This case and we know that one of the women who was gunned down out here in cold blood at 22yearold sister, 21 minutes away of bell brook, ohio, residents being searched in ohio with fbi assisting local police, the exact relevance of that location yet to be revealed by the authorities when they do another briefing at the top of the next hour, residents of at least one of the people from that family, possible residents of the gunman. Meantime what we have is a window into the panic moments, minutes after the gunfire started ringing out here in the oregon district and we get that through police radio dispatches. Shots fired. Shots fired. Shots fired, we have multiple people down. We will need multiple medics. I have everybody coming to you. We think theres one shooter, he is down. We are looking for a second shooter. Once we clear this, you need to get medics in here. Theyre coming. People who are out people who were out enjoying the night life 1 00 a. M. On saturday night said they heard gunshots, heard people shouting active shooter and soon saw people lying on the i will never get that out of my head of just the gunshots and trampling, just the fear. Police have confirmed that the gunman was carrying a rifle and ar15, he was wearing body armor and he carried with him a surplus of magazines filled with, filled with ammunition, he was only active for a minute, less than a minute according to police in this case but still he was able to kill 9, injury 27. Rob, back to you. Rob yeah, we dont know how Many Lives Police saved by being so fast on that scene, mike, what is happening at the scene of the shooting today, obviously this is right in the heart of dayton, ohio . It is right in the heart of dayton, ohio and if you look behind me the crime scene tape is still up, the investigation of the crime scene is complete, but unfortunately what you have and very grisly what you have a situation like this a terrible mess thats left behind. Whats taking place is cleanup and grisly cleanup scene and thats why the district is still blocked off to the public. Rob understandable, mike, thanks so much. Now to el paso, texas as the city continues to reel over the shooting deaths of 20 people of hands of 21yearold man yesterday at a shopping center, police charging the shooter with capital murder, prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty. Garrett tenney live in el paso, texas with more on this, garrett. Well, molly, we are just a a little bit over 26 hours after the shooting began, you mentioned 20 People Killed, 19 of them have their bodies in the walmart there and not until earlier today did those bodies began to be removed from there, we still had families here that are trying to find out if their loved ones who they have not heard since the shooting began are among those individuals who are no longer with us, the mayor told us this afternoon that they are hoping to complete the process by this evening to identify the victims, to let the families know who they are, but just last night we saw some of the raw emotion as families came out in desperation searching for answers. I want you to listen to this one woman who came out with her two sisters trying to find about their 87yearold mother. I got tired of waiting and waiting and i just want to know where my mom is. I want to find my mom. Somebody needs to tell me where she is,i want to know if shes dead or alive or if shes still in walmart. Imagine 3,000 people, as many as 3,000 were inside the walmart when this shooting played out yesterday, so many folks were separated, most of them have been reunited since that shooting began, many still searching for answers, though, in terms of the investigation, you mentioned this morning that the fbi and the department of justice is seriously considering pursuing federal hate crime charges and they are treating this as a domestic terrorism case, molly. All right, Garrett Tenney on the ground, take you down to dayton, ohio, we can see the mayor of dayton, ohio about to go up to microphone, this is nan wheelie. [inaudible conversations] are you guys ready . Hello, this is mayor of dayton, ohio, i think this is our fourth press conference of the day and ive seen every single one of them and i appreciate your Due Diligence and getting the correct information out to news outlets. City manager shelley, u. S. Senator brown and u. S. Senator portman, deputy chief matt harper, state representative palmer and former county sheriff and congressman mike turner. So i just want to take a moment to talk about the outpour and support we have seen across the country. Today, i think ive had over 70 mayors from across the country reach out particularly have been of help, buddy dire of orlando, worked with his community through nightclub and mayor of pittsburgh, obviously with the tree of life synagogue. Cincinnati has been helpful and mayor james, new may or mayor of tampa and unfortunately because we had so many incidents weve had mayors who were able to give great advice and feedback, i think thats quite frankly a little sad if you think about it that they have learned so much because all of their communities have gone through terrible Mass Shootings. Today at 2 00 oclock i was very appreciative that senators brown and senators portman and congressman turner as well as u. S. Attorney ben grassman, atf came together with briefing with chief harper, walked the scene of the site, the district, the senators and congressman to get a sense of exactly what happened on the ground and i want to say how much i appreciate their support and their calls and what can i do questions during this day. Its meant a lot to citizens of