Essentially if you have seen the pictures, its a beautiful picturesque place where essentially sits on a cliff area. There are a number of bridges in that area you could go on foot to these areas. They are keeping an eye on anybody would want to make a quick getaway in or out of the city. You do have the river, number of ridges that create access coming in and leaving that area. Also, the maple leafs are in that area set to play a game tonight, they are on lockdown. The nhl may cancel that game, not a priority with Everything Else they are dealing with. Very heavy monitoring. There is something of the fact Ottawa Police have confirmed multiple shooting locations and perhaps multiple suspects to divert the attention over relatively wide area. You have got to have multiple officers and multiple scenes. That, we may find out, was by design. Joining us once again on the phone from the scene, christopher. Christopher, we just got the word from the Associated Press Canadian Police are confirming shots were fired at the mall near parliament. Is that your understanding . That is my understanding. There is an update on the shooter, he went apparently by foot from the war memorial to parliament to the Center Building of Parliament Hill. You cannot take a vehicle onto Parliament Hill, security is pretty tight around there, smile understanding is he was on foot. Jon it would appear the person who shot the soldier is now dead because the gunman who enter the Parliament Building we understand was engaged by police and was killed. This update on that as well. It wasnt police who shot him, it was the sergeant of the house of commons, a former officer reportedly shot the gunman. Shannon we have heard reports from that, that individual is the one who stepped up and shot him. Jon we are going to take you back to the coverage now from grn reporting reporters are being pushed away essentially from the Parliament Building, lets listen in to global news now. Chris, we know malls are targets for terrorists. They are. Anybody in that area, i would take sure you exit the mall very quickly. Dont rise suspicion to yourself, but you want to get out of that area. Dont run, you dont want to create a panic. If you do see something that could cause concern, locate the closest Police Officer or security personnel, let them know. Q njau ing have to make sure whn you are exiting, find somewhere that you can get coverage in case you hear gunshots. If you can put this in your mind, Parliament Hill next to the rito center. Are you surprised . It is kind of surprising to me they didnt evacuate the rito center immediately. Im not going to speculate right now what they were thinking because they did have a lot of gunfire up on Parliament Hill. I dont know what the attendance was today. On any given day there are hundreds of people working that building, so you have active shots being fired. I heard a report today 25 to 30 shots. A lot of resources poured into that. We are seeing some movement and our ottawa camera. Tom clark obviously moving. We hear you, tom. You are on, go ahead. Obviously police have been telling people to get away from the scene. This is the camera live. Chris, this is a fluid situation, obviously. How far are they going to push people back . The rito center is a good five blocks from where they are, almost. Pushing people back, he may have the suspects in that crowd too. Theyre going to have their firearms drawn and take them back to a safe distance out of range of a long gun, but at that time they are being on alert to see the suspect could be in the crowd. They will be working information, holding transportation the area and making sure that when they are clearing the building, that fear taking a good look at individuals, particularly take them back a fair distance and you will probably see in the next hour or two here, more evacuations in the area if there are any universities or colleges or government buildings close by that somebody could run into easily disguise themselves as normal people, where they can hide for a couple of hours. They will be looking at fat writes now. Jon and that is the thing that is tough, if an individual is able to slip into a crowd, who knows where he or she, we dont even know if there are other potential gunman, where they could be. What could this take to have the active scene. An active piece of information or tip they received, correct . Any tip has to be investigated, so they will react toward that, so the Ottawa Police will be the First Responders here, and send the Ottawa Police to other transit people, anywhere somebody may be trying to the country. We now confirm there are several shooting incidences, one at the war memorial, one at the Rideau Centre in one at Parliament Hill. Because we dont know the number of suspects, the city core is still in lockdown and we are asking people to stay away from their windows and roof tops. He is still in the hospital. I have not received any information at this time. I dont mean to throw an unfair question at you, but perhaps you have some information. Based on what happened where there were soldiers under attack by a radicalized youth and we know in ottawa the tomb of the unknown soldier, there are soldiers standing by, a position of pride and respect for obvious reason. Do you know if any security has been changed, have there been any security changes as far as youre concerned out of what has happened in ottawa . I can only talk with the Ottawa Police and can tell you our alertness was i guess heightened with this situation on the quebec side. So, yes, the Ottawa Police were more alert to that situation. Give us the latest, ongoing, fluid. When you get these tips, we saw some action happening down at the Rideau Centre. What