter brendan was a lot of things, popular, likeable, smart. Brendan was a great student. Loved by his teachers, loved by his coaches. Reporter he loved sports, a leader on his lacrosse team, something that his teammates are still talking about. I think just my first day i showed up at practice. I was one of a few kids who werent seton hall prep kids and brendan came up and introduced himself. I thought that was kinda weird. I then realized that brendan was
the kind of kid that saw that i felt uncomfortable and he wanted me to feel more comfortable. I cant say enough about him. Reporter but for this 19yearold, such a tragic ending for an all american kid who was also a star off the field. He was just a bright young man, a friendly young man. People were attracted to him because he was such a good, young fella. He truly cared about each and every person he met. He made an effort to make sure you knew that he cared about you and you couldnt help but smile when you looked at him. He always had a smile on his face, always had something positive to say. He was a great kid and its a tragedy. A special thanks to chase, new jerseys wwor tv for helping in our on the record investigation. Sebile is one of the few reporters to cover this story from the beginning. Okay, lets all go off the
record for a mikt. Brendan tevlin, you just saw the story right here. Before you did, had you ever heard of brendan . If not, blame the police, your government and the media. So far no big National Headlines and the government certainly is not talking about it, but we all should be. And it isnt just because brendan was 19, a good kid with lots of hopes and dreams who was viciously murdered in his car at a Traffic Light on june 25th and whose family is, of course, now devastated, but its because brendans murder may be islamic extremists, an act of jihad right here in the United States, in new jersey. Who says that . Ali Mohammed Brown says that. Hes 29, hes been charged in brendans murder and three additional murders in washington state. Ali Mohammed Brown has confessed to the kidllings saying they wee in revenge for iraq and syria. Right now its unclear whether ali Mohammed Brown is making that up or not, was acting alone or part of an extremist group. We only know what he is saying
and it is alarm. Alarming enough americans need answers. Were going to hear from brendans parents right here tomorrow night at 7 00 p. M. Eastern, and thats my off the record comment tonight. In the fivestar Ritz Carlton Hotel in atlanta. The alleged abusive husband, a federal judge from alabama. Okay, with yourself and who else . Im calling, i need help. Whats your name . Kelli now the judge is allowing hes appearing and allowing him to enter a Pretrial Diversion Program without having to admit
to dwiguilt. He could have the incident expunged from his record and he could return to the bench. Joining us katie fang and ted williams. Ted . You know, this is troublesome but what youve got here is a federal judge, and what you need and our viewers need to understand is a federal judge has a lifetime tenure. And he cannot be removed unless hes impeached by the congress and the senate, and that, unfortunately, is not going to happen for beating your wife. And he did beat this woman. They went in that room, they found her with a cut lip, her hair in disarray. She was brutally assaulted and guess what, she was charged with a misdemeanor. Thats the ray rice treatment, you get charged with a misdemeanor so you can go into these Diversion Programs and have no record. Katie, your thoughts on the good judge, i say with tongue in cheek. Well, you know what, i think that its problematic that hes not looking at impeachment. I think that people need to realize that although theres a difference between a misdemeanor and a felony, domestic battery is something thats very serious. The Pretrial Diversion Program hes been accepted into puts him into 24 weeks of a program. He goes to a Substance Abuse class, does some counseling. Not only are the charges dismissed, greta, but theyre expunged immediately. Here in florida you actually have to have a file a motion to expunge your arrest, and its as if it never happened, which is shocking. The scary thing about this particular federal judge is he has a history, allegedly, of domestic battery, Substance Abuse, drug abuse. If you look at his prior divorce filings in 2012, same allegations. All right. I think theres some sort of evidence he was at a very ritzy hotel but apparently he says that she confronted him. She said he was having an affair with a law clerk and then all hell broke loose. I might add that he said according to the Police Report he was lying in bed watching cnn
when it started. He wasnt watching fox news. The Police Report says he was watching cnn. Well, fox news has better characters on. But the bottom line is this was a man who brutally beat a woman and hes now going to get away with it. And that is the sad commentary of what we now find in society when we look at the ray rice and all of these other kinds of incidents, greta. We only have 30 seconds left, but hes never going to get impeached because hes in this Diversion Program but wouldnt you think hed have some sort of personal pride as an officer of the court and member of the bar to maybe step aside . He needs to govern himself better than what he does, greta. Hes a member of the judiciary. He presides over cases, both civil and criminal, wherein theres a determination as to a defendants criminal guilt or the liability of a civil party. He has a huge burden that he has to carry, but he has to do is