dayton. I would like to invite senator brown to come and say a few words. Thank you, mayor, this is obviously a terribly difficult time for this community and i so appreciate especially police and fire and the rescue operations, how quickly the police department, Police Officers on the scene so courageously stood up and and did the right thing and saved literally potentially hundreds of lives with the amount of ammunition the shooter had and how quickly they responded and what a short period of time from the first shot to the last shot, so it really does tell me a lot about local public servants, police and fire rescue operations, we had the mayor tells us 20 i believe 20 First Responders from the region came in addition to 6 or 7 from the city of dayton that arrived all within 20 minutes to save lives, so thats what local communities do which come together like this. The mayor took us all to walkthrough the district, its its in many ways the center of dayton in terms of of evenings and small businesses, every single business in that area just about is locally owned and local ownership and what that means and they are coming together for vigil for the next many days, the way dayton came together after the tornado and after kkk rally a few weeks ago. My first talk with the mayor today, the first thing she told me other than expressing the grief and heartache of this community was how how she had gotten literally dozens of texts emails and phone calls all around the country almost all whom had Something Like this happen in their communities, so our first response, first response, of course, is sadness and prayers and thoughts for families and the Community Overall including police and fire and how they respond to this in the weeks ahead from trauma theyve seen. My next thought was anger at our country and society and congress for not doing anything about this, the house of representatives has passed a bill to do background checks overwhelmingly bipartisanly, ive called senator mcconnell to bring the senate back into session, we can pass that in one afternoon, background checks, the president of the United States can sign it that day, theres no reason we shouldnt be doing that, so we certainly pray for the victims and care about the victims but Congress Needs to do something, our state legislature, again, inadequate in dealing with gun violence also needs to react and respond to the right way so that these incidents just dont happen week after week after week after week in our country. I would like to invite senator portman to come forward to say a few words, came from cleveland and amazed by people coming here to get here as soon as possible. Mourning today after the tragedy of last nights shooting, we did walk down to district and we saw what has been a thriving commercial section of the city andof greate also saw workers, ems personnel who were having to clean the blood off the sidewalk from the tragedy of last night. Shocking, shocking, unspeakable, tragic, we have also seen this community respond as for the victims, fathers, sons and daughters who were shot last night and injured. We have seen in this community with the kkk rally, we have seen how this Community Came together after devastating hurricanes which, you know, still ongoing project but ive talked to the mayor a lot about this and im impressed on how the community has come together and respond. We saw it last night with these Police Officers who in the face of danger ran straight into it. We will learn more about this at 4 00 oclock and ulia all i can say its appropriate that Law Enforcement provide the perspective that you need on this, but courage was extraordinary and saved lives, probably hundreds of lives given the situation. Theres also an effort going on in the community that i hope everybody will support which is through Dayton Community foundation and oregon district tragedy fund, its a fund set up to help the victims. Again, this Community Comes together. I would make contribution to it, im sure everyone else behind me and i know this community will come together and help these victims, those who were injured, the families of those who lost lives. So this is this is a tragedy that requires that kind of response. My colleague senator brown talked about legislation, we should also, of course, as we figure out what happens here, lessons from it, just as we have learned lessons from others and are there more things that can be done, im sure there are, but i will say theres something deeper going on here and if you look at the suicide rates, if you look at the addiction rates, good job in responding to it but its been ground zero in terms of the Opioid Crisis as well. Look at the Mental Health crisis today, drawing up laws and in fact, no law can direct for of the problems we face today in the country and the shooting last night was an indication of that. So i look forward to working together with my colleagues to try to respond in an effective way possible but also figure out how can someone point a gun at someone who he had never seen or known and pull the trigger. Thank you. Senators donations and i know this would be no different as other episodes weve had in the past few months. Next id like to invite congressman turner to come forward and say a few words, i appreciate him calling me this morning and i appreciate him being here this week, congressman turner. I want to thank the mayor for the leadership on this day of sadness and i appropriate the mayor work to go pull everyone together. Also i want to thank the mayor and the police chief on the Police Presence that was in the district last night. Extraordinary that they were