happened with that in what was around the chateau laurier. They will be looking for suspects. Trying to keep people safe and the crime scene that we have. Have evacuated the Rideau Centre . Part of the Rideau Centre has been evacuated. We are working with other security agencies from other buildings and asking them to keep people inside for send them home or evacuate them. Ottawa police council, thank you very much. Jon all right, so a couple of hours ago someone opened fire on soldiers, ceremonial guards at the war memorial in ottawa canada, and then the same gunman walked or ran to the house of Parliament Building, got into building and opened fire. That gunman we understand has been killed. There have been shooting instances at the Rideau Centre. Blocks away from the Apartment Building as well as on Parliament Hill as i mentioned earlier. Minister of parliament, get a couple of other lawmakers were on the other side of the door when he heard 20 2 30 shots before being led out of the building safety. Joining us now on the phone. Wednesday mornings on parliament, that is where the party meet, everybody is in the building, so in the center hall of parliament, one side of the hall is our party, Democratic Party meeting with our leader, on the other side the conservative party with prime minister, so i did hear 2030 shots. It sounded like it was outside our door. Suddenly you are in real life. They are not big, fancy security doors, they are ordinary, oldfashioned doors. We did what we needed to do to secure them. I am sure you are fewers probably have a better sense than we do because we were there when it was happening. What i can tell you is our security on Parliament Hill, the hill it self is where people come and do frisbee, yoga, they protest with everything they wanted they want to argue but the government. It could be a secure space. When i saw the concern on the security guards face, and it was serious business. They wanted to get a safe as lawmakers were potential targets but those men and women were staying behind to make sure that we were safe so i am very concerned about them right now and want to make sure, they got us out of that building. Jon as of a few days ago the warning level was at low, it was upgraded to medium. As of a member of parliament, do you have any information to why it was upgraded . We dont know. We certainly know with lot of speculation about isil there are periods it attracts attention. We had the issue where some guy ran a cleaning company decides he is radicalized, that homegrown terrorism or homegrown crazy, we dont know be at i dont know who is behind the shooting, but what i do know is what struck me is we look out for each other, got out and are safe, that is what we need to do in these times. We cant give into the fear. I want to thank the security and police. My heart, feeling for the soldiers did the central symbol for why we are who we are. People gave their life for our country so we would be an open democratic society, and we will not let pounds or crazies or terrorists take us down. Going back to the shooting at the war memorial be it there is construction going on in this area where the shooting first occurred and a construction worker was right there when gunfire rang out at the war memorial. A soldier was shot and wounded. A construction worker says the gunman was dressed in black with a scarf covering his face. He ran into the street, hijacked the car, the driver of the car was not injured. He got into the vehicle, ran toward the main Parliament Building where he got out of the car, rushed up the steps, passed a woman pushing the baby in the stroller who ran away screaming. She was unharmed and the gunman went into the Main Building and opened fire. As youve heard from several canadian lawmakers, this is a busy day for the Canadian Parliament. It is caucus day on wednesday morning. They house the main house of commons and Senate Building so there would have been a lot of people there. We talked about this already, the alert status for the canadian terrorism level has been raised from low to moderate and there is with an incident two days ago when a man converted to radical islam and killed a canadian soldier. Also in a hitandrun incident hit another soldier before he was gunned down and killed. Whether that is related to the heightened terrorist situation and if this is related to terrorism we are still not. You have mentioned before, the security around the security Parliament Building nothing like what you would see in washington, d. C. It is essentially wide open. There are no barriers to stop cars get into the buildings and so on. Whatever this turns out to be, these gunman, singular or multiple, they have access to the main Parliament Buildings. Shannon ashley, i want to go back and retrace some of what you said because thi it sounds different than earlier with this accounts we heard which as information flows in will get more facts and eventually this will be all nailed down. You talk about a construction worker describing a scene that somebody hijacked a car and took off. We were told the car that showed up outside of parliament did not have plates making it sound like this was something planned out. Maybe in the witness testimony, maybe that is not accurate, but reconfirm for us what you are hearing from the witness, the construction worker. It seems the potential suspect, shooter took somebody elses car . Speaker that is. That is according to the construction worker. They may not know all the facts. He indicated the driver in this car was physically taken out of the car, the gunman jumped in and took off. He did not look like it was a car belonging to whoever this individual was goo. Climbing down the scaffolding awfully