honorably. And you know what, if youre going to live your life in public service, youre going to live your private life in public scrutiny. And somebody like this judge needs to realize that if you have filings in your divorce case that basically state, you know, that youve been duiing with your kids in the car, and you know whats sore did about this, greta, is the fact that the bailiff that he allegedly had an affair with that caused the end of his first marriage is kelli fuller. Now they fought over the fact he was having an affair with a law clerk. That was the reason for the first divorce. So this guy clearly has some issues. So its really important that he cleans his act up because hes well on the road to disaster at this point. Well, he sets a bad example for young people as well. Katie and ted, thank you both. And tomorrow, a number one, the first public hearing of the
Benghazi Select Committee. The report of a secret mission to get rid of documents that could be damaging to secretary of state Hillary Clintons state departme department. Stay tuned. Tomt Benghazi Select Committee is holding its first hearing. Tonight were hearing from the chairman talking about explosive allegations from a former state Department Diplomat accusing Staff Members of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton of secretly removing politically damaging documents before turning over the files to the accountability review board. Heres what chairman goudy told fox news. I also met with mr. Maxwell. These are very serious allegations, they are just that, allegations. He deserves an opportunity to say what his perspective was and
i deserve the right on behalf of my fellow citizens who ask him who else was present. Who can corroborate or contradict your account of what happened, but make no mistake, chad, the allegation is incredibly serious. So to the extent that people were accused of things that were improper, they deserve the right to defend themselves and give their perspective and he deserves the right and my fellow citizens deserve the opportunity to hear from all of them and they can judge who they believe is telling the truth and who isnt. Jim, that sounds pretty much like a lawyer giving someone a presumption of innocence, waiting to hear. Actually kind of reassures me to see republicans you know, this is an explosive allegation but it is only an allegation. I dont know if it necessarily helps republicans or those of us who feel like we havent gotten the whole story on benghazi to seize every allegation that confirms our story line that hillary is the villains and hiding the truth. Its very possible that happened but i dont want to see
grandstanding from this panel tomorrow. I dont think youre going to get that, do you, rick . If chairman gowdy wanted to grandstand, that was his chance. I agree with that. Ive even heard positive things about democrats about how seriously hes taking the role. I think this is exactly why when you see chairman gowdy handling it like this, well see how it goes. This is why Speaker Boehner turned to him, he knew he would approach it like a prosecutor, look at the evidence. Try to stay calm about it. Jim is right, there may be something out there, but everything isnt true. You have to weed through that. And the first day is going focus on the degree to which the state department has acted on the recommendations to make sure that this problem, that this kind of situation never happens again. I think that is exactly the place to start these hearings, because its something that i think, you know, both parties can agree is worth studying. He wants to make sure that i mean thats sort of the real cautious approach. I assume later at some point hes going to dig behind it. At first glance thats the safe topic. So what have you done since
benghazi. Its not really a safe topic, its the responsible topic. Before we get to the plit tal food fight lets make sure all our embassies are safe. If anything hasnt been done, doesnt that become a new scandal of the state department of after benghazi they havent enacted any of these reforms so that could potentially be a news headline coming out of there. Or maybe they have enacted every last detail and everything is fine. But what are the odds of that . I think some of the problems at some of these embassies is flatout money and resources. Im sure thats the case and some of the recommendations get at that in addition to management issues. But look, i think theres a big opportunity here for chairman gowdy to take away all of the noise, all of the allegations and establish facts. And if he does a good job on this committee and has the democrats cooperating with the investigating ending of it, then i think you end up having something thats a takeaway. We get so jaded here that you expect everything will be a political witchhunti. If you say weve learned lessons, we havent learned lessons, were going to take an objective look at it, thats positive. And hes got control of his committee tomorrow. For the moment. But there are at this point at least three, am i right here, organizations, democratic aligned organizations that are already sort of gearing up to be out there and just basically say everything is old news. So well see how long they can sort of stay on the high road here. Well see. So day number one starts tomorrow. Panel, thank you. Thanks, greta. And tomorrow night the chairman of the Benghazi Select Committee will join us right here to go on the record. Get ready for this war, the ad war. It just broke out between Mitch Mcconnell and his democratic opponent, Allison Lundergan grimes. She goes after both leader mcconnell and president obama. Im not barack obama. I disagree with him on guns, coal and the epa. And, mitch, thats not how you hold a gun. And now leader mcconnell firing back. Alison grimes thinks shooting a gun will convince you shes not like barack obama. But grimes twice supported obamas platform for obamacare. For the war on coal, for obamas Foreign Policy and ironically for gun control. Oh, and you know who also did a publicity stunt firing a gun . Barack obama.