able to respond so quickly as a result of the Police Actions my daughters and hundreds others are alive and are safe today. I also want to thank First Responders that the police and fire who came to the scene and responded unbelievably nor the community. This is an amount of evil that we cannot comprehend. I freesht mayor putting us together to learn more about the particular case. Senator brown is correct, senator portman as we look across the country, we need a National Conversation as to how we come together on bipartisan basis to address this. Legislation, culture, i thank the mayor to try to find answers for the community and the work last night that kept so many safe. State representative, i wanted to say a few words. Thanks, mayor, thank you for your leadership, weve had rough times in the city of dyeton, youve met the challenge and thank you for your hard work. We have Great Police Department and great fire department, everybody behind me, i was hoping it was my last crime scene but we are back in action. Working the crime scene, im very proud of our First Responders. Theyve answered the call, ran towards the fire, its tough on those guys and they took care of business, so thank them. We cant get them enough awards because they saved a lot of people last night. Dispatch center, they get overwhelmed with mass situations like this, they did a tremendous job also. We had a rough year, we are a Resilient Community and we need to figure this out. Let me ask you guys this i will not get in policy discussion but we the people make the call, we dont work for special interest groups, we work for the people, lets sit down and get a solution, its Mental Health, its guns, we have to figure this out. So, yes, thanks for covering this and stay strong, dayton, we are in the game, thank you. Thank you. Getting chief harper will come forward to give any information he may have, i think itll be pretty brief and have detailed briefing. Yeah, thank you, mayor, thank you for everyones patience, we do have a comprehensive look at this coming at 4 00 oclock. The only thing i will add that right now we do have a lost and found that will be established at the safety building, thats the city headquarters beginning at 10 00 oclock tomorrow morning. There were a lot of items left in district, spread the were, any items were left they can come and retrieve those beginning tomorrow morning, thank you. All right, questions . [inaudible] went back to tornadoes, the kkk rally, the word resilient, is there something that sums up the people that live here . Youre asking me . Anyone. I will answer and anyone else can answer. The word i use for dayton is that it has grits, thats the word that describes what this community has been through for the past 50 years, the grit of changing economy, the grit when things happen, they come together, resilience in grit but i think that that is what makes us so strong and continues to make us resilient and i think that describes dayton and its people in a way that im very, very proud of. And then, you know, we talked about the reaction, how the First Responders really came to meet everybody there. Talk about Mental Health and then, you know, gun violence, is there any way to proactively prevent Something Like this from happening, we see it time and time again but, you know, its a question for anybody, any way to [inaudible] comments . Yeah, we need to do whats right, you know, Walking Around body armor, we call that clues, why do they have body armor, somebody is not acting right and have highpowered weapons, reach out to them. We know when somebody is having problems, we have to get the community to support people, lets start doing what is right. You know, i watched some of the News Conferences from the shooters neighborhood, they said the guy had problems but we failed to step to do whats right. The somebody help him out and give him a hand up. Cils, if somt right, reach out to us. Former sheriff said that civilians wearing body armor, wearing those vests, i feel the same civilians buying assault weapons. Mid90s to mid next decade ban on assault weapons and didnt get every assault weapon off the street but did make a difference and there are probably hundreds of if not thousands of people alive today, that might not have passed or might not have had the law prohibiting purchase of assault weapons and those weapons they are not weapons for hunting, we dont question people having a gun to hunt, we dont question people having gun to protect themselves, but civilians carrying assault weapons, it speaks of recurre of police department, other weapons nothing like guy with assault weapon, why do we put the police in that situation too where civilians carry these weapons of war and its its unfair match by any stretch. [inaudible] 2019 [inaudible] a day in mind or a week in mind or having a plan to address these issues . Like i said earlier, i think it requires comprehensive approach because you are talking about each is different and we dont know the facts here yet but what we do know which ive seen in public reports and i can say this, he shot his sister. We know that in a short period of time you will find out the exact period of time at 4 00 oclock i will tell you and i will tell you in that period of time there was a burst and ive seen public reporting on that as to how many shots were fired, if thats true, the magazine, of course would be illegal, do we need more laws, we probably do, we passed something in 2018 to tighten the background checks and i think theres a consensus that we need background check to make sure the wrong people dont have the weapons, you will learn at 4 00 oclock