construction work going down in the buildings. To your point from the construction workers point of view, he was telling this account saying the person with a gun pulled the driver out, jump in the vehicle and headed toward the main Parliament Building. Shannon and we have heard accounts from the police there are multiple locations, multiple witnesses, so who knows. Maybe there are Different Things witnessed there. Ashley, thank you for letting us know what is going on. Jon president obama has been informed, has been briefed by senior staffers of what is going on. The investigation still very much under way after a number of shootings inside and outside the Parliament Building in canada, the seat of the nations Central Government there. Lets talk about what is going on with senior fellow at the centers for security policies. Fred, you were a cia analyst, put on your cia analyst hat and give us a look at what is going on here. Jon, we dont know who was behind this. No doubt this was an act of terrorism. I think this is more than an active homegrown terrorism. I think this was sophisticated al qaeda or Islamic State plot to attack a vulnerability. Congress has pretty extensive security, so does the british parliament. I think they targeted ottawa because they knew the security was later. This is the purpose of the Islamic State, to state active tear outside of the middle east to terrorize western audience. Jon so how do we respond . Canada is going to have to secondly step up the security posture. I heard canadian officials acknowledge that. I think we really have to be on alert. Terrorist attacks like this are possible in our country. Jon one of the things that we were going to be talking about today until this breaking news occurred is the fact there is a trio of young girls of somali descent from denver, from the colorado area, who have been intercepted in turkey flying to try to join isis. That terrorist group is sort of winning in many respects the propaganda war here. How is that possible . The Islamic State is not at war in the middle east, it is a global war. A very sophisticated war over the internet using social media and it is hoping to recruit supporters behind western borders to join them in the middle east to fight for homegrown terrorist attacks behind the borders. It is frightening they were able to recruit such young people and they got as far as frankfurt, germany. Jon now we have multiple shootings, multiple locations. You are fairly certain these were inspired by or perhaps even perpetrated by isis . Now we dont know. One of the shooters was dressed in black, that may indicate he is somebody inspired by isis. When we have a plot to get inside the Canadian Parliament, this is not simply a random attack, this was something well planned. I suspect it was coordinated with isis. Jon i am reminded of what it was like on 9 11. Thinking this is the day everything changes. Airline security, Everything Else will change in this country. And apparently canada now has a similar situation with regard to security at the Parliament Building. We have seen some of the video. The Parliament Building is essentially wide open, the doors are right there. There may have been a guard or two outside, but not as difficut for a gunmen to show the couple of people out of the way and get into the building with a rifle. That is not going to be the case from here on out. Im afraid thats right. In 2006, 18 islamists were rescued in toronto who plans to attack the front of parliament and behead the prim prime minis. Al qaeda has been at this since 2001. The Islamic State is so much better at top again to and recruiting homegrown terrorists. Jon former cia analyst now at the center for security. S. That monitors, gathers any chatter, that center is also monitoring what is going on in ottawa. For now there is information trickling in. They are tracking it, catherine says, they are tracking this as a terrorist incident for now unless there is evidence that surfaces to tell them otherwise. Little update from washington. He heard the shots, what can you tell us and where are you, are you safe in shelter somewhere . We are in lockdown in our office. Multiple staffers with me. Meetings were underway on Parliament Hill. Very close by the scene you may have seen of the shooting which happened around 10 00. At first there is construction going on behind us at the west block and regular explosion and lots of noises coming from there, so they thought it was same as usual until they yelled to shut the doors and lock everything. Right now a dozen of us have been asked to stay away from the windows. More gunshots as we speak. We are taking cover and standing still. Shannon is this something you have prepared for in the past . We know the situation is different by comparison washington, d. C. , but i imagine with the heightened threat analysis, the level being raised to just days ago, is this something you drilled and practiced for . You have procedures in place . I have been on the hill 17 years and we have never practice this kind of drill. This is not something we have been briefed about. It was not really noticeable. There have been a couple of security instances on the hill over the past 20 years. 