whether he would have been caught in background check. My point is not just about laws, its about something deeper and Mental Health was mentioned earlier, we have a crisis in this country, theres no question about it. There are people who have talked about the deaths of despair and the suicide rates, they talk about the addiction rates and they talk about the Mental Health issues that are causing some of this, so this is a broader discussion that needs to be had and i you know, i hope that when we get back we will have that discussion and we will have at state level, at every level but we also have to have it in our communities and home and hearts and former sheriff, representative, talked about that, almost every one of the cases as you look back on it some indication of Mental Health problem, in some cases actually investigations of individuals that unfortunately did not resolve and that person being treated the way he or she should have been, we dont know in this case yet enough but at the end from public reporting and what former sheriff, now representative just told us, there were indications apparently, so how do we how do we in terms of prevention identify those individuals, get them the help they need which is Mental Health treatment, which is sometimes with red flag laws and other things keep them in a situation where they cant harm others, sometimes that means incarcerating, so there are needs for us to look at this on a broader basis. Senator [inaudible] excuse me. This is very difficult legislative issue, thats why i think we need a National Conversation. The legislation that was passed in the house currently pending in the senate would not have affected the situation, in ohio also the magazine that was used is already illegal. There has to be a legislative broader conversation where we can find impact and what the sheriff is saying is incredibly important. If theres a neighbor or a friend who you believe poses as a risk, take the first step, its unthinkable for us how quickly our own families become at risk and this is why this is so important for us to pick up the phone, say theres a problem, say that theres an individual who appears to not only be a threat but perhaps have weapons to the extent that they have nefarious intent. I think that the former sheriff we are just listening in on a press conference there in dayton, weve had a series of these throughout the day updating the media and the community and the country about the latest mass shooting that has occurred there, 9 people dead and theyre expecting actually to do another update at 4 00 oclock, potentially more information about the shooter, potentially more information about motive as well. Rob thats the dayton shooting, of course, 9 People Killed there, Something Like 16 injured and you had another one in el paso, texas yesterday where 20 people were killed, total of both shootings, 29 dead and more than 50 injured, we will keep and we are coming right back at 4 00 oclock, but for now we will rejoin sunday morning futures already in progress. We have to bring the country together, kids are scared to go thto school, parents are scared and they have been telling me and we have kids too, they are afraid to send kids to school. Churches, schools, what is going on here. Weve got to bring this country together, weve got to heal and its got to start at the top, the president has to take a leadership role in this, hell got to stop being so divisive, hes got to stop tipping the hat to white nationalists and sometimes overtly to them to where hes talking to some crazy guy who is going to drive 10 hours to shoot mexicans, what the hell are we talking about here, this is insane . Maria well, wait a minute, youre say august lot of things and the president obviously came out and offered condolences this morning, he said that we are waiting on information in terms of what the motives are in this situation, you just mentioned immigration, the president has said many timesas hes not agait immigration hes against ilLegal Immigration, are you saying that its the same thing, whether its illegal or Legal Immigration . Im saying i read the manifesto that this person who committed a crime in in el paso wrote and it was all about mexicans, i mean, it sounded like parts of it, you know, could have come out of trump rally, honestly, like this guy this guy was going to kill mexicans because of the environment that this president has created in this country and the president is not always talking to person people who are a stable, hes talking to people who get guns and drive 10 hours and go shoot mexicans, its got to stop, maria, im as bipartisan of a guy as you want and i want to work across the aisle and i want to work with republicans but this president has to do a much better job of trying to heal the country as opposed to trying to divide it because this guy comes in and hes killing hes killing people in a small town in texas. Maria everybody is responsible for the tone out there, you look at tone on social media and people say whatever they want, we are dealing with this right now with the social media ermpanies trying to understand why some people they take down the tweets that they say are hateful and others are there, so it goes beyond the president but i get your point in terms of the tone, it is important, words matter and you cant just say whatever you want to say to whoever you want to say on social media and not think its going to have an impact. I agree the lowest common denominator will act in a way, the most powerful person in the world has to set a High Standard and hes not, you know, by saying these guys should go back to their countries where they came from, i mean, that type of of toxicity is now permeated the entire country to where some jackass in texas drives 10 hours to go shoot mexicans. I mean, come on, the president has a higher responsibility than the one hes executing today. The president more than anything, maria, youve been covering it for a long time, the president is a cultural figure more than anything and you set the cultural tone of the country, we are eitherou going o go to the moon or tell people to go back toe the country they cae from and and those are two completely different examples of how to use your cultural position. Maria yeah, you mentioned immigration, immigration is not a race situation, this is a National Security situation immigration and i just ask your colleague on the right Kevin Mccarthy why all you guys left without dealing with the immigration issues, without the borderh loopholes, why, youre gone for 6 weeks now and nobody has done anything about the loopholes that are encouraging people from Central America to come to our borders makebelieve their families . Well, they are leaving the countries in Central America because of how dangerous it is there and so they are coming here to seek asylum and and i think america should always be a place where people can seek refuge and feel safe and there should be a process in place dont we have a process in place congressman, we let in 1. 3, 1. 4 Million People, they get their green card and thats happening at the tune of 1 Million People this year. Well maria get in front of the line, they are cutting the line of those who are doing it responsibly and legally. Thats right, we dont want anyone cutting in front of the line, im for border security, im not for decriminalizing people coming over the border, i think it should be a crime, and but the problem is in Central America, in whats happening in guatemala and honduras and el salvador is gangs are running the country so people are fleeing with kids and families and sending them here and the president s response is cut the state Department Budget that wouldd fix those problems in those countries, we have to play offense and make sure that we are dealing with the problem where it is which is in Central America, this is about having a bigger vision for how to solve these problems and, look, im for border security, we all are, we should be for people seeking asylum and they are going to get killed or daughter put in sex trade in country in Central America, lets work on a pathway toto citizenship. Maria look, you mentioned the president s role in all of this, what about your colleagues on theut left, what about the squad and thed comments that they mae about israel, the comments about others that theyre making, i mean, this is all the same conversation, isnt it . We need to heal. Maria yeah. In america and as i said in the debate the other night, its not about left or right, its about new and better. Maria right. The most powerful person in the country with the most authority and the most power should set the example. Maria yeah. Hes not, hes a disappoint, maria. Maria stay with us, i want to talk more about the debate, quick break and we will be back with more tim ryan. More, more, more how do you like it, how do you like it more, more, more how do you like it, how do you like it all you can eat is back. How do you like that . Applebees. Maria welcome back im back with ohio congressman 2020 president ial candidate tim ryan and congressman i want to talk to you about your debate that you were in last week and this divide going on in your party, where youve got really the progressives resonating with many democrat voters, while you are a moderate trying you are moderate and breakthrough talking to people about jobs about economic issues, how are you going to breakthrough when youve got your colleagues talking about Getting Health Care to illegals before americans or those in medicare for all and dismantling the health care. Yeah, i was pretty clear that i think that message, those issues are a disaster and we rewill provide Free Health Care for undocumented people in the country and that we are going to decriminalized crossing over into the United States and i just think thats a really, thats not where i am personally and i dont think its a good message for democrats and, look, if an you undocumented person wants tooc Purchase Health care and buy health care, im fine with that, we want them to be able to buy it, but they have to pay for it like everybody else. You have to pay for your own health care, i dont think that makes a whole lot of sense. Yeah. But i will tell you this, i had the best fundraising day of the year, the day after the debate, myy crowds in iowa, i ws there yesterday, doubled or tripled. We are getting a lot of interest, a lot of democrats out there who are saying wait a minute, thats going way off the reservation. Maria candidates need to have ar0 donors, you have until august 28th, are you going to make the stage . We will find out. We are off to a really great start, like i said we had much rigger crowds than i ever had in iowa and we are rolling and i think people are really looking, i was in nevada yesterday and people were grabbing me, some of the hotels we were at and, you know, saying, i saw you on the stage, keepe. Doing what youre doing, you to get the party back on track for us, so i think theres a move behind tim iian to be able to take the party and get us in a position where we can win the industrial states, rust belt states to win in order to beat donald trump and i will tell you, maria, donald trump does not want to run against me, he does not want me on the