10, 12 years ago some guy tried to run a pickup truck through the main doors of center block. But basically people are able to freely walk up all the way to the building unchecked. Shannon at what point does security kick in . Entrance to the building, metal detectors, personnel screening . It sounds like very relaxed to this point entryway. When you enter the Main Building or any building on Parliament Hill there are three or four officers checking your id and making sure you belong there. If you dont, you are turned away and have to go to a separate entrance with metal detectors. Usually the main post a couple of uniformed officers and a couple of plainclothes officers as well. Urgency all over the hill looking for suspicious activity. Obviously something didnt work out this time. Shannon it sounds a that area is very open air. It would be a place a lot of tourists would visit, a lot of foot traffic, addition traffic, is that accurate . Outside the building themselves, absolutely. You see tourists there all the time, on tuesdays there are about 2000 people coming from the buildings across the capital to do yoga, they bring their matt and do exercise, it is a fairly open area. People bring their families and have a picnic. It is a very welcoming place. It is meant to be this way, it is for the people. Shannon can you tell us what kind of communications at all you are getting. You were told to shelter in place, stay safe. Do you have any access to information or any guidance you are getting at this point . We are spread across Parliament Hill, giving reports of what is going on in their area. From security rights now the message remains the same, stay inside, locke your doors, do not open and stay away from windows. Now, what i can tell you is they are spreading the barriers beyond the present government buildings and businesses are being shut down inside of the capitol. And they have shut down some buildings on the quebec side and across the river where federal buildings and other buildings are shut down and locked down as there is at least one more shooter on the loose. Shannon you are also hearing as we heard there may be other suspects still out there operating, not reined in, not arrested or down in any way. Our best to you as you stay safe there, sir. A gunman got out of a car with a long rifle, long gun and opened rifle on ceremonial guards at the war memorial in canada, in ottawa. That gunman ran over to the Parliament Building and ran inside with the gun. We understand one gunman is dead. We presume it is the same person. We dont absolutely know that for a fact. Ottawa police say there are other shooting locations as well. Near the rido center, not inside, a we wellknown Shopping Mall in there and two inside of parliament and at the war memorial. Joining us from our sister network, Fox Business Network, Ashley Webster has some more information for us. Ashley . Jon, i wanted to pick up why canada raised its terrorism threat level from low to moderate. A Government Official has said that the raised threat level was in response to what it calls an increase in online general chatter from radical groups including Islamic State and al qaeda. Now a Ministry Spokesman said that the increased little, quote, means that intelligence is indicated that an individual or group within canada or abroad has the intent or capability to commit an act of terrorism. We should also point out earlier this month, canada did announce plans it was going to join the u. S. Led campaign of airstrikes against isis. So a little bit more context on the raised threat level. Jon there was the incident the other day with the soldiers who were run down, was it quebec. It was indeed. One soldier was killed, another was injured in a hitandrun incident by an individual who reportedly turned to radical islam. He was eventually shot and killed. That comes two days before todays shooting incident. Jon again we do not know the motivation what has taken place today. I think it is safe to call this an act of terrorism. Whether it is islamic motivated or not, we do not yet know but, multiple shootings incidents and reportedly more than one shooter, all this taking place in the Canadian Capital and frankly inside the halls of the nations government building there, the parliament, where one of the shooters reportedly is dead much Ashley Webster, from Fox Business Network. Ashley, thank you. Shannon all right. Just a recap a little bit of, we know that washington is monitoring this, jon. The president s briefed. Our Homeland Security secretary jeh johnson, our National Counterterrorism center, all tracking this, keeping an eye on it. Things have not changed here in the u. S. As far as our own threat levels. They have been elevated. As far as we know were maintaining posture and continuing to track what is going on in canada. One of our closest allies and certainly we share a lot of interest and a very long border with them as well. And, in recent days, as the threat level there in canada changed, of course spark as lot of questions. As we have talked with a number of folks there in canada and reporters, highlighting the fact there are a number about canadians, we know, just as there have been allegations about americans that have traveled overseas, that have joined in the fight there, with isis. Again, jon as you said we dont know what the connection is or isnt to possible islamic radicals at this point but there are many, many questions. We had conflicting information and were hearing multiple locations for shootings and according to police potential multiple suspects as well. We just got off the phone, myself and colleagues. As you said, the police are confirming three shooting incidents, one at the war memorial, one at center block in the and near the rido center area. These are all within a block 1 2 area. The mall is locked down. We spoke with employees at the stores they say they are locked inside of the stores and they saw police running through. Civic hospital which is the trauma hospital here in ottawa, confirmed two victims are on the way to the hospital now. One being a shooting, gunshot wound but, stress that both have nonthreatening injuries. As you mentioned throughout this, it all started about 10 00 this