ballot running against him in ohio, talking about jobs, motor factories that have been closed and workingclass people have been struggling. He will have a hard time beating me in ohio, western, pa, wisconsin. He will have his hands full. Maria thanks so much. Thank you. Condolences to all of the people of dayton and throughout ohio. Lets get congress back in session and fix these laws. Maria we are following the developments after two deadly Mass Shootings in span of 13 hours, at least 29 People Killed in separate rampages in el paso, texas and dayton, ohio, i want to bring in former republican tray gowdy, always pleasure to see you, your reaction to deadly acts . Just evil, the right to life is the most fundamental basic primary right that we have. It is the right from which all other rights emanate, it doesnt matter if you have a right to a lawyer or if youre dead, it doesnt matter if you have right for free speech if youre dead, doesnt matter if you have right to bear arms if youre dead, on a personal labor im willing to give rights to avoid sandy hook, pulse nightclub, another day, but im out of politics and im not going back, are they being enforced, if the answer is, yes, nswe still have gaps in our laws that need to be fixed, keep in mind, you dont have a single right for which theres not some corresponding responsibility or restriction, every right you haveu has a restriction, so if e need more restrictions, between what youre proposing and what you hope to be the outcome, but just more laws that are not going to bet enforced is not going to work, show me a law to prevent the next sandy hook and sign me up as a husband and father. Maria wow. Show me the law and sign me up and i will give up any right i have. Maria do we have the right balance when it comes to gun control versus gun rights . Well, we have controls on who can have firearms, we have controls over where you can have them and we have controls over what kinds of firearms you can have, so thosee, are 3 areas of control, whether or not you can plus up one of those sections and then raise your your safety, the Public Safety its a scientific. To me i need to see a causal link to what youre proposing and the outcome. Im a big believer in background checks, i mean, maria, i was a gun prosecutor, i was a homicide prosecutor, so ive seen all the laws h that people are willing o break to do evil toward fellow man. Ive seen all that. Im open to additional laws if theres a causal link but im not open to a political discussion while people die. Maria making a lot of sense, congressman, i will take a short break, get your reaction of Mueller Investigation, the specials counsel testimony before congress and insights on how the fbi went to investigate Trump Campaign aid George Papadopoulos, we talked about the transcriptre before, we will talk about why we havent seen the fbi transcript between papadopoulos and that informant, thats nextex with trey gowdy wn we come back. So if theres a better treatment than warfarin. I want that too. Eliquis. Eliquis is proven to reduce stroke risk better than warfarin. Plus has significantly less major bleeding than warfarin. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. Not again. Limu thats your reflection. Only pay for what you need. Liberty, liberty, liberty, Liberty Maria welcome back. We continue to monitor the aftermath of two deadly Mass Shootings in texas and in ohio in less than 24 hours, at least 29 people were killed, in el paso and dayton. Dozens more were injured. We will bring you any updates the moment we get them. We are waiting on a motive and well bring you that when we know it. Meanwhile new developments on another front as fallout continues from the Mueller Investigation and the former special counsels recent house testimony. One name connected to the launch of the russia probe was mentioned more than 30 times during the mueller hearings. That name . George papadopoulos. The former Trump Campaign advisor. My guest this morning says the fbi owes america an explanation on how that investigation began. Were back with former South Carolina congressman trey gowdy. He was the chairman of the House Oversight committee, he is now a Fox News Contributor and congressman, i want to ask you about a conversation you and i had a couple of months ago which really went viral after we talked about it and it was about talking about an informant having a conversation with George Papadopoulos which you actually saw the track represent and we have not seen that transcript. Its still classified, and im wondering why not. You said thats a game changer that one transcript. It certainly has the potential to be. Why you havent seen it yet, i am lost. I am clueless. It is not that level of classification thats going to impact relationships with our allies. It goes to a fundamental preset we have in this country when there is information and information tending to show a person did not commit a crime, that that information is every bit as important as anything so the transcripts are important for two reasons. Number one, to buttress that fundamental preset but also, think about all of the questions you and your viewers have, maria when did the investigation begin the fbi and the doj said it was never intended to investigate the Trump Campaign, just russia. Okay, great. Show us the transcripts. Show us what questions you coach ed the informants or the cooperating witnesses to ask of the Trump Campaign officials. If its not about the campaign when you win. Youre right. But if youre veering over into the campaign or your questions are not solely about russia, then youve been misleading us for two years the