morning. A gunman described as having long hair, shot a soldier serving as honorary guard at the National War Memorial, which sits just south and across the street from the Parliament Buildings. Witnesses say it was some form of long gun. Cpr was performed immediately by people on the scene. Paramedics showed up. He is the in hospital now. We have no word on thinks condition. His condition. The gunman fled across the street, commandeered the reports say, went up to centre block of the Parliament Building. This is where our house of commons meets. As you heard from parliamentarians. Wednesday is a busy day. All parties meet in the main caucus rooms there. We heard a number of them on your newscast. They heard multiple shots going on. Photo went up on twitter, mps putting chairs and barricading them against the door of one ever caucus rooms presumably to keep themselves safe. Our reporter inside centre blocs told to barricade herself in the office. The reporter from the globe sent out incredible video, you may have been showing this on newscast, police and security guards running down the long hallway in centre block and you heard a long volley what sounded like automatic gunfire. Cbc, where i work is reporting that the gunman on the hill is dead and police are saying there are multiple, there could be multiple shooters. Just to situate the rido center, two blocks east of Parliament Hill. Barely two blocks. The department of National Defense headquarters backs on to the rido center. Is the embassies of United States. American embassy is on lockdown. It is not being evacuated. Upon news of the incident they sent a notice to all american citizens in the area, this is regular procedure they do anywhere in the world advising them of lockdown. Schools in the downtown area, primary schools, high schools, are in lockdown. And. Somebody described as well the Parliament Hill sits on a cliff. We border province of quebec. You have to go across a couple of bridges that border the province of quebec. All the bridges are closed for security reasons. The entire downtown area is crawling with tactical units. People in offices were told to stay inside. There might be a shooter on the roof. Dont go to windows. They have been pushing back journalists my colleagues, back another block, back another block. It iser really quiet. Early quiet. We have have been in the lock down mode for hour 1 2. I am born and raised in ottawa. I have never seen anything like this. It is quite unbelievable. As should point out as well, many talked about how parcel meant hill is quite open. That is true. You can not drive a civilian can not drive a car on to Parliament Hill. It is covered by rcmp. That changed post9 11. No civilian car is allowed to drive on the hill. As you mentioned in your reports as well too, all this comes days after this gentleman in quebec, who apparently was radicalized ran over these two Canadian Forces officers. One of them succumbing to his injuries. That is basically what is going on here in ottawa right now. But things are changing. It is still in a tense, because police arent really sure if everyone, all the gunman have been apprehended and where they are all. Lori, our hearts go out to you. How heartbreaking this is for you. Social media lit up, from ottawa, maybe were just too come place cents or havent been paying attention. This is canada. This is ottawa. Sleepily old ottawa. Things like this dont happen here. Clearly something. We dont know the details of who is behind this obviously. It is not time yet, im not here to speculate. Shannon right. But it is certainly shattered people to the core and social media is just exploded with both sympathy and grief for anybody who has been shot here in ottawa. Even people from across the country, wishing good wishes to people here in ottawa. Shannon i cant, from here in the u. S. As well unfortunately experienced this firsthand. I remember very well, i was, on the hill after 9 11 when we had our Memorial Service and it was unbelievable. There must have been 10,000 people of the lawn of Parliament Hill that day as they expressed condolences and grief for the victims of the 9 11. Jon out of abundance of caution, we should mention, norad, the north american air defense command, says it is taking appropriate and prudent steps to make sure theyre adequately postured to respond quickly to any incidents involving aviation in canada. We do not belief that there are believe there are any aviation problems underway right now, but norad which keeps a fleet of fighter jets at the ready is also ready to respond just in case that is necessary. We also mentioned that the president , pardon me, president obama has been briefed what has taken place this morning in ottawa. Well, right now im only able to confirm certain information in regards to the officer safety on scene. At 9 52 this morning we received a gunfire shots at the war memorial. The, one of the persons at the war memorial was affected, injured by the gunshots. The victim was transported to the hospital. His conditions, were still waiting for the status of his conditions from the hospital. We have an officer there on scene with him, waiting for those details. From the suspects were looking at multiple. There are possibly three that were looking at. The information from numerous witnesses that were on scene, youre looking at a scene that is very populated where people work, go to school and live in the area as well as visit the Downtown Core of ottawa which is like a kilometer away from the parliament. It is at full scope of numerous, numerous people in the that Downtown Core area. The reed dough center is also reed dough center, populated. All the buildings are affected in security premises where officers