good thing about transcripts they dont have to remember. All you got to do is read them. They dont have bad memories. Just release the transcripts and we can tell for ourselves when it began and what it was about. Maria i want you to know that i spoke with George Papadopoulos last night, because i was wanting to get ready for this interview, because you have alluded to this. You havent told us enough or much because i know its classified and you cant, but i know you saw it. George papadopoulos told me last night that the memo and the transcript that youre referring to is from a conversation that he had with steven halper, and it was in london at the sofatel hotel in london where he said like russia has all of these emails of Hillary Clinton and you know, whether en they get out that would be really good for you, right . That would be really good for you and the Trump Campaign, if all those emails got out, right and George Papadopoulos answered and said thats crazy are you kidding me . That would be treason. People get hanged for stuff like that. I would never do Something Like that. That is the transcript that George Papadopoulos told me is still classified. Now, i know you cant admit if thats it or not but let me just say if that is basically the conversation, that should have been given to the fisa court, right . That should have been made public to at least show us that George Papadopoulos had that question asked of him and he said are you nuts . Thats treason. Only if you want a Justice System thats fair. Thats the only reason it should be produced to a court is if you just a just its system that treats people justly and fairly. That is what you describe is textbook exculpatory information it tends to show the person did not commit a crime, a crime by the way maria he was never charged with. George papadopoulos was charged with a process crime but never with colluding with russia but it also speaks to what the fbi and the department were doing back in 2016. Was there target russia or was there target the Trump Campaign . Were not going to know until you make the transcript public. The one you referenced is a single transcript, there are going to be others. Maria wow and that happened in september of 2016 so that was breaking news. Thats the transcript i got the confirmation from George Papadopoulos yesterday. Maria welcome back and im back with former South Carolina congressman trey gowdy the chairman of the House Oversight committee a Fox News Contributor and trey, i want your take on John Ratcliffe a frequent guest on this program the president nominated him to be the director of National Intelligence and he withdrew his name. Here is what my sources are telling me. I am hearing that Mitch Mcconnell and richard burr basically blew him off. He called them to have a meeting with them and they said no, no, no, were busy we have the budget we cant do it and then they came up and said well i dont know. I dont really know him. They could have been more forceful in following the president s nomination, and the president s pick but they didnt , and i understand that partly was because they felt they could not deliver Susan Collins vote because Susan Collins said John Ratcliffe was awfully rough on mueller so am i to believe here that John Ratcliffe did not get the job because he did his job too well . In questioning mueller . I hope not. John ratcliffe was offered the d ni job before mueller ever set foot on campus, on the congressional campus, so all those stories about johnny auditioning for the dni, he was offered and accepted the job before mueller ever set foot on congress. I cant speak for leader mcconnell. I know senator burr really well. He called me sunday. I was on vacation with my wife. He called me looking for johns number, so im sure that john was something of an unknown commodities to the senators. I would have hoped they would have done what i did, maria. I opposed John Ratcliffe coming to congress. I supported and endorsed his opponent and then i did the strangest thing. I got to know him. He became my favorite member of the house so last week was a tough week for those of us that know and care about him on a personal level and it was also a tough week for people who care about facts, while im reading hes auditioning for a job hes already accepted and also a tough week for people who care about equality and being treat justly. I want you to contrast two people for me, maria. Contrast Kamala Harris background. Shes the only member of the senate, thats on intel judiciary and their version of homeland security. John ratcliffe is the only member of the house that is on those same three committees. Their vote former prosecutors, johnnys been in the house longer than shes been in the senate. Shes qualified to have her fingers on the nuclear code. Shes qualified to be the leader of the free world according to the media, but johnny is not qualified to lead an obscure agency that almost no one has heard of. That is duplies it and if the media is wondering why the republicans think they are in the tank, look no further than last week. Ma [farmers bell] burke a rock and wreck. Seen it. Covered it. At farmers insurance, we know a thing or two because weve seen a thing or two. We are farmers. Bumpadum, bumbumbumbum but family can only tell you sot much. About your history. I found some incredible records about samuel silberman. Passenger manifests, census information, even wwi draft registration cards. The records exist. Theyre there, theyre facts. That made it so real for me, it wasnt just a story anymore. Bring your Family History to life like never before. Get started for free at ancestry.