are looking and seeking to try to find the suspects still not apprehended. Jon i know its a chaotic situation and that eyewitness testimony, can not always being relied upon in a situation like this. You say there are possibly three shooters involved we have confirmation there is more than one. Multiple people were with the shooter, shooters at the time of the first incident at the war memorial. These persons, these suspects have gone from that scene towards the parliament and then have gone to other areas, with on the, that whole scene of containment right now. So numerous buildings are looked into, with officers, tactical, k9 and all the agencies are helping each other, rcmp, Ottawa Police and other agencies and police and opb are in the vicinity trying to assist as well. Jon we understand this first soldier who was shot was one of the ceremonial guard at the war memorial. Were told that there were, there were two who came under attack. Is that the normal number of ceremonial guard there or is there a higher number. I dont have details on their, on the person, how many people actually guard the site. I would have to get that for you but i dont have those on paper. Jon all right. We certainly, we certainly understand that. Are those guard armed or are, you know, as a ceremonial guard, are they unarmed . I dont those details as we, i apologize. Jon thats quite all right. We understand this is a chaotic situation. We are told that the gunman who opened fire on those guards at the war memorial, then ran to the Parliament Building, got inside and ultimately was killed. Are you able to confirm that . I will not confirm that till i get full resource on the scope of what happened. There are stories that the, one of the suspects was being dealt with by ottawa and rcmp. I will not confirm of the status of that individual. Although we still have officers on scene going through with the information given as well as direction from where these other suspects possibly are. Jon was anyone else inside the Parliament Building a victim of gunfire . In other words was the gunman able to open fire and injure or, well, injure anyone else . I cant confirm that at this time. Weve confirmed now with authorities multiple locations for shootings and they say multiple suspects. The constable you heard just talking with jon saying at least one more. So, lets talk with our laura engle. She has been monitoring local media as well. She is in our new york city newsroom and abe to tell what she has been able to glean as well. Laura. Weve been moner toking victims going to the civic hospital. That is where the canadian soldier was brought. Weve been trying to get an update from hospital staff on his condition. They can not give us that yet either. But we are seeing on twitter and hearing on local radio that two more people are being brought to that hospital. One of them reportedly shot at least, according to these local reports but not in critical condition. Were trying to get confirmation from that on the hospital as well. A lot of tweets going out from global, national as well. Military members at the Naval Dock Yard are being told to remain extra vigilant. Exercise extreme caution. Seeing tweets at military bases all across canada are underlock down. Seeing another tweet from cbc news, with the clarification that some Canadian Force bases have heightened security measures going on right now. One local reporter i was listening to, who called in during all of this was describing a large amount of public that was around during the shooting. There was a tour group going on, a large amount of tourists coming into town on this day to take a tour of the cap tall and obviously running for cover. There is a lot of public being held back as youve been reporting along with those local reporters. We continue to monitor that situation and well bring you more as we hear it here in our newsroom. Shootings, outside of the Rideau Centre, a popular Shopping Mall, a couple blocks away and a shooting at war memorial that apparently wound ad soldier. Canadian ministers said because of increased online general chatter from radical groups including Islamic State and al qaeda. Means that the intelligence they say, had i am indicated an group from canada or abroad has ability to commit an act of terrorism. That is rather vague or broad assessment. Just wanted to update you on the condition of the soldier or information that we have about the soldier who was a ceremonial guard at the war memorial. That is apparently where all of this started this morning when someone jumped out of a car, we understand, with a long gun, opened fire on these two ceremonial guards. One of them was hit. We are told in a news release from the hospital, the ottawa hospital has received three patients in awe, two of which in stable condition. But it then goes on to say say all inquiries about the soldiers status should be directed to the department of National Defense. You can read into that what you will. The scene inside of the parliament, absolutely chaotic, this is stunningly beautiful building, with stone hallways, very tall ceilings and a lot of noise, especially when you open fire inside of a building like that. Some of the moments after this gunman fled the National War Memorial and actually made it inside of the halls of parliament or inside of the Parliament Building i should say, with his gun. Some of that was captured on camera. I want you to watch this now. [shouting] [gunfire] jon there you see the chaos, again, no one quite knew what was going on but, from Ashley Websters reporting we know that kevin sickers the sergeant at vickers, the sergeantatarms of the Canadian Parliament is being hailed as a hero having stopped the gunman we understand.
